avoid disaster, bring blessings:

Did your heart go out to those hurt by the Tsunami Disaster? Did your heart -- or mind or spirit or sense of physical well-being -- share the pain of others before reports of the disaster?

Rosemary (one of my students) inexplicably felt bad for days before the deaths.  Another empath felt bad for months—a black depression that lifted only with first reports of the earthquake and tidal wave.

Why would an unsuspecting person feel such a connection? First, know that advance warning of a calamity isn’t necessarily a psychic prediction or the result of being an empath.  Anyone can feel a sense of foreboding before  major disaster makes the news.

That’s because disasters don’t simply strike.  They build.  Be they earthquakes or plane crashes, murders or wars, large-scale or small-scale, catastrophes happen though a process of build-up, then release.

LONG-TERM CAUSES

Ever see a thunderstorm gather?  Tension builds in the atmosphere.  Even without the help of any official weather report, you can feel that buildup if you simply pay attention. When tension gets beyond the point of no return, it will release—like any catastrophe.

Here’s another analogy.  Within your own family, tension can develop.  Sensitive people either feel it or deny it; everyone involved, sensitive or not, becomes part of the problem. Should nobody intervene with discussion and active problem-solving, tension will escalate.  Guaranteed, a release will come.  It may be an argument.  Or there may be a fire, a burglary, an illness or other so-called “accident.”

Such events have consequences that can be unpleasant to handle, yet maybe you’ve noticed afterwards feeling a kind of relief.  We tell ourselves it’s because we’re glad “It’s over” or “Things have gone back to normal.”  Yet, could it be that we’re really responding to the calm after the storm, when tension has been washed away?

Maybe you’ve heard this explanation before.  I learned it first in the sixties, studying with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.  Since then, world consciousness has evolved enormously.  Yet we haven’t learned enough to stop the dynamic that culminated, most recently, with over 100,000 souls ripped from their bodies in Southeast Asia and thousands more in crisis.

Catastrophes happen when people don’t know how to stop the escalation of fear, pain, poverty, rage or other negative experiences.  Some people will always call them catastrophes, fearing them as acts of a vengeful God who randomly chooses victims.  But you know better.  In spiritual life, there are no victims.

Whether for a person, a family, a community or nation, the pattern repeats: When misery becomes unbearable, past that point of no return, the storm will rage.  After coping with the wreckage, hearts will open again, calm descend.  Can’t there be other ways to find relief?

TAKE ONE GIANT STEP

Through good times and bad, humanity continues to evolve spiritually.  Collectively, there’s no comparison between the huge spiritual consciousness available to us today versus decades ago or centuries into the past.

Individuals still can be holdouts, of course.  You’ll read their auras and find fear, pain or religious righteousness stuck where, instead, a gorgeous third eye could be.  There’s free will for you!  On average, fortunately, people today have consciousness far beyond the wildest dreams of yesterday’s flower children.

To appreciate this, use the indispensable skill for this millennium.  Read auras.  It’s easy, why?  Collectively we have evolved so much.  Why else is it easy?  Techniques have evolved as well—like the system of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses.  Formerly, it seemed that only people with a certain kind of clairvoyant gift could join the club.  They alone would “see the colors.”  Everyone else, wired from birth with a different, distinctive (and equally complete) set of gifts, would be a loser.  Well, phooey on that!

Personally, I’ve designed dozens of techniques, so that regardless of what your gifts are, you can recognize and use them to read auras clearly.  Know that seeing colors isn’t everyone’s gift but everyone can access quality information. You’re destined to succeed, so long as you make it your business to read auras in depth and detail.  Don’t give up until you’ve found the teacher or system that works for you.

Not only is aura reading well within the grasp of anyone today who desires it.  Using your deeper perception can help you to make sense out of events like the Tsunami Disaster.

You see, it’s one thing to believe that humanity is evolving by giant steps, leaping toward an enlightened age beginning in 2012.  Sure, theoretically, we’re all connected.  And yes, after a catastrophe you can find calm.  Beliefs like this may be satisfying, but where’s the joy in them, especially amid tragedy?

Well, aura reading can bring you that joy.  When you can read auras of people, in person and from newspaper photographs, you can tell when humanity takes another collective step forward.  Did you know?  Your own aura has probably shifted significantly, comparing pre-Tsunami days with now.

Check it out, if you can. Probably you’ll notice that you’re moving at a faster vibration, with greater refinement evident in every one of your chakras.  Especially pronounced, for many, is expansion at the third eye and crown chakras.

Auras remind us how humanity is joined energetically.  When thousands of people are suffering, their pain constricts the whole.  Without glossing over the grief felt by those who mourn loved ones so suddenly gone, without minimizing the terror and hardship felt by survivors, events are (in their weird way) a blessing.  Some of the departed had done what they came here to do; others were stuck--unable to keep pace with the rising vibrations of earth.

On this planet or off, nobody has been put in a place where God is not.  No mere catastrophe can do this.  Only in our fears is such abandonment possible.

Has fear been part of your experience of the Tsunami Disaster?  Have you, perhaps, been feeling a bit odd recently?  Give yourself credit.  You may have been going through growing pains of your own.  To help sort all this out, read auras.

You may as well practice this skill now, my friend.  Chances are, you’ll need it again.  Tragic though the Tsunami Disaster has been, I doubt that it’s unique.  Instead, it’s most likely one in a series of catastrophes, part of humanity’s global transition into the New Age, the giant steps and small ones that are bringing our Learning Planet to the year 2012.

BLESS THE WORLD

No one action by you or me will be enough to prevent future disasters.  Even a superhero like Mr. Incredible couldn’t do it alone.  But collectively and individually, we can bring the world our blessings.

Whatever you do, with prayer, with donations, you’ll be most effective by starting from a place of personal peace.  Besides helping others, this peace will help you keep balanced in your life, before and after any catastrophe.

All sensitive human beings (animals, too)respond to disasters.  As we evolve together, you can expect your sense of Oneness to increase.  This will enhance your personal experience of God, as well as your deep sharing with all life on this planet.  Regarding disasters, though, it’s wise to protect yourself from being inundated by pain that comes without your conscious knowledge or choice.

NOT THE SOLUTION

Here’s what the solution is NOT: TV news. Never watch it to keep informed about current events.  As you know, the most gruesome images possible are chosen for their shock value.  Even if you click your remote the instant an image is seen, too late!  That image has imprinted permanently onto your subconscious mind.

Mostly TV is relaxing.  As we watch, we’re put into a comforting trance.  You could research the neuro-physiological impact of the flashing lights, how your eyes track and your brain responds when you plug in, electronically.  After researching all this, trust me, you’d be extra motivated to avoid TV news.  Or you could save yourself time, switch on your common sense and turn the thing off except for entertainment.

It’s safer to catch up on current events from a newspaper (whether hard copy or electronic). Radio is safer, too.  Either way, you’re in control.  You can avert your eyes or turn off the sound and get the facts—but avoid filling your subconscious mind with horror.

For something even better to watch, try the technique I call the One-Minute Blessing.

the One-Minute Blessing

Okay, I’m being a bit optimistic here with the time frame.  Your first few experiences with this technique could take you 10 minutes or longer.  Just how long depends on your prior experience with activating mind-body-spirit awareness.  But do the technique daily and you’ll limber up fast.  Soon, each step of the technique will take just a few seconds.

Then, unless you’re having a difficult day, the technique really will take you just a minute.  (On the bummer days, you’d be wise to take the extra time.  It’s like sharing a hug or giving Reiki: This way of blessing others will bless you, too.)

Step One: Close your eyes. Check in with your body, noticing how it feels.  Especially if you have any reluctance to put attention on your physical body, be persistent. Y ou may go off onto thoughts or emotions, or notice noises in your environment.  When you have a choice, bring awareness back to your body.

Say or pray what you wish.  But remember, the goal here isn’t for you to heal, to fix, to explain.  You’re more like a silent witness.  This, in fact, is how to use your awareness throughout the entire technique.

Step Two: Take a few deep breaths and imagine pulling grounding energy into your body.  Pull this essence of Mother Earth right up through the soles of your feet.  When you’ve gathered enough, you’ll feel peace.

Step Three: Check in with your mind.  Again, just witness it.  Once you’ve acknowledged what it’s like for you now at that level, breathe deeply and pull in more life force energy through your feet.  Pull it into your solar plexus (or if you’re familiar with your Tan Tien, pull energy there) until you feel an extra glow.  Feel the peace.

Step Four: Check in with your heart.  Witness it, acknowledge what it’s like without changing a thing.  Breathe and pull more energy up through your feet, sending it directly to your heart chakra.  Feel the peace.

Step Five: Ask God to connect you with the life force of everyone on earth.  Whatever happens next will count as your answer.  Usually this will take just 10 seconds.  But, afterwards, on some level you’ll stay connected throughout the day, helping, bringing your love and best intentions.

Step Six: If you feel distress, ask God to help.  Know that your most effective helping will be as a conduit.  Through your awareness, you can connect the Almighty, expanded presence of God to the very human, localized kind of distress that you know how to identify. ( And couldn’t your whole life up to now be considered excellent preparation for doing a job like this?)

Thus, you set up the conference call.  You make the connection.

Why would this be needed? Though omniscient, God doesn’t suffer as people do.  This is where spiritual practice comes in.  You know how to feel the exquisite, small nuances of human pain.  You also have learned how to connect with what’s big.  So do both, one after another.  Then let go.  God will handle the rest.

Step Seven: When you feel ready, open your eyes.

Why do this One-Minute Blessing?  First, your attention blesses the world.  Second, the technique heals you – specifically, it’s healing for your body, mind and emotions.  By becoming familiar with the different levels of this blessing, you’ll find it easier to tell what’s what.

In addition, you’ll develop greater effectiveness at all your prayers.  For instance, if you’re concerned about the current state of American politics, use the big you of this Blessing to pray for the highest and best.  [Note: Use this as a pullout]

Disaster-Prevention for Empaths

Your role in blessing the world can be a little different if you’re among the 1 in 20 people who is an empath.  What’s an empath?  It’s someone with at least one significant, trainable gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be other people.

Until skilled, you spend your life picking up pain that belongs to other people… and without necessarily helping them in an effective way.  If you’ve read Empowered by Empathy or taken one of my related workshop, you know the basics and more.  You know how to turn your gifts OFF most of the time, plus techniques to turn them ON big time.

The Tsunami Disaster signals a new opportunity, where it’s imperative to expand your skills.  However much you desire to help the world at this time of transition, unless you expand your skills you may be blindsided by pain released on the planetary level.  I’ve developed a new technique that will help protect you.

I’ll be glad to send you these instructions for free.  Simply send an email to rose@rose-rosetree.com with the subject heading NEW TECHNIQUE FOR EMPATHS.  Or, mail a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Rose Rosetree, 116 Hillsdale Drive, Sterling, VA  20164-1201.  You can also click on the free forum for empaths:  Skilled Empaths Forum

ROARING INTO THE NEW YEAR

My technique for the One-Minute Blessing plays a key part in the novel, The Roar of the Huntids.  (How-to steps given here were adapted from page 174 of the book.)

Recently an enthusiastic reader praised the relevance of Roar to the American scene today. For years before Mr. Bush’s first term, I saw this coming and designed a novel to describe it, question it, satirize it and show one possible positive outcome, where the efforts of people like you made all the difference.

If you’ve felt disturbed about the state of American politics since the election, this novel can help.  So I’m offering a special just for my zine readers: $10 off the cover price of $22.95 for The Roar of the Huntids.  The special will last the month of January 2005.  Within the U.S., order by phone at 800-345-6665 and mention the zine special.

If you’re overseas, it’s just a bit more complicated.  Order online: Click onto http://www.rose-rosetree.com/orderbv.htm. Follow instructions to order the novel. Immediately afterwards, send an email to pbs@pathwaybook.com, subject line: Zine Special.  Write something like: I’ve just put in an order for The Roar of the Huntids.  Please adjust the price of each copy I purchase to reflect the $10 off for the Zine Special.
