HEEEERE'S JOHNNY!

America’s two most influential talkers got new gigs this January.  Both are now gabbing away in Heaven.  When Jack Paar started late night talk shows, he and his guests talked like college grads.  While Johnny Carson reigned as “The King of Late Night,” he brought the conversation down to high-school level. Today’s talk shows reach lower still, aiming no higher than middle school.

But no repining here!  Instead, let’s examine these influential men. Carson was seen—and loved--by fans from 1962-1992.  How did he change facially and aurically?  Here’s a hint: Carson showed only one significant facial change.

Check out these photos, starting with his face, then read the comments that follow.  As always, you’re invited to email your observations afterwards.  Send them to rose@rose-rosetree.com.

And now, heeeeeeeeeerrrrrrreeeeeeee’s Johnny...  in 1962, and in 1992.

WHY CHANGE?

Facially, Carson changed remarkably little.  Like many who are highly successful in life, and not of an introspective nature, why would he be motivated to grow?  Here on the Learning Planet, anyone is allowed to make the choice to stay the same, as Carson did.

Yet for someone in public life to change so very little is remarkable.  It’s comparable to a civilian living three times as long and still hardly growing or changing.  Here are some of Carson’s trademark characteristics:

Passion Power Style, with forehead wider than cheeks, suggests a high-energy person who accomplishes more than most.  As you may remember from The Power of Face Reading, folks with this kind of inner intensity often adopt body language that seems ultra-casual.  And wasn’t that Carson!

Carson’s Blarney Lips remained steady, with that triple-sized lower lip compared to his upper lip. This symbolizes his ultra-persuasive communication style.

He kept the very Up-Turned Nose Tip, the Short Nose, too—respectively, indicators of intense curiosity about people and being a hard worker.

Aside from adding a couple of minor changes like extra whole-brain lines (and disguises like the one he wore as the hilarious Carnac the Magnificent), the man’s face stayed put.

SIGNIFICANT CHANGE

The only significant change to Carson’s face was a distinctive lengthening of his nose tip. This Nose Bulge expanded in an upwards direction, eventually dominating ¾ of his nose length.

What, you’ve heard rumors that all nose tips grow with age?  Nonsense!  For the long answer why, see my advanced face reading book about how faces change, Wrinkles Are God's Makeup

For the short example, consider this: Ronald Reagan’s grew smaller.  And even when nose tips do grow, they usually move downward. Carson’s rose up more like yeast bread, left extra-long in the loaf pan.  The meaning?

Carson’s highly unusual nose change suggests that wealth had great impact on his inner life. More than other aspects of his celebrity, the multi-millions changed how he related to people. Even if this wasn’t Carson’s sole significant face change, the nature of the change in itself suggests that wealth became the defining fact of his social life.

And just as the nasal bulge showed oh-so-discretely, one wouldn’t expect his outward behavior to reveal the impact of wealth on his thinking.  Yet if we could have eavesdropped on his thinking, I’m certain we would have heard questions like these:

“Are these people dressed tastefully?” “Are the surroundings just so?”

Whether or not Carson discussed such things openly, his nose suggests this quiet obsession. It’s like the fable of King Midas, without drama or an unhappy ending.  This man’s Golden Touch was compatible with caring about people, yet wealth isolated him nonetheless.

HOW CARSON’S AURA CHANGED

Aurically, Carson is fun to read. Before reading my comments, go ahead. Compare the two photos here... in 1962, and in 1992, and if you don’t yet read auras from regular pictures, what are you waiting for?  Read Aura Reading Through All Your Senses or have me coach you over the phone for a personal session.  With practice, you’ll be able to read auras accurately right off a picture!  Many of my students can.  Why not you?

Back at Johnny, the 30-year contrasts are astonishingly small.  Simple, sunny and uncomplicated at first, Carson’s aura changed in ways that were small… yet poignant.

Carson’s root chakra bounces with vitality, fun and mischief.  Thirty years later, it’s just the same.  You’ve heard the expression “Young at heart”? This guy is “Young at root.”

Sexually, he’s loaded with sex appeal, but it’s an unthreatening, soft-sell version.  And this sex appeal isn’t used for his career in an overt way. By broadcasting as a person, rather than choosing to flaunt his innate sexiness, Carson avoids the burnout that inevitably follows this use of sexual energy.  Later in life, he projects the same gentlemanly, discreet sexiness, only it grows just a tad more refined.  That shift suggests that Carson has became more experienced, confident--even sophisticated--as a lover.

Power is one of Carson’s more interesting aura databanks. He shows a distinctive humility.  If any of you readers know much about Carson’s life story, I’d be curious to know if he was reacting to an overbearing father or other important male figure.  It’s as though he has overcome certain obstacles in a way that made him resolve, “I will never be pushy, no matter how much power I get.”

Certainly, his aura tells us that Johnny stays humble.  The older version of Carson’s aura shows him exceedingly used to having power, smoothly confident, yet purposely keeping himself humble.  It can be done!

Emotionally, Carson’s a charmer.  He’s friendly.  He’s funny.  He could give classes about how to gently laugh at yourself without sacrificing self-respect.  (Actually he did that via the “Tonight Show,” didn’t he?)

These gifts of the soul continue in the later version of his aura, yet here Carson’s heart chakra shows a considerably more complicated emotional life.  Clearly he has moved through some disappointments, choosing to avoid bitterness.  Yet sadly the result for him is to feel cut off from people.  Noticing wealth and status could be part of it.

At the throat chakra, Carson is pleasant, charming.  As a performer, he shows an unusual willingness to share the spotlight.  Later, this continues aurically, but he also develops a big temper (albeit very well controlled).  Because of how this is configured in Carson’s aura, I suspect that only family and close friends would have seen that temper on display.

Spiritually, Carson is wide awake, connected to his source without fuss or fanfare.  This puts him way ahead of Billy Graham and the televangelists to follow.  [For fun and contrast, check out the absolute certainty in Graham’s small third eye display.  Listen clairaudiently, and you can almost hear the fire and brimstone.]

If you read auras, however, you won’t be shocked by the contrast between Graham and Carson.  You know that the official role models for religion seldom have inspiring third eyes. God’s more unofficial ambassadors usually have bigger impact. The “Tonight Show” wasn’t billed as a revival meeting, yet, in his unpretentious way, Carson modeled how to be spiritually awake.

Later, Carson’s third eye still is beautiful.  Sadly, the openness is shadowed by—you guessed it—concern over wealth.  The TV legend has gone from someone willing to see people as they are to a more worldly man.  This latter-day Carson first would note a person’s social status and then, perhaps, be willing to look further.

Finally, at the high heart chakra, Johnny Carson is wide awake, radiating a golden God-connection.  Is he doing what he came here to do?  Unmistakably!  However, by the night of Carson’s last show, at that chakra he was really burned out.  Carson’s aura suggests he was wise to retire when he did.

WINTERTIME FUN

Celestial Perception is fun any time of year.  But winter may be the best time for it.  Cold weather slows us down.  Even if you live in a climate as mild as Seattle or Los Angeles, the days are shorter, the gardens subdued.  So you may feel motivated to go within more and, with more inner reflection, we read life around us more deeply.

When winter weather makes travel unpredictable, how extra-convenient it can be to request a training session over the phone. Empaths’ Empowerment is the most popular topic, but you can also upgrade your skills for aura reading or face reading or finding the work that thrills your soul.

An especially great thing about a one-on-one phoner is that—unlike a class-- if your aura has blockage that would get in the way of your talents, we can drop everything else and heal it right up.  Details about sessions can be found on my website.

Also convenient, and perfect for winter, more students than ever are taking my Correspondence Course for face readers. It’s a flexible mentoring program that helps you gain professional-level skills.  You do four assignments, each one at your own pace, and talk with me afterwards.  The goal—as with anything I teach—is to help you find your own way to be good at it, not turn you into a Rose clone.  Instead, I’ll coax you into using your gifts as fully as possible.  Be bold!  Show the world more of your light!  Read more about this program here.

For those who do travel, you’re invited to come visit or study with me in England.  My first workshop will be held at the august Inner Potential Centre in London, and folks are coming from as far as Sweden and Switzerland. Woo-hoo! In addition, I’ll be doing individual sessions, have a stand and lecture at the Kempton Park Expo, and even do my first live TV and radio interviews. Click here for details and come visit. Please tell your friends in England. We’ll have a jolly good time!

INCOMPAARABLE JACK

After the magnificent but aurically stay-put Johnny Carson, you couldn’t ask for a bigger contrast than Jack Paar.

Paar blazed on and off television, hosting “The Late Show” from 1957-1962.  In those years, he virtually invented the TV talk show, setting a standard that few have approached, none surpassed.  During that time Paar’s maverick spirit kept him evolving so quickly, it’s easy to read many fascinating changes.  Let’s start with face reading.  What changed, what didn’t, comparing these photos?  (For the second one, focus on the large colored image in the center of the black-and-white photo montage.)

PHOTO ONE

PHOTO TWO

Three strong characteristics didn’t change.  Paar kept the face proportions I call the Passion Power Style, with forehead wider than cheeks. (Johnny had this too, remember?) It relates to accomplishing more than most.

Jack, like Johnny, also had an unusual version of Priority Areas.  Comparing the face’s vertical lengths, which do you notice was significantly the smallest?

I: Hairline to eyebrow

II: Eyebrow to nose bottom

III: Nose bottom to chin bottom

Did you notice the small Priority Area IIs?  This suggests humility, being willing to let other people push their ambitions ahead of yours. More than anything else on either man’s face, this helps you understand why they were willing to walk away from their shows at the height of fame.

Back at faces, hey, there must have been some way these two men looked different!  Unlike Johnny, Jack’s chin had a Macho Knob, with a big dimple in the center.  This symbolizes a strong will, with plenty of pride in his independence, and a temper to match.  The dimple suggests Paar’s ability to charm others with his quirky rebelliousness, but the potential challenge was inwardly tearing apart his choices and actions, second guessing himself.

In general, Paar started the show with many facial asymmetries that evened out over time, indicating that he was a complex man who worked diligently to make himself more whole, something we’ll see in his aura, too.  But first, let’s check out some easy-to-see ways that Paar’s face changed.  To me, four differences are most significant.

See how his lip proportions changed?  Initially Jack had Blarney Lips, like Carson.   But the mouth’s emphasis flipped.  Instead of an extra-full lower lip, he developed an extra-full upper lip.  Meaning?  Initially, he was super-persuasive, highlighting facts and downplaying personal feelings.  Later, he preferred perceptive speech, emphasizing inner life, inner meaning.

Eyebrow shape changed, too.  Earlier, his brows had angles.  The corresponding detachment is very helpful for hosting a talk show.  Yet Jack developed curved brows, signaling increased emphasis in understanding emotional and psychological factors.

Check out Paar’s nose angling next.  First, he had The Fame Trait, a nose angled toward the right side of his head.  (New face readers, to tell left from right, remember that when seeing any face other than your own in the mirror, mentally cross over, as if about to shake hands with the person.)

A right-leaning nose suggests fascination with fame, or sometimes simply a destiny.  Look carefully at the later picture and you’ll discover that Paar’s nose moved its emphasis, becoming slightly left-angled.  He came to prize work for its personal—not public—significance.

Finally, notice this subtle but seismic shift for Jack Paar’s eye height asymmetries.  Earlier, his right eye was higher.  Later his left eye became higher.  Just the same thing happened with President Monroe, whose left eye rose after he left office, suggesting a change to his inner priorities.  (See the before-and-after pictures in Wrinkles Are God's Makeup, my advanced face reading book, on page 124.  (And, that book is recommended if you’re fascinated that 9 out of 10 ways a face changes over time do NOT involve wrinkles.)

What does it mean, having your eyes structurally shift in that way?  Earlier, Paar valued authority figures, experts, people with high social status.  Later, he preferred people with insight, the holders of psychological and spiritual wisdom.

Now, doesn’t all this make you curious to read his aura and find out more about how much Jack changed aurically?  Here’s one hint.  Every single one of Jack’s major chakras changed—actually changed so much that it altered more than all Johnny’s chakra changes put together.  (And remember, we’re comparing 5 years for Paar to 30 years for Carson!)

So prepare to be awed, aura readers, at these before and after photos.

Physical Chakra:  Paar started with gifts for being sprightly, funny and erratic—think of a jester in a royal court.  The amount of energy at his root chakra was small.  By the later photo, he had become far more grounded.  Moreover, he’d been through the kind of trauma you would expect from a thoughtful person as famous as he was: Reality had been broken and put back together repeatedly.  Paar developed the rare kind of psychological courage where this could have been his motto: “Life, do your worst. I don’t doubt I can take it, since I’ve already been through ‘the worst’ several times.”

Sexual Chakra: Very sexy and sensuous, he needed to have this going for him, just in terms of psychological balance.  Early in his TV talk show career Jack was, aurically, pretty much a “Talking Head.”  His brilliant intellect far outweighed the rest of his chakras.  Sex--when he remembered it--provided balance.

Power Chakra: Intellectual power was Jack’s forte: His charm came from there, as did his self-confidence.  The transformation to this already outstanding chakra was magnificent: Not only did Jack come to heal inwardly in ways that enabled him to balance his intellect with the rest of his personality, but the quality of thinking was altered.  Jack became strongly committed to world service, with a deep caring for people sticking out all over this part of his aura.

Emotional Chakra: By the time he starred in “The Late Show,” Jack had already been through emotional Hell and back, repeatedly. Clearly he’d had an eventful life, and he learned a lot about how to put himself back together. You’d expect him to have strong interest in psychology because his own healing had been strongly assisted by his intellect.  All that psychological growth intensified gifts of Jack’s soul, showing right in his heart chakra: Compassion and curiosity.

Over time, Jack continued to heal emotionally.  Although still a very complex man psychologically, he felt freer.  Feelings became more spontaneous, fresher, unencumbered.

Communication Chakra: Picture a very big sword, shiny with eloquence.  Picture it wielded by a warrior whose ideas will stick in the mind like a benevolent sword thrust. Then you’ll have the sense of Paar’s native auric gifts.  Over time, he became less confident, more self-doubting.  This improved his ability to interview because of genuine curiosity.  He felt that other people might know more than him.  (How many of us, in Jack’s position, would have had the wisdom to develop such humility?  Johnny, by contrast, never developed more than cocktail party-level curiosity.)

Spiritual Chakra: Triple the size of Johnny Carson’s fine third eye, Jack Paar had an uncommonly strong spiritual awareness.  Free of dogmatic boundaries, he was wide open to learn about the I Am quality of each individual.  A particular gift of his soul was spiritual perceptiveness.  None of this was lost over time, but Jack shifted into a bigger awareness of the world.  If you’ve read auras of astronauts who have traveled through deep space, there’s a touch of that in this TV broadcaster, so deeply did he reflect on the implications of what his work could offer humanity.

Soul Expression Chakra: Simply huge!  Like Carson, Paar was in one of those meant-to-be jobs, fulfilling his destiny.  If you asked him, he’d probably have admitted that his job was the one easy thing in a life riddled with self-doubt.  Over time, Jack’s soul connection deepened, becoming even more beautiful.  And what was the biggest growth area for Jack Paar’s soul? Humility.

So, there you have it.  Two middle-aged white men. Two successful stars, seemingly doing the same kind of work. If any friend asks you, “Why bother with deeper perception?” just think about all you have learned today about Jack and Johnny.

CUTTING REMARKS

In January, I was moved by this email, excerpted below:

“Your book, Flying in Spirit, has helped me tremendously, thank you. I was wondering if you have ever come across people who self-injure and could this condition possibly have anything to do with empathy?

“Self-injury has been a part of my life since I was in the seventh grade.  I'm 34 now and haven't inflicted injury on myself in two years. Your book describes so many aspects of who I've always been that I've started to wonder if the unbearable emotions that had caused me to cut may have been related to empathy in some way.

”I ask only because there are so many people out there that need to cut in order to survive, I wish I could help them somehow.”

Yes, taking on pain from others can definitely contribute to behaviors like cutting.  Skill as an empath can make a difference.  Individual sessions may also help, by removing old patterns like cords of attachment out of the aura.

If you’ve become more skilled as an empath, be generous in sharing with friends what you know. Even people who aren’t yet into metaphysics can understand this basic concept: Nobody is doomed to spend life unconsciously picking up from others.

And if you’ve ever tried the usual psychological approaches, like “Watching your boundaries,” you know they don’t really do the job like the approaches in Empowered by Empathy: 25 Ways to Fly in Spirit.  It takes spiritual consciousness to solve problems that happen on the level of consciousness.  So dare to step out of the mainstream and let people know about these more-or-less underground, leading-edge techniques.

NAME THIS BABY

Ever wonder about the weird names of new products, from cars to toothpastes?  I’m in a state of wondering myself, because I’m in the process of putting my how-to video about auras into DVD format.

This will be a great chance to improve upon my previous title for the video: “Thrill Your Soul: Inspiration for Choosing Your Work and Relationships.”  So far, I haven’t figured out how to convey that this workshop in a box contains leading-edge techniques for in-depth aura reading; that rather than the “read the colors” stuff many folks associate with auras, these techniques and understandings help people find out their authentic and effective ways (visual or not) to access Celestial Perception.  I’ve struggled to convey that the highlight of the workshop is techniques for an amazing kind of research, where you can figure out in depth and detail, from all of your chakras, the consequences of any life choice—including love relationships, career, and finding the work that thrills your soul.

Which of the three following titles do you vote for? Or, if you can think of something better, I’d be glad to consider it.  Just send me an email and know I’ll be so grateful for your help.

1) Your Aura Workshop:  Read auras all the way to the Soul with these quick & easy techniques.

2) Your Aura Workshop:  Life coaching made easier with deep insight into your perfect work and relationships.

3) Your Aura Workshop:  Find your soul work, your soul friends, your soul mate with these quick & easy techniques.
