FIRST LADIES IN WAITING
Pity First Ladies-in-Waiting like Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama. In America's quirky, media-defined voting arena, the tiniest slip-up could cost her husband the election. You don't need the background of a political pundit to know that no detail is too trivial to be considered fair game. Everything about these women will be deconstructed, from hairstyle to clothes to children, if any, and how well she's (supposedly) raising them. But don't pity today's major contenders too much. If they have one thing in common, it's strength. To learn more, let's read them deeper. FACE OFF To begin, let's do a bit of face reading, comparing head shots. Ms. McCain's head shot dates from 2005, but it's the best one I could find (making a reasonable effort) that shows her face straight on. Ms. Obama's was a candid photo, unlike the more posed one for McCain. To this face reader, it's amazing that few photographers would bother taking a shot suitable for physiognomy – straight on, a clear view. At least we have these ones!
POWER STYLE Cindy McCain: Passion Power Style (Her face is widest at the forehead.)She's a dynamic leader, very driven behind that tight smile. The potential challenge is impatience. If you've already read Wrinkles Are God's Makeup, you know that this power style isn't terribly common among the general population, about 1 in 200 people has it on even one side of the face. But among presidents, it's more like 1 in 4. Other face data being equal -- my little joke, since, even with identical twins, people's face data never is equal -- nobody accomplishes more in life than people with the passion power style. Sure enough, the flawlessly groomed Republican powerhouse known as Cindy McCain has, since her father's death in 2000, served as chair and primary stockholder in Hensley & Company, with an annual income of $300 million. You know, in her spare time. And so we could consider this facial trait the perfect balance to her husband's extreme Pacifist Power Style, a leadership style that hasn't belonged to a U.S. president since Richard Nixon – and even then, not during his full term, because Nixon's face changed a great deal, but at the time he authorized the Watergate break-in. (See more details in Wrinkles, pages 250-257.) Michelle Obama: Leaderlike Power Style (Her face is widest at the cheeks.)Uh-oh, this is how Michelle looks just like Hillary! This is the most in-your-face style of leadership. At the receiving end of her words and actions, you know you've been led. Yes, the potential challenge is coming across as "too strong." Her husband has the Passion Power Style. (Hmm, could we then say he looks a lot like Cindy McCain?) Certainly, if Barack wins the election, we won't just see a Democrat back in the White House. We'll have a President with the Passion Power Style and a First Lady with the Leaderlike Power Style, just like Bill and Hill. MOST SIGNIFICANT "VERY" Extreme items of face data are the greatest clues to character. Every face has at least one, even if it is as simple as being extremely symmetrical. Our two ladies do not disappoint. Cindy McCain: McCain has such a Nose Bonus! This is how she looks just like Tiger Woods and… me! A Nose Bonus, a.k.a. "hanging columella," is that extra bit of nose between and below the nostrils.Meaning: Service to others matters a lot to this woman. Cindy McCain isn't just the second wife of a Republican politician. A philanthropist in her own right, she even persuaded her husband to adopt a fourth child, a needy Third World kid. Maybe she didn't receive the attention of an Angelina Jolie, but she did the mega-good deed nonetheless. What's the potential challenge with a Nose Bonus? You can't stay involved in a job if you don't feel that you're helping people. No problem there, campaigning on behalf of her Senator husband. Whether you agree with a politician's choices or not, he's always going to be helping someone. Michelle Obama: Notice her very angled eyebrows? This is a woman with definite opinions, a management perspective. My favorite story about her, from Wikipedia, is that she negotiated a deal with her husband that, in return for supporting his run for president, she made him promise to quit smoking.Potential challenges abound, when the one with the very angled eyebrows is a First Lady-in-Waiting. Strong opinions? From a wife? From a presidential candidate or, possibly, a First Lady? When we read auras, it will be fun to explore how hard Michelle Obama works already at toning things down. OPENNESS TO VOTERS I love reading lower eyelid curve, the shape of eyes in the lower half. Read it on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is like a straight line and 10 is like the lower half of a circle. They're both good, of course, in my system of Face Reading Secrets®, which is based on the premise that "God don't make no junk." All shapes from 2-9 are good, too. What matters is what they mean. In addition, consistency from one photo to another can bring useful insight. There can be a great deal of variation in this facial attribute. Researching this article, I've looked at many photos to develop perspective about how different each woman looks in recent photographs. Can you guess which of the two shows this kind of mobility, which woman is more consistent? Cindy McCain: Yes, Cindy McCain wins the prize for lower eyelid curve consistency. Maybe this isn't on a scale with the Nobel Peace Prize. Maybe you've never heard of this prize, or this facial characteristic!Well, here goes: That extreme straightness beneath each eye signals extreme loyalty to your own personal in-crowd. With straight lower eyelid curve, your potential challenge is being aloof, shy, or even judgmental about strangers. Once people have passed your test, however, your loyalty is great. Some of you skeptical face readers – and people interested in face reading may be among the most skeptical think-for-yourselfers on the face of the earth -- you may be thinking something along these lines: "Clearly that Cindy McCain has had a fair amount of plastic surgery, Botox, etc. done to her face. And face lifts can often produce super-straight lower eyelid curve. So couldn't that be the cause?" I'd answer yes and no. Yes, face lifts certainly do often produce super-straight lower eyelid curve. (My favorite example of this is the compare-and-contrast pix of Robert Redford on Page 208 of Wrinkles Are God's Makeup.) But no, you can't discount facial characteristics just because they're a byproduct of cosmetic surgery. Everything about your face counts -- no matter how it got there. Actually, one reason face reading is so easy to do is that you don't have to snoop around into medical records to find out who has been having secret surgeries, then discount what you're seeing. Instead there's a give-and-take relationship between the inner person and the physical face. Change from the inside and you'll change in corresponding ways on the outside. And vice versa. Therefore, whatever you have COUNTS! For Cindy McCain, the aloofness that shows in her lower eyelid curve is a theme you'll find in many other facial characteristics. Michelle Obama: On the left side of her face, there is also a great deal of consistency, a 10. But her right eye shows a great deal of mobility. In our main photo here, it's a 3. But in this photo lower eyelid curve opens up into a 10.Omigosh, here's proof that Michelle really is a different person from Cindy! Seriously, Obama comes from a place of openness to strangers, having the potential challenge of also opening up to hurt feelings. However, it's a sure bet that this graduate of Princeton and Harvard Law School had ample opportunity to develop methods for emotional self-protection in public. The mobility in her right eye is, precisely, related to overcoming that challenge. Incidentally, where does Cindy show her greatest facial mobility? Surely it's in her eyebrow shape. In our main photo used for this reading, you may have noticed a straight right eyebrow, a slightly angled left brow. But in this photo, also quite recent, notice the VERY angled eyebrows. This suggests that Cindy McCain's intellectual outlook is not consistent. What exactly would be the meaning of that? We'll be sure to research that when reading her aura in Part 2 of this article. BTW, Because I'm tackling so much in this Zine, these face reading comments have been brief. So consider yourself invited. Yesterday I spoke with a brilliant, accomplished woman, "Barbara," who told me, "I've tried to read auras. But I just don't see them. I suppose I ought to let go more." What do I like about what Barbara said? She wants to read auras. That's smart. Just as math is the language you'll need to be a competent scientist, auras are the language you'll need for a depth understanding of any kind of energy work or psychological healing – Reiki, aromatherapy, hypnosis, EFT, psychotherapy, etc.—whether as a professional, a hobbyist, or a consumer. Also, Barbara hasn't given up yet. According to myth, anyone born with "the gift" started reading auras right in the crib. Such nonsense! And here's the silliest part. What other major life skill would you expect to learn just by waiting to see something? Did you maybe need a little help at the following?
Auras are three-dimensional bodies, made of energy. Even before your crib days, you had a fully developed gift set for Deeper Perception. If your gift set was 95% or more visual, in a particular way, you HAVE been seeing auras your whole life. Such people are very rare and not superior to others, just people whose gifts match up with what society tells us to expect. The rest of us need a little help in learning to use our personal gift sets for aura reading. Again, I emphasize that these different gift sets aren't inferior. I have taught thousands of people how to read auras in depth and detail. I could certainly teach you, whether in person during an Intensive, through Personal Mentoring (over the phone, this works fine), or through my books. Aura Reading Through All Your Senses offers you an in-depth, flexible course. It will take you anywhere from beginner to very advanced, also giving you the chance to experiment with over 100 techniques for practical skills like watching auras when you watch TV or my three-part Lie Detector Test. To my knowledge, this is the first book in print anywhere to explain how to read auras from regular pictures. Of course you can do this! And what about the spiritual component? Sure aura reading could be considered spiritual. (For me, that's the major point of learning to do it.) For this reason, unfortunately, people like Barbara imagine that one must wait for it to descend upon you, like a dove. You can. In which case, you could be waiting for a very long time. Imagine if someone wanted to learn to drive a car and thought, "I just need to let go more." That's many years spent in the parking lot, wondering when you'll be inspired to put the key in the ignition. If aura reading were a trivial skill, I'd say, "No problem." But in America we have a major election coming up, the most important one of my lifetime and, maybe, yours. Even for the sake of voting responsibly, you'd want to read auras – not as your only input, because objective reality must come first, with speeches and facts about previous actions, etc. Nothing can cut through hype and spin like Deeper Perception. Let's use these photos to read the auras of the main candidates' wives. In each of these photographs, she's campaigning and speaking directly into a microphone. Verbal Truthfulness in Public databank at the Throat Chakra
Michelle Obama: Yoicks! The passion could knock you over. Obama delivers the truth as she knows it, carefully – even meticulously – arranged point by point. Her intellect dominates, but soul and heart back it up. Especially interesting to me, Michelle Obama is very strongly connected to her physical body. She's no talking head. In fact, she's more strongly connected to her physical self than her husband is to his physical self. For a senator, that's not unusual, but for a politician or political wife it is very, very unusual to be so keenly present in her physical embodiment. Mind you, I have read auras of every first lady pictured in Wrinkles Are God's Makeup, from Mamie Eisenhower up to this day. Never have I read one who possesses the physical connection and physical intelligence of Michelle Obama.
Cindy McCain: Equally passionate and honest, Cindy McCain is a formidable adversary. She wasn't just born to uncommon wealth. She was born to power.It's highly unusual for any American woman to connect strongly and consciously to great power. In my experience, it is especially unusual if the woman meets the high-status social ideal of blonde, unwrinkled, thin, etc. For women with trophy wife potential, power often comes through how she looks… and stops right there. By contrast, Cindy McCain's aura carries authority, a sense of rightness and, even, invincibility. For me, this quality comes through as the element of metal. Her system just shimmers with it. To me, metal corresponds to worldly power and status, much like a sheriff's badge in the old American West. Whatever the words pouring out of that throat chakra, Cindy's message is not only "I will win." but a hint of sanctuary for those frightened souls in today's version of the Wild West, "Choose the McCain ticket for safety. Or else be afraid. Be very afraid." Verbal façade WHILE DELIVERING POLITICAL SPEECH at the Throat Chakra
Michelle Obama: "I'm a plain spoken, down-to-earth woman who is willing to tackle real problems for people from all income groups."
Cindy McCain: "I'm a shrewd, accomplished woman who knows more than you do about the real secrets of power and how to get things done. I can help gain benefits that you have no access to without my support. And I will model for you what it is like to be a winner." EMOTIONAL CONNECTION TO THE Public databank at the HEArT Chakra Michelle Obama: She cares about human suffering. However, she is no weeper or sentimentalist. Her way is to transform victim-like experiences into anger, then use that energy to accomplish things. Note: I'm not calling her an "angry person" but someone who knows how to make use of energy that shows up as anger. In her heart chakra, you can find traces of the many times in her own life when she has picked herself up, dusted herself off, and done something. Although Michelle leads with her masculine energy at this chakra databank, feminine energy is present as well. It has a protective quality, like a mother who will fiercely defend her children. Is this the traditional First Lady femininity? Couldn't be more different. Michelle Obama is no nurturing Laura Bush type of woman, which could cause her to appear strident to some, hugely appealing to others. Cindy McCain: She does have that traditional First Lady femininity. In her heart, Cindy is enormously maternal. She puts aside the power attributes that show so strongly in her throat chakra, root chakra, etc. The love emanating from this woman, contemplating service as First Lady, is absolutely dazzling. I do notice a quality of rigidity here, as well. It reads to me like this, "Accept my support on my terms and I will give to you unstintingly. However, if you're unappreciative, or don't want to do things my way, I cast you off without a second look. Simply put, I will not help you. You won't deserve it." Therefore, I suspect that Cindy McCain can be a polarizing figure in her way, too – although it wouldn't really show up until after she was installed in the White House. With the qualities of this databank, expect her to be very generous to her supporters yet emotionally unavailable to those who displease her. WAY OF RELATING TO MONEY databank at the root Chakra Michelle Obama: Here's a woman who knows the power of money, not because she has always had it but because she knows how to get it. Practicality is a significant talent here. Another is ingenuity. She is a brilliant problem solver and strategist with the patience to find, then follow, her way through any labyrinth. Does she do simple, however? Not at all. Call it the plight of the very brainy. Solutions that appeal to Michelle may not appeal to the multitudes. This could be a problem because, as you may have noticed, politicians and their wives don't have the luxury of telling the American people: "Some of you are just plain stupid. And many of you make yourselves more stupid than you needed to be." So, although she doesn't blame people for being poor or financially troubled, I find a potential challenge with impatience for people who are passive, irresponsible, or unwilling to do mental math more complicated than 2 + 2. The comical part, to me, is how this databank of Michelle's could never, ever be the databank of a Republican. Her soul-level gift is to help the have-nots. Cindy McCain: Here's a woman who knows the power of money, and not only because she always has had it and came into this life (and this aura) convinced of "Prosperity Consciousness." It's hard for her to understand how people who do the right things could not be wealthy. And there is something compelling about this, as a soul-level gift to model for others, giving voters a chance to identify with a First Lady who is rich and thin and glamorous. For some of us, such a thrill of identification is what keeps us watching TV. Deep down, we're wondering, could a lifestyle like Cindy's be contagious? Certainly anyone who has read about, and believed in, The Secret, should find Cindy McCain a compelling role model. The comical part, to me, is how this databank of Cindy's could never, ever be the databank of a Democrat. Her soul-level gift is to model benevolent use of wealth, noblesse oblige for voters, and her unshakeable expectation that there always will be plenty of money for all. personal enjoyment of political wifehood databank at the high heart Chakra Michelle Obama: Golden light pours in. Political engagement thrills Michelle's soul. She was born for this. And "This" isn't just a matter of comfort or interest or wanting her husband to succeed. Michelle Obama is 100% willing and eager and ready to move into the White House. Cindy McCain: Open up your heart of compassion, Zine readers. You'll find something lovely here, but not simple. Struggle – that's the bottom line. Maybe struggle to meet the pressures of political life contributed to her three-year addiction to prescription painkillers. (Think of the great Betty Ford, another self-sacrificing political wife.) Cindy isn't ambivalent about money or power or having authority over people's lives. By contrast, political wifehood greatly tests her will and loyalty. They've always gotten her through. And her use of them now may inspire you, as it does me.
