SONIA SOTOMAYOR'S AURA AT THE CONFIRMATION HEARING
American political life has been delivering us superheroes lately. Have you, too, noticed some exceptionally noteworthy people in public life? For me, these days, it's:
Okay, I'm just kidding about that irrepressible Dick. He's such fun! For this Zine, let's celebrate Sonia Sotomayor, Supreme Court Justice in the making, with an Empath Merge. Then, later in this 'zine, there is a follow-up Face Reading. Sonia's Aura at the Confirmation Hearing Sotomayor isn't exactly smiling in this photo. It comes from the hearing that may go down in judicial history as "Wherein Desperate Conservatives Trying to Provoke the Wise Latina." Although I didn't watch the full hearing, I saw more than enough scoldings about Sotomayor's comment, "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion." This rather impassive photo was admirable under the circumstances. Throughout the full hearing, Sotomayor never screamed. Nor did she become nearly as over-the-top as her inquisitors like Senator Graham. Behaviorally, that's remarkable. Did you wonder about what was going on within her? Aura Reading to the rescue. Here's a hint about what I found. Seeing her impassive body language on TV, knowing about her history, I figured that Sonia Sotomayor just had great self-discipline. Seeing the likes of Lindsay Graham trying to frighten her, I assumed that she felt contempt for him and his white bread Senate brethren. Was I ever wrong! Communication in Public, Aura Reading Databank at the Throat Chakra Sonia Sotomayor's gift of the soul: She can take any conversation, slow down the dynamics to a manageable pace (modeling energetically for others how to defuse intense emotions). This woman is a living fount of gravitas. What else is going on at the time of this photograph?: Watching, I figured that the beleaguered Sotomayor must be sitting on a load of anger. Heck no. She's laughing inside. Come to think of it, she's right: Fools are on parade. Maybe they could frighten someone who is not secure in her power, but isn't Sotomayor, not by a (concealed-weapons) long shot. Emotions in Public, Aura Reading Databank at the Heart Chakra Sonia Sotomayor's gift of the soul: "I will be of service in this world regardless of what is going on around me." What else is going on at the time of this photograph?: Technically, at this chakra databank, Sonia has a longstanding energetic sub-routine. This kind of wiring within a person's aura is akin to a detour on a highway. If Sotomayor were my client, I would facilitate moving it out and helping her to find another way to be equally effective without carrying so much STUFF inside. Energetic sub-routines are good coping devices, but there's always an alternative solution to life's challenges, a solution where a person's aura can function more normally. Yet she'll be at least as effective as she was when stuck with the energetic sub-routine. Regardless, I must admit that this sub-routine may not be good for Sotomayor's happiness as a person but does help her to be especially effective in challenging situation. The price she pays is that many of her Heart Chakra databanks are disabled, ones that mediate her own human experience. Databanks that support Sotomayor as a World Server are, on the whole, much stronger than ones that could bring more joy and vitality to her human life.
Service to Humanity, Aura Reading Databank at the Third Eye Chakra Sonia Sotomayor's gift of the soul: She brings the perspective of an ancient being, someone who has incarnated in various worlds again and again, gaining a level of evolution that could make most of our guardian angels jealous. Holistic Knowing has ripened within Sonia, over the lifetimes. "Holistic Knowing" means the ability to be aware of many people simultaneously, reading them at depth. In Sonia's case, at this chakra databank, Holistic Knowing brings awareness of behaviors, motivating factors, likely outcomes of behaviors. Sonia Sotomayor understands causation in human life, the push-pull factors. They aren't what make each person tick but, rather, what makes each of us act. Watching Sonia at the surface level, bringing my human perspective to the Confirmation Hearing on TV, I figured she had to work really hard to stay cool and civil. But that's projecting my own experience into that confirmation room. Which of the players in that hearing room got hot and bothered? This Aura Reading suggests it was her opponents, plus supporters like me. Sonia felt cool and calm inside, no acting required. She felt that way because spiritual awareness made it abundantly clear that her confirmation was a meant-to-be. What else is going on at the time of this photograph?: Over the years, Sonia has deepened her implacability. Scar tissue, in this chakra databank and elsewhere, traces the history of how this brave soul has overcome real-life difficulties. She has learned to "play it cool" as a survival strategy, not a game or cute kind of image. As the judge's career has developed, strength has only intensified. There's no edge of bitterness or struggle. She owns that strength. Sonia Sotomayor strides the earth like an elephant, the strongest animal in the jungle. Soul Thrill, Aura Reading Databank at the High Heart Chakra Sonia Sotomayor's gift of the soul: This wise Latina knows how to please herself, make the choices in human life that express her human soul. Her gift for doing this involves a sense of rightness, a balance. Whenever she advocates for her own happiness, whether it's choosing this friend or that hobby or that dinner date, Sotomayor feels herself living in balance. Should she find herself working too hard, neglecting herself on the human level, she will be prompted from within: More balance is needed. What else is going on with soul thrill at the time of this photograph? Joy is just pouring out, overflowing, from this chakra databank.. This is no mere cat-and-mouse glee, where Sonia knows that she is outsmarting some creepy senators. This is a pure, soulful glee. Sonia is doing what she came to earth to do. Her human soul is well prepared to win this contest. Such a vindication of her efforts over the years! Such a triumph after huge struggles in her human life! Snoopy dancing – that's an image of glee that you can relate to if you have read the old "Peanuts" cartoons. Sonia Sotomayor, stolidly occupying her chair in the hearing room, inwardly showered with golden light – that can be another image of glee. Tales of Hinduism, like the Srimad Bhagavantam (my idea of a fun read, back in the day) include wonderful stories where an earthly hero will be showered by the gods with flower petals or gold. That's the aurically complete image of Sonia S. in the courtroom, whether Lindsay Graham or other viewers, knew it or not. THE FIERCE INDEPENDENCE OF SONIA SOTOMAYOR (A fACE rEADING) Let's bolster our understanding of Senora Sotomayor by checking out some of her most distinctive Face Reading data. This would be her strongest possible motivator for decisive action, doing what needs to be done. Potential challenge: Really, really annoyed when she is outvoted? Angle of right eye, close to even (Shift over to tell right from left in a photo, as if shaking hands. Compare the outer and inner corners of Sonia's right eye. They're very close to even, and even is very rare.) Talent: In her work life (in contrast to personal life), exceptional realism. Potential challenge: Annoyed when people are swayed by fantasy, prejudice, or other causes of not seeing reality for what it is? No eyelid thickness (Don't expect Sonia Sotomayor to earn extra income on the side by taking a part-time job as eyeshadow model. You wouldn't see eyeshadow on this gal unless she were to close her eyes. From the front you can see no eyelids at all, although structurally she does have double eyelids.) Talent: Existential independence. Deep down, Sonia doesn't feel the need to be loved by strangers or acquaintances. She acts as her own person, taking her frame of reference from her own values. Potential challenge: Surprisingly independent? Chunky nose tip (It's large in proportion with the rest of her nose and her face.) Talent: Valuing financial security. By extension, expect Sotomayor to be very sympathetic to economic interests of minority group members. Potential challenge: Over-emphasizing the importance of money, and over-valuing legal channels to provide money for minority group members? CONCLUSION: Don't be surprised if Sonia Sotomayor really does pull a David Souter. Given his VERY out-angled ears, I could have predicted that George Bush's appointee to the Supreme Court would be fiercely independent, not the sure-fire conservative he was expected to be. For different reasons, I expect Sonia Sotomayor may well vote conservatively in many instances. Will she show empathy as a wise Latina? Yes, I do expect her to support minorities, in opposition to Justices Roberts and Alito. Other than that, expect the unexpected. In terms of life experience, Sotomayor does have empathy. And any clairaudient listener to her voice during the confirmation hearings would have noted kindness in her voice and an earthiness unknown to any other current Supreme Court justice. BUT, related to reading her aura, I believe it is important to make the distinction between kindness and emotional warmth. Her kindness flows from a spiritually based desire to improve life for humanity, not the mushy-gushy stuff of which most human hearts are made. |
