Media Interview #771
September 20th, 2007 by Rose Rosetree
Listen up, Blog-Buddies. One of my favorite radio interviewers has invited me back to his show this Friday for two hours “in the bathtub together.” (We’ll be explaining this technical term, no doubt.) You can listen from dry land, and I recommend that you do, because Rob McConnell, pictured here, is a wild man. So listen in and if you’re feeling really brave, also call in. It won’t cost you a dime to dial this number: 877-528-8255.
On air, we’ll also be talking–I hope–about my brand new book, Cut Cords of Attachment: Heal Yourself and Others with Energy Spirituality. Since the book was only published a few days ago, this would be my first media interview about it.
Here’s something surprising, based on my experience with talk shows in general and Rob’s in particular—yes, this will be my 771st media interview so far. It is very easy to get on the air when you call in to the live broadcast. Except for the hour I spent as a guest on “The Diane Rehm Show,” the radio phone lines have been wide open. That is especially true of Rob’s show, given the time, 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., EST. So don’t be shy.
Often Rob has me read faces and auras of other people, so here’s an introduction to the guy with the gorgeous voice, a paranormal expert who seems pretty darned normal to me. Yes, let’s turn the tables, with some face reading, aura reading, and empathic merge on my friend Rob McConnell.
About his face, let’s focus on those eyebrows for some Face Reading Secrets (R). Aha! It isn’t a woolly mammoth we’re reading here. He’s a broadcaster from The Land of “Eh.” And those ample Canadian eyebrows contain deep angles that relate to a managerial mindset. Even while Rob woos you with his voice, inwardly he’s observing and assessing. If things don’t go exactly the way he wants, he’ll tweak the conversation. No shyness, either. (Of course, it is his show!)
Potential challenge with angled eyebrows is intimidating others, and I must admit that sometimes, while Rob has interviewed me, I have inwardly gulped. This is not necessarily an easy thing to do while talking to a listening audience so large that Rob calls ‘em “The X-Zone Nation.”
For aura reading, I would love to describe the “Relating to Reality” databank at Rob McConnell’s root chakra. Just how down-home is he for a paranormal expert? Or a long-time radio personality? Or man who wears only one watch? (As you may know from a recent blog post, I have actually been known to wear three.)
Rob McConnell root chakra reveals a great big heart, plus a strong spiritual connection. Both are such important soul-level commitments that they show up in how he relates to external reality. I also notice that Rob’s root chakra reveals an unusually keen awareness of human suffering, even though I’ve never heard him talk about this on the air. He really cares about making a difference.
For the empathic merge, I’m gonna sail into his “Communication in public” databank at the throat chakra. Of course, for Rob, for decades this has meant “Speaking on the radio.” Here is what I experience, briefly being him in that way.
-
Physically, Rob gets himself really comfortable as a preparation to communicate. Think major recliner comfort, even if he is in a recording studio.
-
Psychically, Rob makes it a point to connect inwardly with his audience. (And if you think that all media personalities do this, think again. Even better, read their auras or do empathic merges. I think you’ll find, as I have, that TV and radio broadcasters are often surprisingly narcissistic, plus very adept at hiding it.)
-
Then Rob’s words roll out towards the heart of each listener, sounding a kind of spiritual “Wake-up call.”
They say virtue is its own reward. For Rob’s kind of good deeds on the radio, he receives a spiritual lifting every time. No wonder, by this stage in his career, he specializes in the paranormal. The so-called normal can no longer contain him. Rob isn’t larger than life. He’s large IN life.

Rose,
I like the way you use several different methods of deeper perception to read one person. I’m used to you doing face reading and aura reading, but you have added the empathic merge to this example. Even though it may be what you often do with your clients, here it is evident in a way that those of us who are learning can view and read about for ourselves, how you do what you do. It inspires others to find the way that they can use their own gift set. Not the best way to take a test, like I did, however.
Thanks, Colleen.
About that test, as referred to in your posts here: http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/?p=40#comments
I was shying away from responding due to my loathing of controversy and being counter-culture. (Anyone who knows me will tell you I am the most unlikely candidate for my outrageous profession, but that’s another story, LOL.)
Anyway, here is my opinion. I don’t believe in tests about perceptiveness of any kind.
Instead, I believe in healing, should someone hit a wall of limitation.
Also, I believe in studying solid techniques from people who have expertise, an option which a surprisingly large number of people never consider, but instead try to wing it. (Even baby birds, fully equipped with wings, learn from Momma Bird.)
Now those who train psychics or air traffic controllers or others are entitled to hold a different point of view. But. as you know, I train empaths to be practitioners of Energy Spirituality, or whatever other type of healing they prefer.
For this, it is horribly irrelevant to take tests. Words like “cruel,” “unproductive,” and “inappropriate” also come to mind. In my new book, Cut Cords of Attachment, I explain why, giving context. Here, I’ll just say, “Why bother to fulfill somebody else’s test? Why live for that, EVER?”
For example, consider that test you described. To me, instead of deciding from a photo if someone is quite dead or not (yet), I would rather learn about gifts of that person’s soul–if doing an empathic merge for my own benefit. Or, if doing the merge as a healer, what would matter would be just this: Have I helped this person to the best of my ability.
Let scientists do tests. Let mystics bless the world. As for trying to persuade skeptics about any form of deeper perception, offhand I can’t think of a bigger waste of time.
Nevertheless, I am curious about how the rest of you’all relate to testing about deeper perception, intuitive growth, etc.
Chime in! I may be opinionated, but that’s for how I treat myself and those who study directly with me. I’m also curious about everyone whose path is related to mine, so do tell about how you find YOUR way.
Dear Rose,
Thanks for that comment. It doesn’t suprise me that you have the opinion that you do..in fact, I agree with you. What I learned most from taking that test was how irrelevant it was, not to mention confusing…but did reveal someone’s attempt to measure a very narrow perspective of what they think intuitive diagnosis is or isn’t.
Your comments, here, give me pause…why did I bother to put myself through that in the first place, unless I was trying to prove something to myself?
It was fun to tune in to the X Zone Radio Hour last night until way early this morning. Way to go Rose!
I was definitely listening last night and even e-mailed Rob McConnell during the show to give feedback. You also read a friend of mine and his very out-angled ears, which I’m not surprised that you commented on.
Ears are some of my favorite features to read, and even when I’m not consciously face reading, my friend’s ears really popped out to me, for at least two reasons: 1) He shaves his head, making his ears even more noticeable, and 2) I have very in-angled ears. If I look at myself straight on in a mirror, I can never see either of my ears, not even my earlobes.
I have a funny store to share about that, too. I was walking in a tony section of an upper-middle-class town, and I was with the friend whose ears you read on the air.
I noticed what I thought might be a sex shop. There were a few mannequins in the store window scantily dressed in lingerie, and one of them was wearing a leotard that looked like a ferocious lion had slashed it in various places, holding a whip, and wearing a satin mask with holes cut out for the eyes.
I pointed and said, “Look.” My friend almost started jogging toward the store, and I, with my in-angled ears, said, “What are you doing?!?” He, with his out-angled ears, said, “Cool, let’s go check it out.”
Yeah. Me, I blushed and turned my head away. Him? Couldn’t understand why I was embarrassed.
It was funny that Rob McConnell deadpanned you and almost didn’t let you read my eyebrows! I was listening and was like, “Oh, c’mon! Let her read something.”
I listened to the show also. I wish I had a picture of my teeth to submit. Both of my upper canine teeth are longer than the rest of my teeth, and my bicuspids next to them are almost as long. My teeth have a few other noticeable characteristics as well. I remember watching a television show a long time ago where the narrator said that some indigenous culture in Africa or India files down canine teeth because they are too animal-like, but I would not give mine up!
Smart choice, Ryan. “Animal-like” shouldn’t really be considered a horrible or surprising attribute, for a human. Anyway, these indigenous folk are obviously not using my system of Face Reading Secrets(R) but something a tad more judgmental.
Point of clarification, my friend: The place to submit photos for face or aura reports is through my website, not this blog. Use this link to help you decide what to get: http://www.rose-rosetree.com/orderrpts.htm.
Incidentally, you can learn more about why I needed to set this personal boundary at this blog page:http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/?page_id=58
Ryan, as always, thanks so much for writing.
