    Journey with Rebecca and Rose

October 5th, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

“Journeys with Rebecca” is a wonderful show. You can hear it every Saturday at this link: http://www.journeyswithrebecca.com/main.htm I especially hope you will listen and call in this Saturday, October 6, 9-10 p.m. EST because I will be Rebecca’s guest. We’ll focus on Cut Cords of Attachment: Heal Yourself and Others with Energy Spirituality. How do I know that this show is so wonderful? I’ve been on it before, years ago, so I got to sample this sparkling broadcaster’s thoughtful style as an interviewer. Here’s one way to meet her without having to invest in a time travel machine. Just read Rebecca’s face and aura from the photo here!

Her last name is Jernigan, and if you’re thinking, “Hmm, Jernigans with Rebecca,” we are sharing a thought.  Besides listening to the show, you can interact by sending emails while we talk, sounding off at mailbag@journeyswithrebecca.com . Depending on the flow, Rebecca may also give out a phone number so you can talk live with us and the listeners. You are, of course, welcome to comment here about any reactions to the show, but I won’t be able to read them until after the interview itself.

Saturday’s radio conversation will be #772 on the Rose Rosetree List of Media Interviews and Articles.

Rebecca Jernigan is a mega-talented interviewer. Our interview is being posted at my website sometime today, Oct. 8, so listen at will. (Just click onto http://www.rose-rosetree.com and scroll down a while, because there’s a whole lot on the home page.)

This was our second interview in as many years. And there was such magic in this one, with loads of listeners emailing their questions about cords of attachment, or texting, or calling.

So Rebecca and I carried that momentum into our own personal conversation. After the show, we talked for more than an hour. We exchanged brief readings, the way intuitives do, sometimes, when we have found a respected colleague. One of the things she said rocked my world. And it might bring a little more truth-dance into yours, as well.

Not to leave you in suspense, I’ve just posted a summary of The Rebecca Cognition right here, http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/wp-admin/post-new.php?posted=78 . Here’s a hint. I call her idea “Bounce-back.”

    Dear Rose,
I just listened to the interview with Rebecca and found it delightful and very clear. I wish there would have been more time with Rose. It evoked a passion in me to do this for my self and others, but only with awareness and skill. I can’t wait for the book to arrive in the mail and am a bit impatient today. What an important topic and skill to have that allows one to really release the patterns that do not serve us!

I did listen to the interview and found it interesting and would like to learn more about cutting cords of attachment. How did you originally become aware of cords of attachment; how did you learn about them. BTW, I tried the link above and got error message: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I liked the part of the interview about how so many in the spiritual community feel that they are not supposed to “judge” other people…

First, I don’t like the word “judge,” I like the word “discern” better.

Second, aren’t we always using our discernment anyway, whether it is conscious or unconscious, whether it is well-developed or hardly developed at all? For the most part, I think we always act from our place of best knowledge, the best that we know how at a given moment in time. When we know better, we act better. We make better decisions.

I don’t know many people who knowingly and deliberately - or, worse, maliciously - make decisions they know are wrong for them or harmful to others.

So what’s this business about equating “judgment” with “discernment,” which is what I think the whole subtext of this business is really about. It’s a way for people to pass themselves off as “experts,” as if they know more about you than you know about yourself and therefore can make the decisions for you, hence a) taking your power away, and b) often benefiting themselves in the process.

Sorry of that sounds “judgmental,” but I never said that everyone - including me - in the metaphysical community was nice 100% of the time.
