    Seven Things About You

October 21st, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

Community is gathering. You’re telling me so during personal sessions. You’re showing it through your comments and guest posts on the blog.

Celebrating this, a blog re-design will soon be installed. I hope it will bring more fun than ever to “Deeper Perception made practical.”Let’s try this experiment in community creation. Please introduce yourself, letting this new group of friends know more about you, however you would like. If you wish, start by telling us the following seven things about you:

    1. Your name (first, first + last, or a fictional name of your choice for this community)
    2. Your age

    3. Your work

    4. Your website, if you have one

    5. Why you are interested in Deeper Perception

    6. What you would like to give and receive, as part of our informal community here

    7. A link to a photo that you have somewhere online

My photo here was taken on my first day teaching in Ireland, one of the landscapes of my soul.

I’m so interested in seeing your picture, and otherwise learning more about you.

    Dear Rose,

I think the above idea is great. I am gathering my information. I do not have a recent photo at all. I am not shy in person, but am very camera shy and self conscious about any photos of me.

I’m Anita, I’m 33-years-old, I’m in my last year of medical school, I do have a website but I’m not writing for it right now (I was one of the bloggers for Rose’s Portal but I had to take a break to focus on my last year of med school and applying for a residency position - totally understandable, right?).

I think I was born to be interested in Deeper Perception - somewhere along the line, quite early on, I think, I figured out that what people did wasn’t congruent with who they really were and I wanted to learn more about that (hello, face reading and reading auras!) - I especially got a good dose of that during medical school (hello, egotistical attendings and classmates and Oscar-worthy demonstrations of “fake empathy”).

I also knew that I was more sensitive than other people but not what I would call psychic (hello, being an empath!), that my parents were also the same (both my parents are empaths, what a surprise - NOT!).

I would like to give and receive honesty in this community, for people to be truly authentic. Some people in a spiritual community - in any community, really - feel that they must only say nice things in a really soft voice to be accepted and supported in that community. Well, the last time I looked around, the world was kind of a crazy place, with a lot of not-always-so-nice things happening in it. But even in the midst of all that craziness, there is love - and that love isn’t always “soft-looking,” sometimes it’s fierce, sometimes it’s declarative, sometimes it’s “Hey, world, wake up!” I want this community to be one where there is room for EVERYONE. Every person is safe and welcome here.

There is a photo of me and Rose on this blog from when Rose visited Circles of Wisdom in Andover, MA (I’m wearing the white blazer with a black shirt underneath).

I’m Melanie, age 31, and a designer of websites, print materials and logos as well as a performance fitness trainer and holistic nutrition and lifestyle coach. Of course, I won’t be pinned down!

Websites http://www.melttdesign.com and http://www.izfit.com , although I’m reorganizing/ restructuring a bit and plan to launch a couple new sites when I have the time…

I’m interested because of ROSE! Because of her energy, her honesty, and the excitement of drinking more from her ocean of knowledge!

I also feel there’s got to be a better way of relating in the world and understanding each other than what the “mainstream” tends to promote. Let’s get deeper!

I would like to give and receive support for honest and pure expression.

There’s an old pic of me on the far right of my fitness website: http://www.izfit.com/. My precious Nikon is in need of repair and I have been camera-less for a number of months!

My name is Jennifer, age 33. I work in a call center. I attended a class by Rose in 2004 about aura reading and found it fascinating.

It is hard to develop skill in these things when you don’t have someone to work with; no one that I know is interested in these things as far as I know.

So, I feel that I have a long way to go, although I do have Reiki I which is a help. I’m here to learn and maybe meet people. The posts here are interesting and I enjoy them.

I don’t have a picture online to direct you to, maybe later.

BTW, I looked at the http://www.izfit.com site and it looks interesting and fun.

My name is Ann, age 47. I work as a teacher of English as a Second Language in an art and design school and I support foreign students of this school by attending their art classes with them. I make sure they know what’s going on and I also work with several privately to help improve their accents. So I get to attend a lot of great classes, which I love, ’cause I’m an artist.

I also have training in Classical Chinese Feng Shui and have been slowly but surely been laying the groundwork for developing a feng shui practice. I don’t have a website yet and the online photo is in the works.

I’ve been studying various forms of metaphysics for several years now and in the course of learning some incredibly helpful and practical info about energetic self-care and “hygiene” as I like to call it, I was introduced to “Empowered by Empathy,” which changed my life. I’ve always loved Rose’s newsletter and am fascinated by reading auras. I was led more recently to connect with Rose to have some cords cut. Awesome, powerful stuff!

What excites me about the posts I’ve read, Rose, and Rose’s work, is the groundedness and effectiveness of the work and the commonsensical approach to Deeper Perception.

I’m basically a pretty down-to-earth person who’s highly sensitive and has a fascination for astrology and the energetic realm….and yet in my explorations, I have been so frustrated for the most part by the characters I’ve encountered! Of course now I’m just connecting dots that some of that is related to recently snipped cords that had been in place.

My experience in recent years has been, on the one hand, exploring communities related to a particular metaphysical teacher or healing modality in which so many people seemed incredibly ungrounded and without a whole lot of social skills or at the risk of sounding a bit like an old fart, plain old common courtesy. :-)

I’ve also been involved in 12 Step communities which are helpful, but in which there is no consciousness at all of the energetic world. What I’d love to do is to be able to integrate these threads….a community of authentic folks who embrace their humanity, with all the imperfections that come with that, but who have a basic sense of respect and regard and tolerance for others.

Folks who are sensitive and fascinated by Deeper Perception and who are accountable for their own stuff emotionally and psychologically.

Folks who enjoy sharing stories of their explorations and adventures with this work, who are passionate and enjoy having buddies to learn with and talk with who ‘get it.’

I’m the type who just loves this stuff. It makes complete sense to me, I can’t wait to learn as much as I can and I also do whatever I can to integrate what I’ve learned into my life.

Some of my frustrations in the past have been from thinking my buddies from various workshops were serious about what we were learning, but it turned out they weren’t. So then when I’d make a shift and excitedly want to share it, they’d disappear. That type of thing.

Mutual support, cheering on, fun, asking questions, swapping stories, learning together. That’s what I’d love to find here and hope that there might be others who feel the same way.
