Offering Preparation H, a GUEST POST by Lori

October 24th, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

Note: When the student is ready, the teacher will emerge. In this guest post, healer Lori Rock considers the situation of teachers who wait for those students. I know Lori from a group of Holistic Entrepreneurs that meets in Virginia. Many of you Blog-Buddies live too far away to come to our group’s meetings, but you may share the concerns she raised here… and enjoy her perspective. I do.

During our Holistic Entrepreneurs Alliance meeting on Monday in Virginia, we were having a lively debate, as we always do.  The topic was how we set our fee structure, when we might raise fees and how we communicate the change to our clients.  Many were giving ideas about timing when we must raise our fees.  The general state of the economy crept into the conversation.  How might that affect us?

My mind went immediately to a TV comedian’s rant about Preparation H.  (Unfortunately I don’t remember which comedian, as I always like to give credit where credit is due.)  The comedian said that he didn’t understand why Preparation H needed to advertise.  His point was if a person was in the need for hemorrhoid ointment, there would be no desert wide enough, no mountain tall enough, no sea deep enough to keep one from finding the lone rock under which Preparation H was hidden.  Advertising was simply overkill.

Holistic healers are like Preparation H Distributors for burning questions about life, and how to heal physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually.

Yes, we need to be conscious about balancing our fees, our clients’ situations and our society’s economic situation, as a whole.  Problems come when we focus on the concept that the general economy isn’t doing well, we focus on the perception that the world comes from a place of lack; a place of lack of abundance.  If that is our starting point, it doesn’t matter whether we are the best service providers in our niche, geographical area or product line, we will attract only the frequency of lack.  Indeed, if “lack” is our starting point, it wouldn’t matter if we were beer sellers and home improvement store owners — businesses which typically do well during recessions. We would still attract lack.

Instead, we need to remember not only the Law of Attraction, (the frequency of Abundance Attracts Abundance) but the Truth.  We, as Light Workers in the DC area, are bringing Light to one of the darkest places on earth.  As more people start to awaken, start to realize help is available for their deep “burning sensations,” they will come looking for us. Providing guidance, wisdom, hope and solutions to help others heal and grow is what we do.  We won’t have to find them.  They will seek us. We have the Ointment, a Prescription to Light the DC area and Mother Earth, as a whole.  We cannot fail.

    Namaste,

What a hilarious, yet profound analogy. Love it! And it’s interestingly synchronistic that I would come across this post right after receiving an email from a new client who said: “I’m amazed at your gift. It’s very special. Isn’t it wonderful how teachers and healers just sort of appear before you at just the right time? We only have to pay attention and know that we aren’t alone.” It must be my lesson for the day!
