Stealth Cutting of Cords, a GUEST POST by Ryan

November 3rd, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

I recently had an interesting dream involving cords of attachment.  I logged
onto Rose Rosetree’s website and noticed a header that says “DO NOT CUT THIS CORD OF ATTACHMENT!”

I do not remember who or what this cord of attachment was to,but that shadow part of me that likes to laugh at the whole “love and light” modality decided to go ahead and cut this cord of attachment.  And it felt so good to do something so wrong!

Afterwards I felt like a thief who had to go into stealth mode in order to avoid being detected with my new loot.  I
logged onto Rose Rosetree’s website again, but the text that said not to cut this cord of attachment had been replaced with a link that said “WHO CUT THIS CORD OF ATTACHMENT??”

I clicked the link, and it took me to a page offering a reward to anybody who would turn in the culprit.

As negative as this dream sounds, I think it was actually very positive. Since I learned how to cut cords of attachment from Rose’s new book, Cut Cords of Attachment, I have removed some very nasty cords — cords to people who, if they had awareness of cords of attachment, would probably be all too happy to consciously or unconsciously continue sending their sickening energy into me.

To these people, cutting the cords of attachment I had to them was criminal in this dream.  Rose’s website was probably involved simply because she is the person who introduced this very healing technique to me.

One of the later steps of cutting cords of attachment is creating a “bandage” that is left in place until the healing is complete.  My guess is that this dream is my subconscious mind’s way of sending me a message that an important healing
    has been completed.

Ryan, this is just delightful! One of the most interesting questions I have been asked so far, while in Japan, came from a woman who was worried that you might not be able to cut a cord of attachment to somebody really awful.

Even if you could cut that cord, she worried, maybe it would come back and you would have to re-do the process several times.

Actually, as you know since you have read the book, the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment(TM) include safeguards, as well as skills, so that these problems will not arise.

Imagine going to a dentist to have tooth pulled. Imagine having the dentist say, “Sorry, but I can’t pull that tooth. It is just too scary.” What would you think of that dentist’s level of skill?

Many practitioners today have not had adequate training for cutting cords, so they struggle or do work that just doesn’t do justice to the healing potential of this technology.

Nobody can stop you from cutting cords now, Ryan. Not even a worrisome dream can deter you. My friend, you’ve got skill!

Another interesting aspect of this dream is that I actually remembered it. I rarely remember dreams to the point that I sometimes wonder if I simply do not have regular dreams.

Perhaps if I was able to recall the details of this dream then it was fairly significant.

One cord I removed from myself was so big that 15 days was the response I received when I questioned how long the bandage needed to be in place. I had this dream on the night following the 15th day.

Ryan, that is fascinating. Now, I know some of you have been reading the new book, “Cut Cords of Attachment.” Anybody else have comments to share? Or just plain questions?

    Hi Rose,

I’ve been shifting and adjusting after my recent cord cuttings, and have inhaled the book and am sure to have lots of questions.

I’ve experienced some interesting shifts of energy, moods, the old stuff leaving and also interesting shifts physically, which prompted me to dip back into Empowered by Empathy in general, with a look to the section on grounding.

I’m intrigued by the area of aura size and weight gain/ physical size and would love to hear your comments on that. In one cord cutting, my after picture had my belly chakra all puffed up…which is what it’s literally seemed to do! I notice a bit of weight gain after each snipping, in spite of my efforts at grounding.

It actually feels like energy bloat more than fat, almost like a tire with more air just pumped into it, which I guess makes sense after stopping the huge energy drain I was experiencing.

Which then for some reason got me to thinking about Oprah Winfrey, whose aura must be enormous….and her struggles with her weight. Could it be that her body simply needs to be bigger to handle her big aura?

I’m very intrigued by this issue…especially as I wonder about whether to shop for new clothes or whether I’ll slim back down again! :-)

    All the best,

    Ann

Ann has sparked my interest, as well - I second those queries!

I’m enjoying practicing cord cutting, although I’ll admit that in my enthusiasm I may have over-cut during my first three days (4 a day!), but I’m now allowing myself some integration time.

I do have a couple of questions, actually - can cords be cut to an organization, or to a concept? For example, if I was employed by an organization where I felt negative energy, can I cut a cord to the organization as a whole?

Is there a way to cut a cord to a limiting belief, such as “I’m trapped in this low-income job?” Or are these things best served through a different process?

Can cords be cut to an organization? No, that would be psychic ties (as in the Energy Healing Intensive at the end of February, http://www.rose-rosetree.com/study.htm#HealingIntensive ).

Can cords be cut to a concept? No. Find out what really bugs you about that concept and go from there. Where does the concept connect to your personal life?

If an organization causes you to feel negative energy, maybe you’re just being perceptive! Remember to turn your empathy off when you go there.

As for limiting beliefs like “I’m trapped in this low-income job,” the causes can be far more complex than some belief. That is why “The Secret” won’t do much, alas.

Maybe it would help to do some regression therapy of the type that moves out frozen blocks. Maybe it’s time to make an objective change, such as learning more about career options in the post-modern marketplace.

You’re right that problems are healed through different methods. Bingo, Melanie!

    Dear Ann:

Oops, I didn’t mean to let your comment languish. You got me inspired to write the Oprah post, which I hope you and other Blog-Buddies have seen.

Regarding weight gain, there is no specific universal answer that connects it to cutting cords of attachment. For the healing time after a cord is cut (think “Homework etc., Step 12), a client does rebalance in a very personal way, and possibly that could involve eating whole chocolate Santas in one sitting at this time of year.

This sort of behavior would be minor, compared to the previous anguish of having that cord. (And not minor from the choco-Santa’s point of view. ;-))
