Reading James Hillman, GUEST POST by Colleen

December 11th, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

Ooh, Colleen has started something by offering to read James Hillman if she can find a photo. Her offer went like this:

I am going to go in a different direction,(away from politicians and celebrities), and request a reading of the brilliant James Hillman, author of the “Soul’s Code”. I have read this book again and again and I know you like it. If I can find a photo of him, I will read his aura and see what I get. (You’ll find the rest of Colleen’s comment here.)

Here’s a photo, my friend. When you have time, post away. And you other Blog-Buddies, ready to read faces and auras, or do empathic merges, you can’t aim much higher than Hillman.Click here to see a bigger version of the photo shown here.

Incidentally, Colleen, please consider this an opportunity, not a pressure. If you don’t find time, I’ll understand. Do all you Blog-Buddies know what Colleen does for a living? She’s a neonatal nurse. If it hadn’t been for one of those, I wouldn’t be here today, since this lifetime got off to a rough start. And can anything think of a more high pressure job?

Oh my gosh, I did not think my idea would turn into a guest post… but Rose, I know what you think of James Hillman, and rightly so! Be careful what you mention here:-) Everyone else has read someone… why not me?

I have two very long days coming up in the NeoICU. By the time I get there and come home it is over 15 hours later.

I will do this. I was just re-reading “The Soul’s Code” and thought “Why not him?” If anyone’s aura literally pokes and prods others to think about things in another way it is his!

I used to think it was his booming voice and the way he bristled when someone once asked him, “You’re asking us to think about this parent-child concept the way you do?”

“No!” Mr. Hillman fairly shouted back, “I’m challenging you to think about it in another way, not my way!! ”

It wasn’t just his words or voice, in that situation. It was his entire aura. There is so much more. I’ll be back.

P.S. (That was just an excerpt from a tape that I merged with some years ago).

Oh, Colleen, what a great idea! I also loved the Soul’s Code and reading it changed my life and definitely marked a turning point and shift in consciousness for me. I was just talking with my Intellectual Shapeshifter student the other day about the soul and its evolution, in the context of a conversation about dyslexia and ADD. I was sharing my skepticism about the label “ADD” and offering another way to look at it and reading your first post prompted me to recall that it was Hillman’s book that set me on the path of reading life and its events through a different lens.

I look forward to your reading!

    Dear Blog Buddies and Rose,

I just finished the reading from Mr. Hillman’s photo here. Well, I have yet to develop a consistent format for doing so, on an adult.

I went chakra by chakra and and asked at each one after taking a couple of vibe raising breaths and trusting what I got.

Well, that worked for the most part, but some things from just everywhere kept popping out and some of the things I got were strongly repeated in different ways.

I merged with the photo and felt/experienced many different things. Some are a bit difficult to articulate as well. Now I must put it together in written form.

Thanks, Rose, for giving me this challenge as I do not feel as secure in what I “get.” I need practice in pulling it together for others to read. Babies are very easy for me. I’ve been doing this for years, but never for a blog. I felt a huge presence… very much like a “warrior for the soul”, if that makes any sense.

Colleen, this totally makes sense. I especially am impressed with “I merged with the photo and felt/experienced many different things. Some are a bit difficult to articulate” —- well, you bet, Colleen.

You are building a coordination between experiences at the deepest level of perception and your own languaging ability. This will serve you in good stead.

You could make an analogy between this kind of coordination and learning to talk in the first place. Keep going.

“Warrior for the soul” is marvellous language.

Keep on being that courageous leader yourself, Colleen. I’m very proud of you.
