    Contest Ends Dec. 31

December 26th, 2007 by Rose Rosetree

Blog-Buddies, here is an update on our posting competition. Yes, we’ll soon have a winner of our December Comment Contest.

The prize is a Personnel Profile for the photo of your choice. These reports are so much fun, I have done dozens just for one person who started eating them up like pretzels. You could ask me to profile a friend, someone at work, the celebrity of your choice, or YOU.

All your comments, attached to any post on this blog, are welcome. Sometimes an especially provocative one will be upgraded to Guest Post, as is happening today with Ann H.’s. Sometimes a Blog-Buddy will score a home run by using Deeper Perception to give an insightful reading, like Colleen’s wonderful exploration of James Hillman.

As you may know, Ryan was the very first Blog-Buddy to Guest Post with a reading. Especially if you’re interested in EFT, you may want to revisit his profile of Dr. Patricia Carrington and comment there. His sumptuous reading hasn’t received the commenting it deserves. Hint, hint, to all you contest contenders.

Here’s one other type of comment I would especially like to see right now: People in the news. You see, I’m soon going to prepare an in-depth reading for the January issue of my zine, Reading Life Deeper.

Zine profiles are more in-depth and polished than the quick profiles at this blog. If you aren’t already a subscriber, you might want to sign up. It is free, including spam-free. This electronic magazine comes just once a month, and it has thousands more subscribers than this blog (to date, anyway).

For that Zine article, which person in the news is really interesting to you, and why?

    And now for a drumroll………

Our top three contenders for the December Comment Contest, as of this moment, are the prolific:

    • Ann H., with 46

    • Anita, with 32

    • and Ryan, with 31.

It would definitely have to be all of the presidential election contenders. I know that you have already written about Barack Obama and Rudy Giulani, so then it would have to be Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mike Huckabee.

One person who might be intersting is Brian Williams, who isn’t in the news but instead brings us the news - he’s the nighly anchor on NBC. I saw him host “Saturday Night Live” once, and he was absolutely hilarious and heartwarming. It made me curious to learn more about him.

Others might include Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters, both legends in telejournalism.

    Ooooh, it’s exciting, Rose! :-)

I appreciate your encouragement to post away this month. I have learned so much from all of the posts and am very much looking forward to spending time after the holidays on honing my skills so that I will be able to do readings like Colleen’s and Ryan’s. They are very impressive.

As for more suggestions for readings…well, I’ve already listed a bunch in the other thread and there are so many people I’d love to read one of your articulate readings on that I’ll share some more. I find myself examining faces and looking more deeply in general, especially during my holiday movie watching fun this week.

Steve Jobs (of Apple-iPod-iPhone fame) would be fascinating.

Bill Gates. I’m wondering if there has been a transformation in his aura since he’s shifted his focus more and more over to his charitable work. Comparing Jobs and Gates would be great fun.

Madonna. Great fun to see how her aura and face have transformed over time.

Mark Forster, director of the brilliant film playing now, The Kite Runner.

Two people I saw in movies tonight and whose faces are so unusual….John C. Reilly (actor, ‘Chicago’, ‘Walk Hard’) and Lyle Lovett.

Maybe this one’s a no-brainer and not so much fun for you… :-) Larry Craig.

I’ve recently seen the Tony-Award-winning musical ‘Jersey Boys’(fabulous and highly recommended!) and would enjoy a read on Frankie Valli. Singers with many hits and longevity throughout changing periods of musical styles are intriguing to me. Tony Bennett is another one. Is there something we can read in the aura/face that would indicate this kind of long term success?

Conan O’Brien and/or Jay Leno. I haven’t kept up with the very latest news on the Writers Strike, but the last I heard, they’d each made different choices in terms of how to support their non-writing staffs.

Anyone you write about is bound to be interesting and informative, I’m sure.

    Dear Ann H,

Thanks so much for your comments on my empathic reading…I’m still a newbie and have much to learn, though I have been practicing! Every time I see someone’s suggestions for readings, I say, “Me too”!

I would be interested in a reading on prolific author,Stephen King. Before-and-after photos of him concerning the hit and run accident he suffered a few years back would be very interesting to me.

He lost his ability to write for awhile. In an NPR interview in the 90’s he said that 3 weeks was the longest he had gone without writing, even if he wadded it up and threw it in the trash.

I would also be interested in a reading of, just assassinated, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

I do have someone that I am going to read, (maybe this evening), but I won’t say yet who it is:-)

I am getting my stuff together to drive back to Kentucky tomorrow for the ceremony I spoke about in another post.

I wish all of you a VERY Happy New Year full of deeper perception or any other something that thrills your soul or utilizes your soul gifts. I look forward to learning and participating in forays of Deeper Perception with you in the coming
    year.

Thanks to Rose for providing me with an opportunity to guest post (even though I was very nervous about it), do something that thrills my soul, read all of your posts, have readings with her etc. Most of all, I would not have met, online, all of you!

Colleen, Happy New Year to you and to all of you Blog-Buddies.

It thrills my soul to read all your comments. Your generosity! Your openness in sharing! And let’s not leave unacknowledged the intelligence in every single post on this blog.

Of course, the spam is way more intelligent, but you never get to see that. Just kidding!!!!

I’m loving you all, enjoying you all,

    Rose

Hmmm…I should have written more comments instead of guest posts. :P

But seriously…we, your readers, would not be able to leave such great comments if you did not post such great content. The quality and quantity of your posts, Rose, rivals that of the Internet’s premier bloggers such as Steve Pavlina.

OK, now I am seeing fascinating auras to read everywhere!:-)

I scanned Entertainment Weekly’s entertainers of the year and found a few more I’m curious about…

Katherine Heigl. Of Gray’s Anatomy fame and described in the latest Vanity Fair as having “it”…that quality that the so-called “America’s Sweethearts” have…Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock. Would be fun to see the nature of the “it” in the aura.

    George Clooney.

My thanks go out, too, to Rose and all the blog buddies! It thrills my soul to learn so much and to be able to write about these fascinating subjects and to learn from others.

    Ooooh, more interesting reads…

Russell Crowe. I bet he’s one of those actors who completely transforms his chakras.

    Renee Zelwiger.

Tom Cruise. And what the heck, why not Katie Holmes?

OK, I’m not actually trying to be obnoxious here and rack up the posts…but I keep coming up with more ideas!

Steve Carrell. He’s in that group of comedians/impressionists that I find fascinating. I’d love to see what’s going on in the aura with the comedians I mentioned.

This person probably won’t have mass appeal, but came to mind in relation to our conversation about The Secret and the general theme of discernment in our culture in relation to consciousness and metaphysical practitioners.

Joey Yap is a modern, young, talented and highly successful practitioner of Classical Chinese Feng Shui who is based in Malaysia. Part of his work is to debunk the flaky New Age-y myths that have sprung up in the world of feng shui. He has also taken the core of knowledge from ancient times and has modernized feng shui education by incorporating the latest in educational technology, thus moving the study of the body of information out of the traditional master/apprentice learning model.
