    “Compassionate Conservative” or Not?

January 14th, 2008 by Rose Rosetree

face reading, rose rosetreeHere’s a dramatic example of the difference between presidential campaign promises and reality. Back when George W. Bush first campaigned for national office, he was widely considered a charmer. Reading his aura, I found him to be an alarmer, not a charmer.

At the time, I read him for a reporter with a major national newspaper. The gist was this. “According to his aura, he’s so damaged, he can barely think. As for leadership ability, the principal of your nearest elementary school has more leadership ability than Mr. George W. Bush.”

I believed that Bush raised money so well not because of his leadership, but for his inner and outer credentials as a puppet.

How did the reporter respond? She was shocked. Here are the words as I recall them. “You found that just from reading his aura? I have to tell you, recently I interviewed him one-on-one. From all I’d heard, Bush was absolutely charming. Supposedly, he was a strong leader. Well, when I talked to him, it was completely different. It felt as though nobody was there, nobody home inside. You’re the first person I’ve talked to who seems to have noticed.”

    COMPASSIONATE? WHY?

Aura reading will tell you much. Face reading brings clues to character that are even easier to read.

Remember how Bush promised to rule as a “compassionate conservative”? I wrote an article for a gorgeous glossy magazine, The World & I. Here is the portion of the article where I compared Bush’s specific facial strengths to his over-arching campaign promise. (I wound up comparing his face data to that of some fellow campaigners:

    • Gary Bauer
    • Bill Bradley
    • Al Gore
    • Alan Keyes
    • John McCain.)

George W. Bush campaigns as a “compassionate conservative.” Face reading reveals that this might not be the best way to sell himself. Why? There are seven main ways that compassion can show in a face:

Down-angled eyes denote compassion resulting from considerable personal contact with suffering. (Bush doesn’t have this but Bauer does.)

Large eyelid thickness shows a compassionate commitment to honor others in relationships. (Bush doesn’t have this, Keyes does.)

Curved lower eyelids denote openheartedness among strangers. (Bush doesn’t have this, Bradley does.)

Large inner ear circles reveal an unconscious predisposition to pay attention to how other people feel. (Bush doesn’t have this, Gore does.)

Curved eyebrows go with a knack for thinking with emotional intelligence, a precursor to compassion. (Bush doesn’t have this, Bauer does.)

Cheeks bulging below the cheekbone signify a harmonizer’s power style, the working equivalent of compassion. (Bush doesn’t have this, McCain does.)

The Mark of Devotion, a vertical line at the third eye area, suggests high spiritual intent and self-sacrifice. Come on now, you may be thinking. You might expect to find this on Mother Teresa or the Dalai Lama (in which cases you’d be right), but what kind of wacky idealist would hope to find it on a presidential candidate?

The face reader’s answer: You, after you learn that one in four U.S. presidents has worn this mark: Washington, Monroe, Lincoln, Grant, Roosevelt (Teddy), Harding, Coolidge, Ford, Nixon, and Carter. (Bush doesn’t have the mark, McCain does.)

Admittedly, every candidate needs a label, but compassion isn’t Bush’s strength. Why not capitalize on his wonderful arched nose, wholly unlike his father’s, which signifies a talent for creative work? George W., take this face reader’s advice and start calling yourself a “creative conservative.”

Thanks for the insight, Rose. Your comments always supplement my general “feeling” about someone, interestingly. I knew Bush was a puppet but didn’t really know how or why that was a certainty for me. It just was. (your book “Aura Reading Through All Your Senses” has helped me put some specifics to my “just a feeling” sense)

I don’t know the ins and outs of face reading but when you compare and contrast characteristics of various individuals, it helps me see what you are saying more clearly.

We all know Bush isn’t Rose’s favorite man. ;)

Who can blame her. He has singlehandedly aggravated global security and sent the US and other parts of the world to economic recession. Creative work may be his *potential* but I would say that isn’t realized or at least positively realized.

He “creatively” put together quite a frightening bunch of people into his Cabinet and a bunch of ridiculous lies. What he’s done is virtually indefensible.

I read today that there is a movement initiated by some Washington state senators,(?),to impeach Mr.
Bush and Mr. Cheney. I doubt that it will gain momentum in the midst of electing another president, but I think it is more warranted than the last impeachment hearings of almost a decade ago. I could do without the kind of creativity mentioned above, but all will be put in to the weave in the bigger picture.

I have wondered several times how one can go to war AND meet the pope/the Dalai Lama AND ask for a second war in Iran (his newest utterings), that’s a very special kind of compassion. Maybe it would be better to book him into prison for the remainder of his presidency for safety reasons.
