Funny Thing About Superbowl Superstars
January 31st, 2008 by Rose Rosetree
“It’s a funny thing about those quarterbacks” my husband told me. I had just told him about my upcoming face reading profile for Link.
“The quarterbacks for the Superbowl couldn’t be more different. One dates a supermodel and lives in high society. The other is salt-of-the earth, more like Gomer Pyle.”
Where in an aura would you look to find out which was which? I chose the following databanks. My goal wasn’t to do a woo-woo version of “Pin the tail on the donkey.”
I was interested more in character, gifts of the soul… all those qualities about “Who does this person be?”For that kind of knowledge, nothing beats deeper perception. Depending on the situation, I will use face reading, or maybe aura reading, or even an empathic merge. For this comparison I decided to do some aura reading.
For background on the type of aura reading I do with photos, and can teach you to do, click here.
You may already the names of these famous quarterbacks – at least if you follow football, which I don’t. Nor have I played it since I was a really great tackle at age 14.
Tom Brady plays for the New England Patriots. Here’s a link to his photo, the same one pictured above. The fun thing about using a link is that you can open it, copy it onto a document in Word, and pull on the corners to enlarge the photo.
Manning plays for the New York Giants, and his photo link is here:
I have chosen these contrasting photos to help you sort out which fellow is the social sensation. But surface stereotyping is so dull compared to deeper perception. Read along, if you can, and post your comments below. Let’s play nicely!
These are the aura databanks I have chosen to research in our quarterbacks:
“Presence, as a player, when he comes onto the field” at the Root Chakra
Tom Brady: Solid but speedy, Brady is crafty. He thinks on his feet. Creative possibilities would keep him interested in the game even if he wasn’t paid quite so much.
Eli Manning: Inspiration moves him. Sure, he works at the strength, and physical power is something he can depend upon. But there’s an extraordinary way in which Eli flows during a game, with an uncanny instinct that would make him.. a superb aura reader. Now there’s a high paying career.
“Presence, as a player in his social life” at the Root Chakra
Tom Brady: Even with people he knows well, façade is a big deal for Brady. He wants to be seen in the right way, with the right people. He cares a lot about how people see him. On the surface, he doesn’t react. But inwardly, it’s a game where he’s very aware. And he’ll position himself deftly to win the game of social status.
Eli Manning: He’s an easygoing fellow, unless you purposely rile him. Eli is also sociable in a way that Tom is not. Just being with people he cares about, sharing the moment is enough for him. Eli is simpler, more here and now, than his counterpart on the Patriots.
“How he relates to money” at the Root Chakra
Tom Brady: This ambitious man definitely values money as part of the game. Tom’s competitive about life, not just football. He wants to win social approval. He wants to be the best all around, and money is a price of admission for winning big socially.
Eli Manning: Most enjoyable thing about money for Eli is how he can be generous with it. The man isn’t just made of muscle. In terms of personality, he’s one sweet puppy.
“Enjoyment of prestige” at the Solar Plexus Chakra
Tom Brady: Power is a major life priority for this Patriot. Prestige is savored, not so much for its own sake, but as an exercise in “I’ll show them.”
Eli Manning: Prestige doesn’t impress Eli particularly. He’ll have a good laugh at it, more than anything. Watching people distort their behavior just because he is good at a game? Eli is secure enough, evolved enough, to enjoy his prestige without taking it terribly seriously.
“Self-presentation in public as a celebrity” at the Throat Chakra
Tom Brady: Tom gets a kick out of letting his sex appeal show, projecting it strongly. His sex appeal databank at the belly chakra is plenty strong, with no assist. But some people have an instinctive ability to show how sexy they are, whether or not they are, personally, sexy. Tom is both. He also loves displaying his elegance and sophistication. Every bit of star-attention received is a delicious treat.
Eli Manning: He’ll show himself at his most cheerful. In real life, his personality has more variation, with more playfulness than he’ll reveal to a sportscaster’s camera. Eli distances himself because he doesn’t crave celebrity. Authentic personal relationships matter more; the public part of his life seems to him like a necessary (semi-) evil.
“Self-presentation in his personal life” at the Throat Chakra
Tom Brady: Tom relates to friends like the star he’s become. He’ll make his inner circle feel super-special. On a bad day, however, words that describe his behavior are high expectations, high maintenance, ego, even prima donna. What, you thought only singers had temperament, never football players?
Eli Manning: In real life, he is more appealing than in public. Eli opens up. Despite all the fame, he doesn’t feel (or act) all that special, compared to others. He’s just sharing life with the people he loves.
“Expressing his soul in his life” at the High Heart Chakra
Tom Brady: Omigosh, is Tom ever having the time of his life. Especially when posing in a glamour shot like this one, he is like glee incarnate. Living large in this way is exactly what thrills his soul.
Eli Manning: Gratitude is part of the glow for Eli. He’s enjoying his life every bit as much as Tom, but with a much stronger spiritual component.
CONCLUSION: Both quarterbacks are extraordinarily talented. They couldn’t be happier, either, right now. Regardless of which one is the “official” winner at the Superbowl, both are highly self-actualized, living their dreams.
It’s no small thing that Tom has the glamour thing going, nor that Eli shuns it. Even if you haven’t met them personally, you know people like them. Depending on your own deep values, you’ll enjoy one type far more than the other. But both are shining examples of different ways to live.
Would you like to do your friends a favor? Many sports fans don’t really know what an aura is. So they miss out on the most fascinating way to follow their faves. Reading people deeper could make life better for these friends of yours, so send them a link to this article. Or if you have a favorite sports columnist in your newspaper or sports broadcaster, invite them to interview me, sending an email to rose[at]rose-rosetree.com.
I’m approaching interview #800, an ambassador for the mind-body-spirit community. We’re can be just as down to earth as anyone making a touchdown at the Superbowl.

Clairvoyance is not one of my stronger languages for reading auras, but mine really kicked in when looking at these two photographs. Tom Brady is like a raw egg: what you see on the outside is very different from what is on the inside. Eli Manning’s aura is more consistent inside and out.
Great analogy!
