    Cocoon

March 10th, 2008 by Rose Rosetree

Rose Rosetree does Aura Readings in JapanMaybe it has seemed quiet here lately at Deeper Perception Made Practical. But this has been some wild month under my cocoon. (And why wouldn’t energy fields be big enough to contain cocoons?)

Within the hour, I will be shipping the files to the printer for my latest book, Read People Deeper: Body Language + Face Reading + Auras. Or, as I have been calling it, “The baby.”

Thanks to all of you who commented on the cover, particularly Ryan Biggerstaff, whose astute feedback made a big difference for substantive editing, as well as that cover.

Typesetting is a wildly teensy kind of work. I like doing it. Still, can you imagine what it does to one’s mind to spend hours each day scrutinizing words, spaces between them, the tiniest little tweaks in justified text? Call it shallow perception at its finest.

I’ve emerged just long enough to do sessions and classes. (This weekend, many of you will be coming here to Sterling for my next Intensive, about cutting cords of attachment.) And then there have been the agenting events. Outside my little cocoon, book contracts have been arriving like crazy.

Three more contracts are arriving for signature this week, which will bring my total contracts so far up to 23. Last week, I also sent off five “reading copies” of various books to publishers in Europe and Asia. Some 40 other reading copies are still being considered, a lifetime record for me.

Finally, through a special arrangement, The Power of Face Reading will arrive at Barnes & Noble stores across the country, just in time for Christmas sales. This will be just a short-time experiment, starting with some 10,000 copies.

Not counting them (and knowing that all my records for total books in print aren’t complete, as I have many old contracts where I never considered the number of books printed), here is the latest count of books by Rose making their way in the world:

     139,139

What numbers, or experiences, have been important to you in the world of Deeper Perception? Now that I’m out of that cocoon, let’s share your stories, Blog-Buddies.

Congratulations on all your new book contracts and especially your arrangement with Barnes & Noble. I was not expecting to hear that one of your books is going to be sold in the big chain stores.

I started with face reading and astrology, then inched my way more and more into the woo-woo. I’m still not completely woo-woo (and don’t want to be, to be perfectly blunt), but I definitely started living with more than just my superficial senses at work.

I have met and worked with some very fine intuitives and other practitioners of deeper perception, but frankly, there are a lot of shysters out there who really aren’t that good and are really just out there to make a profit, unfortunately.

Yes, there are bad doctors out there, even bad psychiatrists, I know, but the thing is, we can be sued and we are legally held liable for malpractice… We also require a minimum of 8 years of training, whereas any guy or gal can hang a shingle and start going business as an intuitive…

Numbers and their importance or not:

1 - We are one. What we do for others we do for the Self. What we do for the Self we do for others.

1 - I currently “own” and care for one cat. Not always sure who looks after who.

Unknown - the number of times I have got out of bed before the alarm goes off to feed the aforementioned little fur ball.

2 - The number of times I have actually met Rose. Could be 4 depends on how the counting is done.

12,000+ (maybe slight exageration)- The number of times have logged into a website and seen a happy smiling little face in the top left hand corner and I feel just that little happier.
