Expo Volunteers Sought for June 7 and 8
May 29th, 2008 by Rose Rosetree
Join the fun and earn my gratitude at the upcoming Karmafest celebration at “The Rocks” in Maryland. Last night, some wise friends reminded me that I need helpers for my booth, and they’re so right.
For me to do aura readings, brief empathic merges — even for reading faces – I can’t pay full attention to my client and simultaneously do the head-jerk thing as hundreds of blithe spirits stop by my table.
Last time I had a booth on my own, it was at a five-day expo in London, and so stressful it took me some six months to recover. (Imagine England’s biggest and most expensive mind-body-spirit expo, an extremely unfavourable exchange rate, four hours of round-trip travel daily to the home of a beloved friend, etc.) The photo here, incidentally, comes from my first out-of-town expo, in San Francisco, around 2001. Amazingly, this month I did a first session for someone from that expo.
Juicy details about boothing at Karmafest will be of special interest if you live in Maryland, Delaware or Pennsylvania — or you don’t mind driving a couple of hours from metro DC into a gorgeous park in the country.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO
As a booth volunteer, you would have a four-hour shift. During that time you would:
- Smile at the nice people passing by and give them a flyer.
- Make appointments for the readings I will be doing that day.
- Help people to buy books, as well as reserving their readings.
WHO YOU WOULD BE
Friendliness is required. Being a huge extrovert is not. (I’m not, actually.)
You don’t need to have read all my books or own them all or know everything about my work. Booth-staffing is fun, not difficult, and I can easily prepare you with an email or two, or a quick phone call. Still, you will need to focus and take this volunteer assignment seriously, dress nicely for the occasion and, basically, volunteer as a “professional” even if you’ve never booth-staffed before.
THANKING YOU
It makes such a huge difference for expo results to have a good helper or two along-side me. Miracles happen there, at the booth, and the joy of those readings tends to radiate out quite some distance. So this can be an inspiration for you.
If you ever plan to do expo some day, on your own, you might consider this an apprenticeship of sorts. (Certainly I did years of volunteering and sponsoring before hanging up my own shingle as a practitioner.)
Obviously, you will receive free admission to the Festival, saving you a neat $12 and
entitling you to hours of workshops and fun places to hang out, since Karmafest runs from 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. each day. If you come on Saturday, you can also attend the opening blessing by Swami Shankarananda, world renowned as an enlightened man and extraordinary teacher (or should be).
Beyond that, I like to reward my helpers with either your choice of an autographed book or a full session of Aura Transformation or Face Reading, in person or by phone, as desired, and to be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
Contact me asap to work this out, and please spread the word to any level-headed, responsible enthusiasts you know with a passion for healing, intuitive reading, or any form of reading people deeper. (Email to RoseRosetree[at]Verizon.net or call 703-450-9514.)
Big things come in little packages, they say. As a wordsmith, I can’t think of more unappetizing names than “Karmafest” (with all respect to awesome Festival organizer Patti Hawse) or “The Rocks” (by all accounts, an absolutely gorgeous and rejuvenating bit of park). Let your experience there exceed all expectations!
