Cut Cords as a Smart Consumer

May 31st, 2008 by Rose Rosetree

Such synchronicity! Last night Donna Seebo interviewed me on her radio show about cutting cords of attachment. Donna is such a pro at intuitive reading and healing (as well as being a superb interviewer — so I’m glad that the show will be archived at her website and, soon, should be available as well off my own home page).

Our conversation included this rather embarrassing fact: Mind-body-spirit healing is a pretty unregulated field. So people can hang up their shingles on the basis of a short workshop, or just reading ideas off the Net. By contrast, other practitioners have worked carefully over a long apprenticeship to develop truly professional skills.

Read auras, friends, to tell the wheaty healer from the chaffed-up. Or else use common sense, which is the theme for today’s post.

Last week alone, I heard THREE different physical healers tell me stories about newbies who just decided they were qualified and started working with students. And here’s where the really big synchronicity comes in. After the interview with Donna, I checked my email, and look at what came in from “Josephine”:

I have encountered a strange situation : I worked with some people who made it obvious that they didn’t like me, and it made me feel very bad - it threw me for a loop.

When I went home, I could feel an entity attached to the nape of my neck, and it was SO constricting , uncomfortable, and inhibiting  to my personality …..

I went searching on the Internet for “how to clear entities”  myself, because I couldn’t afford to pay my regular healers to clear  me.  I found  a woman named “Phoebe” whose site sounded very convincing. She gave me a free “auric clearing” and then a discount on a “karmic clearing.”

After the second session, I was nauseous  for  nine days, and then after that I felt blank, as if part of me – my personality, and confidence, and self-esteem or something – is missing.  I don’t know what she did ….

I was told by my healer-friend that this woman had corded me through my crown, or something.  My healers did a session on me, but I still do not feel like  myself. Is this situation something you could help me with?

Poor kid! I’ve written back to Josephine, telling her that I can help her to heal but also being realistic. By now, she may need several sessions (whereas before all her “free” help, just one session might have done the job.)

    CONSUMER SMARTS

Regarding the fees that a professional would charge to cut a cord of attachment properly, or do other types of healing work, for some people it is a matter of priorities rather than true financial scarcity. You’ve met people who wouldn’t dare to get a cheap haircut “because it would show” but will gladly skimp on their own emotional and spiritual development. Do go ahead and show them this cautionary tale! (This is one of many received here, I might add. The timing of this one is what caused me to turn it into a blog post, that’s all.)

What can you do if, like all too many people today, you do have dire financial problems? Maybe you don’t go for haircuts at all, and barely manage to pay for basic food.

Then do-it-yourself might be quite necessary. By this, I mean intelligent and responsible choice of do-it-yourself.

Please don’t just surf the Net, seeking whatever sounds as though it might possibly be good, seems cheap, and could be learned really fast. You’re playing with your mind, spirit and soul, not some ant farm.

One book that can teach you systematically, and safely, how to cut cords of attachment is called, ahem, “Cut Cords of Attachment.”

You could read it to become a wise consumer, as well as learn how to do professional-quality work for yourself.

Find whatever books or workshops really have quality, not just mine. It’s your judgment call about which teacher appeals to you and can teach you practical skills. When you gain those skills, it’s a kind of insurance policy.

So gain skills while your life is going smoothly. Don’t just wait until there is an emergency and you need really well established skills. The day you need to move a really heavy object is not the day to lift your first barbell.

THE DREADED “CORDING ME THROUGH THE CROWN”

Friends, these days I’ve heard more and more people talk about having a negative person “cord you.” As cutting cords moves more into the mainstream, one hears all kinds of wild fictions and fantasies on the subject. But this one makes about as much sense as having a woman with fertility problems “umbilical-cord” you, a nearby grownup.

Clearly I don’t know everything about all possiblities everywhere for all people, but I can tell you this, for what it’s worth. In over 20 years of professional work in this field I have never, personally encountered this in a client. Not once.

Therefore, one consumer tip I can give you is to be aware that “crying werewolf” is a time-honored sales tactic. “Tell your mark that problems aren’t her fault but that someone bad is causing them. Make the ailment sound scary and exotic.” Ooh, the enticing howl of astral danger!

My advice? If some healer talks about your “being corded by someone” or “your being under psychic attack,” do not ask that healer to help you. Turn around. Walk away. Find a healer with clarity, skills, and the ability to empower you.

Josephine is learning the hard way about consumer smarts. I hope her story helps you to learn an easier way.

Just what could have been done to Josephine that caused her to have such severe problems?

Ryan, your curiosity is most understandable! As soon as someone starts rearranging another person’s aura, working with astral beings at any level of development, etc., ANYTHING can happen.

The one specific and constructive idea I can give in response to your question is this: Avoid diagnosing a problem unless you can help.

    Isn’t that just common sense?

As a face reader, I’ve often been asked to diagnose health problems. What would be the use? I don’t specialize in physical healing. Why not find out the nature of a health problem from someone who also has the skills and knowledge to help cure it? Instead I read faces for character, helping you to appreciate gifts of your soul and identify growth areas. Later, if you’d like help at unblocking those gifts or overcoming challenges, I can help you with sessions of Energy Spirituality.

Just how helpful was it to Josephine for someone to opine, “Phoebe ‘corded’ you through the head”? It’s unclear from Josephine’s email whether the same person who gave this opinion also had skills to do something about it, but it IS clear that whoever worked on Josephine next didn’t manage to complete that healing mission too satisfactorily.

Often I’ll have new clients request something like this in a first session, “Look at my aura. Tell me what cords you see, all the cords I have.”

And the point of this would be what? To worry? To assess how relatively clear you are, or bemoan being a hopeless case? To try and calculate how many other sessions you would need? Maybe one of you Blog-Buddies can explain to me why people ask for this, because it does baffle me.

In any event, if you are going to have sessions with me, this is one kind of question you need not ask. As politely as possible, I will decline. Instead, look over the various types of session available, using this link: http://www.rose-rosetree.com/orderfa.htm Given what I actually do, you can request the type of session you feel would be most helpful.

Or, for the short answer, choose an intention that has personal meaning for you, like, “Help me to have more confidence” or “I’d like to improve my relationship with my brother.” We can go from there to research relevant cords, astral debris, etc., and facilitate real healing.

I have had several attachment cords removed, but once I even got one after talking to somebody only 10 min or NOT even talking to him, so my question here is how can I avoid getting new cords of attachment?

I noted that I was angry at some of those people I got attachment cords to, or that one of the 2 people involved had coercive issues.

Now tell me how I can stop getting new cords!!!!!! Please….
