KIM, sounds like you've had a hard time. It's as if you go to a car mechanic. There are some reputable ones and some not. Why would you allow this woman to frighten you? Why would you have gone back a second time, actually?

From what you describe, I suspect you've been dealing with a scam artist. But I don't know for sure. What I can tell you is that, in general. I do not have a great deal of respect for an "aura reading" where someone is given a color. Period.

That is like reading Tolstoy's masterpiece, "War and Peace," and saying, "It's a red novel."

Auras are complex, and the potential of aura reading is huge. Let's make an analogy to car repair. A blog like this one is not a place to diagnose what is going on with your car or how to fix it.

Nor am I going to read your aura and solve all your problems, even though you do have my sympathy.

If you go onto my website, www.rose-rosetree.com, you can find information about my sessions of Aura Transformation and Healing. (Check out the column on the left.) These are professional services in the field of Aura Reading, by appointment.

I can tell you that most of my clients come back for additional services, and (far as I know) that's never because I have frightened them but because they found my work helpful.

Whatever you decide to do, Kim, remember to use the common sense that God gave you.

Thank you so much Rose! That was cent percent accurate.

Even though I have been taught to always be helpful & kind, something that came from a strong moral background within my family, it has come to a point where I don't think about myself anymore, and give myself selflessly to other people in need.

While it is immensely gratifying for me to be of help at one level, it frustrates me to not recieve that kind of selflessness when I am in need.

I always felt I am left to fend for myself emotionally. Being a lawyer has obviously brought out my rational & rebellious responses, which is a far cry from my emotional and intuitive side.

I think I'd like to strike a balance between the both and see how I fare.

And yes,I am pretty sure I need to put my needs first as well, but I am clueless as to how I should shut off my 'empath' switch. I am definetly going to look into the resources you have provided to help me with this.

Thank you so much Rose, this is really enlightening and spot on!

Love and hugs,
Andrea

3. Research option of doing legal work for a large firm (completes all the comments in this series)

* Paying attention to your own desires databank at the Solar Plexus Chakra.

This is by far the best fit of the three choices you have researched. You're excellent at competing. So having many attorneys around helps to sharpen your focus as a lawyer and as a person.

Also, being with people who are quite in tune with their own desires (as many lawyers are), you learn from them about the dynamic of putting your own desires first. Although ultimately you may choose to put them third or fourth in life, at least you will get those circuits well woken up within yourself. Right now, as our baseline reading suggested, it's more like you're putting yourself so far last there is very little contact being made with those personal desires.

* Emotional self-awareness databank at the Heart Chakra.

There is a kind of emotional self-awareness that fits with the culture of being with lawyers in a large firm – not a reflective, nuanced kind of awareness but at least SOME self-awareness. And with all respect, Andrea, this is not really strong in you yet, compared to what it could be… and in a completely healthy way.

So this choice represents a constructive growth for you emotionally.

And thus we conclude all that prize giving, Blog-Buddies. Remember, you can always read auras for yourself and learn so very much about yourself, others, and your possible choices in life.

2. Research option of social service work (continuing from previous comments in this series)

* Paying attention to your own desires databank at the Solar Plexus Chakra.

With every action you take to help others, you strengthen your sense of personal effectiveness.

This feedback helps you to be stronger in this databank. It still doesn't directly wake up the habit of paying attention to your own desires. But it is movement in a helpful direction.

* Emotional self-awareness databank at the Heart Chakra.

Within a short time period, you become really, really bored with doing this kind of work.

The positive aspect is that you are DRIVEN to pay attention to your own emotions because you are so desperately bored in your work life.

This isn't the most direct or positive way to jump-start your emotional self-awareness, but the choice could be helpful in this funny roundabout way.

ANDREA, now that we have both databanks selected, with initial readings, these next three comments will be dedicated to how they change with the choices being investigated:

1. Social welfare work

* Paying attention to your own desires databank at the Solar Plexus Chakra.

Frustration grows and mounts within you. Although partly you enjoy being of service to others, much of you is grumbling, "What about me?"

Until you clean out some of the STUFF in this chakra databank, much the same reaction, long-term, is likely with career choices that are about helping other people.

No amount of helping others can substitute for helping yourself, not for you. (And not for most sane people.)

* Emotional self-awareness databank at the Heart Chakra.

This is a pretty satisfying option for you.

Giving feels good, and you tend to identify with all the success stories that you help create.

Continuing, ANDREA, based on your comments at http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2009/02/23/win-free-aura-reading/
here are two databanks of interest:

* Paying attention to your own desires databank at the Solar Plexus Chakra.
Andrea, you have a gift of the soul here for independent thinking, even rebelliousness.

Yet there is a huge overlay of socialization, whereby it was taught to you that it was very, very important to be sweet to others, kind to others, understanding of others and – above all – aware of others rather than yourself.

* Emotional self-awareness databank at the Heart Chakra.

The gift showing here, Andrea, is for having intense, primal, vivid personal emotions. Since childhood, you have reacted quickly and clearly to people and situations.

So this has the potential to serve you well. However, it is overlaid with a huge amount of training that your job is to be aware of others first, everyone else in the room, if possible.

Your gifts as an empath also complicate matters because they are turned ON and you don't have skill yet at turning them OFF. I would love to teach you, through Empowered by Empathy (book or audiobook) or personal mentoring.

Meanwhile, it's very confusing for you.

What can you do about this, on the level of simple advice? Don't take refuge in stereotyped ideas about being an "Indigo Child" or anything else. Pay attention to you!

Using this photo of beautiful ANDREA:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1526478&l=2e20b5cdd0&id=668277714

here is her Aura Reading Consolation Prize.

Part one of this is to comment on what you wrote in your entry: "strengthning one’s aura against negative energies, awareness of one’s aura and changing energy fields through physiological impulses, how intuition and esp help detect anything wrong in an energy field, the importance of spiritual awareness and being sensitive to our enviroments in a positive way and techniques on absorbing the right energy fields if any."

It's worth noting -- and I hope it will be helpful to you -- that you have asked about specific skill sets. And I teach a whole lot of them.

None of these can be reduced to a quick Aura Reading, unless you would be content with platitudes. You're a smartie, becoming a lawyer. So, please, Andrea!

To address any and all of these concerns, I would really encourage you to go to www.rose-rosetree.com and click on any book cover that interests you, or choose FAQs on the left and start reading.

HI Rose,

THANK YOU!!! I read your findings with rapt attention. Yes, my art work has been an intensely personal expression of myself, and it is only in the last year and a half that I have been making art that feels like it balances more of the objective/subjective arenas for me (to use your word descriptions--which makes a lot of sense to me).

This saturday I am having my first art show--it is at a very small cafe that is 3 blocks away from where I live, and there will be 4 other people showing their work. The only people who will see the work are a handful of "regulars" (many of who I know or are familiar with their faces). I have invited friends to the opening, so feel supported and a little bit visible, not too much. I thought pretty carefully about who to invite and how many. In short, I feel safe in this smaller, more casual environment. I'll see what it feels like and how it resonates...

I have had some interest (an invitation to have my art viewed and possibly repped by her) from another "art patron" (a lady who sets up gallery style shows in her home), but have put off meeting with her for a lot of the reasons/findings you stated--finally, my art process is starting to feel "fun" to me again (after a 32 year hiatus), and it feels sacred to me to nurture it well.

Thank you again for this reading on your blog. How generous of you to do this for me, and others. It's a treat, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. : )

best, Lisa

In short, I feel safe in this smaller, more casual environment. I’ll see what it feels like and how it resonates…

I have had some interest (an invitation to have my art viewed and possibly repped by her) from another “art patron” (a lady who sets up gallery style shows in her home), but have put off meeting with her for a lot of the reasons/findings you stated–finally, my art process is starting to feel “fun” to me again (after a 32 year hiatus), and it feels sacred to me to nurture it well.

Thank you again for this reading on your blog. How generous of you to do this for me, and others. It’s a treat, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. : )

best, Lisa
