12 Reasons Why Face Reading Matters

Preparing for my Face Reading Intensive next week, I was reminded of some of the ways the 5,000-year-old art of physiognomy offers practical help to people like us, living today.

Success in your career isn’t just about the economy. The better you can size people up, and get it right, the better you can up-size your career.
2. How to Read a Face for Work FAST
Generally it’s preferable to do a depth reading. Any time I see books about how to do Face Reading or Aura Reading instantly, I cringe. Why would the whole point of Deeper Perception be to get it over with?
Reminds me of the parenting myth, once popular and now discredited, that it doesn’t matter how much time you spend with your kids. Supposedly “All that matters is quality time.” Except ask any kid, or remember for yourself. Didn’t it also matter having quantity time?
That said, on some occasions you could need to do your Face Reading fast. I’d love to show you how to do that for career purposes.
3. The 10 Best Ways to Read a Face for ROMANCE
Love may be blind, but people don’t have to be. Face Reading clues us in to character. Whether you’re starting to fall in love or you want to handle an existing relationship better, Face Reading is the single simplest way to learn what you most need to know, from sex to manners.

“Lie to Me,” the popular new TV show emphasizes the natural concern about honesty. Although it claims to be about “Face Reading,” it really isn’t. Dr. Paul Ekman, whose ideas are the basis for the show, does a fabulous job of reading expression. But that doesn’t really cut it, in my opinion.
Do you really want to read expressions of people AFTER they lie? Why not learn about character, which can warn you about liars? Don’t wait to read dishonesty and deceit until after the lying is done, especially because that lying may be done to you.
Please note, Face Reading doesn’t tell you everything about finding liars. (Aura Reading can tell you the rest — not all ways to read auras necessarily, but my system of Aura Reading Through Your Senses (R) can definitely do it, anyway.)
Still, Face Reading can give you some clear warning signs that alert you to do further investigation. You won’t want to miss these.
6. How to Read THE DEEPEST TRUTH in a Face
This deepest truth isn’t about lying at all. Sorry, fans of ”Lie to Me.” Just looking for lies can be soooo limiting. If that’s all you do, you’re going to miss out. It’s like searching the pavement for change wherever you walk. By the end of the day, maybe you will pick up change worth 50 cents. If you’re lucky.
And in exchange for what? Missing fascinating people, fantastic architecture, beautiful stores, even the weather!
One of my very favorite Face Reading techniques isn’t in any of my three books about how to read a face. (See them listed in the LINKS section at the end of this post.) No, this is a technique I must teach directly, as in this upcoming Face Reading Intensive. Or you can have me do it TO you in a personal face reading session. (Again, see LINKS.)
What is this deeper truth technique good for? You can open up any facial feature and read the person’s story with the corresponding aspect of life. Does it give you chills, just thinking about this? The truth value is really high. It’s an amazing, accurate, soulful technique — to me, one of the high points of the Face Reading Intensive.
I’ve been reading faces since 1975, turned pro in 1986. But I didn’t discover this esoteric Face Reading technique until 2006, approximately. I would love to teach it to you. Once you’ve learned it, you can open up any part of the face like a door to the soul.
7. Find Meaning in Your Evolving Face
You know how kids go through stages? Parenting experts like Marguerite Kelly (who wrote a back-cover endorsement for Empowered by Empathy) can publish entire books on development for ages 1-8 or 9-12, etc. Watching kids under 18, it’s so clear that they are growing really fast here at Earth School.
A better kept secret is that people actually grow even faster after 18. Or they can. It just doesn’t show so obviously on the outside.
And an even better kept secret is this: Through certain Face Reading techniques, you can learn HOW a person has been evolving. To me, this is one of the most sacred aspects of physiognomy. So, of course, I will be teaching it during the Face Reading Intensive. (Or I can do it for you, personally, during a phone session, using photos.)
Once you experience this amazing perspective from Face Reading, you may find a qualitative difference in how you see people for the rest of your life. Your respect for spiritual evolution here at Earth School is going to grow, guaranteed.
8. Do Life Progress Face Readings
What if it were possible to look back on your life, at different critical points in your development, and assess you were learning life lessons? Previously I mentioned finding meaning in your evolving face. Life Progress Face Readings are different, an even more detailed version of exploring how faces change over time in ways that are absolutely meaningful.

9. Release Earth Illusions that Block Spiritual Truth
Whatever your religion or spiritual path, it must include the release of illusions. You could call those limitations ”sin” or “maya” or “distractions” or “Twittering” — just kidding about that last one. Sort of.
All the illusions, or stereotypes, waste our time. Or worse.
Many illusions are live and well in collective consciousness, illusions about faces. It isn’t just the pressure today to get cosmetic surgery, though that is certainly a powerful set of illusions I would love to help you to overcome. Stereotypes about age, weight, race, and attractiveness are part of daily life today, more insidious than you might think.
By coming to our Face Reading Intensive, you will gain more than concepts to release these entrenched illusions. You will gain personal experiences that help you to heal and release those illusions… including times when, together, we really do laugh ourselves silly.
10. Look in the MIRROR OF TRUTH
This aspect of Face Reading literally requires a mirror, a looking glass. Not just any mirror. It’s a special non-reversing mirror that I keep here for Face Readings — expensive and fragile and absolutely amazing.
As part of the Intensive, or if you ever come here in person for a Face Reading Session, you will have the opportunity to look in this mirror and see how others see you.
It’s a big deal to gain this perspective, then interpret what you find using my system of Face Reading Secrets (R).
You see, regular mirrors flip your face so that the right side of your face shows up on the right side of the mirror, your left is on the left. When you think about it, nobody else in the world ever sees your face that way (unless that person is next to you, looking through the very same mirror).
Faces develop asymmetries over time, differences between left and right. (All asymmetries are meaningful, and even beautiful, to this physiognomst, incidentally.) What most people do, when seeing these differences in the mirror, is to make minute adjustments to our facial muscles. Usually we do this unconsciously and have no idea how we sometimes change how we’re holding our faces. In addition, women will consciously apply makeup to compensate for asymmetries. Male or female, we may wear lapel pins or place hats at an angle, with the underlying motivation to show our “good side.”
Consciously or not, we’re try to make ourselves look more symmetrical to ourselves. But we’ll be doing it backwards, because we’re not seeing ourselves properly.
Remember, a regular mirror shows you an illusion, a flipped-around version of your appearance that nobody else sees. So, if you’re scrunching up your right eye to make it look more like your left, or raising your left cheek higher by just a tad — guess what? In reality, you’re making your face look twice as asymmetrical as normal.
Spending a little time before that Mirror of Truth can help you see what you’re really doing to yourself.
Plus, of course, you’re gaining knowledge about which facial characteristics you really have. Strangers can see it. Why shouldn’t you? And then why not interpret that truth in with the system of Face Reading Secrets (R)?
It’s based on the premise that, “God don’t make no junk.”
Imagine, spending a weekend where you explore that premise at depth, seeing yourself with the eyes of loving truth.

Face Reading is one of the most practical skill sets you could ever learn. It’s also really easy.

Whether you’re local to the metro D.C. area or you come here to Sterling from out of town, the Face Reading Intensive is a unique experience. It’s unlike other types of workshop. It’s also different from other Face Reading workshops.
Another professional Face Reader has called me “The Mother of American Physiognomy.” If you read much in this field, you’ll find that my system has probably influenced all books about Face Reading published since 1986, when I published my first book in the field.
The exception is books about Personology, where Face Reading has a deterministic edge, or Siang Mien, where Face Reading is used for fortunetelling.
