Is Face Reading Harder with the New Driver’s Licenses?

June 10th, 2009 by Rose Rosetree

No smiling on driver’s licenses — what does that mean for Face Reading?

Even if you don’t do Face Reading yet, you may know that four states have adopted a ’no-smiles’ policy for driver’s licenses. As Thomas Frank wrote for, USA TODAY:

Stopping driver’s license fraud is no laughing matter: Four states are ordering people to wipe the grins off their faces in their license photos.

“Neutral facial expressions” are required at departments of motor vehicles in Arkansas, Indiana, Nevada and Virginia. That means you can’t smile, or smile very much. Other states may follow.

Evidently, the DMVs aim is to cut down traffic in fake IDs. New high-tech software has been installed in these states to help match photos for previous licenses with the new ones.

No more re-issuing licenses in the name of folks now dead, I suppose.

But smiles make it hard to match photos, even with the fancy software. Hence the new “No cheese, please” policy.

HOW REAL FACE READING VIEWS SMILES

It’s a fascinating wrinkle in Face Reading that I’ve been asked, with some alarm: “How can you read faces in these new driver’s license photos?”

Omigosh, reading a face when it isn’t smiling?

To many folks, Face Reading = Expression Reading.

The TV show “Lie to Me” hasn’t helped to increase popular understanding, because the show’s expert at Face Reading is really an expression reader. Oops.

Sure, expression gives some information, and micro-expressions (fast-changing facial expressions) supply even more. I happen to admire the work of Paul Ekman, who has made a science of expression reading. Still, expression reading is trivial compared to what you can learn with authentic Face Reading.

The ancient art of physiognomy has never been about smiles. For 5,000 years, physigonomists have read character from faces, and done it in depth and detail.

As you know if you’ve studied Face Reading much (See LINKS section below to get started or take your skills further), my system of Face Reading Secrets (R) can supply accurate detailed information on topics like these:

    • Personal style handling money
    • Power dynamics in relationships
    • Compatibility in love relationships
    • Sales strategies to be most persuasive with a customer
    • How a person defines intimacy
    • The Top 10 Temper Traits
    • How much self-disclosure to use with a person if you want to AVOID a negative expression

All the bits of Face Reading data needed to discern such categories will show on those new driver’s licenses just fine.

WHAT’S USEFUL FOR FACE READING IN THE NEW POLICY

When clients send me orders for Face Reading Reports, they’re asked to send photos, of course. And, for years, this has been a bit of a problem. Despite those instructions, folks have often sent pretty unusual pictures for the purpose intended, like pictures smaller than a postage stamp, photos taken in near-total darkness, photos from strange angles, and pictures with great big grins.

Same thing happens with the photos requested for my other low-cost reports, like the Personnel Profiles and Relationship Readings.

So I’m, personally, very happy about the new no-grin photo policy. Maybe it will help people think a bit more clearly about photo angles and facial recognition. Truth is, with all the photos we can take these days with our phones and fabulous digital cameras, a lot of the emphasis is on creativity — just how strange can you make that familiar face?

But READING a photo really demands SEEING the person clearly.

    SAVING MONEY WITH FACE READINGS

Here are some practical points in case you are interested in ordering a Face Reading about you or someone at work or a potential sweetheart.

Timing: I’m not taking orders for any of these Reports until I return from Japan, July 5. (Flying back on the 1st, getting a free day by crossing back over the International Date Line, and then planning to do things like sleep for several days afterwards.)

But when I am back and doing Reports again, think driver’s license! Think clarity of image, because that matters more for this purpose than impressing me with how creative you can be with a photo.

The Best Bargain: Of course, it’s useful to do a full session with me (Aura Research or Face Reading) if you want maximum information. If you’re on the phone with me, I can read the aura of anyone you have ever personally known, at any time you have known the person. Because of the ability to read the many Aura Reading databanks in each chakra, there’s enormous detail available, such as:

    • Three different lie detector tests, all extremely accurate.
    • How a person was feeling inside, whatever that person was doing externally (e.g., marrying you, cheating on you, celebrating the birth of your child).
    • What the person’s style has been with sharing power in the relationship.

For an Aura Reading like this, no photo is required at all. Or you can email a whole bunch of photos for Face Reading and we’ll fit in a huge amount of information.

Personal sessions, by phone or in person, are highly interactive when you want me to read somebody. Unlike a report, you can ask questions galore, and I’ll answer them if I can. If you can do a personal session, it’s a much better value (even) than those consumer-friendly Reports.

    Rose,

I have a copy of “Wrinkles Are God’s Makeup”. Tremendous work! The added perks of the “online” material is very helpful. Your own reading of yourself is a work of art. Another issue which a face reader must overcome…being objective when it comes to reading their own face.

In my opinion, personal lifetime experiences would tend to influence the reading on the emotional level, wouldn’t it?

Like trying to read a certain past event in the face.

I’m just talking here again, just trying to figure stuff out.

    Blessings!!

CONSTANTINE, thanks so much for your talking and figuring about Face Reading.

Glad you like WRINKLES ARE GOD’S MAKEUP. I spent 9 1/2 years on it, and it’s definitely my most in-depth of the three Face Reading books.

When you’re interested in how past experiences have affected people, with Face Reading the best approach is to find before- and after- photos of the person. Read the face each time, which is just the kind of compassion-building Face Reading that you learn to do from that book.

Personally, I’m interested in that evolution. As for more curiosity about the past, you could also do in-depth Aura Reading from the paired photos.

For HEALING frozen blocks of energy from difficult life experiences, Energy Release Regression Therapy is a breakthrough technology. I do find it troubling when people get psychic readings about their past lives, “explaining” about what was learned. Because frozen blocks of energy stay stuck that way, yet the client may assume “knowing = healing.”

    Not so.
