Aw, SUZANNE, just use all the techniques in the book, one step at a time. Start with Minor cords of attachment. Confidence will develop with practice.

You are a pioneer! And I understand where you are coming from--you deal with some heavy heavy auras!
Humor is totally the way to go :-) Thanks for all the TLC. I would love to cut a cord a week, but first I need to master questioning so that I know where the cord is. Do you have a suggestion for an intention or type of session that might help me be better able to recognize my own answers to questioning?

SUZANNE, you're so welcome.

I do appreciate where you're coming from, and that is the main reason why I lavished so much TLC on responding to your question.

Cutting a cord of attachment once a week would actually be just about perfect. Use that systematic system in "Cut Cords of Attachment" and remember to start with doing all your Minor Cords. Or else come to me, as you can, for releasing the Major Cords. And we'll take it from there.

Incidentally, I know that the combo of deep, innovative content and silly humor is quirky. You're not the first reader to be put off by it.

This is just the best way I know for communicating the leading-edge material, especially since I work in fields that are dismissed (so far) by the big shots in psychology, medicine, etc.

I figure, if there are some jokes along the way, the knowledge won't be so intimidating.

If you compare the amount of humor in my books over time, the trend is for funnier and lighter.

The majority of my readers do seem to like this. Still, I'll tell you what is the weirdest part for me:

Some readers and publishers only notice the humor. They assume that everything I am writing about is established, universal knowledge. So there is no acknowledgment that the content is pioneering.

I'm most grateful to the Divine Beings who have helped me to write some first books on certain topics -- first books in the English language and, far as I can tell from responses from foreign publishers, in any language. Specifically, there has been the first book about cutting cords of attachment and the first book for systematically helping empaths.

With Face Reading, I didn't write the first book but was given a completely different system in the 5,000-year history of physiognomy. Which is why I'm known, within my field, as "The Mother of American Physiognomy."

With Aura Reading, that had also been practiced for thousands of years before I got into the act. But, within that field, I've had the privilege of bringing out a highly counter-culture system as well. As you know.

And if I didn't do this laughing all the way, there's a good chance that by now I'd be crying or snarling. Because not every reader or student is as appreciative as My Suzanne.

Still, it is strange when people assume that I just toss off entertaining how-to books with no innovation involved. With practice, I'm sure I could become much more pompous. But I've been reluctant to give myself that kind of practice.

Actually, I have worked quite hard to get all my acknowledgements of intellectual property from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. You know:

* Empath Empowerment (TM)
* Aura Reading Through All Your Senses (R)
* Face Reading Secrets (R)
* 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment (R)

My friend, and mentor, Bill Bauman, Ph.D., is fully aware of the pathos in my writing career. It was so sweet of him, when he wrote the back cover review for "Cut Cords of Attachment," that he started this way:

"Engaging and fun to read, this how-to is based on important discoveries that deserve to be considered seriously." etc.

Hi Rose,

Yes, indeed it has been fun. Now, you make a good point but let me be clear that I am usually an in-depth reader, not a twitter reader. I had some resistance to your writing style when I first started reading your books, perhaps because your style (light, fun-loving, and yes, smart-alecky !) is very different from my own.

I have no doubt that I have a frozen block about it :-)and I have come to appreciate that your lightness of approach does not mean light content. And I value your wisdom very highly and so appreciate the time/effort you put into teaching/healing! I feel very lucky to have met you.

I read what you said on another post about stuff in one's aura making it difficult to learn the skill sets--and I think that this is probably the case with me because I have noticed since the cord was cut to my mother that I am more sensitive to energy. It makes me want to cut a cord a week. I know that would not be wise.

Anyway, I look forward to learning everything I can from you and to passing what I learn along as well.

With deepest thanks!

SUZANNE, it sure has been fun being your pen-blog-pal today. One general point still remains to be said, I think.

Reading over this exchange about what is involved in becoming a Skilled Empath, such as the use of the how-to book "Empowered by Empathy," it may seem a little intimidating.

Readers, keep in mind the story that unfolded here at this blog today. Suzanne, you were having a bunch o' problems with becoming a Skilled Empath, and I answered one good question after another. But the real problem, as you mentioned in your last comment of this series, was... to paraphrase:

"Oh well, I guess maybe, perhaps, one reason why I have had some difficulties with becoming a Skilled Empath is that I skimmed over the book."

Books aren't to be worshipped. Not mine, anyway! But it's so easy in our age of Twitter and TV and Dummies approaches to barely read at all. Most publishers prefer "high concept books." They are designed that people expect something "new" to be a rehash of all they know all ready, with one cute new gimmick added. Then the reader can feel very proud of self and masterful.

By contrast, the system of Empath Empowerment (TM) is a complete, and extremely different, method for doing something that every born empath can do successfully. Yet it is definitely different.

Developing this skill set really is about as easy/tricky as learning to ride a bicycle. Nobody else can give you the balance, but someone can teach you how to find it. I'm honored by receiving your trust if you will let that person be me.

Do readers and students manage to succeed at becoming Skilled Empaths? Yes, they really do, magnificently.

SUZANNE, reading the book quickly your first time around is actually best. "Empowered by Empathy" is dense, full of concepts written about for the first time in English (and in other languages as well).

It can take a while for all you Empath Pioneers to become comfortable with these new concepts. Then it's time to go back to the book.

Also, hilariously, many readers think that unless every anecdote, example, and joke resonates perfectly for them, nothing else in the book applies. Yoicks! ;-)

Glad you're past that now, Suzanne. Choose the parts of the book that DO help you and then you can have the results.

Thanks Rose!

I am very excited that the new book will be covering a lot of this. Awesome!

Yes, when I read the book the first time I doubted that I even was much of an empath. I love to go shopping, I enjoy group events, I've never considered myself to get "malled" other than being physically tired after outings. I don't ever burst out laughing involuntarily in tense situations. The only gift I thought I might have is holistic knowing, because I do often take on responsibility for hosting at parties.

So, I did not read as carefully as I might have. I will reread it and check out your novel as well!

Q. SUZANNE: Anyway, I would appreciate any more info about what it is like for people who have this gift.

A. ROSE: Good news here. I wrote an entire novel just to do this, because sometimes a story will give more info. about what it feels like, day by day, going from being an unskilled empath to the much more empowered state of being a Skilled Empath.

That novel is called "The Roar of the Huntids" and you can learn more about it here:

http://www.rose-rosetree.com/roarbook.htm

and purchase it by calling 800-345-6665, tollfree and available 24/7 in the U.S. and Canada.

Thanks so much, Suzanne, for asking such interesting and heartfelt questions.

Q. SUZANNE: I once fainted in the car when my mother was telling me about a health problem she was having: I’m guessing that was Emotional Oneness.

A. Actually I would call that a different empath gift, Physical Oneness.

For all you Blog-Buddies who wonder which gift(s) you have as an empath, let me tell you about a great reasource: "Empowered by Empathy," Chapter 3, Pages 33-56.

Even someone like you, Suzanne, who has already read the book once, might want to read it again. Now that you have started moving in the direction of becoming a Skilled Empath, you will be able to understand the information more clearly.
