Want Better Results from Your Healing Session?
July 15th, 2009 by Rose Rosetree
Last night, I dreamt that I sat with a psychic. Something she said at the start of our session made me trust her. Quickly the most delightful kind of relaxation swept through me.
This psychic was someone I could trust. Once I realized that, I knew exactly what to expect. In my reading, she would tell me everything that I most needed to know. I could just sit back and listen and learn. She would tell me all about the meaning of my life, my past, my future, my life contract.
Such a great feeling! Who wouldn’t love that?
Unfortunately, the psychic reading in my dream passed all too quickly. Before leaving, I wailed, “Is that all?” Because I hadn’t really learned much that had helped me. Or, actually, anything that had helped me. On waking, all I could really remember was my disappointment.
It was a perfect experience, really.
Because when I went to sleep last night, I planned to write about today’s blog topic. What can you do if you want results from your session to be extra good, or better than what you have had with previous sessions. With anyone.
Healing sessions that I offer include Aura Healing and Transformation (a.k.a. Energy Spirituality) and the unusual type of Hypnosis and Regression Therapy that I call “Energy Release Regression Therapy.”
With either modality, after my first session with a client, I send an optional evaluation form. Not only can it give me useful feedback. Clients benefit from the reminder to think back over their experience. Did they get what they wanted? What results did they receive from that session? What, if anything, has changed?
What Can I Expect from Aura Healing?
Recently I received this feedback from “Gladys,” after her first session of Energy Spirituality:
I like Rose’s approach of having the client involved and how it’s made practical and Rose is really pleasant to work with. But as for effects, I think I expected a little more (getting more into my own energy), maybe I’m not taking enough initiative or I need to remove more stuff, I’m not sure…
So far though I think from all the energetic healing treatments I got, this was the one with effect that didn’t fade away after 1 day, so not bad at all.
Gladys could have spoken for many clients who feel vaguely (or moderately, or hugely) dissatisfied after a session with someone like me. So Gladys inspired me to discuss the most practical information I’ve learned after doing sessions that do succeed at making clients happy. Because I have done this for decades.
Now, I’m not the only healer or intuitive practitioner in the world. Trust me, I’m as well aware of this as YOU are. My hope with today’s blog post is that may educate you in some new and practical ways.
With a more thoughtful understanding of what to expect from a session, you may receive more when you’re with other practitioners as well as being in session with Rose Rosetree.
All of us work differently. Yet to some degree all of us all in the same business: Educating humanity about what to expect from Regression Therapy, or a session of Aura Healing, chakra healing, etc.
If you’re a professional healer on the level of Aura Reading, or you do Regression Therapy or other kinds of holistic healing, please do comment at the end of this post. Would YOU like your clients to have a similar understanding to what is recommended here? What else would you like ALL your clients to know before meeting with you in session?
When posting your comment, don’t be shy about including your full name and website. Clients can check you out and decide if you would be helpful for them.
Clients, feel free to comment as well. And, of course, as always, the end of this post will contain a LINKS session of resources. By now, my website contains enough articles to keep you busy for days. I try to help you find what is most pertinent, related to the topic of every discussion at “Deeper Perception Made Practical.”
For WORST Results
In any type of session, the worst approach you can take is a passive, trusting, or fatalistic approach. Of course, it’s tempting to wish that your healer or psychic knows everthing, fixes everything. Therefore, in exchange for a little money, you will receive everything. Such a deal!
I was guilty of that kind of fantasy thinking in my dream. And I’d be less than honest if I wrote that I never have had the desire to lie back with a healer, take it easy, and passively let that healer fix me.
I remember reading a book by Carolyn Myss where she described an incident related to this kind of wishful thinking. Carolyn was teaching a workshop that included personal healing for each participant. “Eloise” had her turn as part of this parade of demonstration-healings.
When Carolyn asked Eloise, in front of the group, to summarize what kind of healing she wanted most, the client rudely blurted out something like this:
“How should I know? Fix me. It’s your job to figure out what I need. Well, don’t waste time. Get on with it.”
Carolyn reports taking several moments to process her rage. And then she decided to handle the problem by refusing giving personal sessions any longer. For anyone.
What’s the Big Problem?
Eloise might have figured, “I paid for my healing. It’s just like buying a new pair of shoes. If I pay for it, I get it.”
But actually healing is not merchandise. It’s a collaboration. This especially holds true with holistic healing, where the “patient” is not treated like a set of symptoms.
Sure, it’s tempting to think that a great healer will know exactly what you want. And if your session includes Aura Reading, the client may think an aura is a huge printout of everything about you, with all that you need listed in priority order.
I have had clients say, “Since you do Aura Reading, you can see all my cords of attachment. Well, tell me which is the worst and then cut it.”
Actually, that isn’t true. A client like Eloise, or even my very sweet client Gladys, could have so much STUFF going on, it’s really hard to choose where to start the healing. And even if a starting place were obvious to a healer like me, who says that I have the right to dictate where the client “needs” to heal first?
No, even God doesn’t do this kind of prioritizing for humans.
What does work? You are the human, the one with free will. You are the one going to Earth School for the sake of your permanent learning. So you are the one who sets your priorities. Then you figure out how to pursue them. If you’re smart, you will summarize your goals at the start of a session.
Miraculous healing, supplying exactly what we need? Amazingly, this does happen sometimes. Healings, or friends, or money, or inspiration, etc. will come to us as a kind of grace. We’re grateful. We love that flow.
But such moments are gifts. Usually we need to co-create. If you wish to receive the maximum number of miracles, don’t simply sit on the sidelines ready to count.
Take an active role. Don’t just ask for “A miracle” or “What I need most.”
Your everyday life is full of clues about what you need: What ISN’T working well for you? What have you been expecting that you haven’t been getting?
Gladys, for instance, expected to be able to “get into her own energy.” She wanted results from sessions. It’s great that she realized, in retrospect, that she needed to be aware within herself. Without this, how could she tell when and if she was getting any results at all?
But Gladys never mentioned this great idea for an intention. Instead, she expected this to happen as a side effect of her session. Even though she had worked with many practitioners and this never happened!
Many of us have patterns of dissatisfaction — when we have sessions for healing, when we date, when we go to work. Anything that you’re consistently not getting or getting way too much of…. From now on, you could consider that to be useful information.
Ask for help with that! Don’t just do a Gladys and come to a session with “No intention” or “Aw, I don’t know. Can’t you figure out what I need?” Another popular variation is “I’m open. You decide.”
This really isn’t as big a compliment as it seems.
People like free. We like easy. We like things for dummies (especially if the service or book isn’t labeled “for dummies”).
We wish God would deliver a soul mate who would solve all our problems, plus deliver great sex. We wish we could dial-a-healer who knows all, fixes all, and even chooses for us exactly what we need to have fixed. We’d like that Wizard of Oz to transport us to heaven or, at least, Kansas.
So many silly variations on this fantasy theme! Personally, I’ve noticed one that goes like this: “If the food is free, e.g., at Costco, then I can consume it at will and there will be no calories.”
For Best Results with Aura Healing
Come to your session of Aura Healing with a couple of intentions, in case the first one isn’t within the healer’s scope of work.
Of course, you could also educate yourself in advance about that particular healer’s specialties. Few of us do “everything.”
Personally, I help with emotional and spiritual problems. So these are examples of intention where I can definitely help:
-
To improve a particular relationship that the client names. (Not “Fix the relationship where you think I need help” but “Improve my relationship with my mother.”)
-
To increase a strength or quality that is needed. (Not “Make me perfect in every way” but “More self-confidence.”)
-
To remove a particular pattern or problem. (Not “Exterminate all nasty, creepy people from the face of the earth” but “Help me to move on from the relationship with my last girlfriend.)
By contrast, I have had many clients who hadn’t learned much about my work. Perhaps a friend recommended me and that was good enough. (Thanks, friend.) But really, if you’re going to invest $125 in a personal session, check out some advance info. like this blog post or the LINKS at the end.
I’ve stopped counting how many first-time clients have supplied intentions like these:
-
Tell me the color of my aura.
-
Tell me the purpose of my life.
-
Tell me all about my lifetimes on earth. I believe that I have had 14 of them.
-
Tell me what I should do to be happy.
-
Tell me the name of my spirit guide.
-
Put me in touch with spirits who have messages for me.
Yes, some practitioners will do one or more of these specialities. I don’t.
For Best Results with Hypnosis and Regression Therapy
Unless we’re doing our session in Japan, I will set up a three-hour appointment with you for a first session of Energy Release Regression Therapy.
That first hour has a super-low fee because I want to make that first session affordable. We’ll be spending that whole time learning about you in some detail, helping us to set goals for your healing.
Then you get to choose one.
Some newcomers to the field of Regression Therapy expect that the best, and fastest, results will come from exploring “Whatever comes up from the past.” Only if the Wizard of Oz is in charge!
Some newcomers simply want to hear about their past lives. This could be considered the “TV Watching Model for Healing.”
All of us know how entertaining a great TV show can be. The feel-good effect could last for hours. Or longer.
Still, TV isn’t meant to provide depth healing — or have I been missing out all these years? Maybe I needed to buy a fancier model of TV set?
Regression Therapy, as I practice it, isn’t only for entertainment (though it is always way more interesting than anything I’ve ever seen on TV, including that extremely compelling show I loved back in the day, “Howdy Doody”). Please remember: A reading is not a healing.
Energy Release Regression Therapy is a healing. Specifically, it is a way to bring huge results in life by helping you to release frozen block of energy stuck in your subconscious mind and aura. As soon as you identify a particular intention, together we can collaborate to move out the STUFF most closely related to that intention.
Thus, Energy Release Regression Therapy is a very results-oriented form of healing.
Sometimes just one session fulfills the whole intention. Other times, more than one session is needed. What matters for you, as a client (and as a consumer), is that you can make progress toward your goal with every session. Maybe you don’t receive every result you imagine, but at least you receive some result.
I’d love to help you with that. So communicate, communicate, communicate.
My Advice to Gladys
One way to sum up today’s topic is to share what I told my client in response to her comments:
Glad you are feeling results still, even if not huge ones. Please remember that if your expectation is to get into an experience of your own energy more, THIS is what to say at the start of a session if you are asked, “What is your intention for this session?”
You don’t have to be hugely pro-active to get what you want, but communication will focus results.
I do think you will find that, working regularly for a while with any healer who can facilitate permanently removing STUFF, you will have cumulative results.

Just to clarify, what’s with my sessions of Energy Release Regression Therapy in Japan? Why just two hours there, while elsewhere the fee is for three hours?
In Japan, I skip that first hour because the client would have to be charged $1,350 — not that most of that money would ever go to me.
Can you imagine the performance pressure on client as well as healer under those circumstances? It’s enough that my Japanese clients are paying $900 for a two-hour session of Regression Therapy.
In America, the sessions of Energy Release Regression Therapy are done here in Sterling, Virginia (a suburb of Washington D.C.). The current fee for that first session, three hours, is $300. Subsequent sessions of Regression Therapy are two hours, each with a fee of $250.
The sessions of Energy Spirituality (Aura Healing and Transformation) last 55 minutes and don’t have to be in person. Most are phoners. All currently have the fee of $125.
This is the same with my Aura Reading Research sessions and Face Reading sessions.
Hi Rose,
I think it’s wise to help people be more conscious of their intentions in relation to having a session with you and in approaching energy work in general. It’s so much more empowering to view energy work as a collaboration and yet I can see how people new to it wouldn’t necessarily know that.
I remember when I decided to have my first session with you a few years ago. I’d been trying to free myself of the pull back to a person I’d tried to end a relationship with and I remember praying, “God, if this relationship is meant to be over, please *remove* this tugging!!” Shortly after that, I had the impulse to contact you to have the cord of attachment cut and that did the trick. I made the connection much later actually, that it had been an answered prayer.
That experience set the tone for each subsequent session, in that I’d listen to my intuition and could sense a particular theme bubbling up. It’s like I could feel the energy ‘brewing,’ ready to be released, and knew that I needed help with that and so then knew when it was time for a session. That’s probably why (besides being really sensitive) I’ve always felt immediate and permanent results from our sessions.
Thanks for the topic and the opportunity to reflect on these experiences.
Warmly,
Ann
Thanks for the reminder that we are co-creators in our healing.
I do understand people’s idea that a healer will know what it is you need most, since there is an expectation that they can perceive things about us objectively that we cannot.
One time, I visited a healer and she told me about some “stuff” going on that I could confirm to her, but couldn’t put two and two together to realize what is was, until she brought it up herself out of the blue.
I later took inventory of my life and realized where it was coming from or at least how I got stuck in that pattern. I later explored the issue through therapy, where I learned that there was an actual term for the condition.
So I guess sometimes a client may have an inkling, but may not know how to go about presenting it to the healer.
I have also experienced with some healers that being proactive about our healings is taken as “telling them what to do” and have had some frustrating experiences with that.
I agree that everyone has to realize that each healer is different and to spend time learning about their views and how they heal.
ANN, so helpful. Thank you for sharing this.
Warm thanks, that is.
LISA, what a practical reminder that every healer is different.
It hadn’t occurred to me that having someone bring an intention might be construed as interfering.
I can see that it might be considered just a bit bossy having a client say (as one of mine did):
“You will spend 10 minutes cutting my cords of attachment. For the next 20 minutes you will read my aura and balance my chakras, etc.”
It’s a wonder he didn’t try to plan out my entire day!
Based on what you wrote, yes, I should add the context: “For this healer (and many others), bring an intention. But your actual mileage may vary.”
LISA, about having a healer diagnose STUFF: This is a delicate area, isn’t it?
You had a great outcome, based on what you recounted. But then we know you are an outstanding client and co-creator.
Recently I did a session with “Todd,” a new client. He was interested in having me cut a cord of attachment. I coached him to find an intention, because cutting a cord of attachment isn’t an intention but, rather, a means to an end.
After doing this, I began our Before-and-After Picture sequence. Immediately it became clear that the really big STUFF going on with Todd was an astral entity that had taken up residence in him, bigtime.
So I asked Todd’s permission to have the main part of our session be an exorcism. Which we did. Which was a big deal for him.
All this helped to fulfill Todd’s intention, incidentally. In fact, it was central to fulfilling his intention.
What makes me think of this particular session is that, shortly before he left, Todd mentioned that “Several psychics told me that I was possessed.”
If I had a magic wand, Lisa, I would use it to undo all the times that psychics and healers simply diagnose STUFF without doing anything to heal it. At a minimum, it should be considered an ethical requirement to give a referral.
Personally, I avoid describing STUFF to a client unless I have just facilitated healing it. Or else I am going to be able to facilitate healing it in the session.
BTW, Todd is doing great. And we do have a session coming up soon. Then, I suspect, we’ll be able to cut that cord of attachment. (And Todd will enjoy the results all the more, I suspect, because he’ll no longer have an astral entity taking up 60% of his inner self.)
Hi Rose,
I have immensely enjoyed my sessions (around 10 total..) with you, most of them have been cord cuttings with 1 or 2 “thrill your soul” type sessions, and 1 session just of questions : )!
I find it a little hard to put into words the profound results I have felt from my sessions with you–the learning, healing, insights, the many “ahas” and delight, increase in clarity/confidence/self-trust/self-worth/self-respect, and the clearing out of energetic gunk!
Lately, I have been grappling with and wanting to figure out how to best use your skills and talents to help me further heal with the difficult experience I have had in my relationship to/with my mother.
I have chosen to no longer have a relationship with her (she is still alive)– the relationship was too toxic for me. I already cut the cord of attachment with her — I felt a lot of relief from cutting the cord, but I still struggle (unresolved emotional stuff?) with how I think of her, relate emotionally to my experience of her, and still feel somewhat traumatized with having had to make this choice to no longer have her in my life (something I never would have conceived of needing to do, but realized was necessary once I became a mother, 2 years ago…).
In this kind of situation, what types of session(s?) would you recommend for me to further heal this particular issue?
Unfortunately, I live on the west coast, so coming out for energy release regression therapy isn’t an option for me right now. I’m posting this online in the chance that it is relevant to another reader. THANK YOU for any suggestions you may make!
ANONYMOUS, thanks for asking. You’re right at thinking that Energy Release Regression Therapy would be a first choice. But it’s not the only choice, given the other types of healing I offer.
For the sake of “relevant to another,” I’ll say that when you have cut major cords of attachment and still suffer from difficult patterns, Energy Release Regression Therapy really is an excellent choice because it can move out underlying patterns. Provided that you can come here to Sterling, VA for a few hours.
However, I also offer sessions of problem solving with Aura Reading Research and Healing. And this is what I would recommend for you, Anonymous, if you can’t manage to slip out for a two-day trip for a couple of regressions.
Do a brief bit of journaling around situations when you start feeling uncomfortable. In your case, A., you might notice when you start worrying about this lack of communication with your mother. Stop and retrace what was happening right before you felt this way:
*Where were you?
*Who was with you?
*What was happening?
Make a few notes about this. Add one or two more incidents — notes about them.
Then bring them to a session, with an intention to heal around the problem you’re having, such as feeling bad over the relationship with your mother.
Remember, I can read any chakra databank in you, or in anyone you have ever known. This can be done at any time you have ever known the person.
The combination of this research, removing various types of astral debris (not only Cords of Attachment), and investigating detailed feedback from your aura about different life choices… all this can add up to a meaningful appoach.
Hi Rose,
Along the lines of better understanding how you like to work, I am wondering the following…
Do you always do a “blessing of light” at the beginning of your aura reading/healing sessions?
Also, do you always do “before/after” pictures of chakra databanks during a session?
I have noticed, that these two pieces have always been a part of my sessions with you, which have mostly been cord cuttings. If I didn’t do a cord cutting, but did more of a aura reading/healing, would you still do the “blessing of light” and “before/after” pictures?
thanks for any clarification you can provide!
Hi Rose,
I have had some discomfort around the idea of a “reading not being a healing…” and am wondering your thoughts on the following…
For myself, having grown up in a family in which my experience and perception of reality was routinely shamed, disregarded and criticised– getting a reading from you around some of my family of origin’s “presence in the room” or what was going on with them at the time of a troubling incident has been profoundly healing for me, largely because of the VALIDATION I have received from you around MY experience–validating deeply underground, fuzzy at the edges, perceptions I have had of gut feelings that were trampled on by my family of origin…
Is this an aura healing? It feels like a healing to me, even if it is not technically an aura healing…???
I know there can be an obsession around “understanding” and then “oh, when I understand everything, I will be happy, free, wise, unhurtable etc…”. There are obvious problems with this–namely being on the sidelines of life and living in one’s head. I have noticed my obsession with wanting to “understand” my childhood to feel better, but it seems a slippery slope–where to draw the line around how much understanding is enough?? And where does it fit in–understanding the past to understand the present??
In the last 2 years I have made huge strides in my own personal growth and in my life (I can see this in the changes I have made in key relationships, the growth of new relationships, changes in core beliefs). At times I feel like Humpty Dumpty, who has fallen and broken into many pieces. And I am in the process of putting myself back together. It is uncomfortable!!
How can I best use a session with you to help me integrate and feel more comfortable with the dramatic changes/transitions I have made in my relationships with family of origin/core beliefs?
Any suggestions are appreciated… I know these are a lot of questions, and in no particular order… thanks.
ANONYMOUS, today’s Blog Post was inspired by these wonderful questions. They were perfect, order and all.

L.V. asked:
“Do you always do “before/after” pictures of chakra databanks during a session?”
Often I do a Before Picture at the beginning of a session of Aura Healing and Transformation. Then I facilitate healing and, right before the session is over, I do an After Picture of those same chakra databanks.
It’s a great consumer technique as it helps you to appreciate the immediate benefits of a session. You can learn more about this discovery in the how-to book “Cut Cords of Attachment.”
Another good question from you, L.V., goes:
“I have noticed that these two pieces [Blessing of Light and Before-and-After Pictures] have always been a part of my sessions with you, which have mostly been cord cuttings.
“If I didn’t do a cord cutting, but did more of a aura reading/healing, would you still do the “blessing of light” and “before/after” pictures?”
Sessions that involve Cutting a Cord of Attachment are sessions of Aura Healing and Transformation. Other techniques can be involved including removal of various forms of Astral-level debris, plus using other techniques from my various skill sets.
When you set up a session of Aura Healing and Transformation, you bring an intention. Then, based on what shows up in your aura, I draw from the skill sets to facilitate the most appropriate healing modality.
Just recently, I facilitated a session where my client originally thought I would facilitate Cutting a Cord of Attachment but he really was a great candidate for an Exorcism, as an entity sharing his aura was taking up about 70% of his life force energy. We went with that.
It resulted in a gorgeous After Picture, incidentally.
Depending on the skills used in a particular session, I’ll evaluate how to spend the time. Sound fair?
If you are doing a session of Aura Reading Research, we might do only that. Or I might, with your permission, throw in a Blessing of Light to add a smidge of healing.
