Find Rose Rosetree’s Newest Book, and More
July 26th, 2009 by Rose Rosetree
Today one of my phone session clients asked about obtaining my books. It occurred to me that some of you Blog-Buddies and lurkers might have practical questions like that. So let’s answer them.
For starters, you can view all of Rose Rosetree’s books in print at http://www.rose-rosetree.com/ . Click on any book cover and read loads of information. For the audiobook edition of Empowered by Empathy, you can hear a free sound bite.
Supplementing detailed information about each book, you will find FAQs off the home page. Check out the column on the left!
Off each book page, you can find a link for secure ordering online. Or simply click here to order Rose Rosetree books. We give better quality service than you would get from a company like Amazon. For foreign or domestic shipping, you’ll get better service.
It includes a tollfree number with real humans attached, 24/7:
800-345-6665
This tollfree number works for the U.S. and Canada.
ADVANCE COPIES OF MY LATEST BOOK
My upcoming how-to book, Become The Most Important Person in the Room: Your 30-Day Plan for Empath Empowerment, will officially be published in September. If you check my website home page, advance copies will be available in August. The website home page will let you know when, and so will this blog.
EXOTIC EDITIONS
Some of you Blog-Buddies don’t live in the U.S. and Canada. I know because this week alone I have done phone sessions for clients in England, Austria, and India, as well as really far-out nations like Texas.
Although the tollfree number doesn’t work abroad, that website link will give you excellent service. Also, depending on the country where you live, there may be an authorised edition of my books there, as well. For information on that, click on this link to Rose Rosetree’s books in translation and abroad.
YES, BETTER SERVICE THAN AMAZON
Amazon.com may seem like an excellent source for my books. You may save a couple of bucks with their discounts. However, the service won’t be as good, in terms of speed of shipping, and good luck with problem solving if there any difficulties arise.
Also, there’s the little matter of ethics.
Yes, ethics.
Amazon has American publishers in a pickle, because it’s too big to ignore and too big (and unethical) to care. Amazon only gives a publisher like me 1/3 the cover price off a book. It demands concessions that nobody else in the book business demands, like individual shipping and packing of each title ordered and bizarre requests to send one or two books to the address of their choice.
These time-intensive requests lower the publisher’s share of a book sale, making it considerably less than 1/3 of the cover price.
Even worse, there is Amazon’s practice of selling “new and used” copies of books in competition with the legitimate ones. Ask any publisher. So-called “new” books that are sold in competition with the publisher are stolen, or close to it. They’re review copies that an unscrupulous reviewer takes under false pretenses and sells.
It’s bad enough to sell a review copy in competition with the publisher. But it’s even worse to sell such a book as “new” and charge a few dollars less than the legitimately published books of an author.
I don’t mind when folks buy used books, because at least the original book was purchased fairly, bringing back revenue to the author and publisher. Library books are great, since libraries pay fairly for the books they lend out.
But selling a book in competition with the publisher? Selling it as “new”?
Personally, I’m baffled how most of those copies appear for my books. Having squandered many hundreds of dollars on review copies in the past, and then seeing them sold at Amazon as “new,” I no longer send out review copies any more (except to a very small number of reviewers who have proven their integrity).
Yet you’ll still find copies of my ”new” books being sold at Amazon, in competition with the publisher’s copies of Read People Deeper and Cut Cords of Attachment. How crazy is that?
If you ever dislike an author or publisher, by all means, purchase from Amazon, especially those fake “new” books. Otherwise, if an author like me has a website, you can order there support that author’s life work.
Many of you do that every month. It’s much appreciated.
