What Not to Tell
October 1st, 2009 by Rose Rosetree
“Kaitlyn” thought she was doing my client, Yvonne, a favor.
Kaitlyn is a bodyworker, a talented one, too. One of the things Yvonne loves about her is that Kaitylyn can do aura reading.
Just one problem. Kaitlyn hasn’t yet learned the #1 rule of ethics for Aura Reading.
Recently Yvonne was having pain in her left arm. Kaitlyn told her, “You have a cord of attachment to your father. The cord is there, and that is what is causing all your pain.”
Then Kaitlyn proceeded to give her client some Reiki. Some of the pain was soothed. For a while.
Later, Yvonne called me. She knew I had the skill set to Cut Cords of Attachment. So, quite logically she asked me to remove the cord of attachment to Yvonne’s Dad. You know, where it had to be, right in her left arm.
What is wrong with this Aura Reading picture?
Unknowing, Kaitlyn had broken the first rule of Aura Reading: Don’t tell about something wrong in somebody’s aura unless you also have the skills to heal it.
Oh, the horror stories I could tell you about this particular ethical problem. Okay, I’ll share one (besides this story with Kaitlyn) and save it for last.
Meanwhile, what is the problem with just telling, not healing? Poor Yvonne is stuck with whatever problem she had originally, only now she has something to worry about.
And, of course, she is primed to go to a completely different healer and ask that person to clean up after Kaitlyn. How ridiculous is that?
Yet somehow, many people today think something like this, “It is so gosh-darned special to do Aura Reading. Every pearl of wisdom, from anybody, has equal value. And, of course, everybody who reads auras will have exactly the same amount of skill, plus the exact same perceptions in every way.
And in reality….
Imagine, for a minute, that you had a problem with your automobile, Gladys.
(
True, I name cars, too. It goes with the English Major thing. This personal abberation is not required, however for you to learn my system of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses(R) or the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment(R).)
Anyway, you take your car to a mechanic and she doesn’t fix Gladys much. The problem remains. Mechanic #1 tells you all the work that remains to be done.
When you take your trusty car Gladys to Mechanic #2, would you describe the problem YOU notice? Or would you repeat the sage words of Mechanic #1 and explain that this is where Mechanic #2 should focus all efforts?
Well, the equivalent sure has happened to me. Not as a mechanic (You wouldn’t want me for that, except for the part about being able to give a dandy name to your automobile.)
How did I help Yvonne with Aura Healing and Transformation?
After Yvonne told her tale of woe, I had to explain to her that I was not available to do work based on what anyone else said, Kaitlyn included.
So Yvonne switched her intention for the session — all my clients for an Aura Healing session supply one, whether they figure it out in advance of the session or we work it out together during our conversation. In this case, Yvonne chose, “To improve the relationship with my father.”
Then we proceeded to do the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment. We removed the Cord of Attachment to her father.
Maybe you’re wondering where that Cord of Attachment was located. Before I tell you, this point is important to understand.
With Aura Reading: 1 + 1 = 2
If you can’t find a Cord of Attachment yet, because your Aura Reading skills aren’t enough developed for it, don’t ask someone “Tell me where all my cords are.” (As many a newbie client has said to me.) Because if you can’t find the problem in an aura, you cannot then use your skills like Reiki or other techniques to heal the Cord of Attachment.
If you can’t find it, you can’t heal it:
0 +1 does not equal 2.
And if you do find a Cord of Attachment but you don’t yet have skills for cutting it (like Kaitlyn), then you aren’t competent either to Cut Cords of Attachment or to give advice on how it should be done. For heaven’s sake:
1 + 0 does not equal 2.
Not just Aura Reading math but Aura Reading ethics
If Kaitlyn actually had developed the skill set for doing a quality job of Cutting Cords of Attachment, she could have followed through with her perception and done a fine job.
Otherwise, it wasn’t ethical to enter into that conversation.
During my session with Yvonne, the Cord of Attachment to her father went into her throat chakra. Internal roots of that cord went down into both arms, also the front of the body, also into her more personal female parts downunder. So, of course, I removed all of that as part of facilitating the healing.
Please, if you don’t have the perception and skills to heal a problem in someone’s aura, don’t do anyone “the favor” of sharing your ideas. And if someone like well-meaning Kaitlyn starts in on this conversation, educate her.
Okay, here’s my favorite story so far about Aura Reading ethics
When I do a first session of Energy Spirituality with a client, it includes a quick Empath Merge. This is a one minute download of information about my client’s aura, experienced (safely) from the inside out. Saves time! Helps me fulfill my client’s intention for the session.
With “Georgette” I also needed to negotiate with my client to change that intention.
She began her session with a clear intention: “I’d like to improve the relationship with my father and Cut the Cord of Attachment to him, if appropriate.”
What I found, in Georgette’s case, was that she had a rather extreme situation of energy sharing going on. An astral entity was part of her system, had been for a long time, and now was taking up about 80% of her auric field.
Given this huge astral presence, I explained to Georgette that, in my professional opinion, she would benefit from moving that out, and that this would be the best way to spend our session time. She gave permission. And so I facilitated Exorcism #26 for 2009.
(Just for fun, this year, I’ve been counting. I’ve actually facilitated #27 since this incident took place. And, keep in mind that such sessions are a very small part of my session practice. This week alone I have 40 client hours… in just one week.)
Before Georgette left, here’s what she mentioned — rather casually, I thought. “Oh, I have had three psychics tell me that I needed an exorcism.”
What on earth were those psychics doing? It’s scary stuff they just happened to mention. And to mention something like this without being able to fix it, IMHO, is just unconscionable.
No wonder, Georgette just became jaded and didn’t think about solving this problem.
Please remember, a reading is not a healing. A mention is not a healing. A comment done through Aura Reading may be true or not, and just because someone tells you something doesn’t mean you are obligated to believe it. Or that the speaker really was right to share it.
As for yourself ethically, please, Blog-Buddies, use your magnificent gifts to help people, not confuse them.

I understand your perspective, but I still feel that there is some benefit in having someone who can see that there is something wrong, say it.I have had the experience where a clairvoyant could see that I had a specific issue going on energetically that was causing a problem in a specific area in my life that I had been trying to fix practically. She could not heal it-it was not her specialty. She did give me a few referrals though. I ended up contacting someone else on my own that took care of it.
The information that she shared with me did not confuse me-it actually made things clearer for me. I could now use my will to focus on that specific issue and get it healed, by myself or someone else.
I agree that a reading is not a healing, but that dosent mean the information gained is not valuable.
AMBER, thanks for writing. I absolutely agree with you that the clairvoyant who helped you did something responsible by giving you referrals. And you were smart to, afterwards, contact someone with the skills needed to supply the help to fix your problem.
I do, however, remain skeptical about approaches like the one you mentioned, “focus [my will] on that specific issue.”
Let’s take the example of having a Cord of Attachment to your husband. And it’s adding a huge amount of STUFF to your aura 24/7.
I’ve encountered plenty of people who are very into self-help, whether due to being super-smart or super-proud or just plain stingy about spending money on inner things “that won’t show,” unlike a nice new couch.
So let’s say you focus your will on healing that Cord of Attachment. You might manage some fine self-hypnosis, or give yourself a meaningful hobby. But you can’t permanently Cut a Cord of Attachment without developing professional caliber skills.
I can assure you, Amber, that I have encountered huge numbers of proud self-healers who are deluding themselves. Most recently, it was “Gladys,” a woman whose aura was just bursting with STUFF. She told me proudly that she was a “natural Reiki.”
Gladys seemed confident that she had no STUFF whatsoever because of her wonderful natural talent. Because she’s not yet an aura reader, how would she know the difference?
And I have encountered plenty of people who have learned a little bit of something, like taken a Reiki workshop or learned a bit of E.F.T. And then the person thinks this skill set will be plenty to “fix” a Cord of Attachment.
Reiki and E.F.T. are fine, but they won’t solve every problem in life. They won’t, for instance, get rid of a cavity in a tooth. Nor will they remove a Cord of Attachment. And no, persisting and working on the problem every day will not make a big difference, either. Strong will or not.
So, back at your clairvoyant, the responsible thing to do (which it sounds as if she has done) is to mention very, very briefly the problem and do that only right before giving you a quality referral.
Otherwise, the danger is not so much that she would confuse you with details about your problem but that you would become very clear about what she said and very vague about how to really fix the problem effectively.
In my experience, a very common type of confusion is to mistake Psychological Healing (which can involve thinking through problems and the use of your will) with Spiritual Healing (which deals directly with removing STUFF lodged in an aura).
Incidentally, you can learn a lot more about the difference between Psychological Healing and Spiritual Healing in “Cut Cords of Attachment: Heal Yourself and Others with Energy Spirituality.”
AMBER, for an excellent example of the problem with having clairvoyant perception of STUFF in an aura, without skill for removing it, check out the recent comment from EVANN:
http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2009/07/04/confusion-cutting-cords-attachment/
Here’s someone with talent for Aura Reading who is able to comment on the color and thickness characteristics noticed about the Cord of Attachment. Excellent!
Then he goes on to conjecture about “whether the relationship is right for me.” This means that EVANN is still in the very, very beginner stage of having a clue about Cords of Attachment.
Not only isn’t there knowledge about how to remove a cord properly but there’s a rather stunning idea that one needs to read and interpret the outside of a Cord of Attachment in order to learn useful information.
At this point, EVANN couldn’t be more off track in improving his relationship, or having clarity about the relationship. And he would be just as off track if he had hired a psychic who told him the cord was reddish brown and thick.
What will help EVANN? Cutting the Cord of Attachment properly!
How wise would it be, back at the cavity in a tooth analogy, to spend time squinting at the tooth decay and trying to learn about a relationship based on the visuals?
Thanks for the reply, Rose. I absolutely get your concern about people thinking that psycholoical healing equals spiritual healing. I agree that it does not.I’ve spent a good long time in counseling and therapy for some issues. Talking helped alot. It made me think about how some of my behavior was not beneficial to me or others. I also recognized why I was doing those things (lack of self-esteem and self worth). I read a lot of the books learning the ins and out of emotional conditions. But, I didn’t actually get over those issues.
I was blessed to have an awareness of metaphysics. If I did not, I would have settled with myself that everything is cleaned up and fine. I ultimately came to the conclusion that these things must be still lodged within my energy system somehow. Of course, I could not see auras, but I knew they existed. This was confirmed to me when I spent some time experimenting with great readers and
clairvoyants. They all saw things differently, but were ultimately pointing out the same things. I wondered why that was so for a long time, then I just thought “It must not matter how it appears to them. All that matters is that it is there”.
Then I started reading more about cellular memory, DNA healing, astral debris…then I came upon the concept of cords of attachment by a famous angel healer. Of course, I asked the angels to cut them for me..which did not work. Then I thought, if I could find some healers that know what they are doing, I could get rid of this stuff I have been carrying fairly easily and quickly. I could not fix these things myself, but my thoughts and ideas about them encouraged me to believe that I could find people who could. This is where my own personal will came in.
This is where my ideas and thoughts led me into playing tag with different healers…some incredible and others who should reconsider what they do for a living. Of course I spent a lot of money on the terrible ones. It took me a few years working with the skilled healers..and there was a ton of junk released in that time. I am not 100 percent healed..more like 70 percent…but that is still huge.
Anyway, I am rambling.I guess I am trying to say is that ideas can not heal you but they can lead you to healing. If I did not Google up cords of attachments, wade through all the pages that my metaphysical logic tells me is fluff (ask the angels and they will heal you with a swoop of their magic wand), and find a gold mine with your site and books……I doubt I would be on my way to getting an effective real-deal healer to cut my cords for me.
Hi Rose,
Thanks for all the info in your blogs. I just love reading them. I look every day to see if there is a new entry and i get all excited when there is.
I have sent you an e-mail, but because of my e-mail address, I’m scared that it went into your spam.
Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks again for always giving so much info!!
Michelle
MICHELLE, thanks so much for your kind words. I do try my best to pack this blog with as much information and help as I can give, while balancing the rest of my work with it as best I can.
You know, I do get dozens of spam-mails every day, and sometimes the good bits do get gobbled up as well.
In a way, the best way of corresponding with me is via COMMENTS here at the blog, because that’s the main place I answer general questions. Apart from that, you’ve got to find me in a personal session or during a break at one of my workshops.
And personal questions I answer just during personal sessions. Otherwise I’d be a philanthropic service, which is not an appropriate lifestyle for me currently, alas.
And if you want to send an email type message and I don’t respond in any way, Michelle — and other Blog-Buddies, too — you know I never got it. Because I always respond, even if it is to say, “Sorry, I can’t answer that question but please post it as a comment at the blog.”
My gosh, what country are in you where the email ends with .ZA?
Rambling, AMBER? Not at all. Thank you so much for a powerful, generous, and inspiring share.
– Rose
Dear Rose,
I am from South Africa, but moved to England about 2 years ago, but kept my e-mail address.
I am studying face reading and just read your book on the power of face reading. I want to get the book “Wrinkles are God’s make-up”.
The question I wanted to ask you was, will just reading/studying your books be informative enough? (I have read other books on face reading as well) or do I have to take your mentoring course? I really want to be good at face reading.
And the second question I had was why you don’t mention foreheads in your book? just curious….
Thanks
Michelle
Aha, MICHELLE, thanks for doing a version of your question here as a COMMENT. ) I was planning to copy your emailed question and post it anonymously. It WAS received.)
But I’m not a blog hobbyist. I don’t have hours every day for this blog, fun though that would be. Instead, I have the equivalent of one full-time job working personally with clients and students and those who order Personnel Profiles and such; a second full-time job involves running my publishing company (i.e., writing books, negotiating foreign rights, handling the details of publishing, and supporting the books via websites).
It does get just a bit busy around here.
So that’s why I can’t promise to give detailed answers to every email. And sometimes I do need to ask people to wait a little. Either that or I will simply explode, like a balloon puffed into once too often.
Anyway, I love your question, which is actually several wrapped up in one. So I’ll turn different questions into separate comments.
Yes, you’re wise to get copies of my TWO other books on Face Reading Secrets(R).
WRINKLES ARE GOD’S MAKEUP is the most sophisticated Face Reading book you’ll find anywhere, as it shows you how to do comparison readings about faces changes over time.
It may be available from LIFE OF ENCHANTMENT in England. Otherwise, go to my website at http://www.rose-rosetree.com. Click on the cover at the home page and follow through to order.
Or simply click here: http://www.pbscart.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.pl?&pg=cat&ref=womens&lnkbak=catpage&lnkref=womens
http://www.rose-rosetree.com
And to find out about international shipping, email here: pbs@pathwaybook.com
MICHELLE, we do international orders a lot. You’ll get better service from us than Amazon, including real customer service and a very competititve price.
MICHELLE, and other Blog-Buddies, the other book to study to become a really good face reader is READ PEOPLE DEEPER: BODY LANGUAGE + FACE READING + AURAS.
Learn more about that here:http://www.rose-rosetree.com/readpeoplebook.htm
And here is a list of the 50 practical categories that book can teach you to face read: http://www.amazon.com/Read-People-Deeper-Language-Reading/dp/0975253832/ref=pd_bbs_sr_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1208900562&sr=8-8
As in the previous post, I recommend ordering through my website.
I don’t think Life of Enchantment carries this title yet.
To become a really good face reader, MICHELLE and others, your very best choice is to take my Correspondence Course for Professional Face Reading.
You can read about that here:
http://www.rose-rosetree.com/facereading/face-reading-mentoring.htm
Other excellent Face Reading resources include personal mentoring sessions by phone:
http://www.roserosetree.com/mentoring.htm#personal
This can be in addition to, or instead of, doing the aforementioned Correspondence Course. Only do be aware that the Correspondence Course is your BEST option.
Also, I do give an annual Face Reading Workshop in the U.S. Dates are not yet set for my workshops in 2010, but I will offer ONE workshop, and one only, for each of my specialties.
Reading other people’s books on Face Reading can be helpful in some ways. The main point is that you can decide which system you like best. That can become a preparation for studying that system in depth.
I’m aware of two different Face Reading books that have borrowed very heavily from my system of Face Reading secrets and one even includes “The Power of Face Reading” in his title. (Gee, thanks, Mac Fulfer and Harry Perdue.)
The last time I googled on “The Power of Face Reading” I found two other professional physiognomists who are, apparently, admirers of my work. Because these women both use the title of my bestselling physiognomy book to describe theiir work.
They can get away with doing this legally, if not ethically, because my trademarked system is Face Reading Secrets(R) while “The Power of Face Reading” is merely copyrighted.
Cute, right?
MICHELLE, you’ll also find variations on ancient Siang Mien, plus Personology. There are some talented people out there now, doing Face Reading. That’s as it should be. Physiognomy has lasted for 5,000 years because there’s something to it.
By all means, browse to your heart’s content. But depth skill will not come from browsing. Instead, choose your favorite system (or favourite one, since you’re in England) and master it.
Finally, about foreheads. It’s true that I do not have a whole chapter about foreheads in “The Power of Face Reading” but they are included in discussion of Priority Areas and Leadership Styles.
Also, you’ll find more information about foreheads in “Wrinkles Are God’s Makeup” and “Read People Deeper.”
One reason, Michelle, why I do not emphasize foreheads — and you’re quite right about that — is that I take care to distance myself in every way from phrenology. That deterministic, limiting way of viewing the head does emphasize foreheads and the back of the head.
Funny thing about foreheads… they are part of the 10% — only 10% — of a face that doesn’t change over time. Yes, 90% of the face data in noses, cheeks, ears, eyebrows, chins WILL change, depending on how much a person evolves. And in what way.
That lack of evolutionary change, spurred by free will, is the main reason why someone’s forehead, interesting though it is, will be way less informative than any other part of the face.
Good that you’re getting WRINKLES ARE GOD’S MAKEUP, Michelle, because that will tell you more about things related to forehead that DO change over time.
Dear Rose,
Thank you for the lengthy reply. You make me feel special that you spent so much time on my question.
I have listend to some of the radio shows that you have been on and I think you have such a loving voice. I think that you are a good teacher and I love the way you use examples. It makes it easier to understand and I remember it for longer.
I am the type of person that has to feel good about something before I except it. And I must say that I have really enjoyed your book: “The Power of Face Reading.”
I am looking forward to getting your other book: “Wrinkles Are God’s Makeup.”
You really seem like such a busy person, I don’t know how you do it. But Thanks for doing it and sharing all your knowledge!!
regards,
Michelle
