Shamanic Techniques to Cut Cords of Attachment
October 20th, 2009 by Rose Rosetree
Working with clients and students, I have gained a special respect for those who are professional shamanic healers.
Technical point about cutting cords of attachment
Shamanic healing is done at the astral level, working with the spirits of guides, animals, ancestors. As you know if you’ve received this kind of healing from a skilled practitioner, it’s enormously powerful. However, cords of attachment don’t always stay cut when done with traditional skills of shamanic healing. Nor does the client necessarily gain information that is especially useful for personal growth and development. In my how-to book, Cut Cords of Attachment, I go into considerable detail about why it can be so much more effective to make an “Energy Sandwich” and use the other 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment(R). This brings in a higher-vibrational consciousness at the Divine, or etheric, level. If you’re curious about these technical points, read the very last chapter of that book. Or just have a session with someone who can use the 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment. You’ll be able to tell the difference.I am honored to have trained some outstanding shamanic healers in this method, and they are among my most appreciative students.
Historic perspective on cutting cords
Shamanic traditions are ancient. They have stood the test of time.
Through time, however, human consciousness has been evolving enormously. The 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment comes from today’s consciousness, based on humanity’s greater ability to raise up vibrationally, easily co-create with God, and perceive fine details about cords of attachment even if we haven’t undergone shamanic training.
So much shamanic healing is done with great quality control and produces magnificent results. But for cutting cords of attachment, do consider a method designed with the benefit of today’s spiritual consciousness.

Rose, this makes a lot of sense. I have been doing some shamanic work this year and have gotten to a point where I know that I need to cut cords of attachment but have doubts about how (both practically and reliably) this will happen in my shamanic work.
You know, JOHN, you can love the path of shamanic work and still go to to a dentist.
Similarly, you can go to a practitioner of Energy Spirituality for a session to have a major cord of attachment removed. I have had many, many clients in your position.
JOHN, I also think of “Gladys,” a client who had many sessions with me. Because she had significant health problems, and I emphasize something different in my work (emotional and spiritual healing, rather than physical healing), I referred her to a colleague who is a fabulous shamanic healer, “Joe.”
Gladys told me that she loved everything about Joe’s work except for when he cut cords of attachment. She kept wanting to tell him, “This method really isn’t great. I wish you would study with Rose. Then your doing this work would be up to the standard of the rest that you do.”
Rose, thanks for your responses. I agree that there is nothing mutually exclusive about the shamanic and energetic cutting of cords. I’ve ordered your book on cutting cords of attachment and look forward to reading it!
