JORDAN, these people have probably changed their names legally.

Certainly, legal name changing is a very important thing to do in order to be in alignment as a person. It's not terribly difficult to change your name legally, and usually I give general tips to clients at the end of a Name Research session.

For purposes of soul alignment and expression, altering the spelling of one's name isn't going to do much. Numerologically there could be some
shifting, but it's far better to research and choose and legally adopt a full name that suits you.

Legal changing: It's far more effective than using a nickname and being JORDAN "CUTIE-FACE" SMITH instead of, legally, Cutie-Face Smith.

This is so interesting! I think I'll start making my list of names now! :)

Ann's comment about Portia de Rossi's name change is really interesting - I had no idea that that wasn't her given name, and wow, I imagine that must have really changed her. It certainly changes my perception of her.

I have a question - have all these people legally changed their names? Is it necessary? I imagine it's mostly just a matter of your identity, so if everyone knows you by your new name you'll see most of the benefits?

KARIN, I am just thrilled to hear that. It's silly to assume that the parents of a newborn know that soul's potential or gifts in life. Even when they do their best, how can they possibly know?

With you, think of how far you have come from your family of origin. Perhaps you're familiar with the term "Virtual Reincarnation."

That's a term I developed because of changes I found within clients' auras (and my own), where people would evolve so fast and so far, it became like having a different lifetime added onto the first one.

As we evolve, it's especially helpful not to stay tied down to former, limited versions of self that are encoded vibrationally in an out-dated name. So bring on the personal session of name change research.

To prepare for such a session, list loads of choices of first name, last name, even middle name. Make your appointment and off we go!

During your session, we'll set up a set of chakra databanks for research, about 10 of them, as our "List 1." And then we'll use that baseline to research your "List 2."

It's hard to overstate what a HUGE DIFFERENCE it makes, wearing a name that aligns with your soul. (Though, of course, I'll try to do that overstating thing, just to see if I can. ;-) )

Wow what unfavorable names they all had! Tom Cruise wouldn't have succeeded if his name had been Stingray Huttenlocher the 3rd, that much is clear. I am also thinking of a name change.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if more people thought about the impact of their name on their success in life... indeed!

Your blog comments are helping to make that happen, Ann. Thanks on behalf of me and, dare I write it?, humanity.

I'm so happy that you decided to do these readings, Rose! They are fascinating. Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to ask them how they went about choosing their stage names? I, too, used to think that it was silly that actors changed their names, but now, since the research you and I did on my name and after reading these readings, I see how these actors seem to have been tuned in somehow. Wouldn't it be interesting if more people thought about the impact of their name on their success in life?

The one celebrity switch on the list that surprised me the most, that somehow feels like the biggest leap, was Portia de Rossi, formerly known as Mandy Rodgers. Such a huge difference between those names, almost like the leap Ben Kingsley made.

I have been gearing up for my own name change, mustering my courage to actually do it. The synchronicities are becoming humorous. I keep meeting women with the new first name you and I discovered in my name research session. And I can feel my name starting to feel more and more like a pair of jeans that doesn't quite fit right. This post encourages me to go for it. :-)

I used to think that celebrity name changes in Hollywood were silly, but now I see the power in a name! It must take a lot of courage to change one's name, too. I like how in some cultures people have changed their names as part of their changing abilities/ changing auras, too!
