Your intention for a session of Aura Healing

January 27th, 2010 by Rose Rosetree

rose rosetree, empathRecently a great question about intention and healing came onto a blog comment at “Deeper Perception Made Practical. I’m going to respond one chunk at a time.

    1. What is the purpose of an intention for a session of healing?

At the beginning of a cord cutting session I was asked for my intention for the session.

Any time you are in session with me, I’ll ask you what your intention is for the session. An intention is the basis for your getting results.

    Examples of popular intentions are:

    • More self-confidence
    • Being able to have more emotional self-awareness
    • Getting closer to my spouse
    • Moving on from my ex

When you set an intention for a session, it is going to pull in the best results for you. Moreover, you will be able to tell that the session has helped you (or if it hasn’t) because you aren’t waiting for “The Universe to decide what I need and give it to me in the form of a huge, obvious, dramatic miracle.”

Many new clients seem to assume that kind of intention. Maybe it works great for a psychic reading but it doesn’t work for the sort of session that I facilitate.

When it’s a psychic reading, you realize, the guide or channeled being is going to decide, on behalf of the Universe. That guide is an astral-level being and not necessarily more evolved than your psychic or YOU. When a psychic reading tells you what you need to work on or what is most important for you to heal, that is somebody’s opinion, after all.

In my sessions, I co-create with my client’s choice of Divine Being. In my experience, beings like God, Jesus, and Archangel Gabriel do not presume to tell a human being what he or she should do next to evolve. Instead, they co-create along with people, and when someone sets a specific intention, that’s going to bring out the help.

    2. Different types of session require different intentions

Blog-Buddy “Gladys” referred to “a cord cutting session.”

Actually, you won’t find my services listed as “cord cutting sessions.” Here’s why.

The purpose of a session is not the technique being used. An intention is a way of having your life improve, in very human terms. A session is where I use the skill sets I have, appropriate for that type of session, to help bring about that intention.

My 55-minute sessions are called sessions of “Aura Healing and Transformation” or “Energy Spirituality,” not “cord cutting sessions.” (Most such sessions are phoners, though some are in person here in Sterling, VA.)

If a client like Gladys really wants me to cut a particular cord of attachment, it’s smart to say that at the start. Then I check to make sure that the particular cord of attachment is major enough to warrant cutting during session time, plus that there is permission to facilitate removing it. (Usually clients’ instincts about major cords are correct, but not always. A completely different problem could be going on… keep reading to learn more.)

Once this is set, we can work backwards to find an intention related to that cord of attachment in some way, e.g., When cutting the cord of attachment to Gladys’ father Joe:

    • To get along better with my father
    • To trust men more
    • To use my full power when I am with men

    3. But why not just call it a “cord cutting session” if that will probably be done?

One of the skills that has developed within me during 40 years of practice is being a diagnostician about STUFF, problems at the level of auras that relate directly to my client’s intention.

As my client, you are paying for this expertise.

In this past week, I had a client, “Josephine,” who wanted to feel more self-confident. After she set up this intention, I did my usual Skilled Empath Merge. Sure, we could have had me facilitate cutting a cord of attachment for her. But it was clear to me that she was dealing with hundreds of astral entities stuck to her aura (one of several causes of what we talked about in some previous Blog Posts about “Gray Slime).

I asked Josephine for permission to use THAT skill set to help her instead. It was a better use of our time, giving her more bang for her buck. So she got a lot of help from that session, although it wasn’t the skill set that she first expected me to use.

    4. One more problem with going to a healer just to cut cords of attachment

I believe in the healing power of cutting cords of attachment, trust me. But remember that a skilled practitioner WILL do permanent healing. There is just one chance to cut a major cord of attachment.

What will the quality of that healing be?

    • It could be superb and life changing.
    • Or it could be fine work by somebody who is a beginner but not particularly sophisticated, detailed, or profound.
    • Some benefit will come but not necessarily huge benefit. It could even be the absolute minimum, and rather careless work from somebody who knows just enough to permanently remove a cord of attachment.

On the web you will find practitioners who promote their services, saying things like, “If time permits, sure we can cut many cords of attachment during your one-hour session.”

This is the opposite of a bargain, I assure you.

    5. How can you best arrive at an intention?

Gladys asked: There are at least six more cords I want cut and probably several different intentions. I am kind of confused about matching up the right intention with the right corder person.

Do one session at a time. Choose first things first.

On the day of your session, which aspect of life is up for you? That can lead you to a perfect intention. You don’t have to do any fancy match-up.

During your session with me, let’s say we get past the official intention. I’ll facilitate basic healing and, often, ask if you have a candidate for removing a cord of attachment.

Go with your first thought. Propose that name and let me research it for you on my “Yuckiness Index.” If it is a major cord, you’ve done well. You will get the very best results. Putting the session together is my responsibility at this point, not yours!

Thanks for this post; I think it will help me to find an intention for my upcoming session. It can be really hard to figure one out.

What if i want to cut a major cut of attachment.. i set the wrong intention, meaning the intention i selected doesn’t really explain all i want to come from the cutting and you cut the cord! Could that possibly affect the quality of the major cord being cut? or does cutting the cord automatically remove ALL STUFF within that cord no matter what the intention?

JEREMY, if you are learning to cut cords of attachment from my book called “Cut Cords of Attachment,” you are urged to cut at least six minor cords.

Actually it’s better if you cut all your minor cords of attachment before attempting to cut a major one.

By that time, you will have so much experience that your quality of work will be good.

If you’re asking about a session with me, no worries about your intention because I don’t want to waste your precious session time — and won’t. Often I help clients to improve on the original stated intention.

    Hope this helps.

sorry let me rephrase :) ..I was more so asking in regards to having you cut a cord. Really i am asking about my session.. so my intention didn’t really match the cord you cut ( i wasn’t prepared as i should have been), even though the cord i asked you to cut was a 10 on your scale. Does that affect the quality of the cord cutting at all? intention not matching with the cord being cut. thanks :)

You may have answered this question in your book, in which case I apologize for not having read it yet!

My question is this: Supposing you set an intention at the beginning of a session to increase your self-confidence. And then you go ahead and have a cord cut. And yep, the After Picture shows that your self-confidence has increased compared to the Before Picture done toward the start of your session of Aura Healing and Transformation.

Does that also mean that various other chakra databanks will be in a healthier state too, even though you don’t have time to check them all out?

Is it possible that you might pick a particular candidate for cord-cutting who you think has dented your confidence in the past, yet actually that person also affected your ability to, say, make money? In this case not only your confidence would increase but also your ability to make money? Would you say this is true?

Well… I suppose that if your self-confidence increases then your ability to make money is going to improve by default.

I guess I am wondering about unanticipated additional benefits (in addition to your stated intention) when you cut a cord of attachment.

I have had sessions of Aura Healing and Transformation with you where, as time permitted, you pulled out an energetic hologram from an incident that I had with the cordee.

Then you researched chakra databanks for me.

Is it possible for you to research chakra databanks at the end of a session that are NOT to the cordee?

Many answers spring to mind, RACHEL, to your Comments #5 and 6 here.

For starters, these are sessions of Aura Healing and Transformation. You bring an intention to the session, a way that you hope to grow as a person.

If you have touble choosing an intention, no worries, we will figure that out together.

For a session of Aura Healing and Transformation (regardless of whether or not a cord of attachment is cut), the results will cluster around your intention. In addition, as you sagely noted in your Comment 6, there tend to be plenty of additional benefits.

These are benefits from everything that happens during the session, not restricted to the Healing Centerpiece, or main technique used during the session.

So I know that cutting cords of attachment is foremost in your mind, and the minds of many who are new to Energy Spirituality.

However, the sooner you are able to understand what happens, the more you will appreciate that results from a session are not, ever, ever, ever, literally about one’s relationship to a cordee.

Results are pulled in according to the intention, plus the set of skills used to fulfill the intention.

A Before-and-After Picture is used in most sessions of Aura Healing and Transformation.

This is used regardless of the “Healing Centerpiece” of your session.

I mention this, RACHEL, because you are asking about sessions where the Healing Centerpiece happened to be cutting a cord of attachment.

However, many of the sessions I facilitate use a different skill set. So an important clarification is to make sure that you, and other Blog-Buddies do not think of any of my sessions as “Cord-cutting sessions.”

The Before-and-After Picture is used to help you to appreciate a very small fraction of the benefits of your session. Of course there are additional short-term benefits, plus there will be long-term benefits. It wouldn’t make sense to spend your whole session researching the benefits, would it? That would leave no time for a Healing Centerpiece!

RACHEL, you are correct that my how-to book “Cut Cords of Attachment” does explain a great deal about Before-and-After Picture.

I’m going to direct any further questions about that to the book, or you could ask them during session time with me. But I stop short in this blog of rewriting my books, piece by piece.

“Cut Cords of Attachment” is a very useful book to purchase just for the sake of having an in-depth understanding of what happens during a session of Aura Healing and Transformation. You will learn key concepts and also appreciate way more about differences between forms of energy healing in contrast to psychotherapeutic models of healing.

Sure, you can use that how-to in order to start cutting cords of attachment. But that is hardly the only use to which you can put that crammed-ful nonfiction book.

ABBY, when I pull out an energetic hologram and research someone you have known, that is simply Aura Reading Research.

This is a useful skill set that can be part of ANY session with me, as time permits. Sometimes a client has me do this with a full session — you know, it becomes The Centerpiece.

Such a session always has an intention. Whether it is Aura Reading Research or Aura Healing and Transformation, the service for you begins with an intention, such as more self-confidence or improving your love life or communicating better with other people.

So, everybody, I hope you are clear on this point. An INTENTION is what you bring to a session.

A SKILL SET or TECHNIQUE is what I use in a session.

You are welcome to tell me your wishes about which skill set(s) will be used in your session but it is up to my professional judgment to choose how to support your intention. I can promise:

    * I will always communicate with you as respectfully as possible.
    * I will preview any new technique done with you a right-sized amount of “thoroughly.”
    * I will avoid doing any technique “Just because I can.”
    * I will never, ever waste your time during a session. You will have my undivided attention, decades of experience, varied skill sets within Energy Spirituality, and also my full commitment to support you.
