    Enlightenment Life List

July 18th, 2010 by Rose Rosetree

Just as  birdwatchers keep a life list of exotic birds they have spotted, I have begun a list. Mine contains names of people whom I consider spiritually Enlightened. Not just highly evolved or talented or amazing as human beings, but spiritually Enlightened.

Today’s post contains my running list, first published on Sunday, July 18, 2010. I plan to update it over the years. I also hope to be included on that list some day.

But, hey, this is to be a post about celebration, not my personal sobbing.

Actually, I am far enough along in my journey NOT to be obsessed  (as I once was) over how fast I can become Enlightened. Panic, racing, etc. tend to show up when someone is either new to a spiritual journey or else seriously out of balance.

I have been both, just not recently.

For this list to be meaningful, I’d better give my definition of Enlightenment….

    Enlightenment, Viewed with Energetic Literacy

Without the ability to read auras (full energetic literacy), it’s pretty chancy attempting to identify when a person has spiritual Enlightenment.

    • It doesn’t show like a tattoo.
    • It doesn’t show in behavior, no matter how mellow a person may seem.
    • Enlightenment is a threshold in human evolution. It isn’t simply having one or more magnificent satori-like, samadhi-like, transcendent experiences.

Enlightened means that a human nervous system has become strong enough, STUFF-free enough, to be permanently crystal clear.

    • Once Enlightened, the system becomes so resourceful that life events that might produce STUFF, or stress, or trauma — oops, it simply can’t stick.
    • Enlightened auras have such magnificence and balance, it’s a pleasure to read any chakra databank you choose. You will find a gift of the soul, but not STUFF.
    • What else will you find in the aura of a person who has become spiritually Enlightened? Balance.
    • It’s not that every chakra databank becomes rigidly, precisely the same size. But every databank is in good proportion to every other databank. The set fits together, just like your own set of teeth. Check out those chompers in the mirror. Some will be bigger than others but you won’t find a healthy tooth the size of a freckle. Nor will you find a walrus tusk.
    • Joy — bliss — pervades the entire aura.
    • See more about a blog post devoted to Enlightenment Profiling.

Rose Rosetree’s Official Enlightenment Life List

Incidentally, on September 14, 2010, I thought it might be fun to put an asterisk by the names of those on the list I have personally met or talked to by phone. “Darshan” is the name for being in the physical presence of an Enlightened person. Yes, catch those Energetic Holograms when you can!

    82. I love that Wistancia gives recognition to her mentor, Channie Centara. It is so important that all teachers and healers acknowledge those who have mentored them. Yet, sadly, this is all to rare in America. I am just in love with Channie! Incidentally, I tried emailing both these ladies but it wasn’t successful. If any of you Blog-Buddies have a proper email for either of them, please add it below as a comment. Thanks! I like to let people know if they’re not so outrageously famous, like Mr. Hanks, that there’s little chance of getting through.

    91. Kangyur Rinpoche, Tibetan Rinpoche, proposed by — you guessed it — YAN.
    92. Singer Tony Bennett was proposed by Grace and added on 12/12/10.

    99. Dr. Andres Martin, of Yale University, was nominated by Arlene, The Groovy Psychiatrist. Updated April 14, 2011.
    100. Hooray, we are finally up to 100 on this Enlightenment Life List. Thanks to Anonymous we have the nomination of Winfried Noé, a noted European astrologer. Edited April 19, 2011.

    104. Ellen DeGeneres makes it onto this Enlightenment Life List, based on a photo from 2011. Thanks so much for inspiration from SUZANNE. Read a comparison aura reading of Ellen and let me know what you think!
    105. Joanna Cherry, a spiritual teacher who is a minister for Teaching of the Inner Christ. Added June 29, 2011.
    106. LeRoy Malouf,* a healer and teacher. Small note, I know that many of you Blog-Buddies search this list for researching people’s auras, using techniques of Energetic Literacy. (Smart!) Also you may go on to choose sessions or services with these people, which is great also. In LeRoy’s case, I do not personally recommend becoming one of his clients. It’s not that he’s horrible or unethical. I just will say that some people have not been totally satisfied with him using the Yuen Method. An Enlightened man he remains nonetheless!
    107. Joel Goldsmith, another spiritual teacher and renowned writer.
    108. Larry Dossey, M.D., one more courageous, eminent writer and teacher, added June 30, 2011

    111. American President Barack Obama, not Enlightened when elected but (IMHO) Enlightened by now. Added to this Enlightenment Life List on July 11, 2011. See Comment 492 below and also a related blog post on Enlightened President Obama.
    112. Seema Dewan was described by Meleni as very close to the late Sai Baba, another member of this list. Added on July 14, 2011. On Bastille Day, it’s especially enjoyable to read the aura of someone who has set herself free from the prison of earth illusions.
    113. American First Lady Betty Ford, not Enlightened while in the White House but someone who attained Enlightenment by the time of her transition in 2011. See her photo at 93 as part of a comparison aura reading.
    114. American healer Jill Isbell, added July 23, 2011.
    115. Actor Colin Firth, added August 5, 2011. I meant to add him all along; the omission was noted when a wonderful friend of this blog volunteered to alphabetize this Enlightenment Life List.
    116. Healer Maxima May, proposed by BRENDA and added August 6, 2011.
    117. Abdul Ballullah was nominted by RENE and added August 7, 2011.
    118. Bill Clinton, after his service as president, was added August 23, 2011. But Clinton was profiled in my monthly newsletter weeks earlier. (To subscribe for “Reading Life Deeper” go over to the Official Rose Rosetree Website and scroll down until you find the part for subscribing.)
    119. Mystic and yogi Sri Aurobindo was proposed by BERNIE. Added August 23, 2011.

    125. Jane Lynch, of Glee fame, was nominated by SUZANNE and added September 27, 2011.
    126. Elizabeth Warren, Harvard professor recently turned politician, was added September 28, 2011.
    127. Arielle Ford, bestselling writer and New Age promoter, was added October 19, 2011.
    128. Manual Schoch, a Swiss mystic, added November 30, 2011.
    129. Jozef Dominguez,* lightworker networker, coach, and spiritual teacher, and healer. Added November 30, 2011. Here’s the best Jozef photo I could find easily.

    131. Nancy Pelosi, American politician. First female Speaker of the House of Represenatives in American History.
    132. Eli Manning, American football player on the New York Giants.

Got suggestions? As time permits, I’ll do a short aura reading for free of each candidate, just to screen, and will respond with a YES or NO.

Here is my open invitation to you Blog-Buddies. Any time you have a serious candidate for this list, send the name and a one-click link to a clear photo. Please summarize WHY you are interested. Also, over 200 comments into this post, I would like to request that you help to maintain the respectful tone of this blog by including a term like “Please” in your request.

This will make it much more enjoyable for me as I provide this free service to you Blog-Buddies. Also, based on experience with the wildly enthusiastic response to this post, I request your patience. It takes more time than you might think to do this research, as does maintaining the blog itself. So I save up comments to this post and then go in and spend the hours required to respond. So I recommend you check back often or sign up for the blog — which I believe means you will be notified whenever new comments and posts appear.

Responding to your nomination, I’ll research and add that name, provided that this person DOES show spiritual Enlightenment.

Please check out both lists before submitting a nominee.

When you nominate, please don’t expect me to comment on why or why not. There are MANY highly evolved beings on earth, some with amazing talents, and they are absolutely magnificent. Yet they don’t yet have Enlightenment yet.

If you want to do research like this for yourself, just learn to do good quality aura reading. Use techniques for reading auras from regular photos, like those in my how-to “Read People Deeper.” Use whatever method you wish, so long as it works to give you detailed information about a wide range of chakra databanks. That is what I call “Stage 3 Energetic Literacy,” like the Gutenberg literacy that allows you to read this screen easily, no big deal.

Happy hunting to us all! And namaste.

    Rose,

I appreciate this post and list! I particularly enjoy the fact that several of the people aren’t necessarily hugely famous or widely known. It’s helpful to have enlightenment defined as you do and it makes perfect sense to me. Thinking of it in this way makes it all seem more down-to-earth somehow, rather than an abstract, obscure, lofty notion. It ties together, once again, the notion that we’re all here on Earth, having our Earth School lives.

I’ve been curious about the folks at Pixar, so how about John Lasseter? Here’s a link to a photo:http://fusedfilm.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/john_lasseter_carsschoenherr.jpg

I’m also wondering if Sonia Choquette would make the list.http://celebdomain.com/Sonia%20Choquette-pictures.html (the 4th one down is the most recent)

    Warmly,
    Ann

This is a fascinating idea! Here are some ideas: Louise Hay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Hay

    Amma http://www.amritapuri.org/

    Mike Dooley http://www.tut.com/about/bios/?EmployeeId=1

Is it ok to ask about people here who are not public figures, and post a link to their picture? Of course, I would also be curious about who would be enlightened out of all the people I know or used to know, but that would be thousands of people to sift through.

Does Taoist Master Ni, Hua Ching make your list? His photo is the bottom left. He is pictured with his family. He is on the bottom left. The photo in the link directly below looks clearer than the next link.

It looks like being rich and independent or having people who finance one’s life from A-Z may be favorable for being blissful!
Anyway in Bill Gates I found a painful congestion in his base chakra and not much bliss, mabe he should see a physician to check for some serious disease.

SUZANNE, thanks for Comment 1. Yes, I would include Ram Dass.

I met him actually, during a very small talk given shortly after he returned from India in an Enlightened state.

    ANN, re your Comment 2:

John Lasseter does not make that list at this time, although he sure is an intellectually brilliant and wildly creative man.

ANN, also related to your Comment 2:

You know that I have praised Sonia Choquette’s talent elsewhere on this blog. This recent photo does not meet the criteria of spiritual Enlightenment, with all respect to her outstanding psychic-level circuits.

    Only public figures, please.

JENNIFER, more on your Comment 3:

I did put Ammaji on the list just tonight. Some of these magnificent Enlightened beings I have known about for years but just not transferred their names to my list.

She is another one I have met in person. And, yes, the hug was worth waiting for.

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:08 pm
    14

JENNIFER, back at your Comment 3:

Louise Hay has helped many people, but she would not go on such a list at this time.

JENNIER, completing a response to your Comment 3:

Mike Dooley in this photo: http://www.tut.com/about/bios/?EmployeeId=1

is one good looking guy, but Enlightened? His dog in this photo has a far more thrilling aura. With all respect to both Dooley, his dog, and YOU.

    16

RENE, in Comment 4 you asked about Master Ni:

He certainly has devoted himself rigorously to a spiritual path, but I would not place him on the Enlightenment list at this time.

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:12 pm
    17

BRENDA, re your Comment 5, how fun for you to have brought up Charlie Lutes from TM and the Spiritual Regeneration Movement. I haven’t seen him since 1974!

    Using this link: http://www.amazingabilities.com/charlie11a.html
I did read the photo provided. To my perception, he does go on the list of the Enlightened, but (for you and other Blog-Buddies familiar with distinctions Maharishi made about higher states of consciousness, no, I would not agree with the claim in that webpage that Lutes attained God Consciousness.

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:16 pm
    18

Incidentally, Brenda, thinking of Charlie Lutes reminded me of Helena Olson, who probably was Enlightened as well. I remember this late yogi fondly, but back when I knew her I wasn’t skilled yet at aura reading.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find photos of her online. Without verifying in this way, I will leave her off this list for now.

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:22 pm
    19

JORDAN, your Comment 6 was a great question.

Yes, people do evolve beyond basic Enlightenment. I have observed my friend Jeffrey Chappell in this way for years, and I hope he doesn’t mind my “outing” him as moving beyond basic Cosmic Consciousness (i.e., Enlightenment) into the beginning and glorious stages of God Consciousness.

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:23 pm
    20

BONNIE, re your Comment 7, so you have studied with Michael Tamura! He and his wife are the only husband and wife team on my list so far.

As for Bill Gates, Enlightenment is a state of consciousness. It doesn’t mean that others will love that person’s actions, or ideas, or business practices. Or even how he smells!

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:25 pm
    21

KARIN, thank you and your Comment 8 for being the very first person to offer your own experiences of reading people deeper in this set of comments.

    Hooray!

Like you, I’m just one person using my perception the best that I can.

What’s really exciting here is your use of your talent for learning about what was going on in his physical system. Talent, Karin!

    July 22nd, 2010 at 8:27 pm
    22

Also about your Comment 8, KARIN, I think you were being sarcastic about suggesting a link between wealth and state of consciousness.

Yet, as I’m sure you know, spiritual awareness is completely independent of financial standing, social status, etc.

sounds like some really interesting stuff. I hope that things continue to go well for those of you that are trying this method to gain enlightenment. I am hoping to try this out myself and see if it will help me along with the acupuncture that I usually do.

Welcome, LOS ANGELES ACUPUNCTURE! Just to be clear, all the techniques for Deeper Perception that I teach via this blog and the website http://www.rose-rosetree.com

They are NOT intended as a method to gain Enlightenment. They are intended to help us use the degree of Enlightenment we already have, by whatever means it has been gained over the lifetimes.

Once upon a time, I believed (as many people do) that when I was “There” in consciousness, all forms of perception would automatically open up.

This is just plain ridiculous. Being Enlightened won’t make you a rocket scientist, a great tennis player or even someone who knows how to spell words properly.

Meanwhile, when you CAN do aura reading in depth and detail (full energetic literacy) or you have become a skilled empath; when you are a real face reader (a physiognomist, not simply an expression reader) — then you can really tell who is who in this sometimes baffling Earth School.

If you ARE considering the services of a spiritual teacher or emotional healer (like me) or a physical healer or any other kind of professional, it is smart as a consumer to check out the “who-you-be” factor. And not just to do it as a vague vibe or hunch but to use full energetic literacy.

For acupuncture, these skills would be really useful, you’re right. I have had clients and students who are professionals in this field. Since acupuncture primarily moves chi, of course it would be really important to have full energetic literacy about chi!

SANDRA, Dr. Taylor is absolutely fascinating and talented, aurically. However, at the time of the photo with the link you supplied in Comment 42, she isn’t Enlightened.

    59

About your Comment 55, J., where you proposed Eva Ulmer-Janes, the Huna shaman, for our Enlightenment Life List: She has such a lovely heart and is clearly a mega-talented empath with many empath gifts.

However, to my perception, she is not ready for the Enlightenment Life List at this time.

    September 7th, 2010 at 9:42 am
    60

You’ve proposed one who was appropriate for that Enlightenment Life List so far, J., with your Comment 55. Ooh, the suspense as I investigate the aura of Jasmuheen (a.k.a. Ellen Greve).

This pranic living promoter is exquisite, no question. But I don’t consider her ready at this time for the Enlightenment Life List.

    September 7th, 2010 at 9:47 am
    61

So, what’s the problem with 3 out of the 4 great people proposed recently by J. in Comment 55?

The common denominator is this — and the same goes for many who have been proposed for this Enlightenment Life List:

They still suffer as humans. Often quite a lot. Problems show up when I investigate chakra databanks like:

Giving Love at the Heart Chakra
Receiving Love at the Heart Chakra

It becomes painfully clear that there is still STUFF to release, sometimes a lot of it.

For all these three from J., the work itself is clearly impeccable. Chakra databanks relevant to the World Server self are just pristine and very individually lovely.

But Enlightenment isn’t only about doing good work. It’s about being STUFF-free, having bliss as an eternal experience, bringing a magnitude of healing in that person’s auric modeling.

JORDAN, from your fascinating Comment 82, first let’s consider Deepak Chopra:

GRACE, about your Comment 87, how fascinating about Zappos!

Yes, I believe the pendulum is going to swing back, one of these days, from the wide and shallow ways of living symbolized by Twitter and “friending” at social networking websites. It’s fun experimenting that way, for sure.

And if you’re an unskilled empath, shallow relationships may seemingly protect against taking on STUFF from people. Although this is hardly a substitute for gaining true (and effortless) skills of Empath Empowerment.

Eventually I do believe society at large will swing towards the depth model of relationships, in-person.

Unskilled empaths can become skilled empaths and enjoy this fuller kind of life, too.

Of course, only direct real-time contact (In the room or on the phone)will deposit an Energetic Hologram in your aura for each interaction. So useful for reading when you have Stage 3 Energetic Literacy!

GRACE, re your Comment 93, Suze Orman is definitely great with money and definitely not Enlightened quite yet.

She actually fits in perfectly with the profiles of over 100 billionaires and 20 success coaches in the upcoming “Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy.”

For now, think about proportion of chakra databanks and the “technical” term TRIANGLE or PYRAMID.

And now, on to your other nominations for our Enlightenment Life List.

    September 25th, 2010 at 8:39 am
    105

GRACE, your Comment 93 also nominated Dr. Christiane Northrup for the Enlightenment Life List.

She is, as so modestly noted at the link you provided, both a “visionary pioneer” and “beloved authority.” (And I do hope the Hay House employee who described her that way knows how her own writing talent is “very unique.”

Northrup is not ready yet for that Enlightenment Life List.

    106

With your third nomination in Comment 93, you hit a jackpot, GRACE. Yes, this Shamanic Astrologer is a molecular empath.

Partly kidding. That’s true, but the point here is that I put Daniel Giamario right up on that Enlightenment Life List. And then I used some Energetic Literacy on the two other colleagues at the link you provided:

    http://shamanicastrology.com/sams-faculty

Up they go onto that list as well. Like Star Riparetti, Daniel Giamario has found true colleagues to share in his sacred work.

    Well done, Grace!

ANONYMOUS, you write so many comments. ;-)

Thomas Crum — now I remember him from a couple of decades ago when I wrote a magazine cover story about him, interviewed him, etc.

Much as I admire him, no, IMHO, he is not Enlightened as of the time of the photo link you supplied.

    September 25th, 2010 at 9:22 am
    109

Also re your Comment 95, ANONYMOUS, that engaging Ali Crum is not yet Enlightened either.

    110

So you’re back, ANONYMOUS, in Comment 96!

Regarding Pamela Kribbe, she isn’t remotely close to Enlightened yet. Her aura has a lot in common with that of channeler Esther Hicks, which is read in quite a bit of detail in “Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy.”

    111

Continuing with a response to Comment 96, it’s really great to have a fellow Regression Therapist proposed for the Enlightenment Life List.

However Gerrit Gielen is not ready for that list quite yet.

What a sweet nominee, ANONYMOUS, in your Comment 97. Pema Chödrön, the Buddhist nun and author, would truly qualify as a saint, IMHO.

However, she is not ready for the Enlightenment Life List.

Incidentally, her publisher, Random House Germany, is also the publisher of my bestseller “Aura Reading Through All Your Senses.”

An additional twist related to our name research thread and my own story is that one of the shamanic astrologers you just added to the list, Cayelin, changed both her first and last names. :-) She’s been another wonderful mentor for me.

By the way, for any blog buddies interested in astrology, I encourage you to check out shamanic astrology. The lens through which the chart is read is different from that of traditional astrology. What a difference it’s made to me…

I am so enjoying this enlightenment topic! Besides being so fascinating, it’s especially helpful and illuminating to meet the folks who aren’t spiritual teachers per se. It really has deepened and morphed my formerly superficial understanding of enlightenment.

Also, the links provided by blog buddies have been helpful. When I watched Donna Eden doing the basic exercises I’d been doing, it taught me to put more gusto into my practice, which has made a huge difference.

JORDAN, on your Comment 129, Shakti Gawain is someone I admire immensely.

And as a book reviewer and writer, I’m very grateful to her, not only for her fabulous work with Creative Visualization but for founding New World Library.

SARAH, if Ms. Hess’s confident use of her power could translate into Enlightenment, she would definitely be on our list.

However, she is left with a very compelling kind of certainty about whatever it is that she teaches. This will cause people to have huge respect for her when they are at Stage 1 of Energetic Literacy. Her confidence may well translate into very grateful and devoted students.

Of course, what Hess teaches may be very valuable to clients at every level and be, as she says, empowering. With more Energetic Literacy, however, there might be a sense of caution around some of her power dynamics.

Why don’t you have more TMers on your list? Are you just prejudiced because you quit Transcendental Meditation yourself?

    October 12th, 2010 at 7:32 am
    139

I wish it were that simple, CARL, that everyone who was promised Enlightenment by TM, or Kundalini Yoga or Eckankar had been given their goal.

I wish Enlightenment was the all-time reality for followers of Swami Tejomayananda or Krishnamurti or others.

People may have gained enormously from their meditation practice. But even the immensely talented Deepak Chopra and the wily John Gray couldn’t get Enlightened from decades of TM — a headscratcher right there!

When I research candidates submitted for the Enlightenment Life List, I put aside the Rose Rosetree perspective as much as is humanly possible. I read the person’s aura, that’s all.

You know, the energetic literacy skill of aura reading is not a belief or a way to express prejudice. It’s a skill. When you are reading this screen with Gutenberg literacy, you could be happy or grumpy or sleepy (add names of all Snow White’s dwarves here). Your tone of voice might vary accordingly, but not the words themselves.

Sure, I know that people have been TOLD that one practice or other will make them Enlightened. Different deal. You’re free to submit names and photo links of spiritual teachers within TM or other meditation disciplines. I’ll gladly consider them for the List.

TM was my life for 20 years. I met a whole lot of meditators, “Citizen Sidhas” and “Governors of the Age of Enlightenment.” My son’s Godfather is on Purusha, where he has been for decades. I would love to tell you I know hundreds or thousands of TMers who are Enlightened. (And I have literally met thousands by now.)

This List has six, I believe. In 1974 my friend Nona told me inspiring stories about one friend of HERS who became Enlightened through TM. But I never met that person. And Nona made her transition a couple of years later, so I can’t ask her.

So six is it so far.

BRENDA, so far you are one of the champs among our Blog-Buddies for nominating Enlightened folks for this list. But Glenda Green is a no-go for the list.

In the book now being printed, “Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy,” one chapter shares the results I found from doing aura reading research on 50 Born-Again Christian teachers. I gather Ms. Green is positioned in a similar manner.

Can you comment below about her work? Or can some of you other Blog-Buddies? She may be a channeler or have New Age ideas or not, but energetically she is positioned squarely among the 50 I researched for “Magnetize Money.”

Her Third Eye Chakra databank about Connection to Spiritual Source is a few inches larger than with most, that’s all.

And, lovely though her aura is, may I say that from my perspective, the pattern in evidence there has nothing to do with being spiritually Enlightened.

    October 12th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
    144

CARL,one more thought about your Comment 139. YOU (and other Blog-Buddies) are free to submit names and photo links to people who have websites where they are shown teaching TM. Or in other leadership roles in the world.

This blog post is dedicated to reading public-type personalities. It’s not meant to be a post where people send their own pictures to have me give them feedback over whether or not they are in CC, GC, or UC (technical terms about Enlightenment from TM). As if anyone would need that, right?

BRENDA, thanks for your Comment 147, nominating a very popular spiritual teacher and writer, Drunvalo Melchizedek.

You’re clearly not the only one to have enjoyed his books, and I’d call him close to Enlightened but not quite there at the time of this photo.

BRENDA, what will it be with Max Heindel? I’m eager to check out your Comment 170. So far, NOBODY making comments on this post has proposed more Enlightened folk than you.

    And the answer is… no.

Incidentally, he (like Joan Halifax Roshi)has a significantly crooked smile. I have yet to meet anyone Enlightened who has a crooked smile.

In my system of Face Reading Secrets(R), this relates to having some habits of exaggeration (or outright deception) as a communicator. Another example came up just today, my blog post about Nick Bunick.

    BLOG-BUDDIES, might I make a suggestion here?

To you who propose candidates for this list, so many of the people being proposed are so very, very far away from being spiritually Enlightened.

I wonder if any of you might consider using skills of Energetic Literacy first to check out your nominees.

You know, I offer this free service of doing aura reading research on nominees in an attempt to help raise consciousness about what it means to be Enlightened, and how anyone — including YOU — can develop your skills of energetic literacy to be able to distinguish interesting-sounding claims, or admirable work, from having the state of consciousness known as “Enlightened.”

A tip for you to get the most from this thread is for YOU to start doing some Aura Reading Research, or Skilled Empath Merges. I would prefer if you don’t simply list people who might be interesting. You may feel shy, for now, about doing a full Guest Post, or detailed exploration with energetic literacy, as some Blog-Buddies have done.

Checking out one candidate’s photo on your own is a nice, small-scale exercise. Just read one chakra databank at a time. If you have read 10 or so, and every single one is glorious and big, THIS would be a good person to nominate for the Enlightenment Life List.

Rose, I thank you so much for encouraging us (me) to use energetic literacy ourselves.

I have lacked confidence most of my life. Now, thanks to you, I’m making steps to use my empathic gifts wisely.

I have been doubtful of myself when trying to use techniques like ‘Magic Picture’ so I am somewhat timid about trying it. I have been working on trusting my experiences and will probably try it soon.

I’ve been fortunate in my life journey to interact with a few Enlightened beings and mostly I’ve just felt a sense that the service they offered at them time was just what I needed.

With someone like Max Heindel, I assumed that because he was associated with an esoteric society like the Rosicrucians that I didn’t even have to question how I felt looking at his picture. Silly me!

Also, I have to admit, I have suggested people I didn’t think would make your list, but because someone in my life was ‘into’ them I wanted confirmation of my feeling.

All of those suggestions unsurprisingly didn’t make your list but did waste your time. I apologize for that. I will not do this again. I’ll only suggest those I feel would make your list after checking them out myself.

Thank you for this wakeup call!

DAISY, many beloved teachers and heroes to people have been nominated for the Enlightenment Life List. My responses simply involve using techniques of energetic literacy the best I can in order to tell if, from my perspective, the person is spiritually Enlightened yet. Or not.

If I though a person had to be Enlightened in order to help others as a spiritual teacher, how could I live with myself, considering that I’m not on that list yet either?

The Osho link is interesting. I know some Sunnyasi and bought a couple of his books because these people had a lovely sweetness about them which made me curious. They had stayed at his place in India and said that in his presence you felt enlightened.

His books are focused on denigrating your way of thinking and telling you that you are full of so much rubbish that you cannot reach enlightenment till you get rid of it all.

Very parental, paranoid and polemic – making a lot of assumptions about how terrible the world is, how it is not ready for this teaching (I think at one point he actually says that there are people who will want to kill you for finding this out), what a brave and counterculture thing it is to release all of these repressions – I found them depressing to read rather thasn uplifting.

I once drove down a road that was being tarred and a workman came with great impatience and disdain and directed my reverse out by banging on my bonnet and saying ‘Left a bit, right a bit, tchah, NO, left hand down.’. Unsurprisingly I did a terrible job of that reverse.

Left to myself I’d have done a reasonable job – I’m perfectly able to drive my car.

Osho through his books reminded me of that workman. I never met him in the flesh though and the Sunnyasi I know are, as I’ve said, very sweet people indeed.

    OK, Actually, questionS.

So, apparently, people can have “gifts” of their soul that aren’t really so gift-y. These people probably wouldn’t end up in session with you, but they exist nonetheless. To use an extreme example, those with ice-cold wicked hearts have those cold hearts whether their heart chakras are loaded with stuff or completely clear. Basically, their gift is… an ice-cold heart. (Right so far?)

So in theory, it’s possible to be “evil” or just really bad – a narcissist or something – and be enlightened? (Maybe?)

But ahh – an evil person probably can’t feel bliss, and that is one of the criteria. So my question will just be about the really-quite-bad, and whether their enlightenment is possible or likely.

Oh – is it possible to be very bad or evil with a strong, clear third eye? Perhaps that is what topples this whole thing.

Having fun pondering, THANKS for the blog! I do love it!

KARIN, I’m going to decline this latest request. Although this may not have occurred to you, your Comment 197 puts me in an awkward position.

In this case, I would not simply do aura reading on a candidate for the Enlightenment Life List. Intentionally or not, you are testing me. Will Rose Rosetree agree or disagree with something said by the beloved Enlightened saint Amma?

No, I’m not going to change my mind about this request. However, I am curious whether Amma told you this personally. Or perhaps she personally put it on a website. Or was it more that someone told you she heard that a friend heard that Amma said “Blah-blah-blah”?

Rumors fly thick and fast in the world of New Age, and sometimes it’s walking a fine line for me to use energetic literacy without engaging in rumors, gossip, etc.

As a related point, all you Blog-Buddies know, surely, that trying to trick someone like me is not a good idea. Consequences flow from intention, so that tricking (or misleading or actively lying to) a healer will not prove a point; it will give the tricky person mixed or confusing results.

This particular request, though straightforward and honest, is too complicated. But you have proposed many others at this blog post that I was able to research, and you’re free to propose other candidates in the future. Just avoid putting me in such a position again, okay?

JORDAN, these are great questions. So I’ll address them as best I can, taking them one by one.

In Comment 196 you asked, “So, apparently, people can have ‘gifts’ of their soul that aren’t really so gift-y.”

No, actually everybody has gifts that are good things, like the ability to ask smart questions. (Jordan!)

Everybody also has STUFF, which distorts or cripples or hides gifts.

It’s a simple model, applying to everyone who is human. Let’s continue based on that premise.

    November 21st, 2010 at 1:01 pm
    200

So, JORDAN, continuing in response to Comment 196, you asked, “These people probably wouldn’t end up in session with you, but they exist nonetheless. To use an extreme example, those with ice-cold wicked hearts have those cold hearts whether their heart chakras are loaded with stuff or completely clear. Basically, their gift is… an ice-cold heart. (Right so far?)”

Nope. Having an ice-cold heart is not a “gift.” This results from STUFF.

JORDAN, my gift + STUFF model is controversial. One reason it’s controversial is that some psychics and healers specialize in calling people names like this:

    *Wicked
    *Dark Souls
    *Evil
    *Bent Souls

I do not believe in this model and, in fact, have a few blog posts lined up for next week on exactly this topic. So weren’t you clever to anticipate this!

Jordan, I don’t know much about enlightenment, but I know a bit about narcissism. I think narcissism comes from a deep early wound, so it’s related to having a lot of stuff. (Am using Rose’s word here, I like the way she writes “stuff”)

I mean childhood trauma by “stuff”, usually to do with the relationship with the mother, but not always (this is my interpretation, there are others of course).

As a person addresses their narcissism in therapy or recovery the wound can be healed. Narcissism, in my experience, isn’t set in stone, it’s just unusual for narcissists to bother with getting better. Why get better when the defense of contempt and hatred works SO well?

I speak from experience. It worked for me for years, wow feeling superior is such a high. It keeps you isolated, but who cares when people are just pathetic any way? (I absolutely do not think like this any more, but I certainly did at one point).

Active narcissists don’t feel a lot of pure joy that’s for sure! If enlightenment means experiencing serenity and joy then active narcissists are not enlightened. Under the glittering facade of charm and enthusiasm the active narcissists I know are full of deep misery and fury, and not a lot else other than the 24/7 fantasies of power/wealth/seduction.

I don’t think a cold dead heart is a gift of the soul, but I haven’t read Rose’s ideas on gifts of the soul so that’s something I can’t really comment on. Like I said, I think narcissism comes from a wound that happens to a child. I don’t think it’s something that exists pre-wounding.

    November 21st, 2010 at 1:06 pm
    202

Finishing up with your power-packed question Comment 196, JORDAN: “So, in theory, it’s possible to be “evil” or just really bad – a narcissist or something – and be Enlightened? (Maybe?)”

Fear not. A person who acts “evil” has loads of STUFF. Such a person COULD heal that STUFF and become Enlightened.

However, a person can have STUFF configured in such a way — or have a Life Contract to explore human experience as a perpetrator — and then be unlikely to seek healing or change.

Psychologists have diagnoses for a variety of problems that could be considered related to STUFF. It’s common knowledge that “neurotic” people often seek self-improvement while people with “personality disorders” do not.

    November 21st, 2010 at 1:08 pm
    203
    Primrose said:

Just read your comments Rose you know, it is my experience in recovery that people with personality disorders ARE seeking help now.

Maybe this is a new development. Whatever it is, it’s good news.

I know people who are recovering narcissists. I never had NPD but I had a lot of narcissistic traits and I’m not alone in addressing them.

There is help for people who are willing to change. Usually full-blown narcissists need to have their faces scraped along the bottom of life before they’ll seek help, but it does happen.

It really helps to have a full blown alcohol/drug addiction and catch some hideous sexual infection and lose your wife, kids and home.

Okay, usually the narcissist will still hit the bars and pick up someone new and start over, but just sometimes the pain catches up with them and they limp their way to a meeting and start learning about ego-reduction.

Recovery is not the slow old thing it was 20 years ago. Now there is a lot of specific ego-reduciong info for the personality disordered. I think that’s wonderful.

Perhaps this is also part of the evolving consciousness that is happening to human beings. Thinking there’s no “cure” for narcissism isn’t strictly true any more.

    November 21st, 2010 at 1:23 pm
    204

And back at ingenious Comment 196, JORDAN, you concluded:

“But ahh – an evil person probably can’t feel bliss, and that is one of the criteria. So my question will just be about the really-quite-bad, and whether their enlightenment is possible or likely.

“Oh – is it possible to be very bad or evil with a strong, clear third eye? Perhaps that is what topples this whole thing.”

    Everyone’s Enlightenment is possible.

Enlightenment for a real stinker-type person, say someone who hurts people and enjoys doing this, or doesn’t even notice — having that person seek to heal STUFF and become Enlightened is unlikely.

However, there can be bits of purity in that person’s aura where that person is talented and clear and even magnificent, co-existing with STUFF.

This is a pretty common situation, actually. So consider this is a reason to be discerning and seek healing and instruction from experts with whom you feel comfortable.

It is one thing to ignore or discard bits of surface-level information that don’t resonate for you as true. It’s altogether different to learn about something spiritual from somebody who has STUFF that distorts the teaching energetically.

For instance, last week I did “Thrill Your Soul” aura reading research for Gladys. One of the choices we researched was using a hypnosis CD from “Mr. Joe.”

I told her, during the research, “Although this product has some good consequences for you, Mr. Joe has an underlying agenda that puts hooks into the product. He wants you to become a regular customer, need him more, etc.”

After I asked for feedback, Gladys confirmed that she had a “funny feeling” about using that particular resource. On reflection, she could relate to that description.

In terms of your question, JORDAN, Joe had some STUFF that could be called midly, humanly, “bad.” Yet he had some clarity in some of his third eye chakra databanks, as well. Make sense?

RICHARD, let’s take your many nominees from Comment 184 one by one.

Regarding David R. Hawkins, I sure love the name of his publishing company, Veritas.

He is an extraordinary man with magnificent attainments of consciousness but no, I do not believe he is quite ready for the Enlightenment Life List. Close, definitely, but he still suffers too much for that.

    206

Next, RICHARD, related to your Comment 184, let’s consider Kenneth Wapnick. Except the link you provided, http://www.facim.org/, does not go to a photo of him.

The deal here, RICHARD, is that if you are going to propose candidates you need to supply a quick-opening link, without my having to enter a website or take time to investigate just to find a clear headshot, so back to the drawing board with that one.

    November 21st, 2010 at 6:28 pm
    207

RICHARD, about Gary Renard (proposed in your Comment 184), not ready for the Enlightenment Life List at this time.

    November 21st, 2010 at 6:29 pm
    208

Finishing this series, RICHARD, you proposed Lester Levenson in your Comment 184. His great website is just loaded with testimonials, and he promises to help people discharge their negative emotions.

This does not necessarily reach all the way through to the level of auras, and people who discharge negative emotions may be loaded with STUFF.

(For examples, see our popular blog post “You disgust me. But blessings to you, of course.”
    http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2010/11/09/bless-blessings-energetic-literacy-enlightenment/ )

This fellow will not, I’m sure, carry big negative emotions just because I don’t find him to be ready for the Enlightenment Life List at this time.

    209

DAVE, in your Comment 185 you asked me to comment on President Obama without supplying a photo.

You also asked about “empathic tendencies.”

Your enthusiasm is great but here I’ll just remind you of a few requirements to have me comment on someone proposed for the Enlightenment Life List:

    1) My system of Empath Empowerment(R) is not about having “empathic tendencies.” An empath is born with at least one lifelong gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be other people. it is not a tendency. One either is an empath or one is not.

    2) The service I provide here at this post is not to give detailed readings of people. It is like an up-or-down vote in Congress. Yes or no, Enlightened at the time of the photo or not.

    3) Please supply a photo link any time you propose someone as a candidate here at this post.

    4) Keep that enthusiasm and curiosity — delightful!

    November 21st, 2010 at 7:35 pm
    210

JORDAN, thank you so much for Comment 186. You are absolutely right.

“Looking good” has no relationship whatsoever with joy or consciousness. It is a form of good karma. In “Karma and Reincarnation,” Barbara Y. Martin has some fascinating comments about why people are born gorgeous. (I’m not going to tell you’all because I really do encourage you to buy her book. She deserves it!)

By all means, do a Skilled Empath Merge on someone you are pretty sure is Enlightened, like the folks on this list. For others, it’s safer to start with a technique of Aura Reading. Because any empath merge gives you the experience of another person from the inside out, and often with celebrities this ain’t pretty.

Let’s pass on the person you nominated because you “don’t feel he is enlightened yet but there is something I just love about his energy.”

Both you, HEATHER, and all you Blog-Buddies, please only nominate people you suspect ARE Enlightened. This post is not for my commenting about everyone you can think of who is interesting or a resource for entertainment because you like something about a person. I’m trying to bring clarity to the concept of Enlightenment.

Have mercy, please. (Also respect for my time.)

JORDAN, what a wonderful question in your Comment 199.

Yes, Enlightened Beings do become Divine Beings. There is also the option of simply merging with the Divine. Nice couple of choices, huh?

Anyone who completes a lifetime at Earth School without becoming Enlightened does return to being an angel, an astral-level being. But the great part here is that any incarnation in a world for evolution, like Earth School (Which is for the truly ambitious) — we evolve a whole lot here. Every lifetime. Even if other humans judging us while here might think we are the most pitiful losers.

    Hahahahahahaha.

RICHARD, I am really curious about this part of your Comment 211: “Later I did realize Gary Renard would not reach enlightenment until his next lifetime after this one. Oh well.”

You realized another person wouldn’t reach Enlightenment in this lifetime? You figured out when, exactly, this would happen? You mention this as a casual statement?

How would you possibly know such a thing? I’m not saying this isn’t possible. I’m just shocked to read such a statement.

Hey, all you Blog-Buddies. I think I left something out earlier in this thread and would like to make up for it now.

I do request that you, or anyone who submits people for me to research for the Enlightenment Life List, please include some standard polite language, such as, “Rose, I would appreciate your researching this nominee.”

I don’t want this blog to become like a diner where people order up a meal by saying, “Give me Item #25, with extra fries. And make it snappy.” ;-)

And, yes, as I have had to remind people from time to time, I ALWAYS need a link that can be opened up easily. One click. Not hunt through a page of photos. Not go into Facebook or some other site and hunt around for a link.

    Thanks so much.

    Dear Rose,

Thank you very much for taking the time to address my post 193 and adding people to your enlightenment list.

From post 215 Ammachi is actually a different person from Sri Amma – Sri Amma is the wife of Sri Bhagavan. (They live on the other side of southern India from Ammachi) Amma means mother in many southern Indian languages – hence the confusion. Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan make up a couple who are both the founders of the global Oneness phenomenon. It has been said that as a couple they embody the feminine and masculine forms of divine energy. That previous statement is a good lead into what I need to say next, because now I am confused if that statement is an inappropriate comment in this blog.

In regards to post 219 I would like to say that I in no way meant to disrespect you or cross any of your personal or blog boundaries.

I do take responsibility for not trusting my own intuition, abilities and voicing that; however I do not take responsibility for disrespecting your time intentionally. I am slightly hurt that me not trusting my gifts may have been interpreted as me disrespecting your time or using you for entertainment. I do not wish to be an example of someone misusing your time because 1.) I do not feel it is true and 2.) it is probably confusing to your readers.

It is most certainly your choice how you spend your time, your energy, and with whom you share your gifts – and I want to respect and honor that. However I would have preferred to better understand the boundaries of your blog upfront. The boundaries I feel from your energy seem to be more extensive than the ones that have been implicitly declared.

Divine wishes to you on your journey to enlightenment,
    Heather

Aw, HEATHER, thanks for your Comment 230. You set me straight about confusing AMMACHI and SRI AMMA. So I will be doing that when I do the next bit of researching here.

Of course, I am terribly sorry to have insulted you. Especially when I didn’t mean to. You know, if I had been working on insult, could I have put a little more oomph into it? ;-)

It’s hard to get tone of voice correctly of posts or emails. I wasn’t trying to disrespect you. When I read, “I don’t feel he is enlightened yet but there is something I just love about his energy,” I thought:

“What on earth is HEATHER expecting from me here? This blog post has the exercise of my saying up-or-down whether the person’s aura meets my criteria for Enlightenment. If she doesn’t think he is Enlightened, he almost certainly isn’t.” — Consider the odds. Most of us aren’t, even folks who have been proposed as sure things.

“So am I now being asked to explain anything about why she loves this man’s energy? ["Provide entertainment"] Or am I being put into the no-win position where I get to say only one thing about this person HEATHER is so fond of? And then, oops, all I get to say is ‘Not Enlightened.’”

That is why I responded as I did. Not perfect, as we can both now appreciate. BTW, the leap from not liking what I wrote to commenting on my energy is an interesting one.

Your giving background on Sri Amma is a great use of this blog post.

Rose, you told me to ask questions so here’s one:

I’ve heard that people in poor countries, like some of the ones in Africa or South America, to make up for being born in materially poor places are “spiritually compensated” or “spiritually richer”, I guess to make life easier.

Does this notion have any merit or any thread of truth? And if so, If we were all to live a life of poverty, would that increase our chances of becoming enlightened in our present lifetime?

(I don’t see how Bill Gates should even be on this list if he hadn’t started his charity, but who am I to judge.)

My guess is no, but I would appreciate your comments on that.

Also, I appreciate comment 139 and was wondering if you still or occasionally do any kind of meditation at all, because I’m interested in it, but I’m not sure which way to go on that.

Okay, Blog-Buddies, here comes another round of research for our Enlightenment Life List.

Let’s begin with GRACE’s Comment 223, nominating Carolyn Myss. I WOULD put her onto the Enlightenment Life List at this time.

It’s impressive to how much Myss has evolved over the years. You might get a kick out of this earlier post:

    http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2008/03/19/has-carolyn-myss-changed/

That said, I don’t agree with a lot of her writing. One example is a quote right from the page in GRACE’s link at Comment 223.

Myss is quoted as advising, “Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one that is going to require the most from you.”

What about making a choice that brings joy? What about making a choice that Thrills Your Soul? What about making a choice that is positive according to research on a good sample of your chakra databanks?

Just because someone is Enlightened doesn’t mean you agree with that person. Teachers are available for students at every level of consciousness. When someone is both Enlightened and a teacher, that doesn’t mean that this person’s perspective is especially helpful for you.

Only one person can decide which teacher is helpful for you at any given time.

    242

YAN, way to go, supplying all those good links in your Comment 224.

Let’s amble over to Arnaud Desjardins, French spiritual teacher. Yes, he goes onto our Enlightenment Life List. Gorgeous!

    243

Continuing to research links from your Comment 224, YAN, how about Ma Anandamayi, the Hindu saint?

Yes, she goes onto that Enlightenment Life List as well.

    I am impressed, YAN. :-)

    November 30th, 2010 at 11:29 am
    244

More leads from Comment 224. YAN, have you done it again?

This nominee is Dilgo Khyentse, Tibetan Rinpoche.

Absolutely tootly, YAN. Now you’re up to three out of three for the Enightenment Life List. :-)

    November 30th, 2010 at 11:33 am
    245

Here we are, with the biggest suspense so far on this post. YAN has found three in a row for the Enlightenment Life List.

His next nominee, from Comment 224, is Kangyur Rinpoche, Tibetan Rinpoche:

Such a dazzler! YAN, you’re up to four out of four. Thank you.

    246

With YAN’s Comment 224, we’ve been through winning Tic Tac Toe. Will we go on to Bingo?

His next nominee is Paul Richards, seer and teacher.

Well, YAN, clearly Paul is very talented. But he isn’t yet ready for the Enlightenment Life List.

    November 30th, 2010 at 11:39 am
    247

YAN, we are actually getting to the end of your Comment 224….

Here is the last nominee of this set, Tom Stone, healer and teacher. The founder of Great Life Technologies has a lot going for him but, no, at this time I wouldn’t place him on the Enlightenment Life List.

You have done great with your choices in this group, though, YAN. Any tips to share with Blog-Buddies? You did, after all, find 4 out of 6 candidates who really are spiritually Enlightened.

    November 30th, 2010 at 11:41 am
    248

RENEE, good to hear from you at this part of the blog. You nominated Gabriel Cousens, the raw foods author.

Giveittomeraw.com, the website you proposed for a link, probably does have a good picture. But the way this post is done, I am asking all of you Blog-Buddies to supply a link to a photo, so I don’t have to stop and search through websites, etc.

One way you could find a link, Blog-Buddies, is to find a photo you like. Then right-click on it. A menu will drop down and all the way at the bottom (on my computer, anyway) is “Properties.”

When you click on that, you get a link. Cut and paste that link and that will be something I can use to research your candidate for this Enlightenment Life List.

If you can do this for your other nominee, from Comment 226, I’ll be delighted to research him, too.

Meanwhile, I’m going to go next to your Comment 237, because that link is just PERFECT. :-)

    November 30th, 2010 at 11:49 am
    249

RENEE, in Comment 237 you proposed comedian Jerry Seinfeld.

    Talented? Yes.

Have I seen and enjoyed every single episode of “The Seinfeld Show” at least once? Definitely.

But is Seinfeld Enlightened at the time of this photo? Not yet.

I thought Caroline Myss was enlightened, so it’s great to see she made the list. I know that a lot of people don’t agree with some of her writing. I think you’d probably agree with what she has to say about the New Age Litany stuff.

It really is fascinating to see the variety of people on the list. Many of them I feel absolutely no resonance with or draw to. At times I feel no resonance with Caroline Myss and at other times I do.

I’m wondering about another teacher, Marianne Williamson. I’ve been able to attend talks by her a few times and just love her. Here’s the link to the photo: http://www.topnews.in/marianne-williamson-21st-annual-friendly-house-awards-luncheon-arrivals-2289976

And in the search for more enlightened performers, I’m wondering about Tony Bennett.

    http://mantoos.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Tony-Bennett.jpg

Speaking of enlightened performers, I got a kick out of a comment Anne Hathaway made in her interview on Fresh Air last night in relation to working with Meryl Streep. She was remarking on how amazing it was to witness Ms. Streep be her sweet self before shooting and then disappear for 13 hours into her character. The comment she made was about the focus she witnessed and the shift at the cellular level. As in, how does she do that?? I was reminded of your aura read back at Oscar time, and how she morphs her chakra databanks. Anne Hathaway was certainly struck by witnessing the process up close and it was fun to hear her description of it.

I too also have powerful spiritual gifts that can help people to awaken to their true blissful nature and I can sense what I call either prideful or defensive ego energy. Not one’s “personal energy” but yes I can sense it from you and it is real. I can also sense that my gifts are not honored on your blog.

It is your prerogative to run your blog as you wish. Although I believe we are all here helping each other and working together so that we may grow and evolve together – I do not believe in spiritual authorities. I do believe every human is a beautiful spark of the divine hoping to share that with the world … and that there is no separate divine in me or in you or in anyone or anything – that divine is what connects us all.

You have assigned a lot of meaning onto things I have written here most of what was automatic writing. The words I wrote really mean nothing to me as I was guided to write all of them. You can assign whatever meaning you wish that serves you.

I will be excusing myself from this blog now as I sense it is not a place for everyone to learn and grow but instead fosters concepts based on a sense of separation.

Best wishes to you on your path to enlightenment

JODY, in Comment 232 you asked about an author so many of us have read, Carlos Castaneda.

No, he wasn’t spiritually Enlightened at the time of this photo. His psychic circuits were very, very developed. Not the same thing.

Incidentally, you asked about using clairaudience as part of doing an aura reading technique. Of course this is possible. Depends on a person’s gift set and the technique being used. Stay tuned at this Blog soon for a related story about… Josh Groban.

Please, everyone, do not send me sound files or videos for this. I do this service for you ONLY with a one-click-opens link to the person you propose for the Enlightenment Life List. Unless one of you wishes to give me a time transplant of six extra hours per human day. ;-)

TRUTH SEEKER, in Comment 235 you asked about the great Sir Rupert Sheldrake. I am a huge fan of this brilliant man.

Unfortunately neither of the links you supplied was valid.

Check out Comment 248 at this post for one technique you can use to have valid links.

Because of how this WordPress blog works, you are not able to embed links when submitting a comment. That doesn’t matter. But a link does need to actually work. You can always check that by cut-and-pasting it into your Internet browser.

    November 30th, 2010 at 6:31 pm
    259

TRUTH SEEKER, let’s go into one question at a time in your Comment 236, starting with:

“I’ve heard that people in poor countries, like some of the ones in Africa or South America, to make up for being born in materially poor places are “spiritually compensated” or “spiritually richer”, I guess to make life easier.

“Does this notion have any merit or any thread of truth? And if so, If we were all to live a life of poverty, would that increase our chances of becoming enlightened in our present lifetime? ”

TRUTH SEEKER, I know that I have opened up a lot of discussion about Enlightenment at this blog, including this post. But the mission of this post is not to engage in philosophical banter. I am not interested in having general discussions with questions like these, not that there is anything wrong with them.

Can you see the difference between the questions cited here and my encouraging you Blog-Buddies to use your own skills for energetic literacy?

    * Education is the purpose of my researching who (to this aura reader) really is spiritually Enlightened vs. people who claim this but aren’t.

    * Education is intended, for instance when you’all have the chance to consider that people can have some cool powers like Castaneda but aren’t anywhere close to being spiritually Enlightened yet.

    * Chakra databanks reveal what is going on. Everyone who can read this screen can learn a way that works for you to read auras in depth and detail, Stage 3 Energetic Literacy. Then you can benefit in loads of ways that are not only interesting but downright practical.

I am doing what I can to encourage all of you to become literate in this way and start checking out reality for yourselves.

You know, TRUTH SEEKER, we’ve had some rather direct conversations through comments here, and I hope I’m not offending you.

Maybe you’re thinking, what about the “Ask Mr. Enlightenment” thread?

Well, the “Ask Mr. Enlightenment” post, elsewhere, will give one person’s experiences in response to questions that have strong personal meaning, rather than being interesting conversations that aren’t really of great personal significance.

I wanted to give you’all a chance to ask THOSE questions at that part of the blog, up through Dec. 12, anyway, when that particular contest (like others we have had) officially closes.

As a TRUTH SEEKER, you have only so much time in life. I’m going to challenge you in a way I don’t often challenge people. Because you seem like a really dedicated TRUTH SEEKER, I invite you to ask yourself which questions you are truly curious about versus which ones make for a fun hobby. (What elsewhere in this thread I have called “entertainment.”)

In my 40 years so far as a New Age professional, you see, I have received many questions from people. Seems to me, some people really do want to learn. Others are just passing the time. (And there are loads of Internet resources for that, just not this blog.)

Here at this blog I respond according to my sense of the question. Usually a person does one or the other. The more sincere the question, the more time I will spend answering it.

You, however, strike me as doing BOTH, sometimes meaningful questions and sometimes interesting ways to pass the time. Because of this very unusual combo, I have responded in this highly unusual way.

If you feel in the least offended, let me know in a further comment here. I’m willing to delete this entire comment. I’m hoping you will consider it in the spirit intended and that, perhaps, it may prove helpful to other Blog-Buddies as well.

TRUTH SEEKER, you wrote in Comment 236:

“I don’t see how Bill Gates should even be on this list if he hadn’t started his charity, but who am I to judge.”

Enlightenment is not a prize for good deeds. It is a state of consciousness. It shows in having a STUFF-free auric field with good interior balance among all one’s chakra databanks.

Energetic literacy skills will tell you the truth about a person, not evaluating how much you like the person’s occupation, business model, etc. It takes Deeper Perception to assess spiritual Enlightenment.

NOT FAIR! You are handing over any responsibility for your views and opinions here to whoever is moving your hands – who you are claiming is NOT YOU. I would much prefer to hear what YOU have to say and are willing to take responsibility for. Blaming someone or something else for what you are saying or writing is a cop out.

If you truly believe what you are writing here then step up and own it as your own and share it in the spirit of learning and growing with the rest of us. I respect your views. I do not respect someone’s views who is not willing to own those views as their own but says they are little more than a puppet for some “other”. That is a syndrome that needs healing, in my opinion. Well said, Carol. I heartily agree.

As for the blog not being a place where everyone can learn and grow, well, I’m one of those “everyones” who is quite happily learning and growing.

Actually, in the threads where there are disagreements and various opinions expressed, I learn the most.

I enjoy the process we’ve been fortunate to witness here on the blog — a variety of folks expressing their opinions in relation to thought-provoking topics Rose brings up or that we bring up.

There are a few dynamics that have been brought to light along the way that I’m happy to see illuminated.

One is this notion along the lines of the New Age Litany thang that everyone is supposed to agree. Heaven forbid one should have an opinion! Let alone express it passionately!

I am thoroughly enjoying the expressing of opinions and the occasional disagreement, as it helps me find my own strength in expressing certain opinions. I call that support in learning and growing.

The other dynamic that I think has had light shed on it is a certain kind of response to a stated opinion. A label, an analysis of energy, a judgmental description, call it what you will.

Whatever happened to simply disagreeing with someone’s opinion, plain and simple?

And respectfully disagreeing, at that? It’s even possible to passionately respectfully disagree — that’s even more fun! (Ever hung out with any Israelis? I think it must be considered sport for them… :-) )

How can there be true community without some kind of healthy mechanism for disagreeing?

I don’t agree with everything Rose says. What I find healthy in all this is that she makes it clear that she doesn’t expect us to agree with her. This dynamic helps me to feel trust and safety in expressing my opinions in this forum.

I’ve discovered how I feel about a variety of topics I hadn’t really thought about sometimes because I actually don’t agree with Rose or I’ve found a nuance that works for me that she hasn’t mentioned. I call that discovery, growth, learning, and it’s exciting!

So rather than couching a differing opinion in energetic or spiritual language, why not simply state that one doesn’t agree? Why does one person’s opinion need to be taken as a personal criticism? Having been on the receiving end myself of that kind of dynamic, it sure does not feel good.

I feel like mentioning this, in this era of so much growth, discomfort, releasing of all kinds of stuff in general, given the rapid and relentless changes we’re all experiencing one way or another.

Though it can be truly a pain at times, if I find myself getting really pissed, really triggered by someone’s opinion, I see it as an opportunity to see what’s up within myself that I’m having that strong a response.

Having been spewed at myself, I decided to make this my own practice, to do my best not to spew my stuff at others.

I felt a bit sad reading Heather’s comment. In the past I’ve walked (er, limped) away from challenges myself, convinced by my rectitude and with great sorrow at the perceived nastiness of more robust people.

I never channelled anything, so didn’t have that additional layer of fog, thank goodness. But I did think “I’m a really good healer and therefore cannot be challenged.”

I am LOVING getting my robustness back and coming down out of the clouds! It feels so much safer and definitely “right.” Now when that kind of reaction comes up I cross my fingers and hope I find balance ASAP :)

YAN, let’s go through your proposed nominees one by one, as introduced in Comment 252.

Byron Katie is, clearly, very beloved by many. But this has no relationship with being ready for the Enlightenment Life List.

Those of you who have been doing Skilled Empath Merge techniques, I do NOT recommend you do a merge with her. Stick to aura reading for this one for now!

    273

Winging our way through your nominees in Comment 252, YAN, YOU PROPOSED Lee Lozowick, an American spiritual teacher (and rocker).

He doesn’t yet belong on the Enlightenment Life List but has, by far, the finest tatoos of anyone yet proposed here. Check them out, or use his photo for an aura reading, Blog-Buddies:

Wrapping up your nominees in Comment 252, YAN, let’s consider Yvan Amar, a French spiritual teacher.

Very charming, very complicated, very French.

Not yet ready for the Enlightenment Life List.

    December 12th, 2010 at 11:17 am
    275

Oh, YAN, I can resist commenting on one last bit of your Comment 252. Related to some of your previous nominees for this list, you wrote:

“These four persons have been recognized by a LOT of people, so it’s not like I discovered them.”

You know, the whole point of this Enlightenment Life List is to refine that process of recognition.

We can have countless reasons for admiring a celebrity. We can call a celebrity “beautiful” or “wise.” We may find someone is very popular, or has won a cult-like following. Why not?” Such interesting qualities are easy to read at the surface level of life.

The celebrity may claim to be enlightened — and be enlightened… according to that person’s definition. Byron Katie, for instance, might well have a definition of “enlightenment” that fits her perfectly.

However, none of this is the least bit relevant to whether or not a person is spiritually Enlightened, as defined by aura reading research. For this, requirements are quite clear. They include:

    * No STUFF in his or her chakra databanks. (That means no stuck sorrow, persistent anger, pushy personal ego, lying to people, etc. — Problems like these have definitely been found on various nominees to this list. Including yours, YAN.)

    * Relative balance among chakra databanks.

    * Underlying joy.

I’m happy to provide the service of screening candidates for our Enlightenment Life List here at Deeper Perception Made Practical. But this is just intended as a useful kind of preview for every single one of you Blog-Buddies.

Every single one of you has a complete gift set for aura reading in depth and detail, full Stage 3 Energetic Literacy. Sooner or later, you can do exactly this kind of research. So can everyone.

I do believe that a bit deeper into the Third Millennium, this level of basic energetic literacy will be found to be as commonplace as… Gutenberg Literacy is right now. (Because, for most people on earth, the opportunity to learn to read became “no big deal” by the end of the Second Millennium. It’s just a skill set that most people learn.)

If you can read this screen, you can learn to read someone’s aura from a regular photograph on this screen. Color or black-and-white. No biggie!

If you can read all the words in this sentence, you can learn Stage 3 Energetic Literacy, where you read different chakra databanks, one at a time, at will. Compare and contrast them to check out whether a person is spiritually Enlightened? No biggie!

For those of you who are curious about the practical uses of researching a person’s aura in depth from photos, you might consider that my latest book was written just for you.

“Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy” is packed with profiles of business leaders and success experts. I connect the dots between certain common patterns found with people’s chakra databanks and a person’s financial success in the world.

Since you have been following our Enlightenment Life List, I think you’ll find especially interesting the profiles of the Enlightened… and near-Enlightened… and not-remotely-Enlightened… in
    “Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy.”

GRACE, thanks for your Comment 254.

Let’s explore your first nominee there, Marianne Williamson.

I share your high opinion of her speaking and writing. Brilliant and talented and charismatic? Definitely!

Do I agree with a lot of her ideas? Absolutely.

Do I wish she would eat more than she has, evidently, been doing at the time of this photo?

    http://www.topnews.in/marianne-williamson-21st-annual-friendly-house-awards-luncheon-arrivals-2289976

    Yes, please!

But ready for the Enlightenment Life List at this time? Not yet.

    277

GRACE, your Comment 254 included another nominee I like a lot, singing great Tony Bennett.

The photo you sent was a bit hard to read. Not so much the blue lighting but the fact that Bennett was performing at the time, so he had an extra dollop of Divine blessing rushing through him — typical for a really world-class performer.

Still, hunting around underneath that is my idea of a fun adventure. And I have to say that I DO find him to be Enlightened, even if hanging out alone on a Sunday morning playing nothing more demanding than “Couch Potato.”

Behold #92 on our Enlightenment Life List, thanks to you, Grace.

GRACE, in Comment 268 you asked about Sharon Osberg, a dear friend and bridge partner to Warren Buffett. The two of them play with Bill Gates.

    280

JORDAN, how fascinating is that! I’m a big fan of Marianne’s but that is one dangerous topic, especially in a society where a person has to be really, really skinny to make an impression as an expert on female weight loss.

What I can tell you is that, when reading Williamson’s aura, I wasn’t just thunderstruck at the extreme gauntness of her face. (Had the same reaction checking out Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the new Harry Potter movie. Ouch!)

Besides that, when reading her aura it seemed to me that it was screaming for food. Yes, screaming.

GRACE, your latest nominee for the Enlightenment Life List came from Comment 269.

    What about Sting?

I think I can see why you nominated him. The man has an intensely compelling presence. But this isn’t due to Enlightenment so much as the extreme sexual charge that he brings to life.

It’s a fascinating assortment of chakra databanks, as a result.

JULIE, I’m sure it won’t keep John of God from having a huge fan base if I note that:

    1) He is not remotely Enlightened.

    2) He operates an Astral-Level Ponzi Scheme. Even on the official John of God website, it refers to entities doing the healing work:

“The treatment may consist of a prescription of energetically charged herbs; a spiritual surgery; a person may be asked to sit in the current room for meditation and prayer; given crystal bed treatments or asked to go to the Sacred Waterfall. The healing entities work primarily through these methods.

The healing entities work on people….”

    See more at this website:http://www.johnofgod-sacredhealing.com/

JULIE, so long as people equate “Anything from The Other Side” as “of God” or “sacred” or “superior to human,” there will be Energetic Ponzi Schemes.

I’m not saying healings do not occur. I’m saying that patients pay a price for those healings.

You can read more about Astral-Level Ponzi Schemes here: http://www.rose-rosetree.com/blog/2010/06/22/ponzi-scheme-astral-energetic-free-aura-reading-empath-merge-energy-healer/

    About #94, Brahmarishi Deverath.

This wonderful, renowned Rig Veda is the guy who made audio and video recordings for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1970-1971.

So if you ever took the TM-Sidhi program, and have spent hours “on the foam” listening to the required recordings of Rig Veda and Sama Veda, you have heard this wonderful man.

I was in his presence daily for months during my TM Teacher Training Course in Mallorca, Spain. On the day Maharishi met with me to formally “make me an Initiator,” this gloriously craggy looking man came over and spoke to me.

If you ever have the chance to hear a recording with him chanting the Vedas, have a listen. To my perception… he would be present, singing as a kind of running commentary as he witnessed (higher than three mere dimensions) the gods being described in the words of the hymns.

JIM, you’re showing a real flair for suspense here. Especially because the link you supplied doesn’t seem to work!

While awaiting a new image — Try the person’s website or perhaps Wikipedia — I want to clarify a couple of points made in your comment.

    1. Any person who makes big claims needs to be evaluated with common sense, whether that person is spiritually Enlightened or not.

    2. A person can have something valuable to teach you whether that person is spiritually Enlightened or not.

    3. Real-life consequences will occur, at the level of auric modeling, from following any path, whether the person who founded it was Enlightened or not. You can use Thrill Your Soul research to evaluate that before even beginning such a path.

    December 25th, 2010 at 2:03 pm

Speaking of Wikipedia, here’s a volunteer project for some of you Blog-Buddies like Jim with some academic training. You know what ISN’T at Wikipedia?

    Rose Rosetree.

As in the only trademarked systems of their kind in America:

    * Aura Reading Through All Your Senses(R), and what aura reading means, definitions of energetic literacy, that auras can be read in detail from regular photos, etc.

    * 12 Steps to Cut Cords of Attachment(R), although surely you will find plenty of other healing methods at Wikipedia. Why not such an important one?

    * Face Reading Secrets(R). It is amazing, in a way, that the 5,000-year-old art has only one trademarked system in the U.S. But the version of physiognomy I developed is very different from other types.

    * Empath Empowerment(R). Just try checking out the word “empath” at Wikipedia. You will find nothing.

Don’t you think that’s kind of sad? I do, as a pioneer in this field. A field where most people still think about “Empath skills” as “boundary work.” A field where someone seeking information at Wikipedia would learn NOTHING about what it means to become a skilled empath or do an intentional empath merge.

Of course, I am not allowed to cite my books at Wikipedia, but you’all could.

Here it is, Christmas Day, and I’m taking a break from family festivities to enable the latest comments and add a fun new quick post. Santa Claus brought me some wonderful gifts, but nowhere in that giant sack were any Wikipedia entries.

So if you’re in a gifting mood, and know how to write Wiki-style, go ahead and give the Internet (as well as me) a good step forward.

I am not here to start arguments of any sort, but I want to ask you this. Rose, Why do you feel that you have the required traits to determine who has/has not reached that phase? I’m not saying that you have made false claims about your ability to see Auras, I am simply asking why? If you have obtained this gift, as I have, then use it for the purpose it is intended for dear…Progression. The first step in repairing yourself is identifying the problems. Use your ability to single out trouble areas, once realized you can then take the necessary steps to fix that, while maintaining the balance.

Although the Turquoise/Violet suits your Mindset quite well. You are a gift to these people, many thanks.

Hmm, to be disappointed is rare for me, but here I have found it. The whole purpose behind my previous statement was to have Rose respond in her own words. No one can describe you better than yourself. I wanted to hear ‘Why?’ from her own thoughts, not anothers. (no offense intended). Every effect has a cause, but not every cause has an effect.

Days grow colder, air grows thiner, the voices of those who do wrong repeat within my Mind. Their greedy smiles and ignorant stares, They lie through their teeth, thinking that I’ll never know. To condone is human, but to forgive is divine. And Amy, I appreciate the help. It was semi useful.

I have to chime in here. I really enjoy Rose’s blog, her comments, and the comments of everyone who takes the time out of their schedules to post. I like the clear responses and the thoughtful nature of these posts. It’s surprising to me, and says something for Rose, that she allows some of the comments that she does.

To be quite frank, chiding someone on their own PERSONAL blog because you don’t agree or see eye to eye is rather in poor taste. If you don’t care for the content or the replies, I’m sure there are hundreds if not thousands of other places to seek the answers or perhaps canned responses — in whatever form they may take.

Yes, we think highly of Rose. Yes, many if not all of us have learned so much from her books and the blog, her workshops.

Having met Rose in person and via phone sessions is a real treat. She’s incredibly busy, but she makes the time to answer questions and impart valuable knowledge based on her many years of research and experience.

Rose has a crazy/wonderful sense of humor and is always, always doing her best to impart knowledge. Again, HER blog, she can respond in whatever way she chooses but from my experience her responses are always in an ethical manner.

ELAINE, how sweet. Thank you for ringing those chimes of yours.

Mitch and I had chimes for the music at our wedding. I definitely like chimes!

And I also want to acknowledge, on the first Monday of this new year and new decade, how very much I appreciate the comments from all of you. The level of conversation here is an inspiration to me.

Long ago I volunteered to serve as a spiritual teacher and healer… no matter what. For some of these 41 years, many of the people I tried to help were NOT an unalloyed delight. Although most have been, especially since around 1990. As for you’all, who comment regularly here at this blog?

Let me count some of the ways you delight me: Thoughtfulness, curiosity, intelligence, kindness, civility, perceptiveness, curiosity to explore.

Beyond that, I feel a true and mutual supportiveness as all of us move forward together toward our personal goals — be your goal Enlightenment or something else, whatever your own beliefs and self-authority hold most dear. These are the qualities you Blog-Buddies regularly share with this online community.

Had I known what sort of people you’all would have turned out to be, I might have called this blog “Deeper Perception Made SWEET.”

Bobby, I don’t really understand the vague style of language in your posts. For example, call me dense cause I’m not really sure, but it sounded as if you were angry at Amy or Rose and disguised it by insulting her via a poem.

I also got a sense from your posts that we are to you ‘these people– the little folk, energetically illiterate, spiritually retarded hoi polloi’ and I also got a sense of ‘Tis a rare day Dears to stumble across Disappointment up on this high mountain of spiritual advancement.’

That’s certainly an exaggeration on my part. It’s why I put the exaggerated part in single quotes. You didn’t say any of those things. I am just using the power of exaggeration to explain how I perceived the tone of your posts.

As for Rose’s blog posters, I happen to admire the directness, the straightforwardness, and honesty that is regularly shown.

I have a confession here. I have actually been tempted to refer to Rose as an expert on enlightenment, but I’m not sure how Rose would feel about that. Regardless, she is someone who has studied this a great deal of her life and has noticed some technical aspects that no one else has pointed out before.

I know Rose has said that she is not at enlightenment at this time, however I don’t think this is a necessity to understanding the technical aspects of it. A computer expert doesn’t need to be a computer to be an expert on them. Although, if he was a mechanical empath then I am sure that would deepen his expertise on computers. Speaking of, Rose is in fact a skilled people empath and can merge with enlightened folks. So, not only does she have technical knowledge from her aura reading skills and first-hand experiential knowledge from her empath abilities, I would also point out that it may in fact be further helpful to be objective on what something is by not being that something.

Oh! I just read Rose’s request for a Wiki entry. Recently I googled ‘empath’ and was really disappointed in the lack of info, and what little info there was, that wasn’t related to Dungeons and Dragons (LOL a fun role-playing game game, but that’s not really what an empath is) was incorrect. I feel that Rose’s website should come up first on a Google search for ‘Empath’ because this website is one of the few that does the term full justice.

I also checked out Wikipedia and was disappointed again. If no one else is taking you up on this necessary request Rose, I would be glad to help.

I don’t know much about posting entries to Wiki, but I’m pretty comfortable with computers and the internet so I think I can figure it out :)

I feel that something like this would be VERY important!

Hi Rose. About Enlightenment – in a recent comment you described Enlightenment as the culmination of many, many lifetimes. So I’m wondering – are these all very, very old souls on the list?

Does being an old soul make it easier to reach Enlightenment (a wisdom oomph, or something?)? Are old souls just more motivated? Is there a difference in the quality of Enlightenment of an ancient soul and a not-so-ancient soul? What patterns have you picked up on?

Thanks for answering this, if you have the time!!

JORDAN, has anyone ever told you that you have quite a brain on you? :-)

My best answers, one question at a time, in response to your Comment 315:

It’s none of our business, Jordan. Because YOU can pursue Enlightenment as best you can right now. Waiting for the future would be soooooo silly.

I believe that hundreds of thousands of very, very advanced souls have incarnated now to help move everyone on the entire planet who desires it to move into Enlightenment. Some of those souls might even have been Enlightened before volunteering but chose to do it anyway, because this is such an amazing time on earth.

Many healers and teachers from different traditions believe that the time between now and the end of 2013 is a turbo-charged time for spiritual growth. It is an amazing opportunity for each person who desires to strive for Enlightenment to move forward and make what I call “The Great Leap.”

The more of us who do it, the easier for others. Just think of Sir Rupert Sheldrake’s theory of Morphological Resonance (a.k.a. the Hundredth Monkey Effect).

This is why I teach people how to heal STUFF permanently, rather than doing retreads on the wheel of karma.

This is why I teach people how to develop skills of energetic literacy. By reading auras or learning how to safely do Skilled Empath Merge, you can improve your ability to observe the miracles all around us.

Just having done personal sessions in the first week of 2011, I am awed at the progress made, aurically, by some of my long-term clients.

Many are far closer to Enlightenment than some of the candidates who have been proposed for our list.

So stay tuned, Dear Heart. And, for heaven’s sake, don’t worry about how long you have been an amazing being. Enlightenment is Enlightenment.

I feel rather confused when I read posts by people like Bobby. I went through my own spiritual psychosis when I was very ‘out there’ and confused and bigging myself up, and I was SO very convinced of my experiences and so very lost in them, it’s heartbreaking to me now. When I see it (with different flavours, obviously) mirrored in other people I’m called to really love myself.

From the viewpoint of having been somewhere similar, it was horrific. It was not horrific for the reasons I would have given at the time (a key theme being other people not getting me and my siddhis, as Bobby has demonstrated a few times on this blog), it was horrific because I was full of stuff, open to all sorts of nasties, thoroughly ungrounded and non-objective and burdened by these terrible thoughts.

So when I read things which have a similar flavour I’m made to look back and reevaluate what happened to me then.

What I will say is that I can’t condemn Bobby, obviously, and nor can I write him off. Look at me. I was in a similar place just six years ago and I’m SO far from it now. I think my soul was INCREDIBLY brave to volunteer for that crazy space because it might look a little bit ‘ew’ from outside, but from the inside it’s truly horrible.

There can be a stage when spiritual siddhis come and take over and objective balance and grounding is lost. The incredible capacities of the human mind can come out, and they are very subjectively real. A lot of the recovery is about physical focus, ordinary life focus and refusing to entertain that space – choosing every day to be human not divine. This is a wonderful muscle to build up and being somewhere like that is a wonderful incentive to get working on that.

I still have to get over my cringes about it though, now and then, and like I say when I see it in action I still get confused and uncomfortable.

I actually appreciate the fact that Rose doesn’t censor these kind of posts, that people on this blog are good enough to speak back to Bobby and challenge him (a lot of people just left me to it and that is NOT helpful at all) and I think that Bobby will be here for a reason.

    Hi Rose,

I hadn’t heard of Alan Watts before so I googled him and found out from wikipedia and several other sources that he was a heavy drinker which quite likely contributed to his death at age 58.

As an Enlightened person, would the alcohol have had a different effect on his energy system? By all accounts he was a very eloquent speaker and writer, using clear simple language to talk of the nature of reality, and turned up to give talks when drunk.

How could he have conveyed the meaning of such subtle subjects when under the influence of alcohol, or hungover even?

I wonder did he have special siddhis around alcohol, or why would he want to be drunk/hungover when he was Enlightened?

I love all the posts and comments on Enlightenment at the Deeper Perception Blog, they are helping my understanding a lot. Still a bit confused on some things though…

Boy, Alan Watts is a surprise for me.

I know his oldest daughter, Joan Watts, as she lives in my community and I have socialized with her in our respective homes a number of times.

She shares openly that her father was an alcoholic and womanizer all his life. She doesn’t have much respect for her father at all.

Joan says her maternal grandmother, Ruth Fuller Everett Sasabi was the true Zen Buddhist and she always disdained Alan’s renditions of Zen saying he totally missed the mark. Ruth was the first foreigner to serve as a priest in a Rensai Zen Temple in Japan and the first foreigner and first woman to serve as a priest of a Daitokuji temple. She dedicated her life to promoting Zen in the United States through her translations of ancient Zen texts and helping establish the first Zen organization in New York in the 1930′s, I believe.

I am not saying Alan was not Enlightened, but if he was then it puts a whole new spin on what, exactly, Enlightenment looks like in human form.

Of course, the ancient Chinese poet Lin Po was also an alcoholic and Enlightened. He died by drowning when drunk and out in the river in his boat — reaching out to touch the moon’s reflection in the water. So the myth says, anyway.

This is a fascinating topic. Thank you, Rose, for putting the spotlight on it. Certainly our collective interest needs to pay more attention to this topic.

Your definition of Enlightenment equates energetic maturity with Enlightenment. I’d like to revisit this definition.

Is a ripe fruit the same as a fruit that has fallen off the tree? A small but significant difference. Energetic maturity suggests a certain level of ripeness. However, when viewed in isolation, it cannot be used to definitively determine if an individual is Enlightened.

Energetic maturity is not the same as Enlightenment. It is a precursor, and even a prerequisite for Enlightenment. But by itself, it does not constitute Englightenment. Only the actual shift in identity and consciousness is Enlightenment.

Consider how this statement sounds: “If you are physically fit and have a healthy body, you are Enlightened.” Sounds ridiculous? Indeed it is.

Similarly, if the energetic body is “fit” and “healthy” that is wonderful. The flow of energy accompanied by balance in the energetic body is great to have. But by itself, it cannot be interpreted to have also resulted in the complete shift out of ego consciousness that Enlightenment requires.

Readers of this blog may find the articles exploring evolution of consciousness at http://lucidfield.com/tools.html of interest.

It would also be nice to have Mr. Enlightenment (Jeffrey Chappell, whom you interviewed) provide his thoughts on this post.

Thanks, SRAMA, for sharing your thoughts and directing us to your website. Clearly this is no casual hobby for you, caring about what Enlightenment requires and doing what you can to bring this to earth.

Just for the record, I don’t know exactly how you got the idea that I define Enlightenment as “energetic maturity.”

When I research candidates for the Enlightenment Life List, I’m checking for the full use of that person’s gifts, energetic resourcefulness, balance between different chakra databanks, absence of STUFF, having components of being human being fully as strong as spiritual connection and BLISS.

What do you think it feels like on the inside, having all of that in place? If your guess is “ego consciousness,” you might want to guess again. ;-)

Thanks Rose for your prompt response.

Your assessment of enlightened people felt energy-based because:

    (a) You note Enlightenment as “a human nervous system (that) has become strong enough, STUFF-free enough, to be permanently crystal clear.”

    (b) You refer to the ability to read the auric field/full energetic literacy to ascertain if an individual is Enlightened.

    (c) You state that the aura of an Enlightened person is balanced.

    (d) You mention reading chakra databanks, which are located in the energy body.

Based on this, it appears that you emphasize primarily energetic maturity (my term for referring to a strong, clear, vibrant, actualized and balanced energy field) when you talk about Enlightenment.

Not trying to split hairs here, but pointing to what could be an important oversight. Energy goes beyond matter. Similarly consciousness transcends energy. And enlightenment ultimately is about consciousness. Energy is one important clue, but not the whole story.

You mention reading joy and bliss in the aura, which is good! You may be tapping into some of the pure consciousness layers.

Perhaps there is an additional consciousness element(s)/layer(s) that needs to be taken into account for the definitive identification of enlightened beings.

Can we leave the door slightly open to the possibility that there may be aspects of the consciousness not fully apparent to our current state of understanding? That way we create space and openness for something grander and truer to enter.

Thanks for your attention, and for the delightful discussion!

Next on to responding to Comment 337, with ASHLEY S’s inquiry about Anna Wise. Her research sure sounds important and fascinating. The photo link supplied is this one:

    http://www.enlightenedhorsemanship.net/tag/httpannawise-com/

Now, ASHLEY, this woman is off-the-charts brilliant and has so much going for her. At this time, however, Enlightenment (as I would define it) isn’t part of the profile.

I was going through the Enlightenment Life List and checking out the pictures and sites of the people on it today.

When I got to the picture and site of Sri Bhagavan of the Oneness Phenomenon I found some videos of others on the site. I watched the video of Shanthi Christian here: http://www.onenessuniversity.org/experiences_video.html

This is in reference, Rose, to your emphasis on being a householder and enlightened in this life and at this time for the world. Toward the end of Shanthi Christian’s talk, he emphasized that it is very important to today’s seekers to choose a career that strongly binds them to the laws of the natural world to keep us “honest” and out of magical/fantasy thinking.

Quite a powerful witness for your admonishment of the same practice. This man is a nuclear physicist and holds many patents in that field for specific machines used in Nuclear Power Plants. A wonderful talk for anyone who is interested in another man’s stages to Enlightenment and advice.

ANONYMOUS, thank you for proposing Hajo Banzhaf, the German author on tarot and astrology.

I eagerly looked him up at:

because we are getting close to 100 people on that Enlightenment Life List. Brainy man, with fabulous psychic abilities — still, IMHO, he’s not eligible yet for the Enlightenment Life List.

Incidentally, to this face reader, Banzhaf has one glorious mark of devotion and THREE anger flags, two on his right and one on his left.

    Good Morning, Rose,

Thank you for welcoming me to your online community. In time, I will definitely check out what you have graciously made available in hopes of helping others. But, I will be honest with you in saying that this blog was running though my mind all night! :-/ It was an emotional roller coaster for me.

With all the different vibrations wonderfully chiming in. I (which is no surprise to those who know me) really had to practice some major self-control in order to wait until I got to the end to made a comment!

After just reading this blog, and opening the attachments that are on this blog, I believe there is a reason that I came across you and your website… as I “do not” believe in coincidence.

I feel you need to know that… I googled the words “empath book” and your site was the “first one” on the list. Know that although “to me” that does not make a difference or mean anything. I thought your name was cute and clicked away!

Right away, I seen you had blogs and thought.. what a great way to see what your personality/energy is like. Which brings me to here. :-)

I have “so” much that I would like to share with you, from my own personal experience on the subject of Enlightenment. However, out of respect for the flow of your blog.. I realize that this is not the forum.

I reread my posts this morning and thought to myself, “You are a maniac Tracy.” :-) I had many typos! Sadly the biggest typo was the name I submitted. How are my going to act :-/.

Out of respect for him, I will spell it again… Hermann Muller. He puts two dots above his “u”, but I have no idea how to do that! :-)

Thanks again for your time, this blog, and all that you do in the spirit of love, and trying to help others. To me it is all about “intention” and “motives”.. and if those come from a place of love/kindness with an open heart, then that is “all” that really matters.
    With much respect and gratitude,

As for the two-dot problem, that’s called an “umlaut” in German and it’s not on my keyboard either. Sometimes people compensate by adding an “e” as in “Mueller” and sometimes they try to fudge their way through it, as in “Muller,” but no worries either way.

One of the exercises following the chapter entitled “Your Creative DNA” is “Pick a New Name.”

I’ll share a bit more when I have more time, but one part I really like is this passage:

“The essayist Joseph Epstein has noted, ‘A radical change in one’s name seems in most cases a betrayal – of one’s birthright, of one’s group, of one’s identity.’ I don’t agree. In a sense it’s a commitment to a higher personal calling. And it’s not uncommon among creative souls.”

Then, unfortunately, she sent a link to a Facebook picture. Sorry, Tracy, but I have a policy about submissions for the free service I provide at this part of the blog.

For any candidate, you would need to send me a one-click link. I will not need to stop and enter a social networking or other website, dig up or create a password, etc.

Often you can get around this kind of limitation by going to the photo you have found. Then right click on it to bring up PROPERTIES. Copy that, because it can serve as a link. Test it. Then if it works, submit that in your request.

    386

And about that face reading question in Comment 355, TRACY:

“I thought the most pronounced “out of balance” feature was…”

Some of you Blog-Buddies may be face readers, others new to the art of physiognomy. This blog does not include a service where I do free face readings of people of interest — although I occasionally offer contests where you’all can suggest a candidate for an article with a face reading profile.

Anyway, there is an important teaching point in TRACY’s question.

All face reading is not alike. The idea that something is “out of balance” on a physical face… is quite common for most systems of physiognomy. But not mine!

Face Reading Secrets(R) has a trademark because it is extremely different from other face reading systems. It is a compassionate system, based on the premise that “God don’t make no junk.”

As part of this, you would never hear this face reader call any part of somebody’s face “out of balance” or “the worst part” etc.

Ideas like that are so repugnant to my world view, personal taste, spiritual beliefs, etc.! So I would urge you, TRACY, to get a copy of any of my three face reading books and seek out a different perspective. Not bringing superiority to others but opening up the heart of compassion.

In Commenht 362, JEANINE asked about Keith Sherwood.

After researching his aura, do I think he is Enlightened?

Close, Jeanine. He’s still got quite a bit of STUFF, though. So I don’t consider him ready yet for the Enlightenment Life List.

Thanks also to GLADYS for her asking about him.

    April 19th, 2011 at 12:55 pm
    388

Finally, TRUTH SEEKER, in response to your comment 288 and follow ups, since Ken Wilbur slipped through the cracks…

It’s not surprising to me to learn that he teaches about Enlightenment. The man has a lot of consciousness. However, that doesn’t mean his aura is yet what I would call “Enlightened.”

In the following comment I will attempt to make the distinction clearer.

    April 19th, 2011 at 12:59 pm
    389

What is the difference between knowing about Enlightenment, being well on the way to Enlightenment, and actually being spiritually Enlightened?

Everybody on earth has the potential to slip into an experience of transcendence, or big spiritual consciousness, a sense of Oneness, etc.

Sometimes this is called “A peak experrience.”

    Wonderful! Life changing!

But for someone to be spiritually Enlightened, more is needed than to have such experiences. Or even to have a method for having such experiences on a regular basis. Or to be able to teach about such experiences.

Enlightenment is a state of consciousness, supported by physiology, and showing clearly in a person’s auric modeling — those hundreds upon hundreds of chakra databanks you can read about in many parts of this blog.

When I research a candidate for the Enlightenment Life List, I research a representative sample of the person’s chakra databank and stop when I find ones that aren’t doing well.

Sometimes, quite quickly on, I find major deposits of STUFF like anger, sexual shame, outsourcing to the intellect, etc.

Anything like that disqualifies a person from being on the Enlightenment Life List quite yet.

Another common problem with candidates for this list is that spiritual connection is lovely… but human life has been ignored, so hundreds of chakra databanks related to being a reasonably balanced human being aren’t working at all.

While the teacher or writer is serving humanity, doing beautiful sacred work, this may not be obvious… unless you also are able to read that person’s aura.

Which, of course, I aim to help you’all to do. Right via this blog! Through my books! Through workshops! Through personal mentoring!

It’s only a form of literacy, but like Gutenberg literacy, developing it takes some time and practice. Even living in the age of Twitter, with colosssal impatience and multi-tasking as ways of life for many, that doesn’t alter the fact.

For real energetic literacy, it takes most mortals some time to develop.

Similarly, great though a teacher or healer might be, that doesn’t mean the person is spiritually Enlightened.

You can’t fast track your way to Enlightenment by understanding a few key ideas and then annointing yourself. Sorry!

    April 19th, 2011 at 1:07 pm
    390

RENEE, in Comment 365 you asked about Geoff Boltwood, a psychic healer from the UK.

Nope. Geoff is very deeply connected to the astral and has a rich knowledge of psychic phenomena, but psychic planes are different from spiritual planes. Even clear knowledge about woo-woo (related to either one of these planes) does not mean a person is spiritually Enlightened.

    April 19th, 2011 at 1:10 pm
    391

RENEE, in Comment 367 you also asked about ADI Dam.

May I be blunt? Considering that his website proclaims that he considers himself not only Enlightened but an Avatar….

He isn’t an Avatar. And he isn’t Enlightened, not according to my criteria anyway.

    April 19th, 2011 at 1:12 pm

ANONYMOUS, you asked about Winfried Noé,a noted European astrologer. Finally, here is a response to your Comment 369:

Yes! Facially he is highly unusual and energetically as well, so I had to really adjust my perception a bit to read his aura. I am delighted to add him to the Enlightenment Life List. He’s #100!
