Bono, Face Reading a Fame Contest Winner
January 11th, 2013 by Rose RosetreeFascinating to face readers, Bono, at his height of fame
Does big fame change people? How?
In search of the always-different answer, we held a contest last year, our Fame Change Contest for Face Reading or Aura Reading, Your Choice. Today, it’s time to celebrate RACHEL’s winning nomination in Comment 9. Why did she nominate him?
I’d like to nominate Bono from U2. I want to nominate him because I was a huge, huge fan of U2 in their early days and listened to their music constantly. After “Rattle and Hum,” I lost interest because their music seemed to become too slick and well produced for my tastes. I much preferred the intensity and passion of their earlier music.
Bono is of course famous not just for being a singer, but for being a political activist and campaigner, particularly on behalf of Africa. I would suggest that fame has changed him in two ways: He has lost that early raw passion, but maybe re-directed something of that energy into campaigning.
I’m sure most people would say that he has used his fame and his position of being in the spotlight for the better, not just to gain more acclaim and riches for himself, but to help others.
However, I personally much prefer the young Bono.
Thoughtfully, RACHEL supplemented her entry and requested photo links with a fascinating YouTube video showing Bono’s face changes from 1983-2010!
COMMENT below, Blog-Buddies, at everything you notice. Including if you are interested in doing some aura reading or Skilled Empath Merge.
A comparison face reading will be done by me, at least begun, below! You’all might want to contribute, after all. Because many of you regular readers have been face readers for ages; in fact, reading faces could have been your introduction to energetic literacy.
It does intrigue me how, if you look at the comments over at YouTube for the Bono Face Changing Video, Deeper Perception is not where most folks go when comparing photographs over a couple of decades. It’s more about sexy or older or other stereotypes. Oh, it is way more fun to use energetic literacy skills, don’t you think?
Get ready to read how Bono’s face changed
For the Young Bono picture, I’ll use a photo from 1983. Incidentally the top of this post features a picture from 1992, great for showing glitz if not entirely suitable for face reading.

Young Bono, ready for his face reading
To read along with me, you might want to use this larger face reading photo of Bono, opening it into a new window.
Or here is a fine, dependable physiognomy link for Young Bono, which you can copy and expand in another window.
As for the more seasoned Activist Bono, yes there is some change.

Activist Bono, ready for his face reading
This version of Bono was photographed in 2012. Copy this dependable Face Reading Bono link and stretch it out on another document. You’ll find it way easier to read his face.
Or open up this Bigger Face Reading Fiesta link, the original version that I will be using for reading Bono’s face changes.
What else is useful to mention, face readers? Of course, for today’s Feat of Physiognomy I will be using the system of Face Reading Secrets(R).
- And with the brand new book on face reading, you can learn a great deal about how to become a skilled physiognomist from “The New Power of Face Reading.”
- FAQs about face reading are available at my official website.
- You can still enter to receive a free face reading on my radio interview with Rebecca Jernigan one week from today.
Okay, let’s go explore one item of physical face data at a time.
Face Reading Item: Lipfulness
How to see it: Note how full or slim a lip looks while the mouth is in repose. Include both lips in your assessment.
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
The U2 star’s upper lip has small lipfulness but his lower lip is three times as full. Thus, he has what the great British physiognomist Lailan Young has named “Blarney Lips.”
I agree with her that this attribute goes with a gift for persuasiveness. The potential challenge added in my system of Face Reading Secrets is how that persuasiveness will be directed. Towards self-promotion? With altruism? As a temptation to lie?
- Bono, the activist in 2012
Both lips have small lipfulness. And now the lower lip is unusually slim, even though previously it was fuller than Bono’s top lip.
“Normal” doesn’t really apply to faces, not to a face reader.
However, it is worth noting that most commonly a mouth has a somewhat fuller upper lip.
This is a significant shift, as now the gift of the soul in Bono’s communication has shifted to a talent for speaking things that are perceptive (including socially, not just about himself and his personal relationships). Truth matters to him more than convincing people; he hopes the facts will speak for themselves.
Right here, RACHEL, is the single biggest reason why Bono doesn’t appeal to you as he once did. It is very, very common for pop stars, performers of all kinds, to have extreme Blarney Lips. Helps them to win fame! Otherwise, this lip proportion shows in more like 1 out of 50 people.
Face Reading Item: Power Style
How to see it: Notice where the cheeks are widest. How does the rest of the face compare, forehead to jaws?
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
Forehead widest, this constitutes what I call the “Passion Power Style.” Young Elvis had this going for him also!
With this power style, the gift is for leadership and exciting people with one’s intensity. The potential challenge? Burning out other people. (Or, possibly, himself….)
- Bono, the activist in 2012
Even cheek proportions, he now has what I call the “Polite Power Style.” Notice how Bono’s entire face is just about the same width, from forehead to jaws?
Gift with this one is knowing how to work the system, able to get things done. Potential challenge? It’s not getting credit, nor caring to receive credit.
Spiritually that “challenge” is quite lovely. However, if you are looking for the old charisma of rock star days, this could be another significant subliminal let-down.
Face Reading Item: Nose tip proportions
How to see it: Given the width of a person’s nose from the bridge down, how large is the nose tip?
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
Large nose tip is one of the defining VERY characteristics for Bono at this time in his life. Of course, it helps to have a larger photo to see than is provided in this main post. Because nobody’s nose tip is going to look like a big round red clown nose… except for a clown.
The inner significance of this face reading attribute? At this time, Bono cares a great deal about financial security — making money, keeping money, having plenty of money. Potential challenge? Worrying about money.
- Bono, the activist in 2012
The man’s nose tip is small now.
So much for the stereotype that “Everyone’s nose tip grows larger with age.”
This physiognomist has spent decades examining how faces change over time. I’m here to tell you, when it comes to faces, nobody is just “everyone” and nothing happens automatically. Rather, free will shapes the face over time.
That is why comparison face readings, like this one, are my absolute favorite way to use face reading. Famous or not, faces change. All those changes are meaningful indications of a person’s journey of spiritual evolution on earth.
Back at Bono, what’s the significance of his small nose tip? He has a kind of prosperity consciousness, not worrying about money but having other life priorities. Potential challenge? Not paying enough attention to his financial standing, sacrificing income out of idealism.
Face Reading Item: Nose Padding
How to see it: Check out the fleshiness of a nose around the central ridge — that bone down the middle of a nose. How much padding is there, from the nose bridge to right above the nose tip?
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
Very small nose padding makes it easy to see that central ridge. The corresponding gift? He’s independent as a performer, also independent in running his career as a performer.
- Bono, the activist in 2012
Moderate nose padding is even from the bridge to the tip. Incidentally, if you think that “Everyone’s nose gets bigger in every way over time,” that’s another ridiculous notion, easy for folks to say if they don’t pay attention to face reading data in the way that a physiognomist would.
A change like this is actually quite unusual. Just for fun, check out what happened to Elvis Presley regarding nose padding. (Okay, here’s a hint. The opposite.)
As he has evolved, and the face changed out-pictured, Bono has become a man who works with others. From the start of a project all the way through to the end, he can team up and compromise and collaborate.
Potential challenge? Leadership doesn’t show in such a cool, charismatic manner as back in his rock star days.
Face Reading Item: Eyebrow Height
How to see it: Notice the vertical distance between the bottom of Bono’s eyebrows and his eyes.
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
Such VERY extreme lowbrows. See how his eyebrows nearly tumble into Bono’s eyes? The talent is extreme spontaneity, e.g., as a performer.
The potential challenge? Scared to be spontaneous and express himself?
Hmmm, Bono’s lifestyle back in the day does suggest he had overcome that challenge.
- Bono, the activist in 2012
Highbrows. Note the considerable distance between eyes and eyebrows, especially the outer edge of each eyebrow.
Corresponding talent works so well for an activist! Bono now can plan inwardly and develop plans all the way out to many details… long before he feels the need to make what he does public.
Potential challenge? Others might find him hard to read, inscrutable. (Of course, that sort of behavior might help him to negotiate wisely, as well.)
Our final Face Reading Item for today: Chin Bottom Shape
How to see it: Notice the shape right at the lowest edge of Bono’s chin. This is one facial characteristic that didn’t change for him over time but, rather, intensified.
- Bono, the Rock Star in 1983
Straight chin bottom. In Face Reading Secrets(R) this suggests making choices in life based on principle. Potential challenge? Others might not agree. Nor will they necesssarily understand the motivation.
- Bono, the activist in 2012
Even straighter chin bottom. Double the intensity of what I wrote about Bono in 1983.
This unchanging, intensifying item of face reading data explains a lot, doesn’t it? How could this man sacrifice an enviable celebrity? Because he chose what, to him, seems more meaningful. And, with Bono’s personal style, that sure does make sense.
Think of his birth name, Paul David Hewson. Then remember. When this young Irish lad selected a stage name, he chose to name himself “Good.”

Rose, this is fascinating. Thank you so much for doing the reading.
I think I like Bono more than I did before, having read your comments!
RACHEL, you’re so welcome.
It is a delight reading your reaction, because Face Reading Secrets really does have two mottoes:
1. The official motto is “God don’t make no jun.”
2. And what about the motto I don’t always tell? “My purpose with reading faces is to help open up a person’s heart of compassion.” (Same goes for any form of Energetic Literacy that I use and teach.)
