Ouch! Otherwise talented healers can display really shoddy ethics.
Twice in one week, clients of mine had been treated very badly by previous healers. Far from feeling remorseful, those healers probably felt smug about themselves. (If they even thought twice about the rather horrifying ethical implications of what they had done.)
My purpose here is to alert you to a rather serious problem that — apparently — many healers don’t know about yet.
- If you’re a healer and you have been doing the kind of behavior detailed in this post, please cut it out.
- If you are a client whose healer does this sorry thing, please convey a verbal slap, some kind of “What were you thinking?” Follow it up with a discussion. Otherwise supply a link to this post.

Not the crowd at the Rally, but equally crowded
Attending the Rally today was an extraordinary experience, even though I didn’t get in. True, I held a hope in the back of my mind that, as someone previously “interviewed” on “The Colbert Report,” I might inspire Stephen Colbert to swoop over on his Magic Carpet of Truthiness and give me a ride.* Maybe then I’d have been able to sit up really close. Recently I was chatting with one of my friends who is on our Enlightenment Life List. “Gladys” was saying, “At night, I don’t dream. I just go traveling around the universe, helping out as needed. Guess I’m just one of those people who don’t dream.”

“Never trust a healer whose plants are dead.” If you have heard this saying, you have probably noticed that many a healer enjoys growing plants. Well, this Rosetree is one of that green gang. This summer I have attempted more than usual: My first roses and peonies, and the astoundingly ambitious investment in four new lilac bushes.
On my special herb strip in the back yard went some tasty favorites. To use up the valuable growing space, I bought a simple packet of “Assorted Annuals.” They have flourished, sprouted up so well that by the end of May I transplanted many of these exciting starter flowers to a bit of garden in the front of the house. Blog-Buddies, it’s always such a privilege when I facilitate the special kind of Aura Reading Research about names. So many of us are saddled with first and/or last names that wouldn’t work well for a horse and don’t work for us humans, either.
Kathryn formerly had a name that didn’t suit her at all. Just as birdwatchers keep a life list of exotic birds they have spotted, I have begun a list. Mine contains names of people whom I consider spiritually Enlightened. Not just highly evolved or talented or amazing as human beings, but spiritually Enlightened.
Today’s post contains my running list, first published on Sunday, July 18, 2010. I plan to update it over the years. I also hope to be included on that list some day.
But, hey, this is to be a post about celebration, not my personal sobbing.

Do you read a lot? I do. I believe it’s important to read books, buy books, and review books for websites like Amazon.com. Here in Japan, I do that just as I do at home.
One of the books I brought with me is an advance copy of Karma and Reincarnation by Barbara Y. Martin. Her co-author is Dimitri Moraitis. The publisher, Tarcher, sent it for possible review in my column for Pathways Magazine. The book has certainly made me think a great deal, though not entirely as the authors intended. Read More »
