Inspiring Elizabeth Edwards, an Empath Merge

Elizabeth Edwards, who died December 7, did so many things right. For example, she managed the presidential campaign for her husband, John Edwards — at least until he self-destructed as a politician.

Creating his briefing books and directing his campaign, staying dignified post-campain (despite all the scandal related to her husband’s infidelity), Elizabeth Edwards could be surprisingly gutsy for a political wife. I’m especially fond of an incident that linked the Democratic political activist and Republican darling Ann Coulter.

She had attacked John, expressing the wish that ”he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.” When Elizabeth spotted Coulter on the TV show “Hardball,” she called up. On the air, as reported at a Yahoo News Comment by Emery English, this is what Edwards said:

Regular Handshakes

Yesterday, I finished teaching Empath Empowerment Workshop, Part 1, here in Tokyo.

We had a fabulous workshop, with wonderful results for all participants.

While saying our goodbyes, three ladies came over and asked a very interesting question. They were freshly all algow, having just learned the “I Want to Hold Your Hand” technique for Skilled Empath Merge. This is my favorite empath merge technique and so it’s on the cover of Empowered by Empathy, both the hardcover and CD audiobook editions.

It was taught after all participants fully understood how to turn empath gifts OFF. Turning gifts ON with such a technique is a huge treat. Although done safely, the technique that looks like a handshake is anything but. It is to be used sparingly, as part of the lifestyle of a Skilled Empath.

“U” is for Undisguised Admiration

Sue Grafton, creator of the Kinsey Millhone series, just keeps getting better and better. I’ve read them all so far, starting with “A” is for Alibi. Having recently finished “U” is for Undertow, I’m a bigger fan than ever.

More lifelike than life, without being surreal, this extremely intricate story was a compelling read from start to end. What totally enthralled me, as a longtime fan, was that this book contained the author’s true-to-the-bone insights about what it means to write.
