If you are an empath, here are some words of advice for Election Day.
Before you leave home, for mercy’s sake, do NOT just think about where you are going. Important though that is! Yes, voting today is extremely important. But now we’re talking about you, the voter, as an empath.
(Incidentally, the skills in this post would also be helpful to some degree if you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), not an empath. If the reason isn’t clear to you, put a Read More »

Empath myths abound, although I haven’t really numbered them all in a systematic fashion. The empath myth for today comes in chronological order. It came up during a session last night. Here’s how it goes:
Empath Myth #1: If you have an emotional gift as an empath, you’re unusually aware of other people’s feelings.
Not necessarily. Behold my aura reading of “Empath Mary.” Read More »

Empath Merge coming up! Pallin’ around with Palin from the inside. Yoicks!
Empaths, when you have learned to safely turn your gifts OFF, only then is it wise to use the different skill set involved in turning empath gifts ON, so that you can use a technique of empath merge without taking on other people’s STUFF.
And you really, really don’t want to do that with Gov. Palin.
A sense of destiny is the clearest inner experience for Sarah Palin. She has been chosen. See, she has everything: The looks! The support! The scripts! The sense of purpose! That wonderful drive! Read More »

I’m honored to have written the first book to help empaths develop skill. More books for empaths have been published with each passing year, but they still don’t teach this method.
Instead, you’ll find two different approaches.
First, there’s emphasis on shielding and protecting yourself.
If you’ve been looking at books that attempt to solve the problem of picking up pain by shielding yourself, guess what? No aura reader would seriously advocate this as a way to develop skill for an empath.
Why? Shields and walls don’t keep out other people’s pain, so much as they lock the pain inside. The resulting numbness may be confused with “feeling safe,” but that’s hardly the same thing. Read More »

“Empaths of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your pains.”
Okay, that’s a semi-serious parody of “Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains.” If you were born as an empath, you need humor. You need skill, besides. Otherwise, every day of your life, pain is likely.
Why? When you have the circuits of an empath, but are not yet a SKILLED empath, you will take on pain from other people. It will land right into your aura.
Maybe it helps that I’m an aura reader, giving me the ability to observe this directly. But you don’t have to read auras (yet) to know that something unsettling is going on, not if you’re unskilled as an empath.
Even if you don’t know exactly what that something is, you will often feel anxious, troubled, depressed, tired, easily hurt or way too vulnerable… as though your skin doesn’t quite work right.
Actually, it isn’t terribly uncommon for an unskilled empath to feel a whole sequence of moods like this, one after another. Read More »

“How dare you do aura reading on politicians without their permission?”
So began a stinging e-mail received yesterday from a reader. Apart from ”Rhonda’s” rage, it was a good question, not just for those of us who do aura reading but for every skilled empath who does the occasional judicious empath merge.
Quick definitions: Aura reading means delving into the human energy field. The way I do and teach it, you can choose from 50 databanks in every chakra. You can learn about gifts of the soul and also about STUFF (problems like cords of attachment). You can do aura reading on yourself, aura reading on anyone you meet, even aura reading on strangers.
When you have had as much experience as I have (not to worry about talent for aura reading, because you definitely have that already), you Read More »

It’s a happy day indeed when you can do an Aura Reading and Empath-Merge on a Happy Birthday girl like my God-daughter Grace Cipriani. Mere sunglasses cannot deter you, not when you’ve got skills.
Teenagers today may know more about Aura Reading than most of their ancient, fogey-like relatives. It isn’t a matter of “reading the colours,” not today, no more than talking on a phone means that first you must reach for a large, black receiver shaped like a flattened dumbell. For today’s aura Read More »

Wow, Blog-Buddies, today’s the day! Those of you who know me well are aware that for the past month I’ve been working night and day to start making my books available as e-books.
You know, reformatting my books for this new medium in my “spare time.”
Lots of goofs and seemingly wasted hours later, the first e-book edition is posted today, October 9, 2008. An Empath Among the Righteous: A Spiritual Thriller is now available as a Kindle edition through Amazon. Read More »

Recently, I came across two very different empaths.
EMPATH #1, “Fran” had me read her aura, and it was a delight. Besides being well trained as a healer, she clearly had strong skills as an empath.
Her empath circuits were strong and wonderfully unencumbered by other people’s stuff. Moreover, Fran’s aura showed clearly that she had learned how to keep her empath gifts OFF most of the time, turning them on only when desired and doing this in ways that kept her safe.
EMPATH #2, Freya, gives empaths advice at her blog. I applaud her intent to help people get in control of their abilities. “It’s not always an easy process, but it is an achievable one, provided you make the effort.”
Then Freya goes on to advise empaths to project their emotions outward in order to change other people: Read More »

Whether you do Face Reading or Aura Reading on John McCain, his most significant problem shows clearly: Anger. He’s hardly the only one to have this problem.
Let’s devote a two-part post to exploring how anger can be helped by cutting cords of attachment.
Sophisticated readers, get ready for information that didn’t make it into my how-to book, Cut Cords of Attachment but instead is part of what I’ve been reserving for a sequel. Read More »
