CELEBRITY READINGS BY ROSE JAMES VAN PRAAGH AND TED DANSON With the debut of the miniseries about the life and work of James Van Praagh, I thought it would be fun to compare his face to that of Ted Danson, the actor who’s portraying him in Talking to Heaven. Then we’ll pop back to James and open up his aura for a few more insights. Here go five bits of info in each category: James van Praagh - THE FACE OF PSYCHIC ROYALTY See that wonderful, huge line above James’ nose? It reaches clear up to his third eye (the center of his forehead). Even if it weren’t so huge, I’d notice because this happens to be my single favorite bit of face data. In my books, I’ve called it the MARK OF DEVOTION, and does this man ever have it! His extreme version suggests a very strong spiritual vocation. His challenge? Having personal sacrifice be required, sometimes, to live with the degree of dedication that he has signed up for. Van Praagh isn’t a medium when it comes to the size of his eyebrows. They’re both LARGE and VERY ANGLED, signifying a major-league intellect that’s fascinated by complexity plus inner detachment. Part of him, I suspect, is always observing a situation. It’s a managerial mind-set. If he doesn’t like the way a situation progresses, he’ll deal with it, rather than passively awaiting resolution. And, I have no doubt from his face, the action he takes will be forceful. Anyone who thinks of woo-woo people as an impossibly mellow race of up-talkers would do well to study the behavior of Mr. Van Praagh. Cheeks fullest beneath the cheekbones mean the PACIFIST POWER STYLE. James’s power style suggests that he cares more deeply than most people about keeping relationships harmonious. The potential challenge with this trait is being too nice socially—that is, unprotective of one’s personal interests. Yet, given those brows and grounding that shows up in his aura, I think he’s long since learned that life lesson. Maybe James’ LIP COVERING MUSTACHE helps, too. That’s about absence of personal self-disclosure. Drawing clear personal boundaries is important for any professional intuitive. This mustache is one effective way to ensure a private life, in the here and now, where James isn’t serving others on either side of the veil. PRIORITY AREAS are always an interesting way to gauge how personality comes across. There are three areas to compare: hairline to eyebrows, eyebrows to nose tip, and nose tip to chin. On the world-famous medium, all three are equal—a rare gift. It suggests that he can get along with people of any priority disposition, including Mr. Danson. Ted Danson - THE FACE OF A WELL CAST ACTOR At first sight, Ted Danson may not look much like the man he’s playing in the TV miniseries. Yet I’ve found three points of similarity: A LARGE CHUNK OF CHIN shows that both men have uncommon ability to handle adversity and keep coming back. Both Ted and James have a NOSE BONUS, an extra bit of nose length between and below the nostrils. This symbolizes an inner need to be of service to others. The only challenge, suggested by this face data, is staying motivated to work when there appears to be no profound benefit to others. Heaven knows, there’s a crying need to portray more people of Van Praagh’s caliber on TV. No problem with doing this role! EARS CLOSE TO THE HEAD point to social radar—instinctive awareness of good manners. Chatting on either side of the veil, manners are appreciated! One significant difference between James and Ted is that the latter shows a definite preference for one priority area. NOSE TIP TO CHIN is clearly the winner for the former Cheers star. He comes across as earthy, street smart, and salt-of-the-earth pragmatic. The potential challenge with this face data is having a built-in B.S. detector. In some Hollywood situations, it may be tricky for Ted to balance the latter with his aforementioned good manners. ;-) What’s wonderful about having him in this new controversial TV role is that Ted has that down-to-earth quality. Granted, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, beyond photos (any more than I’ve had the chance to meet Van Praagh, outside of his books and, now, this photo). Still, I’m sure enough about the accuracy of my system of Face Reading Secrets to bet that people who really know Ted Danson could tell plenty of funny stories about his personal “No B.S.” instincts. Despite scoffers and cynics, anyone who examines James’ work with an open mind will value that what he does is genuine. Maybe Ted will help cynics turn into skeptics and, ultimately, fans of the show. One final facial point about Ted: at this point in his career, his cheek proportions have changed. They aren’t just in contrast to the under-cheeks widest style of the man he’s portraying (see previous comments about PACIFIST POWER STYLE); Ted’s power style has evolved since his days with Cheers. I remember having read those cheeks over a decade ago, as part of a face reading article I wrote for Redbook Magazine. Ted has gone from the POLITE POWER STYLE, where he was more of a crowd pleaser, to the PASSION POWER STYLE, as signaled by a forehead width that now surpassing his cheek and jaw width. The meaning is that the man’s driven. When he gets behind an idea, obstacles won’t seem as real to him as his goal, and he’ll push that idea harder than most people would be able to stomach (or, I guess I should say, “forehead”). In the case of this mini-series, and the wider cause of helping people learn more about the value of mediumship at its finest, I couldn’t be more delighted with having the leading role filled by a man with Ted’s drive and talent. James van Praagh - AN AURA THAT REACHES TO HEAVEN Those fascinating energy fields that we have reveal so much, even through photos. Here are the five things I find most fascinating about James Van Praagh, at the time of this picture: HIS THIRD EYE This part of the great man’s aura gave me a laugh. It’s so crowded in there! Imagine a packed cocktail party, only nobody’s carrying drinks -- they’re all guides and angels. With so much astral awareness and such a lively crowd, the trick is to stay sane. The rest of James’ aura shows he manages this neat trick. Magnificently. GROUNDING At the root chakra level, James is one of the most grounded individuals I’ve ever encountered. It’s different from the zest for physicality you’d find in a natural athlete, such as those Olympic heroes we’ve been watching lately in Salt Lake City. James has the kind of grounding that has been acquired purposefully, much like the muscles of a champion weight lifter. The guy’s more sane than the people who imagine that he’s weird and they’re the sane ones. James needs every ounce of that grounding, of course. Between the courage it takes to work as a medium, the stamina required to work as hard as he has for as long as he had, and now the pressure of increasing fame: any one of these could throw a lesserly grounded man from his perch. But it would take a lot to fling James Van Praagh from his rock-hard core of stability. Maybe he’ll consider writing a sequel to his other books, not reaching to heaven but reaching down to the center of the earth! SEXUALITY Believe me, I’ve only read his aura, but I’m reasonably sure that this man is off-the-chart sexy. Not movie star charisma, James’ aura shows a hugely forceful presence combined with great self-acceptance. Bad news, though, in case he’s got groupies out there. This is a very stable kind of sexuality. It’s also profoundly connected to spirituality. Warning to those who read his aura at the level of the fine print: you’ll find words like “monogamy” and “honor.” INTELLECT It’s a little easier to articulate the distinctiveness of an intellect, compared to sexuality and groundedness. So I hope you’ll find it easy to relate when I describe a specialty of James’ intellect. It’s the need to find an underlying cause. Just be grateful you weren’t his mother when he was a kid at the “Why is the sky blue?” stage, because his aura suggests that the man still asks more questions than most of us. As a toddler? Impossible! SOUL INTEGRATION One person who definitely doesn’t need to buy my THRILL YOUR SOUL video is James Van Praagh. He clearly knows, and does, what it takes to connect his personality with the essence of who he really, humanly is. Go out there, James, with your work and your life, and do some auric modeling for the rest of us. Nobody else need aspire to the tough (though delightful) kind of work that you do. But each of us would be wise to mimic the self-examination, spiritual reach, and balance evident in the aura of James Van Praagh.
