Deeper Perception Made Practical

Recognizing an empath

rose rosetree, empath, aura reading

When searching for your fellow empaths, how can you recognize them if there is no official standardized test, no way of dressing the part? For clues, you’ll have to look inside.

And what I’m about to share with you here may come as a surprise but it’’s true. Forget about facial expressions of concern or other ways that people act sympathetic. Acting means nothing.

Once I was interviewed by a TV talk show host with a flair for this sort of acting. On screen she comes across as highly sympathetic, even verging on saccharine.

Person to person, I found that her lack of human feeling made her about as huggable as a packet of fake sugar. Immediately after asking me questions, she would withdraw so completely that my empathic self had no way to merge with her.

Golly, was that ever scary.

Watching the broadcast later, I saw how my face froze into a mask of fear. This was no mere stage fright. I’’d already given hundreds of media interviews. This was The Twilight Zone. When my interviewer refused to accept me empathically, I was utterly unprepared.

Most of the techniques of Empath Empowerment® would have made it possible to predict this kind of behavior.

But no technique will work if you don’t remember to use it. Because I forgot to pay attention to the empathic level, my strength became my weakness.

Being an empath doesn’’t necessarily show in a person’’s expression, although often we’’re fooled into thinking it does. Whenever we assume that the presence or absence of empathy will show in external behavior, it’’s a mistake.

If you were to take one of my workshops in person (rather than joining a virtual classroom via this website) you might be shocked to meet your classmates. Who are they to think they are empaths? That woman? That guy? Are they kidding?

Turns out, the usual ways we’ve learned to read people are misleading when you’’re looking for empaths. It has nothing to do with having an expressive face like my aforementioned talk show host.

Expressiveness in itself shows neither the presence nor absence of talent as an empath. All it shows is a person’’s comfort level with the kind of communication where you let feelings show through your face.

Other factors are display rules about how much emotion we’re taught to show (e.g., girls who are taught that it’s okay to act hurt, just not angry) and the everyday slips of face called micro-expressions (short bursts of emotion that flicker by fast and are read mostly unconsciously).

Psychologist Paul Ekman trains people to read them by showing videotapes, then using the pause button to catch moods that otherwise flash by unnoticed.

You can do something similar at home, using your VCR. Reading micro-expressions is fascinating. Still, it won’’t necessarily show you who is an empath. Nor will reading the micros help you to become an empath.

Although anyone can become an expert at reading facial expression, in general, it’s a mistake to imagine that you can tell empaths of any kind by their personalities.

Sure, some remind you of fluffy, soft critters, like kittens. But turtles have bodies that are even softer and more vulnerable.

How can you tell what lies beneath the protective shell. As a skilled empath, you can get skills. I call this special skill set “Empath Empowerment®.

This includes techniques to turn your gift(s) ON.Using a dedicated technique of this kind is called “Doing a Skilled Empath Merge.”

Can non-empaths find out whether or not somebody is an empath? Yes, indeed. Because everyone can access Deeper Perception.

For a non-empath, the deepest perception available consciously is Aura Reading. With skill at Aura Reading, it is definitely possible to access depth information about anyone. That would include whether or not somebody is an empath.

But you’re really fortunate if you were born as an empath. When you do a Skilled Empath Merge, you will directly experience being that person you’’re curious about.

And you will know for sure. Vividly! In depth and detail! As an experience of Otherness!

But do keep in mind that you can’t safely start with Skilled Empath Merge. Other techniques, the ones to learn first, help you to turn your gift(s) OFF.

I am a Universal Empath level 10 and I know immediately if someone is an empath and after a few questions I can tell what level they are

This universal empath stuff sounds wrong to me. I don’t think empaths can fit that neatly into such complex hierarchical categories. It sounds like the kind of stuff created by somebody who is in love with their own ideas.

Carla: I am curious what you mean by “levels?” Care to elaborate?

John Doe #1, I chuckled when I read your comment.

First of all, I always chuckle when I read comments in which people are basically telling the writer of the blog, namely Rose, that she’s basically, what? Full of it? I’m not quite sure how else to take “somebody in love with their own ideas.” Oh, how respectful of someone it sounds as if you’ve never even met!

And secondly, as an empath who’s gone from being woefully unskilled to skilled, all I can say is, hey, try that journey on for yourself and see what you think about what Rose has written! 🙂

I thought the term sounded a little bit Dungeons and Dragons, which is pretty cool (but a game I could never understand).

I am only familiar with Rose Rosetree’s descriptions and explanations of particular empath gifts, which have hugely helped with my self-perception and self-esteem. I have read a couple of other empath books and online material, and some HSP ones; however they kind of left me feeling more confused and useless as an empath.

Carla, could you please share what your empath categorisation means? And I guess there is a sub-scale (the Level 10 thing), what they mean? Did you read Rose Rosetree’s books for empaths; did you relate, was there a correlation between the category you mention and the ones mentioned in Rose’s material?

I am curious because it sort of feels like I have had a bit of a homecoming since finding Rose, so I am being a bit of a homebody at the moment, and haven’t being looking around at any other (scarce) sources for empaths for a while. I have not been feeling like the grass is always greener. 🙂

Om my goddess, where to begin. I love this & am so happy to have found this website courtesy a friend. I never considered myself an “Empath” as such ie in a box. And have been developing my empathic language for a while. Finally accepted that ok I am an empath and since then researching this subject. WOW, amazing. such confirmations. Without having read any books yet, I am blown with the term molecular empath. I studied sciences all my life, physics at uni. My perception has always been global 360 X 360 on a particulate & beyond level to the point of merging with individuals. I use/d longtitude/latitudes to access an anchor point, as I would often in my earlier years get blown away/overwhelm.. Yes, I used to even ask people if I could hold their hand in order to slow down enough to meet them, the quiter parts of them. Over the years I have refined my ability to translate what I perceive so I read them with the ability to offer information that assists them to their next level of growth. I struggled for YEARS with this ability because I saw so much i’d get confused about which level what part was going on. Conversations were hilarious with me feeling silly cos whilst a person would say one thing I would percieve the whole arrray and respond for the part that was out of alignment & they would look at me funny. Now I have developed it enough to blow them away with accuracy I’ve got it down to the language their innerscape speaks 🙂 AND am looking to develop myself so much more now, so that I can be more open. Thank God my guidance kept me going, cos honestly they would have called us insane schizoprehnics other. Empaths have an infinate ability. We just have to ground one to start with. This website is a blessing!!! Heaven on earth, Here & Now!! Much Love Thanks Rose for grounding this website. I know for years there was SOOOO much info beyond my ability to keep up with it let alone write anything comprehensive down. Having said that, we all have our part in this play & really are exactly where we need to be. XXX
