Deeper Perception Made Practical

Could You Be Reading Auras Right Now?

Really, could you be reading auras right now? Without officially learning skills?

Honestly, what’s the big deal with learning skills?

Recently Blog-Buddy MIKE raised an important question about Deeper Perception in his Comment 1073 at our Enlightenment Life List post.

MIKE asked if there could be “an intuitive flash that gives one an answer, but without one then being able to back it up with hard data.”

Of course, the answer is yes. Could happen? Haven’t you had some of those intuitive flashes. Of course it could be. It has happened to everyone here at this blog. So MIKE’s question really brings forth more questions, practical questions:

  • How much can you trust an intuitive flash about someone without consciously having skill as an aura reader?
  • Is it really important to gain enough energy literacy to read chakra databanks?
  • What do intuitive flashes have to do with the wisdom described in “Blink” by Malcolm Gladwell?

Living on earth has probably never been as complicated as it is right now. With so many things to do in life, setting priorities matters. So let’s consider. Can you really get by just fine with a wing and a prayer… and an intuitive flash?

Let’s get practical about deeper perception

Practical, hey! We’ve already got 1,203 posts and 12,650 comments here at “Deeper Perception Made Practical.” It’s great to do practical at the leading edge of perception for those of us into personal growth, spiritual growth.

Once you start tasting the delights of deeper perception, it’s amazing to think you could choose to go even deeper, integrate wider, own more fully as a human being and still have it be practical.

“Practical” perception means what exactly? Here are the big five goals that can help you decide how much skill you need about reading people deeper.

The following goals relate directly to your ongoing job of being a smart New Age Consumer.

Do you agree with my goals for reading people deeper?

Yes, they all matter to me, Blog-Buddies. Enormously. Comment away with whether they also matter to you. Or perhaps something not mentioned here matters more to you, so educate us. To me:

  1. Energy literacy must be Boy-Scout-trustworthy, dependable.
  2. Insight doesn’t just float in the air, all insights equally productive. What you learn with energetic literacy ought to be able to help you become more successful in life.
  3. Cumulative skill develops. Aura reading or skilled empath merge need not be like gambling, where sometimes you get a hit and other times you don’t. With cumulative skill, over time, you become fully (and rightfully) confident at being able to access information that you need.
  4. Avoiding a spiritual addiction — that “Capture the Fort” safety can be built into any quality skill set for reading people deeper. Along with the Deeper Perception, can you develop skills and understandings that help you stay balanced as a person?

Committing to balance in your chakras and chakra databanks, related to overcoming a spiritual addiction, who thinks about that?

Well, smart New Age Consumers might want to think about that. Avoiding or overcoming a spiritual addiction could be the most important choice you will make this day. Or this year.

Do you aim to keep intuitive interests in proportion as part of your personal path to Enlightenment? Sure, you can.

However, this is not standard within New Age culture.  In its own way, spiritual addiction can become as compulsive a need as gambling.

5. Deeper perception must help with all-around personal growth and spiritual development. Help, not hinder.

Really, we don’t have to go for either/or, such as “Maybe I will seem like a spaced-out, ineffective person with financial problems and a limited love life but at least I am growing spiritually.”

Some of you Blog-Buddies may know, I did a book-length research project about this false choice, as related to spiritual addiction.

Magnetize Money with Energetic Literacy” may interest you if you’re curious about practical consequences of pursuing a teaching like The Secret. What is spiritual addiction? How Abraham and Law of Attaction don’t deliver what is claimed, and how you can do better.

Lacking the ability to consciously read auras, or use other perception skills as a New Age Consumer, how can you trust your hunches? Does it help to rely upon external validation, like how often you look at a clock and it reads 11:11?

Or would you prefer to use internal validation, spiritual self-authority, and skills that honor you personally as a human being? Choose your criteria, Blog-Buddies. Many teachers can give you that, but don’t assume they will. Find out before you entrust your mind, you heart, your hopes, your auric field.

Skills for perception can keep your energy field clean

As a smart New Age Consumer, you can choose to include practical discernment along with your desire for Deeper Perception.

You might consider the techniques of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses(R), Empath Empowerment(R), Face Reading Secrets(R). None of these is a form of psychic development. Instead, these are techniques to accelerate personal growth for humans. They help with every one of the five points noted here.

Whether you’re interested in my systems or not, be aware when you choose a teacher. Deeper perception can even aid spiritual growth when the technique being used involves co-creating with God.

Another tip for you as a New Age Consumer seeking more skill for reading people. Check out if techiques being offered are energetically clean. This can’t be said for gambling with intuitive hits. This won’t necessarily be included when asking spirit guides to give you messages.

Yes indeed, there might be a good gut feeling with seeking coincidences to validate your experiences. But does that also come with “energetically clean”?

Having a good feeling, with Stage One Energy Literacy, is lovely. Yet this can compromise your true self-authority and slow down personal growth.

Be smart New Age Consumers, Blog-Buddies. There are so many talented healers, mediums, channelers, psychics, practitioners in many modalities. Every profession includes practitioners who work clean. Practical point: Your aura will not accumulate STUFF because that practitioner’s integrity has been compromised.

Hmmm, what might help you to sort this out? Use solid skills of energy literacy to help you choose wisely

The “Blink” Perspective

Malcolm Gladwell’s magnificent book “Blink” documents the power of first impressions, gut reactions, and intuitive hunches. It’s an impressive work.

Must have been comforting to Malcolm to write this, given how very analytical he is most of the time. Sure, everyone has a right side of the brain. This helps a person do “Knowing without knowing.” Rapid cognition.

“Blink”-type information, that rapid cognition, comes from what I call — what else? — Stage One Energy Literacy. Little bits and bytes of information, coming from Deeper Perception. Little aha!s. Hooray!

Stage One Energy Literacy can definitely be useful, as documented by the talented Malcolm Gladwell. Only it can also be terribly misleading.

You can be sure, for his nonfiction bestseller, Malcolm Gladwell chose the right studies to cite. He chose positive incidents that could be researched, and had been.

Unfortunately, first impressions can just as likely be tragically wrong.

According to the National College Women Sexual Victimization study, about 90 percent of college women who are victims of rape or attempted rape know their assailant.

And how many women would that be, just a few gals who weren’t terribly intuitive? From the link just provided above:

An estimated 20 percent to 25 percent of college women are victims of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault during their college years, according to a National College Women Sexual Victimization study, which was supported by the National Institute of Justice and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Related research shows that about 25 percent of women are sexually assaulted during their lifetimes…. Less is known about the sexual assault of men, but research suggests that as many as 10 percent to 20 percent of men are sexually assaulted at some point in their lifetimes.

  • Ask one of the former clients of Bernie Madoff, the superb Ponzi schemer. They had such a good feeling about him. Until later….

According to the New York Times: Approximately $17.3 billion was actually invested by customers.

What else about official aura reading skills for healing?

Stage Two Energy Literacy is not the full fluent, easy, aura reading skill level. However, Stage Two Energy Literacy comes after the simple hunches of Stage One in the development of energetic discernment.

Stage Two Energy Literacy is often used by healers who develop specific skills for healing. As a little part of the training, there is a bit of help for doing better than Stage One Energy Literacy, so there is more skill but not the full energetic literacy that any healer could develop.

Let’s consider what this “Stuck at Stage Two Energy Literacy” problem means to you as a New Age Consumer. There you are, seeking healing, and you are considering various healers available.

The energy healer or bodyworker starts to incorporate some Stage Two Energy Literacy, reading chakras as a whole.

With Stage Two Energy Literacy, that healer has generalized perceptions about chakras: Entire energy centers corresponding to different parts of the body are balanced or not, open or closed. Neat and simple.

This generalized bit of aura reading can be all that is needed for Energy Medicine or any other energy healing technique that addresses the human energy field in a physical way.

Stage Three Energy Literacy isn’t required for Reiki or Healing Touch or Eden Energy Medicine or Pranic Healing. Certainly the ability to read auras in detail is not part of Emotional Freedom Technique or many other skills offered in the field of Energy Psychology.

Any of which, done by a skilled professional or a hard working self-healer, can make the body run like a well oiled machine.

Sure, somone with just Stage Two Energetic Literacy can research how a chakra is doing on the whole — a topic I will be addressing in the next blog post planned here, about balancing chakras. If things seem reasonably balanced, the healer/client for Energy Medicine or Reiki will be satisfied.

Until it is time to do the healing again.

Note that temporary problem with much energy clearing. It makes a fine path, can even become the occupation of a lifetime.

However, New Age Consumers, beware attempts to cut cords of attachment this way, or move out frozen blocks from past lives, or facilitate permanent healing of STUFF at the astral level and subconscious mind.

With all respect, attempts to do healing like this don’t work with Energy Medicine.

Nor does this necessarily happen with Energy Psychology techniques like EFT and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Workarounds can be taught to the mind-body-spirit system, but STUFF remains. (Which may help explain why, so far, our Enlightenment Life List has no nominees who have attained Enlightenment through using techniques of Energy Psychology.)

Permanent healing of STUFF is the specialty of Energy Spirituality, healing energy related to emotional and spiritual growth. This is the energy modality that emphasizes the spirit part of mind-body-spirit. Stage Three Energy Literacy is required for any professional in the emerging field of Energy Spirituality.

As a New Age Consumer, which skills will you choose for which purposes, mechanically clearning an aura or fixing the system or healing the spirit?

Could be like the difference between sending your pet cat to the vet versus consulting an animal communicator….

So, responding to MIKE’s question, if you want self-healing emotionally and spiritually, if you want guidance about choices on your personal path to Enlightenment, you might make it your business to develop Stage Three Energy Literacy. For healing, you might choose to receive support from Energy Spirituality, rather than other mind-body-spirit modalities.

As for developing your own skills of energy literacy, one more thing….

Being unskilled does not make a person superior

In what areas of life does one tend to believe this?

“I’m a natural born brain surgeon” perhaps?

Oddly, when it comes to aura reading, clairvoyance, psychic abilities, a great deal of confusion awaits the New Age Consumer. We’re often told the practitioner has been reading auras since childhood, and this is supposed to mean “The real deal, the big talent.”

Really?

Somehow Rose Rosetree learned Gutenberg literacy by age three. One of the easiest things I’ve ever done.

Did that help me get a perfect score in my verbal SAT? No, LOL. There was no perfect score by me in any college entrance exam.

Just because I learned to read without a teacher, and started reading young, so what? That’s called being precocious and not needing a teacher. Period.

There is no shame in needing a teacher. Helping people is why we teachers and writers are here. For energy literacy, choose a teacher who respects you and your self-authority. Watch your skills grow and, with it, so much more confidence in your choices.

In my opinion, every New Age Consumer could benefit from Stage Three Energy Literacy.

Whether you choose to learn is up to you and your priorities in life. Just be clear: Of course you can learn this skill set.

If you can read well enough to read “Blink” by Malcolm Gladwell, you own Gutenberg literacy. Remember, you can learn the other kind of literacy too.

MIKE, how sweet that you are the first to have commented here.

Having worked in the field of personal growth since 1970, I have a bit of experience at telling when someone isn’t just asking a question but really, right now, truly needs an answer. That’s how your question struck me.

So that is what inspired the four hours wrapped up in today’s blog post.

All healing techniques have limitations – something you have pointed out here very well.

What are the limitations of YOUR techniques?

How do you know this? As far as I know, you only read people’s auras for certain criteria that you consider Enlightenment – you don’t determine HOW they became that way. I highly doubt that Hugh Jackman, for example, has given any interviews on this subject.

Okay, so who are/were YOUR teachers and how exactly did you acquire all these skills? You talk about how important being skilled is, but I don’t see where your skills come from, other than having done this for so long.

Mike, I am somebody who is very intuitive and I often do just know things. Because so often I am right about things in a flash, I’ve always thought that I had instinctively good judgment about other people.

But one of the things I have learned through having Rose research potential/current housemates, travel partners, professionals, professors etc. for me is that I can be so fooled. I mean, really fooled!

I have come to realize that often I mistake physical attractiveness, charm, and good manners for a good person.

Oddly, as soon as Rose does a reading of that person, I realize that on some level I already knew that what she is saying is true. But I did not know it consciously.

That person may be projecting a facade of sweetness. I fall for it, I think that person is sweet, and then I wonder why I am always uncomfortable in his/her presence.

The discomfort is my internal recognition of the incongruence between how that person presents him/herself and his/her auric modeling.

One of these days soon I will learn techniques for stage 3 energetic literacy. It is becoming obvious to me what a survival skill it is.

Wow, BlogBuddyX, your first comment here at the blog. Make that three! Assuming that you haven’t commented under a different name.

Regarding your Comment 6, in my books I explain and acknowledge about skills. You’re welcome to find one that interests you and read about it there.

  10. 10

Regarding Comment 5, Hugh Jackman is not a professional at Energy Psychology. Last I heard, he was a bit busy with other things.

People from many professional backgrounds have been nominated for the Enlightenment Life List. So far, to my knowledge, we haven’t had any pros at Energy Psychology.

Submit one if you have a candidate, following the procedure here — an offer to all of you Blog-Buddies.

  11. 11

Regarding Comment 4, this being my personal blog, I am under no obligation to join your in your spirit of criticism.

Beyond that, BLOG-BUDDY X, I will point out a personal limitation as a teacher and healer. I will not spend a lot of time on people who act rude and disrespectful.

I do wonder if we went over to Hay House or another popular New Age type web presence, if those authors would be asked what their credentials are for writing their books and can they substantiate the claims they make in their books.

Sorry to sound snarky, but I just am out of patience with people who come to this blog and it just feels like there is attitude galore. Please, read somewhere else or do your research.

Rose, I am as always, amazed you let some of these comments through, but I guess it’s all a learning experience.

Feel free NOT to post this comment. 🙂

    Suzanne

I have had “so” many scenarios throughout my lifetime, when I have gone with my intuition or on appearances and have then had a little trip up the garden path. However these apparent dead ends were ultimately telling me something. That is, to take more responsibility for my decisions, refine my discrimination and be less willing to give my power away to another individual. And then, having apparently messed up yet again to not indulge in guilt and victimhood.

To quote Eckhart Tolle :”Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at this moment.”

Also as Rose recently reminded us, we also have to contend with “Maya”, where we are made lovely promises that then do not pan out. I am actually wondering whether some of my “intuitions” in the past were actually influenced by maya. So I can see Rose’s point, that we need to check things out from different angles.

    Suzanne says:

    Hi Mike,

Just to be clear, I’m not knocking intuition. Often it is right. But, yes, sometimes it leads you up the garden path.

And as you say, you learn a lot from that too.

I like Mr. Tolle too. But personally I would rather avoid dead ends when they can be easily avoided, with a few minutes of aura research 🙂

    Suzanne says:

    Rose,

I have a couple of questions about aura research on places.

If I am researching places I might want to live
how time dependent is aura reading research?

For example, let’s say I research living in my present city Boston–to find out how living here affects my chakra databanks for soul thrill, physical health, making money, romance, etc. But I research it in February, when it’s cold and miserable outside and life here isn’t a lot of fun.

Might I get different results than if I research in May, when it’s sunny and I’m loving life in the city?

Secondly, when I research a city, does it matter if I have been there before or not? Will the results be less accurate if I’ve never been
    there?

    Thanks,

    Suzanne

When you move out frozen blocks of energy using regression do you use your stage three energetic literacy? You mentioned that as if you do… If so can you explain how you do in what context. Thanks!

  20. 20

HUMAN, if you are my client for a session of Soul Energy Awakening Past-Life Regression, you will be thoroughly prepared for the session with me.

This is why the first session is three hours, rather than two.

  21. 21

SUZANNE, thanks for adding these practical questions about Soul Thrill Aura Reading Research.

Let’s make clear our Blog-Buddies know that is the context.

Soul Thrill Aura Reading Research is a type of session I facilitate, where the first half sets up a baseline reading of your chakra databanks.

The second half of the session, you name one choice at a time, one research item.

To understand the context more, Blog-Buddies other than SUZANNE, here is a useful link:

Right around here, SUZANNE, I realized it was time to create a blog post to answer your questions about Soul Thrill Aura Research and also JACK’s recent question about chakra balancing. Both of you have inspired me. 🙂

When I meet people I feel their energy, smell it,or see dark spots or bright light around them. Sometimes I physically feel pain if the person is seriously ill or suffers from some sort of mental imbalance. The smell of danger to me is so distinct to me. The smell of slimyness is also very clear. Sometimes I get the pain in my eyes if I look into the person’s eyes if there is something unclean. When a happy child or a pregnant woman comes ner I feel the warmth and see bright light urrounding them. I sometimes even see colors surrounding them against a plain background. I have learned to shield and cleanse myself over the years but wouldn’t mind learning to polish my set of skills to keep me clean and balanced.
