Deeper Perception Made Practical

Empaths, Now Hear This

She’s at the beach, listening to a seashell for wisdom. Where do YOU listen?

Would you like an upgrade, intuitively speaking? Many of us have friends who regale us constantly with tales of their great insights into life. It’s like news crawl on the bottom of a TV screen or tweeting with an angel.

So much information from what these folks pick up: Wonderful coincidences, how guides find them parking spaces. Or make store items fall off shelves to signal which puchases these people are “supposed” to make.

Certain of your friends may get hits all day long: Interesting knowledge about ailments of total strangers; vitally “important” messages that pop in day and night.

Do you have trouble keeping up? What if I could give you a quick tip for out-flashing all of this!

Well, Courageous Explorers, let’s do it.

Insecurity for Empaths

Gladys, a very talented empath, recently confided her guilty secret to me. “I’m in a spiritual development group. Everyone except me gets hits on people. They get information in their bodies, physical knowing about people.

“I don’t get hits. I don’t pick up messages in my body. When I hear them talk, I wonder if I’m an empath at all.”

Let’s sort out this mess, Courageous Explorers. For starters, what is an empath?

An empath has at least one lifelong gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be another person.

If you are among the 1 in 20 people wired as an empath, you have one or more gifts. Not necessarily ALL gifts.

What, that isn’t enough for you? Don’t complain to Rose Rosetree. Yell directly at God. While you’re at it, maybe you can complain about having only one head, one pair of feet.

It’s so tempting for us humans, comparing ourselves to others. Surely, however, the solution isn’t to push harder and harder to keep up with the Psychic Joneses.

Instead, each of us, empath or not, can relax more into our lives and try that really powerful evolutionary technique called “Self-Acceptance.” Another name for this teeny technique? “Gratitude.”

Does Empath Skill Mean Getting Hits Constantly?

Here’s another bit of good news for Gladys — or any of you Blog-Buddies who have been worrying that you’re not flashy enough as an empath.

Empath skill is the opposite of getting hits constantly.

Every born empath has an extra-wide range of perceptual talent. Maybe you have intellectual empath ability or you’re an animal empath; perhaps you have an emotional or spiritual or physical gift as an empath.

Bottom line: You can become a smart Post-New-Age Consumer. Don’t worry about “Everyone else is doing it, chatting up their guides all day long or equating being an empath with being a psychic.”

How Ironic Is This, Fellow Empaths?

When unskilled as an empath, there will be loads of unskilled empath merges daily. Each of these split-second, subconscious shifts in consciousness can bring hits of knowledge.

Sadly, the unskilled empath pays a price for every one of those interesting hits. Every unskilled empath merge results in picking up STUFF, which then lodges within the empath’s auric field, causing distress of one sort or another.

Often the form of distress feels very familiar, as it fits with old patterns around lacking self-confidence, weight problems, craving to smoke cigarettes, or whatever might be one’s most common patterns of distress.

Subconscious STUFF accumulation, isn’t that a pretty high price to pay for a few flashy hits?

A reading is not a healing, particularly an unsolicited reading for a total stranger. All the empath receives with such hits is interesting information, maybe some fun stories to share at the spiritual development group. Wouldn’t it be better to just surf the net?

Here’s a Better Alternative

Of course, what’s really better is to become a skilled empath. Then you can use your gift(s) for the wonderful benefits that make being an empath so worthwhile.

In the system I teach to help empaths, Empath Empowerment®, we discover how to position consciousness appropriately to turn all empath gifts OFF. This can become an effortless habit during waking hours. We’re protected and strengthened this way.

At certain times, when desired, a skilled empath can purposely use a technique for Skilled Empath Merge. This takes maybe a minute, can be done in person or with a photo:

  • Skilled Empath Merge supplies depth information, not random little hits that can be the astral equivalent of playing “Trivial Pursuit.”
  • Skilled Empath Merge can be the basis of deep knowledge about the other person.
  • Skilled Empath Merge can supplement all the skill sets you have developed for helping other people effectively.
  • Skilled Empath Merge never causes STUFF to become stuck inside your aura and chakra databanks.
  • Every Skilled Empath Merge increases your wisdom.

Could you learn to do this? Sure, it’s a skill.

Doing Skilled Empath Merge is an advanced set of skills, such big fun, and totally appropriate to learn when you are skilled as an empath.

Book Four in my series for empaths can teach you LOADS of techniques for Skilled Empath Merge that are practical, fun, and safe. That’s “The Master Empath: Turning on Your Empath Gifts at Will — in Love, Business and Friendship (Includes Training in Skilled Empath Merge).”

Yes, with skills, you can do sooooo much better than random psychic-level experiences. Empaths, you owe it to yourself. Learn to distinguish between self-knowledge and service to others, based on responsible skills, versus the myriad of ways that folks today show off about psychic abilities.

Note: Today’s blog post comes from my newsletter “Reading Life Deeper,” in February 2013.

This is done as part of my sharing archived newsletter articles with you that are at least a year old. It’s Part Two of our Reprinted Newsletter Treat for March 2016.

Next month, back to one per month. 🙂

Getting constant hits? I call that noise. It’s like watching TV to see the Ads.

    Quality is better than quantity.

But I can certainly relate to the example. When I first did a quiz that revealed I was an empath, it was a big surprise.

But when I then read how I was “supposed” to experience this? Meaningless. I didn’t have that type. No “gut feelings”.

I found Rose several years later and solved the dilemma with the Become The Most Important book she mentions.

It brought lots of other surprises too, like the influence being unskilled has had on my entire life. It explained a lot that I’d developed workarounds for instead of understanding.

I’m very thankful Rose was my first introduction to learning about empaths! From there I was introduced to so many new concepts…lots of firsts for me.

I have to admit, I do like the stories my psychic development friends tell about their experiences, but I long ago got over any internal pressure to be like them in getting psychic info.

(There was never any external pressure, which is why they continue to be my friends.)

    Kira says:

I continue to find it interesting that over the years I have gone to our meetings, I have grown so much in spite of the group being about psychic development.

I came to the conclusion a while ago that my guide team works differently from theirs and that I have something like a “bubble of protection”; after learning about RES, I decided my guides must be from a very similar school of thought.

    Kira says:

I did have some conversations with various guides about some psychic abilities some of my friends have, and each time, whatever guide(s) I was talking to asked me if I really wanted that ability for myself; each time, I really thought about how that ability would affect my everyday life, and I said no.

KIRA, thanks so much for all your recent comments.

I’m especially glad, as blog host, for your insights at this particular post.

Pursuing psychic development, especially in this Age of Awakening, can cause a sweet spiritual seeker to get stuck in spiritual addiction or even extreme spiritual addiction.

Witness so many of the Hay House authors who are, now, in extreme spiritual addiction. For you, Blog-Buddies, this doesn’t have to be.

(For examples, just read comments about people proposed for my Enlightenment Life List.)

RES skills, and energy hygiene, are not for people who aren’t talented at psychic gifts.

We’re just on a different path, one that helps us to gain rapid spiritual growth.

Psychic development brings psychic-level growth, a different thing indeed, as you can verify by using the method of Aura Reading Through All Your Senses®.

This form of energetic literacy that is not psychic development but a way to co-create with the Divine to use your natural gifts for energy sensitivity.

  11. 11

I can think of several who are on my Enlightenment Life List about people from this community who definitely have those gifts and they have chosen to say no.

    Enlightenment first. Capture the fort!

  12. 12

RES skills, and energy hygiene, are not consolation prizes for people who aren’t talented at psychic gifts.

Everyone living now, in the Age of Awakening, has energy sensitivity like crazy. More than ever, it is up to us how we use it.
