Smile Bringers. An EASY Face Reading Contest

Smile Bringers

Smile Bringers. Free face readings will be awarded in our Smile Bringers Contest.

Smile Bringers. Who makes you smile? You’ve got so many possibilities for nominating public figures for our new contest. More than you might think at first!

Funnily enough, you might blank out initially. So let me prod you a bit. Soon you’ll be able to name loads of smile bringers in your life right now. Good people who bring a smile to your face, for one reason or another. Some you might even know from their comments at this blog!

Imagine! Smiles are one thing that your Fitbit cannot measure. Because your smiles come so spontaneously. And often, come to think of it! How can you possibly count them all?

Fortunately, I’m asking you to do something far easier than counting them: Nominating just one at a time.

Smile Bringers. Choose One at a Time to Enter this Contest.

Choosing one out of so many! Your heart will help you think of some of your favorite smile bringers.

They might be:

  • Instructors with the Great Courses. Adult ed teachers whose CDs and DVDs are probably available at your public library. (Already I’ve done a Skilled Empath Merge on my teacher crush, Linguistics Professor John McWhorter.)
  • Radio broadcasters. Granted, you may not be familiar with their faces. But you still can follow the instructions below for entering the contest. Thanks to your friend, Ms. Internet, you’re so socially connected! A suitable photo is just a click or two away.
  • Celebrities you see on TV talk shows. Or may even see in their actual plays or movies or TV shows.
  • Musicians, whether they’ve won a Grammy or not.

Just about any category of public figure would be fabulously fun. Only please avoid nominating politicians. In America and the U.K. political feelings are so tender right now. Maybe elsewhere, too.

I get that. One reason for creating our shiny, smile-bringing new contest!

Smile Bringers All Have Faces. Have You Noticed?

That makes them eligible to receive a face reading. But what is face reading, exactly? Some obvious version of expression reading, like you’ve done for your entire life?

Horrors, no!

Face reading means discerning truth about people through thoughtful interpretation of facial characteristics. It’s a 5,000-year-old art. Personally, I specialize in using the system of Face Reading Secrets®.

Here’s an introductory face reading video I’ve made about it. (Consider that I made it just for you. 🙂 )

How can you learn this way to help you understand people better, communicate better?

Finally, this description of RES Face Reading Sessions can preview for you… Preview how many different ways a personal face reading session can bring a smile to your face. And help with self-esteem, career success, and more.

Smile Bringers Contest — How You Can Enter

In case having to choose just one person makes you frown… Fear not. Enter freely. Just use a separate comment box for each contest nominee.

Include all the following, one comment chunk at a time, when entering:

  1. Choose a public figure who brings a smile to your face.
  2. Supply the name of your nominee. Wow, you guessed that already? 😉
  3. Guess what? I won’t be asking you to supply a photo. I’ll do that part for the winning entries. Because I want your imaginations to take flight.

  4. Please do summarize what that public figure does. Besides making you smile.
  5. Optional: Choose one or more “items of face data” you’re curious about. What, you don’t know what to look for on faces? Maybe it’s time you developed the fine wintertime holiday called face reading. Physiognomy!
  6. Enter as often as you like, but definitely within this next month.

Contest closes on March 11, 2019. Afterward I’ll award three prizes. Here’s to the power of face reading… to make our lives better.

    Brittany says:

I’d like to nominate scientist Michelle Thaller. I’m a huge science channel buff.

She is part of the cast for “How the Universe Works” and “The Planets” television shows, amongst others. Her passion and vast knowledge is evident every time she speaks.

  2. 2
    Becky says:

I’d like to nominate Betty White, the actress.

She just seems to have such a childlike joy about her. Always makes me smile.

  3. 3
    Lindsey says:

Great contest Rose! I would like to nominate one of my favorite people who is both inspiring in her books, online workshops, on Skype and in person and makes me smile from ear to ear always- You Rose!

If I am allowed of course.

  4. 4
    Lindsey says:

If not, my second nomination would be actor and comedian Martin Clunes from the award winning and super hilarious British TV series, DOC MARTIN.

I particularly love how his eyes smile even when he is not particularly grinning with his mouth! It’s just an excellent expression of joy for me! Thank you Rose!

Thanks for these first nominations, BRITTANY, BECKY, and LINDSEY.

Of course Comment #3 is a no-can-do, but what a sweet thought. Awe!

    Liane says:

Miranda Esmonde White, creator of Classical Stretch.

Her exersize program airs on PBS, or can be purchased on dvd. She’s a powerhouse of strength, flexibliity, and grace. She’s also corny, lightening the mood with each short episode.

    Liane says:

Another favorite instructor of mine is Kurt Johnsen of Yoga For Life – from back in the day.

He is so sincere in his passion, sometimes his serious one-liners crack me up to the point where I lose the ability to hold a pose. He is a ray of sunshine, especially on yet another long, cold winter day.

    Kylie says:

Señor Jordan makes me smile. He is a Spanish teacher from Missouri who posts many helpful videos for students learning Spanish.

Here is one example where he is talking with glee about how you can use double negatives in Spanish and it’s grammatically correct. http://www.senorjordan.com/02-forming-double-triple-quadruple-negatives-in-spanish/ His videos are always simple and fun.

    Eve says:

I’d like to nominate Carol Burnett. Just seeing her face makes me smile because it reminds me of the many laughs I had as a kid watching The Carol Burnett Show.

I’m especially fascinated by her eyebrows, from a comedic point of view. She could express so much with just raising an eyebrow. Wondering what a face reader would see in them!

    Hannah says:

I’m nominating actress Miranda Hart from the series Call the Midwife; she also happens to be a writer and comedian. I’m always relieved to see her because I know she’ll do something wonderful that will make me smile.

She has such a unique face; it would be hard to pinpoint just one facial feature… I always notice her chin and lips. She seems to convey a variety of nuanced emotions and thoughts by how she positions her mouth and chin during scenes.

    Emily Turner says:

Oh Hannah! Yay! I love Miranda. I would like to second Hannah’s nomination of Miranda Hart. She also had her own show, ‘Miranda’, and her facial expressions were a core part of her humour in the show. She is unapologetically herself and even pokes fun at herself in the show.

She’s also a (hilarious) regular on a lot of quiz shows in the UK.

  12. 12
    Emily Turner says:

I would like to nominate Keegan-Michael Key. He is one half of Key and Peele, a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central. I can’t actually watch it in the UK very easily but I can get it on Youtube!!

He is so versatile and can also sing, which he makes use of in the sketches. He appears so full of energy in every sketch I’ve seen!

  13. 13
    Emily Turner says:

I would ALSO like to nominate Jordan Peele, who, surprise, is the other half of Key and Peele. I check almost everyday if they’ve posted a new Key and Peele clip (they post in drips and drabs… maybe intermittent reinforcement in the name of the game LOL).

Peele has a face and voice that are just seems to magically look so different and expressive for each character (comparing Meegan to Town Hall Audience Member… and his use of his face is amazing).

  14. 14
    Emily Turner says:

Jordan Peele is also a director in his own right who has won an Oscar for ‘best original screenplay’ for his film ‘Get Out’.

  15. 15

Oh such fun! Besides the fact that three of you are going to win the contest prize of a face reading, everyone wins here, surely.

Since we’re all getting great ideas of faces to watch. Laughter is like a vitamin, isn’t it? We’ve got a minimum daily requirement. So big thanks to all who have been bringing our latest contest alive!

    Isabella Cates says:

Ooh, Key & Peele are such good ideas!

I went through a phase of tracking down everything Keegan Michael-Key acted in to watch him. I just watched him in “Friends From College” on Netflix. He’s definitely a “smile bringer” for me.

    Isabella Cates says:

Jordan Peele is also married to a smile bringer, comedian Chelsea Peretti. I saw her live a few years ago and I laughed so hard that it scared me.

I thought I was going to be physically hurt from laughing so hard. It was a good experience though, hahaha.
