Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You? Learn about the standing of any empath teacher by asking one big question before you study with that person.

Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
Most readers never think about asking this question. Keep reading, though, and you’ll hit the jackpot. With research that can bring you valuable discernment.
First, I’ll share ideas to amp up your common sense, when evaluating empath teachers.
Second, there’s going to be a huge Research List of Empath Teachers. You may expect to find an inspiring array of good ones. Yet you might be shocked at how many have significant drawbacks. This article isn’t for gossiping, folks. You deserve discernment!
Don’t Assume Any Teacher Has the Standing to Help You
Discernment is vital if you’re an empath who’s seeking a teacher. Protect yourself by considering that teacher’s standing:
What is this person’s standing to have an opinion on how to help an empath like me? Let alone teach me what will improve my life.
Real standing to write for empaths should include a sense of responsibility, right? Teaching skills that contain BIG truth, not small truth.
1. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
“It Can’t Hurt” to Study with Random Empath Teachers???
What, as a way to pass the time? Regardless of whether you consciously like or dislike an article, something lasting will happen to you. With every single word you read and every video you watch.
Do you know this next fact of spiritual life?
Everything that an empath teacher says will go into your subconscious Storehouse of Energetic Holograms. Go there immediately and last for as long as you’re an (eternal) soul.
Sadly, the internet has no gatekeepers to protect you from this. Protect you from what you WILL — not MAY — carry around.
Carrying it around for the rest of your life. And maybe longer than that. Carrying it around subconsciously, where false ideas will keep on confusing you.
There’s only way to protect yourself from this. Avoid listening to empath teachers unless first you’ve checked out their standing to help you.
Hey, I’ve Just Made a Big Statement
Yet it’s based on knowledge I’ve been gathering for decades. It’s easy to learn about my credentials. Scroll down toward the end of this article. You’ll find a heading about What Is Rose Rosetree’s Standing to Serve as My Empath Coach?
One significant way to protect yourself as an empath is ridiculously simple: Ignore the confusing ideas from dabblers who don’t know what they’re talking about.
By the time you’ve read this article, and the Research List of Empath Teachers that will follow in days to come, wow! You’ll see how much foolishness, today, passes for empath teaching. This consumer-friendly article will give you understandings that you’ve never considered before. Well, make of them what you wish.
Much empath “wisdom” that’s supposed to protect you? Really, it does the exact opposite.

7 Bad Teachings Can Set You Running on a Hamster Wheel
Let me tell you about seven popular teachings for empaths. All of which can, imo. trap you in a cycle of dependency. Take a look at the list that follows and please share with any empath friends who are sure they’re helping themselves. Only maybe they’re not.
#1. I don’t feel great so I’ll study with a Judith Orloff. (Supposedly, this will help.)
“A Judith Orloff”? By which I mean, any teacher who claims to offer “Empath Empowerment.” Yet doesn’t have the legal right to use that trademarked term.
Did you know? Judith led the way and now many have followed. That particular pair of words, Empath Empowerment®, is trademarked by Rose Rosetree. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has recognized the value of this particular system for helping empaths.
It’s a bad idea to trust whoever comes forth to coach you as an empath. Here are six more ways that a cycle of dependency can develop for us empaths. Dependency from trusting teachers who lack the standing to really help us.
#2. I recognize a lot of cliches from pop culture, so this “teaching must be true.” (Supposedly.)
#3. Those teachings come to feel indispensable for my survival. Especially when I read about psychic vampires who prey on empaths, etc. Help! I’ve got to protect myself. (Supposedly.)
#4. The unqualified empath teacher tells me psychological teachings that can’t strengthen born empaths like me. Or else I receive psychic teachings. Sometimes the so-called “expert” gives me both.
Sorry, but teachings like these can’t strengthen an empath. They’re not really designed to help empaths. They’re adapted for the empath market.
#5. Following teachings of dubious value, I keep trying harder. Yet I still don’t feel good. Blaming myself for a flawed kind of empath help.
#6. The answer must be to try even harder. (Supposedly.)
#7. It must be true, what they say about how all empaths suffer. (Supposedly. About that suffering idea? It’s not true at all. I promise you.) For example, read what this Skilled Empath had to say at my blog just yesterday.
3. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
Effective Skills for Empaths Involve CONSCIOUSNESS
Most people don’t know this next part, not yet. Do you?
Consciousness means the built-in awareness you have, quite effortlessly, during your waking hours. Consciousness flows in all humans with normal mental functioning.
However, consciousness works somewhat differently for empaths than for other human adults.
Each empath was born with at least one significant gift for directly experiencing what it is like to be another person. To be considered an empath, the person might have 1 empath gift or more than one. Altogether, I’ve identified 15 different empaths gifts. (In case you’re curious, I’ve just linked you to an article that summarizes them.)
Well, guess what? All empath gifts involve consciousness. Therefore, empath gifts are altogether different from what would be impacted by psychology or psychic development or medicine.
Such a New Idea, Yet It’s True-True-True!
All empath gifts involve consciousness. That is why, empath gifts are altogether different from what would be impacted by psychology or psychic development or medicine.
For that reason, in my opinion, folks in any of the following professions have no relevant skills or experience for helping empaths.
- Psychologists and psychiatrists
- Spiritual guides and philosophers
- Life coaches
- Psychics and intuitives
- Physicians
Don’t these Professionals Already Have Enough Work to Do?
And didn’t they already work plenty hard to obtain their current credentials?
Professionals in these areas have NOT studied what people do in everyday life with their spiritual awareness. (Note, regarding Category 2 above: Psychic awareness is not spiritual.)
- A skilled empath teacher must be an expert at what happens with consciousness. And inwardly have enough clarity, when personally using consciousness, to discern what is happening with a student’s consciousness.
- An indispensable skill for an empath teacher is learning about students by sometimes doing a Skilled Empath Merge.
- What else is indispensable? Precision skills for interpreting what happens to students, sometimes, at the level of chakra databanks. At a minimum, empath teachers must develop at least Stage 3 Energetic Literacy.
In short, teaching empaths is a unique specialty. This is a serious field. I think I’ve earned the right to add this, too:
Teaching empaths should not become a branding exercise for people who aim to expand their client base.
4. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
Enough Already! Let’s Start Researching “Experts”
For years I’ve ignored the onslaught of unqualified “experts” who aim to teach empaths. They know enough to copy some of the terminology I’ve used for decades. By now, these copycats are having an impact on our culture. And not in a good way.
In this article, I aim to bring you much-needed discernment. Questioning clueless claims to help empaths. Calling out terrible advice that’s commonly given to empaths, advice that can’t work — except as providing busywork.
At this point in this article, let’s shift over to the kind of research that I propose to do for you. This will be research of particular teachers who claim to teach “Empath Empowerment” or how to live as an “Empowered Empath.” Terms that I introduced with integrity and standards.
Also I aim to research empath teachers who spread what I consider a gravely false notion: that empaths need protection.
One chunk at a time, my research will appear in comments below. Meaning, only at the version of this article at my personal blog.
If you’re reading this article on another platform, come on over. You’ll find all the research in detail. Also, you can comment about these specifics. Of course, my monitored blog allows you to comment with no strings attached. Make yourself at home.
The version of this article at my personal blog will include updates for our Research List of Empath Teachers. Find that toward the end of this article. As my work schedule permits, I’ll add new research daily until I’ve researched many-many of these “experts.” Akin to a research project I gave myself in 2021. There I researched 199 Republicans in the House of Representatives. Another set of shockers!
5. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
HOW Will I Research These Empath Teachers? Two Ways.
First, that Teacher’s Background
For each empath “expert,” I’ll supply the following background.
#1. The name of the author or blogger or YouTuber. Professional qualifications and selling points for credibility.
#2. Your link to that teacher’s article, video, or book. (The teacher may have published much more, but I’ll stop researching at one. If you like that teacher, you’ll surely be able to find more where that came from.)
#3. A summary of the teacher’s knowledge base to help empaths.
#4. About the teaching being presented, does anything immediately disqualify that teacher from having credibility for helping empaths? (You may agree or disagree, but I’ll
#5. Your link to an image or screenshot that serves as a basis for consciousness research that follows in the second half of our research.
6. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
Second, Our Consciousness Research
Is that Empath Teacher Prepared to REALLY Help Empaths?
If you have any questions why I’ve selected the following, just ask.
#6. Root Chakra Databank for Connection to Objective Reality
#7. Third Eye Chakra Databank for Connection to Psychic Guidance
#8. Third Eye Chakra Databank for Connection to Spiritual Source
#9. Consciousness Lifestyle
#10. In Conclusion
7. Can That Empath Teacher REALLY Help You?
Are You’re a Newbie to Energy Spirituality®?
Then you’ve been reading a lot of new information. Thanks for persevering.
Most specialized services require some essential training. Not so for helping empaths, though.
More regular readers are familiar with our terms of art like “chakra databanks.” You see, I founded this field in 1986. Ever since I’ve been working diligently. And the good news is, if you find this material interesting, this blog can become an amazing resource for you. And free.
With all the specialized language in my empath research, I wish these terms were mainstream in our culture. Not yet, unfortunately.
Maybe you can help spread the word by using language like “Empath Empowerment®” on social media. Using our technical terms precisely. Rather than appropriating them, then devaluing them, as so many empath “experts” have been doing.
My recommendation to you is this:
Learn as much from this article as you can. Have fun!
There will be no quiz for you, no grading.
Finally, What Is Rose Rosetree’s Standing to Serve as an Empath Teacher?
First Part, Skills at Discerning What Happens to Consciousness
This is so necessary for problem solving. Indispensable if you aim to help born empaths to become Skilled Empaths. My related experience includes:
- Serving as America’s most experienced empath coach.
- Helping empaths for years while founding Empath Empowerment® and writing the first book for empaths in English. (Published in 2001.) Yes, I’ve worked with empaths ever since.
- And yes, I’m the first writer to use the term of art, “Empowered Empath.”
- Training Skilled Empaths from many countries; they’re now on six continents.
- Prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic, facilitating quality past-life regressions, learning a great deal about the impact of subconscious ideas. For this, my standing included serving as a Certified Instructor, as well as a professional hypnotist, with the National Guild of Hypnotists.
- Involved in Transcendental Meditation from 1969-1986, “checking” meditation to improve the skills of individual meditators. (I used to hear sounds in the room, informing me how meditators improved during checking. Eventually, I discovered, this was NOT included in the procedure I learned from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Oops, I was doing unskilled empath merges!)
- As a TM teacher, I explored experiences in consciousness for my estimated 600 initiates.
- Also, I spent countless hours in deep meditation, including many advanced courses. Exploring what Maharishi called “the fine fabrics of the field of consciousness.”
Second Part, Teaching How to Become an Empowered Empath
Using Skilled Empath Merges during nearly every personal session for Energy Spirituality clients.
Developing and using trademarked skills for Energy Spirituality ENERGY HEALING.
Finding and removing whatever STUFF in auras is the top priority for removal, bringing the empath more clarity.
During 15 sponsorships for VOICE, Japan’s leading seminar company, I set a record as their most popular energy healer in the company’s 28 years.
Research List of Empath “Experts”
How many empath “experts” researched here are not even empaths?
Of the 38 empath experts I’ve researched for this project,
Only 2 out of 38 are empaths.
#1. Holly Blazina, “How to be an Empowered Empath“.
See Comments #15-23. Not an empath.
#2. Kamila, “17 Lessons on a Journey to Empowered Empath”.
See Comments #42-61. Not an empath.
#3. Brenda Turner, “How to Be an Empowered Empath”.
See Comments #139-156. Not an empath.
#4. Kristen Schwartz, “Realized Empath” website.
See Comments #213-247. Not an empath. Never filed for the trademark she claims, on her website, that belongs to her.
#5. Brenda K. Nemec, “Empath Empowerment Crystals and Techniques”.
That’s an eBook on Kindle See Comments #213-337. Not an empath. But probably an excellent Crystal Healer.
#6. Amanda M. Dodd, “Empowered Empaths“.
See Comments #386-419. Not an empath.
#7. Anna-Thea, “The Empowered Empath,” an article at her website.
See Comments #443-486. Why would a Highly INsensitive Person, living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown, consider herself qualified to teach anything to empaths? Worth pondering.
#8. Judy Dyer is the author of “The Empowered Empath: A Simple Guide on Setting Boundaries, Controlling Your Emotions, and Making Life Easier,” among many self-help books.
Sadly, she no longer has a score on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE, since she is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction. See Comments #498-535.
#9. Rhonda McCrimmon. “Enslaved Empath vs Empowered Empath.”
She is a Celtic seer and witch from Scotland. No empath, she’s a Highly-Highly INsensitive Person. See Comments #538-584.
#10. Michal Spiegelman, “4 Must-Have Daily Routines for the Empowered Empath.”
She is a certified professional life coach, Reiki master, spiritual mentor, medical intuitive, and social worker. No empath, she’s a Highly Literal Person, scoring 2 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. See Comments # 593-635.
#11. Keith Artisan — wow, our first actual male person in this educational exercise about what is going on with empath “experts”.
He calls his blogpost “8 Keys to Living as an Empowered Empath.” See Comments #648-689. He is an empath, but it seems to me that he has moved into a Spiritual Side Trip that has limited his human experience drastically. Also, due to his particular Spiritual Side Trip, Keith barely cares about empaths, or other human beings. Quite the cautionary tale!
#12. Laura Rowe, “Thriving as an Empath: The Empath Defined.”
See Comments #707-742. Another empath, and one who has doggedly pursued some Spiritual Side Trips. Another cautionary tale, sadly.
#13. Ashley Tilson, “EMPATH 101: The Guide to Becoming an Empowered Empath.”
She is not an empath, nor a Highly Sensitive Person. Moreover at the time of writing this article she lives in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. See Comments #743-782.
#14. Amy Baack, “What It Means To Be An Empath”.
She is not an empath, nor a Highly Sensitive Person. Moreover at the time of writing this article she lives in the Orientation Phase of the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction. See Comments #795-853.
#15. Stephanie Jameson, author of “The Happy Empath’s Workbook.”
Amy Baack — not an empath herself, according to my research at #14 — lauded Stephanie as one of her three best teachers about becoming an “empowered empath.” She’s not an empath but a Highly-Highly Literal Person, scoring 1 on the Energy Spirituality Sensitivity Scale. She lives fully in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction. To learn more about Stephanie, see Comments #867-911. Sigh!
#16. Jeanne Mosso. “Empaths: Turning Fear into Empowerment.”
Sigh! She’s not an empath but a 3 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. You’ve heard of the saying, “Throwing pasta against the wall to see if it sticks.”
Jeanne’s instructions for empaths are like, “Throwing popular cliches at the empath to see if they help.” See Comments #938-966.
#17. Kaitlin Kindman. “On The Empath’s Guide: Navigating a World in Crisis as a Highly Sensitive Person”
Besides some disqualifications that seem obvious to me, she not an empath but a 2 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. That is, an Highly Literal Person. Plus, she’s living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown. See Comments #996-1,052 .
#18. Fraya Mortensen. “Empath Journey: Phase 3 | The Inevitable Unemployment.”
This very telegenic empath “expert” is no empath. According to my research, she scores 2 out of a possible 20: She is a Highly Literal Person. Plus, she’s living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. See Comments #1,053-1,090.
#19. Laura Chan. “Are You an Empath? Learn How to Turn Your Sensitivity Into Your Strength”
She has the most impressive background of anybody I’ve met personally, including those who are currently working as empath “experts.” Like me, you may be inspired by meeting Laura. Not that I find her empath work very impressive. But why would it be, given that she’s an HSP and not an empath?
And yes, she’s the first empath “expert” I’ve researched here who is living in the self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle of Human-Based Spirituality. Hooray! See Comments #1,105-1,188.
#20. Eileen Burns. “Unruly Empaths – When Everyone Wants A Piece Of You”
Here’s another very likeable empath “expert” who doesn’t seem to understand much about what empaths are, let alone how to help them. Her “Unruly Empaths” blogpost is exceptionally vague and confused. Also, Eileen isn’t an empath but a Slightly Sensitive Person, scoring 3 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. See Comments #1,190-1235.
#21. Sarah Small. Her website is called The Uncensored Empath.
Sadly, her website is incoherent, and more about selling her services than about delivering anything of value to empaths. Never, once, does she even define what she thinks an empath is.
Personally, Sarah isn’t an empath, either. She scores 2 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. See Comments #1,236-1,264.
#22. Melanie Tonia Evans. “The Empowered Empath: Mastering Boundaries, Emotions & More!”
Melanie Sarah isn’t an empath, any more than Sarah, whom I aura-researched yesterday. Melanie also scores 2 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. See Comments #1,274-1,330.
#23.
Why not? Because she lives in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Shutdown. As for her score on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE, she scores a 1, as a Highly-Highly Literal Person. This topic may not be a good fit for her talents. See Comments #1,348-1,401.
#24. Jennifer O’Neill. Author of the book, “Empowered Empath: Navigating the Seven Stages of An Empath Awakening & Understanding What it Truly Means to Be An Empath”.
Jennifer O’Neill means well, and she has worked hard, but faulty premises lead to unhelpful conclusions. I suggest another line of work since she lives in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction and she scores 3 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. She is a Slightly Sensitive Person. Nowhere close to being an empath. See Comments #1,406 – 1,455.
#25. Christine Bravata. Author of the book, “The Empath’s Guide to Setting Boundaries: Simple Steps to Stop People-Pleasing, Manage Guilt & Take Control of your Life with Confidence”
I suggest another line of work since she lives in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. Also because Christine scores 4 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. Definitely not an empath. See Comments #1,463 – 1,493.
#26. Sanyana Alaina. Author of “Empath and Psychic Abilities: A Transformative Guide with Shamanic Wisdom and Psychological Insight to Unlock Your Secret Gifts: Embrace Your Shadows, Awaken Your Potential, Become an Empowered Empath”
Sanyana Alaina is the first empath “expert” I have actively warned you about. Her link to Shamanic practices is a danger, especially given her free recordings created by her team. She offers a mishmash of Shamanic healing, psychological healing, and popular misconceptions about empaths. Between living in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction, plus scoring a 1 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE, she is a Highly-Highly Literal Person . . . and a very poor choice as an Enlightenment “expert.”
It does not speak well for judges of the Global Book Awards that twice she has won the Gold Medal of the Global Book Awards. Besides lack energetic literacy, they must be looking for what is NEW, as if anything new is exciting and also safe for readers. Maybe not so safe in this case.
See Comments #1,498-1,439.
#27. Nancy McCartney. “The Empath and the Narcissist: Break Free from Toxic Relationships and Reclaim Your Life”
Nancy McCartney’s has a lifelong score on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE of 3 out of a possible 20. She is a Slightly Sensitive Person. Not remotely close to being an empath. In addition, she is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction.
Nancy may not have as much to offer empaths as she thinks she does. Her chakra databanks and consciousness lifestyle deliver the ultimate reality check about the effectiveness of her narcissism-victimization path. Anne’s special path that’s supposed to help empaths. See Comments #1,553-1,665.
#28. Leanne Walters. “Cure Codependency and Conquer as an Empath: The Ultimate Guide to Codependent Survival and Empath Empowerment Through Self Healing and Recovery From Narcissistic Relationships”
Her eBook might not be helpful for too many people, but the attempt is well meant. Leanne is not an empath, although she is a Highly Sensitive Person. She is living in a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle, Human-Based Spirituality. I would not recommend this eBook but, after researching our usual small set of chakra databanks for this empath “expert” project, I do feel affection and respect for her.
See Comments #1,666-1,719.
#29. Sarah K. Grace. “Empath-X: Your Lifeline for Thriving on Earth as a Gifted Soul”
Sarah K. Grace is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction. She scores 3 out of a possible 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. She is nowhere close to being an empath. Her book can be considered a recruiting tool to move others toward her dead-end consciousness lifestyle. See Comments #1,726-1,777.
#30. Suzanne Worthley. “Confident Empath: A Complete Guide to Multidimensional Empathing and Energetic Protection”
She is far gone into Spiritual Addiction, unfortunately. Leading a very innovative and well meant Spiritual Side Trip, at least from my point of view, as an expert at researching consciousness. Suzanne Worthley scores 5 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. She is a Highly Sensitive Person, nowhere close to living as an empath. And she is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction.
As an author and a teacher, I respect Suzanne Worthley’s systematic approach to the version of being an empath that involves being a psychic. I respect that she has written this book as a serious writer — not a bit of a shyster, like Sarah K. Grace- #29 on our research list. See Comments #1,778-1835.
#31. Elaine Clayton. “The Way of the Empath: How Compassion, Empathy, and Intuition Can Heal Your World”
A professional at art, Elaine appears to be a dilettante when offering her book for empaths. For starters, she scores a 1 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE, 1 out of a potential 20 points, where empaths score 20. In short, she’s a Highly-Highly Literal Person. Couldn’t be farther from being an empath.
If you read the bio that Elaine Clayton supplied to Amazon.com, she has had an uncommonly successful career as an artist. As a teacher of empaths, she doesn’t seem to know what she’s talking about. Although her theories surely can appeal to some readers in an “art for art’s sake” kind of way. See Comments #1836 – 1896.
32. Tanya Carroll Richardson. Author of the book “Empath Heart: Relationship Strategies for Sensitive People”.
Good to know: Tanya Carroll Richardson is not an empath. On the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE she scores 2 out of a possible 20. Definitely not an empath. She is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction.
Seems to me, Tanya uses the word “Empath” as a cute substitute for the word “Psychic” or “Intuitive.” This book could really confuse readers about what an empath is. See Comments #1905-1972.
33. Kara Lawrence. Author of the book: “TOXIC MAGNETISM – How and why EMPATHS attract NARCISSISTS: Survival, recovery, and boundaries guide for highly sensitive people healing from … and attached (Empath & Narcissist Recovery).”
She scores a 3 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. For reasons that will become clear if you read my comments here, I would not recommend her writing to anyone. See Comments #1978-2027.
34. Kelly Wallace. Author of the book, “The Empowered Empath: Trusting Your Intuition, Living Your Truth”
Despite a winning personality, which kept her on the radio for 20 years, Kelly Wallace might now look for an occupation that doesn’t involve trying to teach empaths. Especially since she has moved into the consciousness lifestyle of Extreme Spiritual Addiction.
Seems to me, she never had the sensitivity of an empath, and her knowledge base was based on her personal experience (with the faulty premise that she, personally, was an empath). See Comments #2,051-2,101.
35. Susan Reynolds. “The Empowered Empath: A Workbook to Help Highly Sensitive People Set Boundaries, Learn Self-Reliance, and Protect Their Spirit (Guided Workbooks)”
Susan Reynolds is clearly an experienced writer of books on pop psychology. One problem with this kind of expertise is living within one’s own bubble of psychological analysis. Seems to this expert at Empath Empowerment®, Susan demonstrates an utter lack of understanding about what empaths are, or how to help them. Of course, she would do better if she, personally, were an empath rather than a Slightly Sensitive Person. (A 3, not a 20 on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE.)
Also contributing to the overall lack of quality in her book: She is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Psychol0gical Overwork. Perfect for writing a book of Pop Psychology. Only empaths don’t benefit from Pop Psychology. The field of Empath Empowerment® was designed to help us empaths.
See Comments #2,102 -2,158.
36. Wendy De Rosa. Here I researched her YouTube video called, “On Becoming An Empowered Empath.” And I also looked at her book under the same title.
Not unusual: Wendy isn’t teaching anything that pertains to empaths: more like she’s doing copy-and-paste of beliefs that became popular before the Shift into the Age of Awakening, back when Oprah Winfrey’s show was incredibly popular.
Quite unusual: Wendy is the first empath “expert” I’ve encountered who is teaching an Oprah-like version of New Age Spirituality. She’s trying to use this to empower empaths. This can’t work, no more than pop psychology methods. It doesn’t help that Wendy isn’t, herself, an empath. Or that she is living in the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction. See Comments #2,162 – 2,238.
#37. Rev. Bonnie M. Russell, Author of the book, “The Empowered Empath: Become your own Shaman”.
In my opinion, Bonnie has taken a Spiritual Side Trip. Has given it her all, has worked really hard at that. Choosing an unproductive path, with low truth value at this time in history?
That’s doing Shamanic work, not thousands of years ago but . . . NOW.
See Comments #2,273 – 2,216.
38. Pauline Vincent. Book: “Empaths Rule! A Beginner’s Guide for Highly Sensitive People: 30 + Techniques to Master Your Emotions, Set Boundaries and Boost Intuition”.
She’s very young, and seems to be positioning herself as an empath authority for those who are millennials and younger. The “beginners.”
Pauline is also very bright. She has packed her book with concepts and technique goodies. However, this doesn’t disguise how she does not seem to understand how an empath is different from an HSP, or from any person who is “empathic.” Perhaps contributing to this problem is her consciousness lifestyle, Psychological Overwork.
Another contributing factor is her score on the Energy Spirituality SENSITIVITY SCALE. As a 1 – a Highly-Highly Literal Person – she couldn’t be farther away from being a 20 – an empath.

However, what has been one of the most surprising things I’ve learned from this research project? How little people know or understand about what it means to be an empath. For example, none of the “experts” I’ve researched here had a basic understanding.
Unless you count swimming along in the mainstream waters of “Empaths feel everybody’s emotions.”
That falsehood that will never be true!
For expert Rev. Bonnie, her knowledge about being an empath was even more confused than for most. Likely it was distorted by having such fearfulness on an ongoing basis that she couldn’t even leave her house.
As for her knowledge of Shamanism, that might not have been much better.
In the book I critiqued here, Bonnie did the best she could. I give her credit for serving humanity as best she could.
In conclusion, THEODORE, I agree with you completely. Yet, having been a spiritual teacher for more than 50 years, I’m well aware of how sketchy the understanding can be — of students and even of teachers, when the topic at hand involves consciousness.
And when the basic knowledge of a topic like “empath” is lacking, people can come up with the most preposterous ideas. And believe in them, too.
This is one of the reasons why, these days, I invite readers of my blogposts to check on my standing to give them knowledge.
So many authors have such limited understanding. On the bright side, now is an excellent time to develop the habit of ALWAYS checking an author’s standing.
It is often the misfortune of a significant advance in understanding (new theory, new scientific discovery etc) to eventually be *overextended* – used to explain things where it really doesn’t apply.
Empath Empowerment® is a sui generis field of knowledge, which can’t be reconstructed with pop psychology or Age of Faith psychic understandings.
THEODORE, reading these words made my day. And the day had many other good things in it too, but this was The Wow!
Thank you.
You’re welcome Rose!!
