Losing Yourself. Finding Yourself, Too.

Losing Yourself? Australian author Beth Spencer might be able to help. For a hint why, check out her uncommonly on-the-level eye gaze.

Losing Yourself. Today’s post is easy to read. Yet it might prove surprisingly sticky.

For me, what follows here was heart-heating, soul-sticky. And for you? You’ll be the judge.

Definitely, I loved, just loved, the following poem from Beth Spencer’s latest book. “Vagabondage” is a spiritual memoir, highly personal, absolutely eloquent. And Beth had the courage to shape it through a series of interconnected poems.

Introducing RES to Friends. Effective Approaches.

Introducing RES to Friends. Sure, ring some bells to wake people up. Just do it gently.

Introducing RES to Friends. Suppose that you think RES could really help a friend of yours. What’s an effective way to speak up?

Today’s post was prompted by a comment yesterday. Articulate Blog-Buddy HOLLY wrote, here, about finding it difficult. Yes, articulate HOLLY found it hard, introducing RES to friends.

“Sometimes it helps them more if I don’t mention RES.

“When I do say something about RES, they think that is validation for what they heard from “people with gifts” or “people who see ghosts”. Then they go even deeper down that path.”

Also, of course, this is also Memorial Day weekend in America. Do any of you have stories to share of that kind of perseverance?

Seems to me, military courage and academic courage have a lot in common. My main family of three — Mitch, me, and The New Ph.D. — we sure got off easy. Since our son did the cushy, academic kind of service to society.

BIGGER Book Review

BIGGER Book Review by Yvonne Glasgow. Sharing spiritual awakening, one light at a time.

BIGGER Book Review. “BIG” is how you may react to this book review. When you publish a story with a large title, like “Bigger than All the Night Sky”…

Well, your hopes may be big. But how many people will even click on a link for one book among so many? How many will stop to read a memoir that includes a handful of poems? Who will dare — or care — to write a review?

I’ll tell you who.

Overcoming Writer’s Block. Of course, Blog-Buddies, some of you do know what that means, right?

Writer’s block is ugly. Quite commonly, it feels personal. Often in a very lonely way.

  • Have you ever been stuck while writing a paper for school?
  • Even a grad school dissertation?
  • How about feeling “There’s a book inside me”? Yet not being able to pull it out?

Washington Post Published today. Yes, today! My latest Letter to the Editor appeared in print.

And yes, I’m grateful. If only they could interview me on the rest of the info. Because there’s so much more that I could provide on that topic.

At least you Blog-Buddies can learn about it now.
