After the Death of Your Pet Cat or Dog you may need to grieve for a while. I recommend that you grieve for as long as you need to.

In addition, ideas from this article may make the loss of your pet somewhat easier to take. Plus, some spiritual perspectives here may be new to you, and bring you greater clarity as an evolving soul.

Losing your pet is a hard thing, a sad thing. I’m here today to offer some recommendations that may help.

Also, as the Founder of Energy Spirituality, I’ll be able to give you a spiritual perspective. Meaning, a perspective that is spiritual but not religious.

Today, let’s use a Q&A format.

Loving a Pet Helps You Evolve Spiritually

Q. Could it be true that loving my dawg helped me to evolve spiritually? I’d like to believe that.

A. My answer is YES and NO. I’ll explain.💚

The Answer Is YES If…

You love and care for your pet with awareness that your pet is different from you: Otherness. Spiritually, you’ll evolve extra by appreciating the otherness of your pet.

That newness and freshness can help you to think of someone other than yourself. Definitely, helping you to grow emotionally and spiritually. Likewise, you’ll evolve faster through service to your pet, such as feeding that pet properly. Feed your dog appropriate food for a dog, rather than cream puffs and jelly beans.

The Answer Is NO If…

You treat your pet like a cardboard cutout. A cross between yourself and a doll that you can play with. Doing that could be quite beautiful and fulfilling, but spiritually you won’t evolve that way.

For instance, think of Gladys, a woman I knew who “loved” her cat. Gladys used to dress up her cat, putting little bows in her fur.  Whenever possible, Gladys preferred for her cat to ride in a baby carriage. And what did Gladys name her cat? Queenie!

That isn’t loving a pet. It’s opposite to recognizing the otherness of a domesticated animal. Seems to me, it’s one thing if a toddler does this kind of game. For an adult, it’s different. This kind of play does not help the human pet owner to evolve, either emotionally or spiritually.

In reality, no matter how special you are, your pet does not talk to you in any human language. Much as you loved your late pet, you did not telepathically live with Queenie as though she were really your princess.

When people think this fantasy kind of relationship helps them to grow, they’re mistaken. But what if you’re curious or furious? What if you’re positive that your dog or cat can talk to you. You Might Stop Looking at Pictures of Your Dog

Q. I just wish I’d taken more pictures of My Adorable Poodle. Can I do anything like that to help myself grieve? Would it help me to make some sketches? Put together a collage of poodle pictures?

A. Once again,Wisdom Seeker, here come a few complementary answers, depending on what’s appropriate to you.

Pix Can Humor a Person Who Wishes to Wallow

In that context, one could make a case for wallowing, mourning, and grieving.

Wallowing is a human prerogative. Wallowing can comfort the wallower. However, wallowing is not mourning. Nor is it grieving.

1. Wallowing means brooding, feeling sorry for yourself.
2. Mourning is when you take the grief you have on the inside and express it outside yourself.
3. Grieving means feeling sad over a loss. Usually, grieving is encouraged through pop psychology or psychotherapy. (Right now, on my Google, 43.5 MILLION hits for “grieving.”)
4. By contrast, “Energy Spirituality” is a very different way to help a person move past grief. (Right now, on my Google, although this was an exact term search, between quotation marks, guess what? Google showed this trademarked term so little respect, on my first page of results, just 3 exact hits.) So please, every chance you get, use the term Energy Spirituality or Energy Spirituality® on social media.

Might I Suggest,

You Can Do Far Better than Looking Over Your Pet’s Pix

IMO as the Founder of Energy Spirituality, no matters how many visuals you’ve collected, guess what?

Staring at those pictures won’t contribute to your spiritual and emotional growth. Likewise, wallowing or grieving through pictures of your late pet won’t help you to move on, either.

What will?

Create Your Own Ceremony for Saying Goodbye to Your Pet

Of course you can do this. Design your ceremony however you see fit. Make it beautiful, meaningful.

One such ceremony, just one, per pet: This can help you to move on.

To be clear, this kind of ceremony will not help you to evolve spiritually or grow emotionally. Though you may move on faster. In turn, that can free you up to resume evolving and growing.

In General, Pictures Will Not Help You So Much as Listing Specific Memories

As a spiritual teacher, I’ve made some interesting discoveries about the impact of platforms like Pinterest and Snapchat, since they became popular.

Will My Pet and I Be Reunited in Heaven?

Q. As a child, I was promised that my entire family would be reunited in Heaven. After everyone died, our full family would be complete, pets included. Our family would live together for all eternity. Rose, as a spiritual teacher, what do you have to say about that?

A. First, with the great respect due to all you Wisdom Seekers, only read my answer if you can bear a dissenting view–which some faithful believers simply cannot. That said, a resource for you is this article: “Will Your Pet Cat or Dog Go to Heaven?”

Second, I just searched on “-ai after death your pet joins you in heaven” and found many hits, including a few links to YouTube videos. Very likely, I can take screenshots of these believers. If you ask, I can research chakra databanks on some of these strong believers, such as their “Third Eye Chakra Databank for Connection to Spiritual Source” and “Root Chakra Databank for Connection to Objective Reality.”
