Clarke Introduced AI to Pop Culture in a Pretty Scary Way
A movie he wrote… shocked the world with a fictional story that hinged on HAL. This “HAL” was a sentient artificial general intelligence computer. Specifically, this movie character was a Heuristically Programmed Algorithmic Computer. Controlling the systems of the Discovery One spacecraft.
Spoiler: HAL turned out to be pretty scary!
Like some of you other Blog-Buddies, I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey when it came to theaters in 1968. Back in the day, this college kid thought that 2001 sounded like a really cosmic date. And so far into the future!
Why Read Today’s Aura Research?
For consolation, folks. Despite the dangers of AI, many of scientists today are doing what they can to make AI a benign force. Arthur C. Clarke can put a human face onto scientists who persevere to help humanity move toward an AI utopia. Rather than an AI dystopia.
These days I’m pretty creeped out by today’s intrusive Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Aren’t you?
I am no fan of deep fakes and other uses of AI. To put it mildly. Are you?
- Yesterday a savvy friend warned me about saying “Yes” to strangers on the phone. Because AI is making phone scams more sophisticated.— Ouchee!
- This week I received a policy statement from Medium. This is a platform where I often publish duplicate versions of my articles here. Aiming to reach loyal readers at the huge Medium website. As this policy statement informed me, guess what? From now on we authors at Medium have to do our own writing. No AI-generated content. (Hey, far as I’m concerned? No prob!)
- Last night I was watching a NOVA special on artificial intelligence. Personally, I was having mixed reactions. Until a photo of Arthur C. Clarke appeared on my screen.
Wow!
Wow, just a glance told me. “This man’s aura is going to be very special.” And in a human way. Rather than some artificial intelligence way.
However, I didn’t drop everything to read his chakra databanks. Not then and there. Instead, I’m good to go now. During this morning’s Technique Time. (Really, I know the importance of just 20 Daily Minutes of Technique Time, Tops.)
Next, Who Was He? This Sir Arthur C. Clarke
Indeed, that’s Sir Arthur, thank you. Knighted officially! Arthur C. Clarke was an English science fiction writer, as well as a science writer. Also, he gained eminence as a futurist, an inventor, and a TV series host.
In addition, Arthur was an undersea explorer. Although personally I’ve never bumped into him, under the sea.
Many of you Blog-Buddies know of Sir Arthur from one particular movie. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Regarded as one of the most influential films of all time.

Clearly, the man has fame karma. For him, that goes along with having significant talent.
All that fame karma doesn’t interest him much. One example? This doesn’t seem relevant to his sense of belonging to any social group.
Personally, Arthur C. Clarke has his own standards, and they’re high.
- Thus, for him, fitting in is not so much a matter of, “Will they like me?”
- More relevant is, “Will I like them?”
Notwithstanding his public manners, I suspect that generally, Clarke’s answer to that second question would be… No. Not particularly.

In the fine fabrics of this chakra databank, I notice two things:
- Important to note, like a defining characterstic: Arthur despises shoddy thinking, fourth-rate ideas.
- Also he really enjoys clobbering his intellectual adversaries.

When it’s a matter of conflict involving the trivial things of life? Arthur C. Clark despises wasting his time on trivia. Most likely, he’d prefer to delegate doing what’s needed. If necessary, he’ll prefer to let the silly matter drop.
ROSE COMMENTS
Regarding the quality of this chakra databank for Arthur, what I found reminds me of something. For a British teacher at my high school, this was her favorite saying:
One hundred years hence it will all be the same.
Given that Clarke works as a futurist, among other things… Would sayings like that help him to avoid trivial spats?

Heart Chakra Databank for Emotional Steadiness under Pressure

QUALITY
Most important to know about Mr. Clarke in general? Ideas are real to him. Concepts, too. At least as real as his fellow humans.
Although he can muster up emotional involvement over human relationships, hello! Seldom would these begin to compete for importance to him.
ROSE COMMENTS
Thus, I can expect this writer to become seriously perturbed if he feels pressure when writing. Or otherwise involved in an intellectual pursuit. Of course, such pressures are magnified when one has a world class reputation for excellence. Plus, that aforementioned fame karma.
However, regarding emotional steadiness under social pressure? Seems to me, from all the chakra databanks I’ve researched on Clarke so far — not just this one…
- Mere people are often inwardly painted by him looking how? Looking like greyed out shades of annoyance. With more unpleasant relationships being so greyed out as to be extremely easy for him to overlook.
- By contrast, to him inwardly, ideas are garbed in living color.

Throat Chakra Databank for Speaking with Power

Fills the room plus five feet. (Extremely large)
QUALITY
By the time of this photograph, the author has learned how to get out of the way. Guiding the loaded train of chapters to go all the way to its destination.
For him, the process of writing is mostly bliss. And the power comes naturally.

Seems to me, Mr. Clarke’s verbal power and eloquence are God-given gifts. Along the way, he has learned how to serve as their splendid custodian.

QUALITY
Courage Specialty 1. Daring to Dream
This form of courage has been one of Arthur’s outstanding specialties. I know nothing of his background, let alone details of his biography.
Yet the fine fabrics of this chakra databank suggest that he sometimes has paid a high cost socially. Paid that cost in some personal relationships.
Have you noticed, Blog-Buddies? Followers are far more common than leaders. Even among leaders, how many can summon the courage and also the imagination to dream bigger.
- That is, to dream bigger than others of his class, his social position.
- Also to dream bigger than those most likely to appear to be his colleagues.
Somehow, Arthur C. Clarke found a way to do this. Despite his fame, he managed to keep going. Indeed, to me, that counts as a courage specialty for this lifetime.
In today’s blogpost I’m going to discuss one other courage specialty of Arthur C.C.’s as well.
Courage Specialty 2. Breaking Free from the Fear of Being Mocked
Not knowing anything about Clarke’s personal life, I don’t know how this fear was established within him.
- Whether it was kept alive in the form of frozen blocks from other lifetimes?
- Whether family members or schoolfellows or whoever were part of a culture of mockery.
- One way or another, he managed to overcome this kind of fear.
By the time of this photo, some of the scar tissue in this chakra databank is on this topic.
ROSE COMMENTS
Two members of my family used to tell stories about the intellectual rivalries in their patch of academia. In my memoir, “Bigger than All the Night Sky,” I summarize my relationships with these noteworthy college professors. Basically:
- My uncle Herb became Professor Emeritus, as well as head of his Politics Department. (Hofstra University.)
- While my uncle Butch was an influential public intellectual. As well as head of his Sociology Department. (Lehman College.)
Regularly one or the other would quip, “The rivalries are so vicious because the stakes are so small.”
How could Arthur C. Clark, with his extraordinary body of work… How could he not be at the receiving end of considerable jealousy, including some social viciousness?
Yet, at the time of the photo used for this aura reading. (Which would be a photo taken fairly late in his life.) Absent are qualities like bitterness, resentment, and self-pity.
Finding other ways to survive the ugliness that undoubtedly came his way? I might admire this as much as anything else about Clarke’s magnificent thought leadership.

Some scar tissue at this chakra databank attests to some of the struggles he’s had. Evidently, when it comes to maintaining his spiritual integrity at Clarke’s pinnacle of success and influence? This has not been easy. Again and again, however, he has found a way to bring spiritual integrity into his work. And into his world.
In Conclusion – One Last Sweet Surprise

He’s a molecular empath. Add to all that you’ve learned how he has that distinctive ability — for life.
As a molecular empath he looks right through the excuses and stories. He looks into information with higher truth value. That’s just as he rolls.

- Writing about real-life science? YES
- Exploring life’s possibilities as a futurist? SURE

To me, there’s always some suspense. Cocreating with the Divine Being who helps me write the article, what will I learn?
For me this profile of Arthur C, Clarke really hit the spot. I have been worrying about AI.
How could any well informed person not worry? The humanity of this scientist reassured me.
What you found in his aura was hardly salt of the earth. Intellectually he’s far beyond most human beings, yet he does have the courage to move forward. All of us humans need that.
Too many are escaping reality one way or another. I insist in believing in us humans who are engaged in making life better for humanity.

Maybe you don’t quite believe in Enlightenment. Or you don’t care about using your full potential in life.
Then keep in mind that for any political activism, any social activism, whenever we show up smarter and clearer and wiser, yes! We can do more to help humanity. Doesn’t humanity need that effectiveness right now?

For me growing up as a child, Arthur C. Clarke was held in the highest esteem as a science fiction writer, a true benchmark for his peers (and I’m sure he still is).

Back then, the concept of artificial intelligence was way beyond my comprehension.

Arthur C. Clarke’s commitment to human intelligence is so beautiful, and I found it fascinating that ideas and concepts are so real for him – “the truth of ideas comes first”.
I found it particularly striking from this aura reading all the different kinds of courage involved in being a leader.
And we need leadership in technology right now, especially the courage and imagination to dream bigger.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Yet one more reason for each of us to seek Enlightenment now, in the Age of Awakening.
When we use our full mental potential, we can dream bigger. Dream bigger and do better!
It is beautiful how Arthur C. Clarke kept his spiritual integrity throughout, including having considerable fame, with his commitment to bringing spiritual integrity into his work and into the world.
And he did all this without bitterness and rancour? This shows a lot of courage, and I admire how much persistence and determination it would have taken.
Arthur C. Clarke’s emphasis on bringing the importance of human intelligence to the forefront is particulalry important now.
To me, “Artificial Intelligence” is really a misnomer. Humans have used our ingenuity and past learning to create AI, and then, if we chose to, we give it the power to make assessment or decisions regarding human activities.
It’s human intelligence at work.

And all of this is a choice. It’s not pre-determined, or something we have to do.

Such hogwash! To me, this kind of cynicism and fatalism isn’t worthy of human intelligence.
More like how people would think if drunk, stoned on weed, living in Spiritual Addiction or Psychological Overwork, etc. Sadly, such people might prefer to relinquish any attempts to use what is left of their intelligence… and outsource to AI.
I’ve noticed some pretty fatalistic discussions around AI, just assuming it’s here to take over work, be used in many parts of our daily lives, be used in important parts of human life.
How about that?
No fatalism from me, RACHEL and other Blog-Buddies. Also, related to Comment #40, I have never used — nor needed — a “vision board.”
Like determining if someone should be released from jail, be eligible for medical treatment, or if they should go to the next round of interviews when applying for a job.
I can see how technology could help with some decisions, but it’s up to humans how much power we give it.

There’s also a whole lot of examples of people using AI where it just….. makes stuff up.
These are called hallucinations and often sounds fairly believable because it’s based on real information.

It’s also not fully understood why AI produces this kind of misinformation. So yes, probably the technology is not ready for many of the use cases that are suggested.

I’ve never been much interested in science fiction. I’ve tried, but it’s just not been my thing, so far at least. It’s like at the book store or library, those books are just sort of grayed out for me – I barely notice they’re there.
But I was interested in this aura reading.
I really got a sense of what this writer was like as a man. It’s like this Chakra Databank Array, read by you on this man, played a particular chord of humanity.

My workplace is really pushing the use of AI.
I think there needs to be a fair assessment of what the benefits are and how it actually performs.
Like, do you really want to receive an email from a colleague written by an AI?
Do you think that will actually improve communciation, create a shared understanding of the work at hand, foster a sense of being part of a team?
Really, I think a lot of the hype about AI is already starting to die down.
It’s just not very good at a lot of the tasks humans are using it for.
Most of the things it can help with are already fairly automated and routine, and AI technologies just take it a step further.
It’s useful but not that dramatic, which is not that good for headlines!
