Synchronicity Perspective. When is a banana not just a banana?
Synchronicity Perspective from an Enlightenment Teacher.
Ooh, is it just a beautiful coincidence that you happened upon this article?
First of All, I’m Inviting You to Think for Yourself
Because this post is hardly… one more rah-rah celebration of synchronicity. Especially any breathless celebration of the alleged “spiritual” meaning of synchronicity.
Whether or not you wind up agreeing with me, the perspective I’m offering:
Can help you on your spiritual journey.
Moreover, today’s perspective comes from an Enlightenment Teacher. Meaning, I’ve helped people like you to move into Spiritual Enlightenment.
Therefore, I’m in a pretty good position to question just how spiritual synchronicity really is.
In order to help you refine your understanding, hello! I’ll invite you to do think for yourself. Rather than cheering you on as you relax and float downstream. Boldly, together let’s question the merits of belief in synchronicity.
For Example, So Much Synchronicity PRESSURE!
Do you have any idea how much pressure is on you to believe in synchronicity?
Free yourself from the pretty significant drawbacks of believing in synchronicity.
Just read this article and then, as always, decide what you choose to believe.
What Is Synchronicity?
According to Gwyneth Paltrow’s website, ” Synchronicities are incidents of spiritual significance that ask us to momentarily dampen our self-obsession and consider the possibility of the divine.”
BTW, if you’d like to see what I’ve written elsewhere at my blog about Gwyneth, ask in a COMMENT below.
Otherwise, it might be enough to know about her commodification of mind body spirit.
Meanwhile, I’d offer this milder definition of synchronicity. Believers in synchronicity actively look for meaningful coincidences. Ascribing spiritual significance to pretty much any coincidences. Like what you’ll be reading about in more detail in this article.
Why Is Synchronicity Supposed to Be Spiritual?
Such an important question for us to answer! Again, the major points that follow offer you several different reasons why. Namely specific reasons why many folks believe in synchronicity as something spiritual.
(Decidedly not “why synchronicity is spiritual.”)
For now, here’s a general recommendation that could help you a lot:
Before you believe anything is “spiritual” you’d best think long and hard, using the brains that God gave you.
Avoid trustingly pursuing whatever others tell you is “spiritual” or “sacred” or “God’s message for you.”
If you really care about God and/or self-actualization, you won’t go on a random spiritual quest. Such as letting Twitter and Google crowdsource your beliefs for you.
By contrast, I spend a ridiculously large amount of time lovingly writing blog posts like these. And answering questions you have.
Of course, I’m just one spiritual teacher. Whichever spiritual teachers you choose to help you, choose them wisely. Because many spiritual teachers are doing good business but personally aren’t doing very well, as you’ll find when clicking on this link just supplied here.
My Perspective as an Enlightenment Teacher
As a matter of fact, before you read further… Of course you have the right to ask about my qualifications to serve as an Enlightenment Teacher.
Unless you’re already familiar with my work, please click on that link I’ve just provided.
Now let’s get to the perspective of this Enlightenment Teacher when it comes to synchronicity.
Synchronicity Perspective Allure #1. Meaning
Meaningful coincidences. Clearly, that’s the point of caring about synchronicity.
For example, Gladys is a big believer in synchronicity. Ever since she became an adult, she’s longed to find her spiritual purpose. And she’s been so busy believing in synchronicity, she’s never even noticed that humanity has moved into the Age of Awakening. As a result, life purpose has changed for everyone.
Regardless, pursuing synchronicity keeps her busy. As Gladys floats through her day mostly she’s paying attention to what? (Sadly) she’s looking for alleged “spiritual messages” and “guidance” that happen in everyday reality. Such as:
- The 11:11 movement.
- “Angelic messages” in everyday coincidences
- Reading angel cards, tarot cards, or other oracles. Because these work due to synchronicity. (Supposedly.)
- Mostly Gladys is an exvangelical. But when she’s feeling down she opens up her Bible for spiritual messages. AKA, bibliomancy. Gladys believes she’ll receive whatever the Lord most needs her to hear.
- Incidentally, Blog-Buddies, have you ever had a favorite way to use synchronicity? Are you still doing this? In retrospect, did it help you much? COMMENT below, please.
A Contrary Perspective from Rose Rosetree, Enlightenment Teacher
A defining characteristic of human life is this: We can only pay attention to one thing at one time. All the time that Gladys is seeking guidance through synchronicity, she’s not paying attention to human reality.
Ironically, this is a way to squander her chances for personal growth and spiritual awakening.
Squander, not enhance.
Synchronicity Perspective Allure #2. Surrender
What’s supposed to make synchronicity spiritually beautiful?
How you can learn what you’re supposed to do. Then follow it.
Shocking Story to Follow. Consider Yourself Alerted, Blog-Buddies
For instance, I once had a synchronicity believer as my client for an Energy Spirituality™ session. “Josephine” told me a story when our session began. It was important to her.
On my way here I was leaving my apartment building. A workman was fixing something and he stopped to watch me leave. Then he called out to me. He told me, “You should be eating bananas.”
Josephine was pondering that guidance. What a great example of synchronicity, with human beings serving as God’s messengers.
A Contrary Perspective from Rose Rosetree, Enlightenment Teacher
OMG, poor Josephine! During that session I kept my opinion to myself. But here’s my reaction to that “beautiful example of synchronicity.”
Josephine was an immigrant from Africa. She was a very dark-skinned immigrant.
Quite possibly the workman was white, and a racist. A disgusting thought, yes. But why else would he tell a total stranger to eat bananas?
I live in this country as a politically aware person. Around this time, First Lady Michelle Obama was called “an ape in heels.”
For sure, one way or another, it’s easy to take advantage of believers in synchronicity. Creepy to do, but easy.
Synchronicity Perspective Allure #3. Spiritual
“Get me off this stinking rock. Take me back to Heaven.”
That might be the motto of Josephine and Gladys, plus others who are big believers in synchronicity. Like they can’t wait for the life to be over. Meanwhile, they’re going to:
- Look for their hidden instructions from God or whomever — aka Synchronicity.
- Dutifully follow those instructions. (So Age of Faith!)
- And then look forward to their reward. Maybe having God tell them, “You figured out the meaning of life and did everything I asked you to do.”
But honestly. Does following these steps really make a person more spiritual?
I can tell you this, Blog-Buddies. I’ve done consciousness lifestyle research on a ton of people. (As in the example at the link just supplied.) Based on my experience, here’s the truth as I see it.
The only “spiritual” benefit of paying a lot of attention to synchronicity?
It’s moving into the consciousness lifestyle of Spiritual Addiction.
A Contrary Perspective from Rose Rosetree, Enlightenment Teacher
Human life is about what happens in objective reality. Also you can notice surfacey subjective reactions. Like happy vs. sad vs. scared vs. angry.
But there are two other types of vibrational frequency available to us. Particularly in the Age of Awakening, when we have a New Vibrational Freedom for positioning our consciousness.
Astral Vibrational Frequencies are more common to experience. However, sometimes we might possibly position consciousness at the Divine Vibrational Frequency. Important to note if you’re a spiritual seeker: Astral is NOT Divine.
Paying attention to synchronicity means interpreting human life by bringing awareness to the astral. And assuming that means having awareness of God, or other Divine experiences. However, that’s not true.
Thus, seeking out synchronicity is NOT a legitimate path toward Enlightenment. In short, it’s…
Quite OPPOSITE to Spiritual Awakening
What if you’re curious but skeptical? Book a phone or Skype session of Enlightenment Teaching with me. Ask me to research what happens to your aura while you’re doing something synchronicity-related.
For instance, I might give you a Consciousness Positioning Consult. Regardless of your Session Centerpiece, it’s going to bring you a lot of clarity.
My job is not to force you do choose any type of spiritual practice. But I sure would like to give you detailed information about the true impact of path that simply won’t lead you… where you’ve been promised.
In Conclusion
Thank you for reading this counter-culture article. Seems to me, belief in synchronicity is classic Age of Faith. Emphasizing:
- Childlike Trust
- Surrender
- Obedience
Now that we’re living in the Age of Awakening, these old-fashioned virtues can get you into a lot of trouble. Thwarting your attempts at personal growth and spiritual awakening.
Please COMMENT Away
Share your experience.
- How important is it to you to get “guidance” in the form of synchronicity?
- What brings purpose and meaning to your life? Maybe something more personal than looking at the time and seeing 11:11?
- Do you know anybody who’s a big believer in synchronicity? Do you find the results inspiring-and-impressive?
- Are there any websites that offer synchronicity advice, where you’d like to supply a link and ask me to comment? (I’d be glad to.)
Ooh, was it a beautiful coincidence that you happened upon this article? Who cares!
Maybe what matters more is whether you learned anything.

Also, your Comments #94 – 95 were outstandingly helpful. Many people reading here may also have been told ill-informed ideas about being empaths. When they were nothing of the sort!
Of course, I especially recommend this new, user-friendly website to any of you who wish to learn about empath ANYTHING.
Very interesting! Looking forward to learning more when the time comes.
Thanks, WILL. I really-really miss offering those sessions of past-life regression… with their a strong emphasis on targeted energy healing. Here’s a little intro to Soul Energy Awakening Hypnosis via YouTube.
Extra thought, VIOLET, regarding your reference in Comment #95 to the Energy Spirituality Sensitivity Scale. In case you don’t know what that is, just check out the link I’ve just given you.
And feel free to ask about your Sensitivity Scale Score in a personal session with me.
I like the phrase that you used in Comment 51 “looking for cosmic shortcuts”. I know I sure did. I used to keep my eyes peeled for signs and omens…..
Was the hawk I just saw an omen? No, it was flying above the way a hawk normally does…..
I also enjoyed reading Jake’s comment #45: ” So, it was a gradual realization of my own resourcefulness that eventually led to giving up this “guidance.”
ANTHONY, what wonderful comments. Thank you.
Your Comment #106 in particular set off an AHA! for me.
Looking at reality with an eye to the hidden Synchronicity Messages within? That pretty much guarantees NOT positioning consciousness in Human Objective Reality but, rather, a quirky little variation.
Basically, seeking synchronicity produces consequences akin to the equally quirky little experiment of “Good Vibes Only.”
Ironically, in the name of self-improvement some folks are experimenting with driving up and down a cul-de-sac, avoiding the main streets here on Earth.
