Deeper Perception Made Practical

Accept Your Reality. 5 Tips to Help.

Accept Your Reality. “Wot? Some of these five tips might help ME?

Accept Your Reality. Find out how doing this can protect you. Additionally, this article brings you five practical tips for accepting reality.

Preventing the need for energy healing — and maybe other kinds of healing as well.

Even though some forms of acceptance may not be simple or sweet, hello! Acceptance sure beats the alternatives.

Accept Your Reality? Sometimes Surprisingly Hard

Facilitating thousands of Energy Spirituality™ sessions, I’ve encountered many surprises. Including expectations that folks have for their lives. Since some folks have the notion that everyone else gets to live in Candy Land. Likewise, that “Candy Crush” is a problem-solving verb.

Between streaming entertainment… And “Reality” shows that are anything but.

Curated lives on Facebook are just part of the problem. Entertainment media and social media present us with views of fantasy reality. Sadly, these surreal versions of normal life are — at best — pleasing illusions. (To put it bluntly, lies.)

Yet you can sill succeed as a seeker of truth. And/or emotional growth. Or, even spiritual awakening.

Introducing 5 Tips to Help Protect You

Although the following tips don’t qualify as methods for Energy Healing, hooray! As you know, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Accepting reality can cut down on the need for healing. As well as the sheer amount of drama that you face today.

For instance, this blog post warns folks of a somewhat popular fad these days. Promising something far better than ordinary human reality. Only check out the results. Such as what you can read in recent Comments #314-315.

So take a deep breath, Blog-Buddies. And then take a look.

Human reality here at Earth School isn’t always pleasant. Nevertheless, it’s our very best choice.

Accept Your Reality #1. Stubborn Illness

Physical limitations are no walk in the park. Yet, sadly, sometimes a person does go through health problems. Even long-term illnesses.

Although I haven’t written about this topic before, let me share this with you. Blog-Buddies, sometimes I’ll facilitate sessions designed to bring discernment about choices:

  • Sometimes it’s Aura Readings of different medical specialists, consumer-type research.
  • Alternatively I’ve spent many an hour… helping clients learn about podcasters who present alternative healing modalities. Fortunately, researching chakra databanks can reveal important truths about integrity, etc.
  • Other times it’s Soul Thrill® Aura Research. In order to ascertain whether the alleged benefits of a product for energy healing is legit. (For example, this blog post was a real shocker. If you click onto the link I just gave you, be sure to read the COMMENTS. Yowza!)

Both ways, I sometimes help my clients to find a helpful resource. Far more often, however, I find the opposite. Quite the opposite.

Sometimes living on Earth involves having physical limitations. Resigning yourself to what you can’t change? That’s not giving up. It’s smart.

By contrast, it’s terribly sad when people wind up losing money… Or otherwise losing… Due to making poor choices for improving health, choices driven by desperation.

In the face of health problems be hopeful, please. But recognize what, for now, you cannot change.

Accept Your Reality #2. Aging

Remember when you were growing up? So much humiliation, on a regular basis. Plus, as I describe in my Baby Boomer’s coming-of-age memoir, we may fear we’ll never make it. Like we will never figure out how to become an adult.

At the opposite end of the aging spectrum, there’s growing older. Again, one may face humiliation, on a regular basis. Plus, we never know when aging will grow harder-harder-harder.

Moreover, at the end of that opposite end, there’s going to be death. (At least the end of this particular lifetime. Which believers in reincarnation consider to be quite different from “Lights out” or “Game over.”)

To accept the reality of aging, here’s my tip:

Only pay attention to your personal aging… when it becomes relevant.

Along the way, avoid buying into ideas in Collective Consciousness about how you’re supposed to feel at 40 or 50, etc. Many of these clichés are fear-based. Or otherwise irrelevant to the life you’ve been shaping.

How about things that happen, aging-related things that you must accept? You can find the strength to accept that. Running away from reality won’t help. Resourcefulness will.

Accept Your Reality #3. Choosing a Day Job, a Career

Many a session, I’ve helped an Energy Spirituality™ client to choose a career. One important lesson I’ve learned can fit nicely into a tip right here.

What if you yearn to be a screenwriter, a painter, a filmmaker, etc.? During your schooldays, sure, prepare for that kind of career. Assuming that you have the luxury of financial support to pursue a creative kind of dream.

But once you’re a grownup, supporting yourself? Hello! Get a day job, one that will bring you financial security.

Shift over to doing creative activities as a personal hobby. (That link I’ve just supplied is about “Creativity Secrets with Soul.” Which can help you a lot.)

Supporting yourself through full-time creative work? Probably you’d be dooming yourself to a life of poverty and drama. In reality there are only so many jobs where creatives get paid.

In reality? This article from The New Yorker should be required reading.

Accept Your Reality #4. When Your Marriage Stinks

On a wedding day, all is sweetness and light.

Marriage (or a long-term partnership) can remain one of the lights of your life. Except when that doesn’t happen at all.

  1. Sometimes divorce is your best option. Even though it’s not what you dreamed of on your wedding day.
  2. Other times, a spouse is just plain stuck. Whether for financial reasons or health reasons. So the wise course it to prepare an exit plan (when possible). And definitely to downsize one’s expectations for that relationship.
  3. Acknowledging the problems in a marriage can help you either way.

As you can imagine, I facilitate quite a few sessions each year for Energy Spirituality clients with marriage problems. Often personal sessions can make a positive difference.

What can you do on your own?

Don’t keep trying to fix a broken marriage. Especially don’t try to fix your spouse or partner.

Blaming yourself isn’t going to help you face reality either. Instead, acknowledge what keeps happening that you cannot change.

At least accepting your reality is a start toward making your life better. Seems to me, you’re allowed to give up on a marriage that will never bring you happiness. But what would be a serious mistake? Giving up on your own potential for happiness.

Accept Your Reality #5. Losing White Privilege

This is a hard one, a current one. In my lifetime I’ve lived through several cycles when politicians and voters aimed to help America live up to its potential. Such as those words in our Pledge of Allegiance: With liberty and justice for all.

Starting with the Civil Rights Movement, I’ve seen so much unfold. Not until this last year have I realized that I’ve had certain expectations that count as White Privilege. Changing, for me, is like a slo-mo game of Whack-a-Mole. When a problem comes up, I fix it. If appropriate, I make amends.

Personally, I’m grateful for every bit of learning. Since I don’t want this ugliness to have any place in my life. Nor in America’s Collective Consciousness.

  1. You could say that I’m at one extreme of living with small vestiges of White Privilege.
  2. At the other extreme are folks like the supporters of legislation designed for voter suppression.
  3. With many degrees of prejudice in the middle.
  4. Also Americans can specialize in other kinds of racism and entitlement. As demonstrated in recent gun violence against Asian-American women.
  5. If you care about personal growth and/or spiritual awakening, maybe you’ll agree with me. All this must end.

And some of the changes may feel — and be — stingingly personal.

Nonetheless, if you aim to live as a good person, you can’t opt out. No excuses.

Accepting racial reality, now, in America? Each of us must take a stand, and do our reasonable best.

The reality of life in the U.S. includes this fact in our racial politics: It’s a matter of human decency. Each of us can do all we can to end White Privilege.

(Likewise, Male Privilege must end, but that would be another article.)

In Conclusion

Accepting reality can fast-track us toward solutions. Real-life solutions to real-life problems!

Back during the New Age Years, one of the big bestsellers by Louise Hay was a book with this title: “Heal Your Life.”

I bought it. Did any of you? Who didn’t want to solve their biggest problems in life?

Only what was the approach from Louise? Say specific affirmations out loud.

As if a single one of them would “heal” problems like those discussed in today’s post!

COMMENT Away, Blog-Buddies

Where to start? Here are some ideas.

  1. Have any of the five problems discussed here been part of your life lately? (Remember, you can always COMMENT anonymously. Give me a fictitious name in your first line. And then your friendly Blog Monitor will do the rest.)
  2. Have you been struggling due to a different kind of problem? What? (Other Blog-Buddies may be facing the very same thing.)
  3. What did it take for you to start accepting reality?
  4. Do you find that Energy Spirituality™ sessions and books help you to accept reality?
  5. Anybody here believe that if you’re only positive enough — or you dream-board often enough — you’ll be able to vanish your biggest problems? (If you’ve changed your mind about that, why? Stories, anyone?)

    Lydia says:

Honestly, I never thought about it before. Accepting reality can be hard to do. In the back of my mind I knew that. Thanks for the clarity here.

  2. 2

LYDIA, isn’t that a fascinating thing about accepting reality. No matter how intelligent we are (in your case, very!) adults tend to compartmentalize. So we may compartmentalize a problem with a spouse or with White Privilege as if it were only about that particular incident, that particular person.

  3. 3

But objective reality gives us more abstract categories as well, like the five with a starring role in this blog post.

In my experience we enhance clarity by including problems that we sometimes take for granted, when it seems we can’t change them — and maybe, in reality, we really can’t.

  4. 4

But at least it’s worth noting such problems, rather than blaming them on something completely different.

    Joshua T. says:

You’ve done it again. We teachers need to do that, to help our students find the inner dead spaces and also forms of outer escapism.

You did that for me today. This post is very worth sharing.

  6. 6
    Joshua T. says:

Problems 1 and 2 have been the ones for me. I never thought either problem would happen to me.

  7. 7
    Joshua T. says:

Reading this post I felt a little guilty acknowledging either one as true, as though health problems and aging might happen to other people but never to me.

Why not? Because those people didn’t meditate enough, like I’ve been doing all these years.

    Valerie says:

Hi Rose – What did it take for me to start accepting reality?

First I had to realize that I wasn’t SEEING reality as it really was. I was seeing it as I wanted it to be. Sometimes I have to take a hard look at a situation to see it as it really is. It’s been a muscle that I had to build, but now it’s very strong :-)

  9. 9
    Valerie says:

Do you find that Energy Spirituality sessions and books help you to accept reality?

Yes. Yes. Yes. Energy Spirituality has taught me and continues to teach me about reality and truth. What it looks like, how it feels, and how empowering it is to look at it in the face.

  10. 10
    Valerie says:

Also it sometimes still happens that I think I’m being honest with myself, but it’s not until during an Energy Spirituality session and research that I see things more clearly through emotional honesty.

  11. 11
    Valerie says:

One of the most important things to me is to live a life of truth. A key to that for me is to be willing to SEE the truth both inside and outside.

Definitely not easy, but I believe I grow much faster when I just face the truth.

  12. 12

VALERIE, I offer many resources in the form of Energy Spirituality™ books and personal sessions and workshops. You’ve figured out how to choose what you need at any given time.

    More-and-more-and-more power to you!

    Oscar Manuel says:

Thanks for writing this, Rose! These are all really tough things to face…

  14. 14

OSCAR MANUEL, so many of us are encountering toughness at this time. We brave souls, incarnating at the start of the Age of Awakening.

Reminds me of a slogan we have in America for the Marines: “The few, the proud.”

  15. 15

Why am I thinking, “The Few”?

Because those who face reality best have consciousness lifestyles of either Human-Based Spirituality, The New Strong, or Spiritual Enlightenment.

  16. 16

The majority of humans around now aren’t living with a self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle; however, their lack of connection to objective reality may buffer them against suffering, to some degree, for now.

  17. 17

And why am I thinking “The Proud”?

Because my hunch is, God is very proud of us, shining pure light during the thunderstorm-ey darkness of this time on Earth. We’ll all be okay, I believe, OSCAR MANUEL. Just hang in there.

    James says:

My takeaway from this post is how historically, for me, blame has been my pit stop when running away from reality, whether blaming myself or a particular person, or else society.

    Helpful post, Rose. Thank you.

  19. 19

What a huge insight to give yourself, JAMES. :-) This is a topic that you could bring to an Energy Spirituality session, if you wanted to.

Whatever you do with that insight, actually… NOW can become a pivot point in your history, your story.

    Lois says:

    Accept Your Reality #2 Aging.

My hair was in my way
so I went to a salon
    Senior discount all day
    Stylist asked:
would you like to cover your gray?
    I said
    who would I be fooling?
    (Later I thought to say:
It’s merely an attempt to delay
    The inevitable)
    Besides
    I like my color
Brown in a dimly lit room
Polished silver in the sun’s rays
    A color for which
some of your younger customers pay

  21. 21

    LOIS, what a wonderful-wonderful poem.

I’m so moved by the message and also your writing. Thank you.

  22. 22

Hair color is certainly a way that the majority of American women barter away reality.

To this face reader, hair is social, and socially significant. That is, hair on your head is not inwardly significant, like face data.

  23. 23

BTW in the system of Face Reading Secrets®, meaningful face data stops at the hairline. And then at the (first) chin.

  24. 24

Inspired by this powerful poem by LOIS, do any of you have COMMENTS about the reality of your hair?

Or other aspects of your physical appearance, such as your weight, your age, the color of your skin!

  25. 25

What about that reality is negotiable for you? What do you celebrate about the current reality of your physical self?

Versus what is something for you to accept, without casting blame on yourself?

  26. 26
    Anthony says:

Aging is a shocker….I still feel like normal. But the little things are adding up.

The blurry lettering that I used to see clearly, the longer recovery time from working out, the extra pounds that won’t go away…. I also reflected on my previous decades and realized how hard I was on myself.

  27. 27

ANTHONY, don’t I ever know what you’re writing about here. Sometimes the learning at Earth School seems inexorable.

  28. 28

Outwardly we still have choices. Inwardly even more so.

Even Spiritual Enlightenment doesn’t allow us to allow the ordinary difficulties of human reality.

  29. 29

To me, sometimes the burdens of aging feel heavy. Other times they seem light.

  30. 30

What gets me through? What makes the biggest difference? All the love in my life, including that most essential relationship with God.

  31. 31

Blog-Buddies, when you must accept realities that you cannot change, what gets you through?

  32. 32
    Simon says:

“Anybody here believe that if you’re only positive enough — or you dream-board often enough — you’ll be able to vanish your biggest problems?”

  33. 33
    Simon says:

I think that would not only make my problems worse, but leave me with a whole new lot of problems!

I feel very lucky I never got into such things.

  34. 34
    Simon says:

I think HOPE is important for solving problems, or facing up to the reality of the problems you can’t solve.

    But not “positive thinking”.

  35. 35

    SIMON, I agree completely.

Good to hear from you again at the blog!

  36. 36
    Jasmine says:

Thanks for writing this, Rose. These are all really challenging. #5 is the most challenging for me right now.

  37. 37

JASMINE, you’re welcome… from the heart.

I wonder if you — or other Blog-Buddies — can tell me what’s making the Positivity Nonsense an active challenge for you.

  38. 38

For example, folks, is it that????

    * You don’t know how to respond when you encounter positivity clichés via social media.

  39. 39

    * Or you feel guilty that maybe the positivity seekers are right, and all the difficulties in your reality are optional… if only you keep affirming, “Love and Light”

  40. 40

What, what, what is the icky-sticky part of all this Positivity Nonsense that’s still troubling any of you?

If you can put any of that into a comment here… I just might be able to help you right here at the blog.

  41. 41

For sure, if you’re seriously gripped by today’s mainstream Positivity Nonsense, consider booking a session with me for Energy Spirituality™ ENERGY HEALING.

I’ll share. You could call me a recovering Catholic I suppose. Preparing for the Shift I was full of hope about moving into a better kind of life on earth.

    Denise Rowland says:

Listening to channeled teachings filled a void for me. As part of all this I became a believer in being positive.

  44. 44
    Denise Rowland says:

All this happened so long ago.

Obviously I eventually stopped being into the psychics and channelers. For me Energy Spirituality is like a breath of fresh air. I’d call it the purest spiritual truth I’ve found yet, like no pushing or shoving but just a kind of spiritual invitation to learn what makes sense to me.

  45. 45
    Denise Rowland says:

My big holdover from all the wishful thinking about the Shift, etc.? That idea of being positive.

It made it seem like the Secret to happiness was within my control. It seemed like empowerment.

  46. 46
    Denise Rowland says:

Only problem is how I realized, and this happened as soon as I read this blog post, what a burden it has turned out to be.

Trying to be positive doesn’t work for me. I realize that now. I realize it in theory, only it has become such a habit.

  47. 47
    Denise Rowland says:

Except it seems I’ve replaced Catholic guilt with positivity guilt, and I can’t seem to get past this. What can help?

    Liane says:

    Liane says:

It’s no longer about how my hair looks. It’s about how it makes me feel. Brave enough to admit I’m more than several years past being young-ish.

  51. 51

    LIANE, thank you!

It does seem a waste of one’s life to put a whole lot of time or attention or money on fighting one’s age.

  52. 52

Although hey, I’m reasonably sure that Kim Kardashian will do that. Do you Blog-Buddies know that Kim’s now officially a billionaire?

  53. 53
  54. 54

DENISE ROWLAND, here I come, responding to your important Comments #42-27.

Thanks for sharing here. You’ve come a long way. Please be patient with yourself, and acknowledge how far you’ve come already. Eventually you can move out the understandable habit of seeking to be positive.

  55. 55

One thing that might help is this.

An excellent way to break that Positivity Nonsense habit is this. If you notice you’re doing it, “reinsert yourself into objective reality.”

  56. 56

This is an effortless shift you can make to how you’re positioning consciousness. And there are several different ways to do it.

Only please, don’t just make something up. Because you can open up your copy of “The New Strong” and slowly read — or reread — the chapter called “Reinsert Yourself into Reality.” These methods work, and without producing drawbacks.

  57. 57

If you don’t have that paperback or eBook yet, you really might want to get yourself a copy.

Reading, or rereading, the entire book can make a big difference, in addition to what I’ve just suggested here about how to break the habit of Positivity Nonsense.

  58. 58

Also here’s a word to the wise — meaning any of you Blog-Buddies with a fierce “Positivity Habit”?

What I’ve just recommended here could do the trick for you. But if not, there’s likely some STUFF in your aura that is keeping you stuck.

  59. 59

As you may know, we have this motto in Energy Spirituality. (Because it’s true.) STUFF can always, always, always be healed.

  60. 60

So you might consider booking a session with me.

A bit of this kind of professional help could save you years of struggle.

  61. 61
    Liane says:

RE: Comment #40. For me, the icky part of of all this “Positivity Nonsense” is that it isn’t a real solution to anything.

  62. 62
    Liane says:

Whenever I tried positive thinking in the past, more often than not it seemed like I was setting myself up for failure.

  63. 63
    Liane says:

It wasn’t a skill. It didn’t help with the reality of anything.

It was a distraction, nothing more.

  64. 64

LIANE, I just love how you pack huge wisdom into plain-spoken sentences like these. From my perspective as an Enlightenment Teacher etc., there’s a lot to unpack. So here goes.

  65. 65

Regarding your Comment #60, “Positivity Nonsense” isn’t a real solution to anything HUMAN.

Instead, Positivity Talk is a lot like Energy Talk. Very related, I think, to the New Age Years. And then to the early years of the Age of Awakening. (As you can read about, in living color, in “The New Strong.”)

  66. 66

Basically, millions of people are confused about their new Energy Sensitivity. They’re mistakenly substituting it for paying attention to life at Human Vibrational Frequencies.

(My apology for using these technical terms but, really, “The New Strong” is like a manual for successful living in the Age of Awakening. Read it and you’ll be much better able to accept reality, among other benefits.)

  67. 67

For this reason, LIANE and other Blog-Buddies, people believe that trying to adjust their energies-and-emotions in a positive direction… will be a shortcut to human success.

  68. 68

This belief reminds me of playing the kid’s game of Chutes and Ladders. What happens if you get lucky? You land on a ladder, which will advance you way ahead of all the plodders who advance slowly on the game board.

  69. 69

New Age beliefs like The Secret and Law of Attraction, imo, reveal a kind of energy confusion. Wishful thinking led people to believe that if they only did the inner work, like what I’m calling Positivity Nonsense in this blog post…

  70. 70

Then the smart followers of Abraham-Hicks, etc., would do the equivalent of ride a “ladder” for instant success. And superiority to the poor schlubs who were just doing human life and didn’t know better.

  71. 71

Regarding your simple statement of human fact, LIANE, in Comment #60? This will make sense to anyone who is living The New Strong… or who is otherwise well adjusted to being human.

Sadly, for now, the majority of folks are NOT.

  72. 72

Hey, I’ve gotta go for now — given other commitments for my work today — but I do plan to return tomorrow with further celebration of these great LIANE comments.

  73. 73

LIANE, your Comment #62 is worthy of a Blog-Buddy in Spiritual Enlightenment. The everyday clarity is enough to stop your readers in our tracks.

  74. 74

In retrospect, sure, your efforts at positivity… repeatedly set you up for failure. But how could a brainy-and-practical person make this mistake more than once?

  75. 75

Any regular reader of this blog can solve that mystery. I’ll put the solution that occurs to me… in terms of positioning your consciousness.

  76. 76

Granted, this is one of the more forward-thinking concepts of Energy Spirituality, related to the “New Vibrational Freedom” that all of you can learn about from “The New Strong” as a reader-friendly book or, alternatively, as a series of online workshops — starting with this FREE INTRO.

  77. 77

Very likely for you, LIANE, when doing the so-trendy positive thinking, where were you positioning your consciousness? At an Astral Vibrational Frequency, where reality seemed more like an energy than works very well in human life.

  78. 78

So it’s not as if you were merely toying with ideas, like swapping out thoughts of parking tickets with images of lush, green pastures. Positive thinking is a form of Technique Time.

  79. 79

Thus, whenever you did it, what happened along with the positioning of consciousness? To put it in human terms, you became spaced out. Disconnected from (human) reality!

  80. 80

Therefore, you’d become less effective at solving problems. And as a result, kaboom! There would come another “failure.”

  81. 81

When would you notice this? Any time you were paying attention to human life. (Technical translation: Any time you were awake and you were positioning consciousness at a Human Vibrational Frequency.)

  82. 82

Finally, LIANE, regarding your Comment #63… might I suggest? That positive thinking was a skill. It was just a highly ineffective, counter-productive, and ultimately confusing sort of skill.

  83. 83

As a consciousness engineer and all around ethical person, I do what I can to make sure that every Energy Spirituality skill that I teach… works properly. The same can’t be said for all random skills.

  84. 84
    Liane says:

Rose, your comments ring true on every point.

  85. 85
    Liane says:

I spent a lot of time on The Secret (and other Positivity Nonsense gobbledygook) – not one time did it make me feel better, or change my life in any meaningful way… other than to lead me deeper into Spiritual Additction.

  86. 86
    Liane says:

In other words it did more harm than good.

The only good I can credit to all that nonsense is the perspective it gives me now.

  87. 87
    Liane says:

I’m a big fan of The New Strong, having read it several times. Each reading bringing a new understanding of something I didn’t pick up on before.

It’s been about a year since my last reading, I’ll be picking it up again soon.

  88. 88

LIANE, in retrospect these “teachings” were just some of your illusions on the way to Enlightenment.

Thanks for adding these latest comments.

  89. 89
    James says:

At one point didn’t you give us a whole series of blog posts about different problems with trying to be positive?

  90. 90

JAMES, you’ve made such an interesting connection here. What do folks do when they can’t stand reality?

One escape is to seek “being positive,” as if that will fix human-type problems, as if by magic.

  91. 91

And you’re correct. I’ve published many blog posts about the alleged perfection we can trick life into giving us, if only we’re positive enough.

I’d recommend starting with this blog post and then finding related links. This was a multi-part series. Excellent catch, JAMES.
